It will be a Croatian Festa on June 15th in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada as it was announced today that Igor Pokrajac will face Ryan Jimmo at UFC 161. It was announced last week that Stipe Miocic would also be on the UFC 161 card. With Pokrajac and Miocic both on the Winnipeg card it will be the first time the two Croatian fighters will compete on the same card.
Pokrajac posted three consecutive wins before his recent two-fight winless streak. The Croatian suffered a submission loss to Vinny Magalhaes in September and then a decision defeat to Joey Beltran in December. However, the Beltran loss was overturned and ruled a no-contest after the fighter failed a post-fight drug test due to an anabolic steroid.
Jimmo on the other hand is coming off a defeat to James Te Huna in his second outing in the UFC. His first fight with the organization was a quick knockout win over Croatian Anthony Perosh. Pokrajac will look to get back in the win column and avenge his friends loss with a win over the Canadian Jimmo.
This fight shouldn`t go the full three rounds as both fighters are vicous stand-up fighters with Igor possibly having the slight power advantage in his hands.
If your Croatian and always wanted to attend a UFC event this is the event to attend. Stay tuned for further updates on both fighters in the very near future.

ufc would for sure.. k1 is kickboxing more stoppages
afaik they drug test, there have been some high profile fighters dodge the ufc and stay in smaller orgs to avoid drug testing (alistair overeem) so yes they do test.. josh barnett famously tested positive when he was in the top few in the world.. this is mma tho not sure about k1
Do they drug test in K1?
The only reason I pay attention to organized after school fight club is for the chance to witness a death or a paralysis in the ring. What fight club organization offers a better chance at death or paralysis: UFC or K1?
hey crippler what was with the sumo guy reacting ugly at the end of mirko’s last mma fight?
as per:

lots of croats in that k1-gp
@Starcevic
Oh the Crippler is covering the K1Tourney just working on the article.
Im shocked the crippler isn’t covering the K-1 GP. For the first time in history it is being held outside of Japan and Mirko has a good chance of taking the title on home soil.
Perosh took the cro cop fight at last minute after knocking it back once at 97 kilos, just heavy weight, after training with cro cop just to make the fight go aheah, the got big balls.His reward was to get a chance in the ufc, as for Igor with some consistency he can do something in the ufc.It will be hard not training in usa with other top fighters instead of Zagreb but do the best with what you got. Igor is a very good fighter.
@Iggy
Yes I know he is an Aussie but he is an Australian Born Croatian lol
@ Ziva
It will be a pay per view event but maybe one of them may be on the preliminary card which will be free but nothing set in stone yet.
not bad, two croats in an organized after school fight club card. Is this a PPV card or one of the cards they televize on Fuel or Fox.
Perosh is an aussie actually
Pokrajac is mediocre at best.. sigh.. an old training buddy of mirko’s, i miss the days of Pride 2005 etc : )
Ajmo Hrvatska!!!!!!
