ENOUGH SAID…
It was a packed house at Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday, July 17th as Tottenham Hotspur opened up their 2010-11 season with a friendly against MLS club San Jose Earthquakes. The match ended in a dreadfully boring scoreless draw, with Luka Modrić and Niko Kranjčar coming into the match as second half substitutes. Vedran Ćorluka did not suit up due to a minor right ankle injury.
The Croatians sped up the tempo in the first 10 minutes of their season debut but couldn’t find the net as the extremely hot conditions during the day game made players think twice about their current endurance. CSR met up with Kranjčar and manager Harry Redknapp after the match. Modrić was unable to be reached for an interview but Harry definitely made up for it. This guy is true class.
CSR MEETS UP WITH NIKO KRANJČAR
MEET HARRY REDKNAPP, MANAGER OF CROTTENHAM
ĆORLUKA MAKES A PRESIDENTIAL CAMEO APPEARANCE
SPECIAL THANKS TO ANTE B. FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT HOST TO ALL THE BOYS AND GIRLS FROM L.A. WHO MADE THE TRIP. HE REALLY ISN’T THAT BAD IN PERSON.
Not sure if my comment came through before..
I noticed the flags and colors in the crowd when I was watching the game. Good effort with the support and the interviews.
Due to the fact that Boris Vukcevic has been mentioned, I really like the kid he is a very talented young player (only 20 years of age). I just hope he doesn't end up playing for Germany as he has already represented their U-19 squad. If HNS let's him slip through their fingers it would be a very bad move.
as far as Eduardo, his chances at Arsenal would have been slim to none as he wasn't even playing next to Bendtner and now VanPersie is coming back and Chamakh has been signed….overall good move for Eduardo
Yah im gonna have to agree with ziva on Eduardo leaving Arsenal. Wenger was right, as much as we have a bias towards certain players,(because they play for our national team), you can't overlook the fact that Eduardo did not look that great OVERALL. He was slow at times, missing lots of chances, and he has 3 other great players going after his position. He needed the move, and Wenger was just being honest. Let's also not forget the fact that soccer is a business not a friendship
yes, technically the brazilian born croat is a croatian citizen. I am not disputing that.
How did Wenger treat Eduardo badly. In no situation did he really dismiss Eduardo. Eduardo was never properly fit last season. We even saw it in the national team and in the latest friendlies. Its a catch 22 situation. eduardo needs games to get fit, wenger needs to win matches so has to play the players most ready.
As far as i'm aware eduardo left arsenal. arsenal didn't kick out eduardo. arsenal offered him the role as 5th striker with potential to move up depending on fitness and form, Eduardo says no thanks i'd rather play every week otherwise he'll never get back to normal. End result he goes to Shaktar. Simples!
@Ziva
Your national team players are Croatian. He has a citizenship, hes Croatian.
Has Gavranovic announced he would play for Croatia?
Has Gavranovic announced he would play for Croatia?
Wenger is an idiot??????
Please explain this one. Looks at what he has done at Arsenal since coming to the club. His record speaks for itself. Just imagine if the club actually spent money like Man U or Chelsea, imagine how much better the results would be. Wenger is one of the biggest reasons the EPL is considered the top league in the world. He came in and basically said FU to the trypical long ball crap and introduced a style of play never seen before in England.
You might not like what he did to the brazilian born croat, but Wenger's job is not baby players, his job is to win. The brazilian born croat was simply not good enough for Arsenal. Stuff like this happens all the time when a player goes to a big club.
Jordan ARMADA NYC…..i call him the brazilain born croat for two reasons; 1. because that is the factual description of him and 2. it's a nice play on words (at least in my opinion). I have nothing against the kid, but I prefer my national team players to actually be croatian. But, no harm on him, he played by the rules to gain his citizenship.
Some of these guys at Shaktar are ultra talented. Shaktar often sign the best young talent in Brazil. They have about 6 ultra talented and technically gifted Brazilian playmakers in their side. Eduardo is really going to be enjoying his football playing in that team. Also clearly Shaktar treat people well as Srna would not have stayed that long.
I'm glad for Eduardo. Great move. Now over to Ivan Klasnic.
