I love that Sučić is being looked at by Pep, but a move to City this summer is too early. He needs to do more in Spain first. Sučić only has 1 goal, 1 assist in 25 matches this season for Sociedad. (all competitions)
It would be awesome to see another Croatian trident at a top-English club (looking at you Crottenham), but a move to mighty Manchester City seems premature by 6-12 months. Sučić is only 22 years old so he will have time to impress. I personally think he is behind pace in La Liga this season. He should have 3 goals and 3 assists at this point in the season for a mid-table club.
I don’t think it’s too early.
He’s playing at a top club, against top clubs, in a top league.
Man City need some youth in midfield.
Who better to develop under than Pep?
Sorry but Crottenham was a tetradent – why does everyone always forget Pletisoka ? Along w Modric, Kranjcar and Corluka
Luka Sucic to Man City
Bhahahahahaha
More like Zubimendi – Man City have been after him, also Liverpool (summer) and Arsenal (this Jan) – that’s the midfielder everybody is after – not Luka Sucic
This is like the “rumour” that Petar Musa is going to Leicester (better than Jamie Vardy, lol) or Nottingham Forrest (better than Chris Wood, lol)
Sucic playing time has been compromised bc Zubimendi is still there (you will recall that Anonymous mentioned he was okay with Sucic going to Sociedad as long as Zubimendi was sold – but he decided to join before that happened – so now living with the consequences)
Sucic’s agent already screwed him once (see above) – hopefully he doesn’t screw him again – Man City are stacked with young midfield talent James McAtee, Nico Gonzalez, etc etc etc – so unless he decides he wants to complete change his playing style and instead of being an elegant gazelle skimming across the field into a monster running 90 minutes straight – they should keep Sucic far away from the PL
It’s nice to hear that Pep is interested, thats great news for Sučić’s future…but it’s all just speculation for now. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is Pep’s last season at City. If they don’t turn things around soon, I think the writing is on the wall.
Agree with Ante. Sucic needs to show more at Real Sociedad first. The player himself is also aware he needs to score and assist more. Coach Imanol Alguacil doesn’t seem to show great trust in him atm. Here’s hoping he will start against Real Betis this weekend.
I personally do not see things getting any better for him at Real Sociedad. From what it seems he hasn’t been getting that much playing time. So if he isn’t being utilized by Sociedad then it is not helpful to his development either. Maybe in this sense, Pep (and Man City) will see more promise in him and have a plan in mind of how to utilize him better.
Pep has done wonders with Gvardiol (in some part with Kovačić as well) maybe he can do the same with Sučić. It is all a question of being paired with the right coach I think.
Plus it may help him to be around both Gvardiol and Kova. It all depends if there already too many midfielders there then maybe this wouldn’t work.
