Robert Kovač will leave his familiar stomping ground of Germany to join Dinamo and the Bad Blue Boys in Zagreb. It seems that Robert has had enough of Borussia Dortmund and the German BundesLiga; as he winds down his club playing career with current Croatian Prva Liga leaders, Dinamo Zagreb.
We all know that this is Robert’s farewell tour, but remember that even at age 34, he still has much to offer Dinamo. When asked how he felt about the whole situation, Robert summed it up by saying, “I came to become a champion and I wish Hajduk luck and second place.”
So we know how Kovač feels about the situation, but what about all you Bad Blue Boys on the site. How far do you think Robert can take you guys? And for the Hajduk supporters- are you scared in any way by this newest Dinamo acquisition?
Hajduk hosts Dinamo on February 22nd when the Prva Liga resumes after a long winter break. I’m sure there will be plenty of fireworks!
Hajduk-Dinamo should be interesting 2 days before champions league.
Will Kovac start in Bucharest?
Ante Seric signed for Hajduk and Petric scored against Bayern
Despite that i’m a Dinamofan, i’ll agree with Joze no reason for Hajduk to be scared. They’ve made some nice moves in the market as well. Vejic is just like Kovac for them. They needed him and have good defenders around him. Kovac means that we can reorganise our side. Robert will have a little bit of a culture shock when he goes to the ground and dressing room of some HNL clubs in comparison to the works of art in germany and there are many Croats from abroad that have come back and found it a bit rough. Though also many like Spehar, Krpan, Strupar that have shown their class. Dinamo and Hajduk are set up for a fantastic title race. The only thing for Hajduk to learn from with Kovac is that Dinamo can hold their side together in summer as have financial strength. Hajduk just need to keep an eye on their players going on a summer exodus.
Not scared at all
Robert Kovac he is so happy 😀
Well its good for us, but Hajduk should not worry about it too much. They had a shocking season last season and this season they’ve just got themselves sorted so yeah they should keep on progressing just like they are. Hajduk are going to be in a position we were last season. They know Kalinic and Ibricic will leave at end of season and they will be hard to replace – so if they win title this season they will be taking 2 steps back in the summer anyway. They should be focusing on getting replacements in. Vrucina and Sharbini spring to mind. We should target Ilicevic in the summer. Kovac signing shows our financial strength. I’m confident we’ll take the title. Kovac, Calello and Slepicka is what we’ve been missing from summer 08 to winter 08.