From preseason it seems Srdjan Lakic, Boris Vuckcevic and Mario Gavranovic are going to have excellant seasons. With the amount of competition Croatia has nobody including Eduardo can sit around being 5th striker at their club as there is nobody else who has a status like that anymore. Competition next season will be fierce. I'm surprised Klasnic is taking so long deciding.
next season Bilic has this to choose from
EDUARDO – SHAKTAR
IVICA OLIC – BAYERN
MLADEN PETRIC – HAMBURG
MATE BILIC – GIJON
NIKOLA KALINIC – BLACKBURN
NIKICA JELAVIC – RAPID VIENNA
MARIO MANDZUKIC – WOLFSBURG
IVAN KLASNIC – ?
plus all these have stepped up to a higher level in preseason
MARIO GAVRANOVIC – SCHALKE
DANIEL CESAREC – ARIS SALONIKA
SRDJAN LAKIC – KAISERSLAUTERN
ANDREJ KERIC – BURSASPOR
plus
IGOR BUDAN – PALERMO
ANTE RUKAVINA – PANATHANAIKOS
so nobody can afford to take chances. Eduardo's move improves his chances of being ready for Croatia 100%
Eduardo didn't score, others did.
You can also throw in, they recently signed Chamakh.
Unless Eduardo is content with playing vs 2nd to 3rd tiered English sides, hoping Arsh, RVP, Walcott, Bendtner, Chamakh etc get injured, this move makes sense.
He can play and if he's the same as before, he'll be back in top leagues in no time.
I could say the other Arsenal strikers have not performed too. Dudu showed more potential than the other guys before coming to the club. Wenger is an idiot.
@ Ziva
out of curiosity, why do you keep referring to Eduardo as "the Brazilian born Croat"? You got something against the dude or something? Not trying to provoke anything, just curious.
Shakhtar is a great move for Eduardo. He'll get plenty of playing time and he won't be benched the first time he doesn't score in 3 matches. He needs to play constantly to get rid of some of his fear(s). The guy has hardly played in what, 3 years? It's hard to say how much is down to injury and how much is about fitness.
How???? because he has not performed. Plus, I would not call him a starting striker for Arsenal. Yes, he started, but mostly when others were hurt. It was very rare when he started and everyone else was healthy.
Van Persie, WalCott, Bendtner, Arshavin are all ahead of him.
We'll see what take place with the braziliam born croat in Ukraine. I don't think he will ever become the same player after that injury.
Then how can he go from starting striker to 5th on the bench?
Lets remember this, its not Wenger's job to bring back the brazilian born croat to form. Wenger's job is to win games in the EPL. The brzilian born croat was simply not good enough and not healthy enough the last two season to do anything for Arsenal.
He is 5th or 6th in the pecking order at the forward position, so it was logical for him to move on if he wanted playing time.
Yes i'm worried about Badelj. why wasn't he playing tonight. He could easily move if a ridiculous offer comes. Lyon is very realistic. i don't think he is fully developed yet, but maybe lyon can develop him faster than us.
We seem to have lined up that guy from Werder as a replacement. I think Bosnjak, Vrucina and Vugrinec should all come.
Dodo, Sivonjic should go out on loan. maybe Sivonjic can stay as a sub, but Dodo definitely to go.
@dinamofan
Rukavina deffinatly still has a chance at panathinikos. Mandzo didnt score….no surprise there.
@Transfer rumors
I liek them all! hahah!
In Split all people had to say about Rukavina was "brz a smotan"
I don't think he is the right solution for Dinamo
Great news for Dudu. Wenger never gave him any opportunity to get back to form after the injury. Now he can be a starter with Srna and other Brazilians on the team.
Some transfer rumors:
Lyon are looking at Badelj.
Liverpool are looking at Pranjic.
Newcastle are looking at Mate Bilic. Wasn't there another Croatian going there? Klasnic?
Nothing wrong with Eduardo's transfer to Shaktar whatsoever. Eduardo needs to play consistently otherwise he'll never get fully fit again. Also if the standard is low then that's all the better. Inter mixed with this is plenty of Euro games and he will play alongside truly gifted players. I see no issue with the transfer.
Rukavina scored today so i can see why he wants to stay as he still has a chance there. Vrucina's a different issue. Vrucina does not have a first team place and Dinamo is a bigger club than Hapoel. Vrucina stepped up from Slaven Belupo. He'll come back no worries. If we are not going to have a Euro standard team we at least need a HNL1 winning team. In my opinion Dodo will not help you win a title.
Dinamo scared the shit out of me today! I said it before and ill say it again I hate Biscan! So frustrating!
@Dave
Dudu made the right choice 100%!
He will be the first choice striker there and he will work his way back to form! Thsi is very very good news for the national team and for dudu's carrer!!!!!
Wenger said Eduardo was not in the cards… Naturally, he had to leave. As a soccer player, you don't want to sit on the bench. It's miserable. Ukraine does seem like a completely awful place, but maybe Eduardo will be able to regain confidence and the ability to be a serious threat once again. With Srna there, Eduardo should also be able to get a lot more touches and looks on the ball. I'm not sure how long the deal is, but if he comes out with a big season in Ukraine, he should be headed to a better league. Maybe Italy or Germany.
Re: Ante BBB
Bloody hell.. that was long. mine aren't as long winded as that are they. Oh crap!
Vrucina's wage can easily be topped. Hapoel can't live with Dinamo's financial situation at moment. The guys only worth 500,000. The match WAS horrible. I think Dodo is a dud. Never been a fan of Barbaric and Biscan is passed it.
I think basically forget Europe this season.
the brazilian born croat is no longer the same player he was before his injury. he has lost a step. he was never the fastest player, but now he is even slower.
He was going to be the 5th or 6th choice at forward for Arsenal, so it makes sense for him to leave if he wants a starting role and minutes to play.
Valencia???? If I am Valencia or any other top tier team, what I have seen from the brazilain bron croat since his injury to make me think this guys is a solution at the forward position.
He is back to where he was when he left dinamo, he has to prove himself all over again.
Great job guys on getting the interviews. You guys continue to impress me with your actions.
On another matter i'm not impressed with Eduardo transfer to ukraine. I feel he should of tried to battle it out in arsenal for one more year rather then throw in the towel. If he had to go i would of like to see him playing in a stronger league like spain. Or even germany. i understand he will get first team football, but he could of got that at valencia, he could of been the new DAVID VILLA. I'm quite dissapointed with this transfer.
ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS TRANSFER?
Vrucina is in Israel now, playing in a league above ours, for more money……no way he's coming back.
As for this match, Dinamo are lucky they faired an easy draw in the next round.
What a horrible game at Koper. Dinamo down by 3 and with Biscan expelled…anything could happen now.
for "celebrating me" nonsense.
I think you are giving yourself way too much credit.
"@ Ante BBB,
You were the most hated guy on CSR only a few months back and now you're a complete angel. What happened? Where did this new love for Dennis Fistonich come from? Will you be supporting Hajduk this season? What happened at the club…was it some sort of 'Castro' potion that you drank?
Prva Generacija wants to know!!!"
Kvartuc,
Perfect questions. Here we go:
-In regards to me changing,
Let's take a step back. It was not me who changed, it was this site and primarily you guys; I'm not the type of guy who changes. Let's be honest here…after your obvious bias towards Hajduk in the site's early days (look at 2008), Fisto's Kranjcar article, going to a Bosnian concert and that awful Inside Torcida piece to name a few, this site really couldn't go down anymore. Add in your previous resident communists who used to post and it really was a shit sandwich of a site.
That all changed after you guys finally decided to step your game up. Case in point: interviewing Stimac, interviewing Bogut, that piece on Indian Wells, changing your stance from pro-Hajduk to neutral (I like to think I had something do with this), Alpine Village, the Redknapp and Kranjcar interviews, the Crottenham vs. Quakes piece and most importantly getting rid of the commies who used to be on this site. You guys have just been getting better and better and better.
There really is nothing for my fat ass to bitch about anymore but rest assured, if you guys start slipping, I will be the first one to call you out.
About me and Fistonich,
The guy already had two strikes when I first met him: a Hajduk supporter and the Kranjcar article. When I first met you guys in person, do you remember what I first told you all? You guys are morons, Fisto's an idiot but I believe in your site and its potential. Fisto straight up told me that up to that point, he honestly believed he was right about Kranjcar; I naturally disagreed and then the drinks started flowing and we started to talk and kept in touch. I talked to Fisto a little more, saw this guy knew a lot and turned out to be pretty funny. He owned up to the fact that he made a mistake which is what a real man does. He earned a lot of respect after he owned up to it. However, what changed the most was seeing that the guy is a real navijac. Even I was blown away. All he wanted to do was sing his heart out no matter what, even despite the people around us who didn't want to. He kept at it. Like I said, the guy is a true navijac and any true navijac gets my respect and friendship.
Sorry for the Dinamofan novel response.
Oh and let it be known that I WILL NEVER SUPPORT HAJDUK.
Hope that answers it. Just curious, what was the percentage of hate mail I received and how many people actually hated me…or still do?
I naprijed PLAVI
just watched the first half and boy do we need a striker.
Theres some guys in our team who aren't up to it. They are fine for being on the bench but should not be starting matches. Dodo needs loaning out. I think turning to Rukavina was a nice idea as at least it shows were trying to offer a chance to a Croat. Ruki would have seen more football at us than he ever would at Panathanaikos but he's too much money. its not worth it.
It would appear Darko Bodul is in the plans of Ajax as they have let too many forwards (Pantelic & Rommerdahl) go.
So next on list is trying for Bojan Vrucina. I still think we should go for Bosnjak as well as i personally believe we won't find our answer in one signing but by spreading goals around the team. If Bosnjak can give us 8 goals in the league it'll be worth it. Dodo looks to me like he might attract the boo boys this season and that is negative for the team.
Rukavina was meant for the 100 meter dash, not soccer. As I hadjuk fan I would hope he goes to Dinamo, because he will do nothing at dinamo.
Plus, I dont see him wanting to come back to cro (he has already statesd that), it would be an admission of defeat by coming back to the cro league.
Re: Rukavina
it doesn't look like he wants to come which i thought would be the case. I just think Rukavina would have been far too expensive to sign and that's all. Whilst he still has a chance in Greece he won't come to Croatia.
Its no big problem. Where'd we turn next. i'm starting to go along with your Andrej Kramaric suggestion.
@dinamofan
I know your not down with signing Rukavina but I on the other hand think it would be a great signing! I see his as a 15-20 goal scorer!
I hope they get him!
@ the anonymous post
Yes I know the large number of you in southern ontario. I have famuily up there, but a handful of guys going to san jose, well i'm not so sure that shows that people from the ontario diaspora go 'everywhere".
My point still stands, a hajduk-dinamo game in the states will not attract a large number of people from outside the city it would be held in. Maybe 50 or so from each city would make the trip.
Judging by the sign at the game, I thought some of you may enjoy this that I ran across 🙂
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0Osj27Mc9Y
Well Davor he might not care but lets not forget he played in the HNL at one point and lord knows how far back this betting scandal goes back and which teams were involved…..the facts will slowly come out wait and see. So far 22 arrests have been made. Trust me
if AC Milan and Juventus can fix, im sure Dinamo and Hajduk arent too far behind..both clubs which Niko happened to played with.
As far as the controversial question with Kranjcar goes, he responded very well. I don't think he really cares about that shit as he shouldn't. He doesn't play HNL anymore so I think he has more important things on his mind. Niko is a class act, svaka cast to Niko and CSR
@ziva istina
im not sure if you know that the ontario diaspora is huge. croats from southern ontario go everywhere. we are planning to come to one of the famous san jose 10 travanj festa. so yeah, youre wrong brah.
First off,
I want to thank my busniess partner Denis Svircic on CSR's most successful and EPPIC day yet. Although you didn't get the Modric and Corluka interviews you wanted, you ran things behind the scenes and filmed like a pro during mine. James Cameron would be proud.
Fantastic job with the camera and the credential applications while I was in Croatia. None of this could have happened if you didn't hustle at the end.
We're money baby! This is only the beginning of great things to come. I would pour my heart out to you, but I don't think I could top Ante B's comment earlier. He definitely has the Marshmellow department covered!
@ Ante BBB,
You were a fantastic host to Team CSR at Casa de Bad Blue Boys. I expected 3 star treatment, u delivered 5. Tell chef cook Kristina that dinner was excellent and that she should have her own Food Network show…with Nicole as soux chef of course.
Now to you turning your back on the dark side….
You were the most hated guy on CSR only a few months back and now you're a complete angel. What happened? Where did this new love for Dennis Fistonich come from? Will you be supporting Hajduk this season? What happened at the club…was it some sort of 'Castro' potion that you drank?
Prva Generacija wants to know!!!
@ ziva istina,
I can tell you've been on the scene with that first comment. It was a complete mess as the players left the locker room. Absolutely no organization from MLS. No prep time for us. We had repoerters doing their own thing all around us. It was basically jungle ball. Everyone for themselves. We made the best of it.
For those of you saying that Niko was 'out of it', I would have to disagree. He came out of the locker room and gladly stopped by on his way to the bus to talk to us for a few minutes. He could have said no comment to the betting scandal question, he didn't.
Modric was a little rat and escaped the scene as he walked by when we were talking to Kranjcar. No harm, no foul.
Corluka was cool to all the fans at halftime but when I asked him "can we have 2 minutes" (in Croatian) on his way out of the locker room, he replied with "I didn't play today" and walked right by us.
@ Fisto & Ante
Great sign and great organization for what you had. You guys jumped on the players at HT and they responded. Luka and Niko also looked at the sign while the were warming up and giggled something to each other. I didn't want to bring that up in the locker room though.
@ Anonymous'
We ARE looking into upgrading the site onto a better template. I think we have outgrown Blogger. Any recomendations?
I do NOT write for The Sun. They took the story just as some Croatian media did without giving us credit. This will be addressed in the next few weeks as we will be sending a press release to all these media outlets. This is worse than junior high plagiarism.
@ People who want Crottenham shirts,
They are now off the site. However you can place an order through an email to croatiansoccerreport@gmail.com.
They will be $25 a piece since we now have to make a new batch since demand is so high. That includes shipping anywhere in the world.
Finally…
To all our supporters and Prva Generacija,
Thank you for all the kind words and support. It means the world to me. This site runs because of you guys and all of your input and say in everyday activities. If you ask you shall receive. I hope we answered some of your questions during this Tottenham visit to San Jose.
Remember, this is only the beginning. Stick with us. All of you. Tell your friends, family and neighbors about CSR. Let's make it huge and known around the world. Croatians are stronger in numbers. If we can do that, then you haven't seen anything yet!
-ante kvartuc
You've definitely outgrown this website dude. Time to step CSR's game up and maybe get a site with a forum, some NT player bios and dedicated portions of the site for Croats abroad, an HNL report, U-19/20/21 report, diaspora teams (Melbourne Knights, Toronto Croatia, Croatian Eagles of Milwaukee, etc.)
Just shooting out some ideas. Keep up the good work bro.
What is this, is a celebration of me.
Yeah, good job, but you guys will arrive when your website can make money, not when other media outlets link to you.
Where do I begin…..
First off, I would like to congratulate Denis & Ante for their outstanding coverage this weekend. This weekend was an absolute firecracka and it was an honor to be part of it all. Both interviews were phenomenal, great line of questioning for both, and you know you have arrived when British tabloids are stealing your shit 🙂
@Ante BBB,
Thank you for all of your hospitality this past weekend. Attending the game with you and your crew was a great experience. It is an honor and a privilege in calling you a friend, and I am anxious in joining you once again in the tribine sometime in the near future.
@ Crottenham and Harry Redknapp
I can only speak for myself, and apparently Corluka was being a dickhead to the CSR team in the locker room, but it was an honor shaking his hand and receiving his kind words at halftime during the game. We yelled "Javi se" to Luka and Niko and they responded back, that moment by itself made the weekend. Regards Harry Redknapp, this man is a true class act. I've been a fan of his since his days at West Ham… True class, and the fact he mentioned Hrvati from the past was "fantastic."
@Niko Kranjcar
Playing for yourself is nice, but you also play for the fans. Lets hope you can repeat your perfomence this past season and direct that in the years to come, especially with the reprezentacija.
Once again, it was a fantastic weekend shared with fantastic people. Thank you to those who were a part of it, you know who you are.
Leave n come back
Just saw this on Index.hr
http://www.index.hr/sport/clanak/video–hrvati-u-americi-bbb-hoce-istinu-torcida-kodeks-a-mi-hocemo-picku/502524.aspx
I'm also desperately want to buy a Crottenham-shirt, size L.
Just say how and when!
Thanks in advance,
Brane from Sweden
I wanted to know if he felt Rakitic, Modric and himself can manage to play together in midfield. He was singing the praises of Rakitic a year ago.
HNL1 questions should have been national team questions but cool interview nevertheless.
I'm reading that we strongly trying to buy Ante Rukavina. I do not give this signing my approval. Nothing shows me this guys a 20 goal striker or a number 9. I knew Zajec was after him, but i really hope he rejects. I also not keen on the 28 year old Japan striker being linked. I'm actually starting to think give Andrej Kramaric a try out now.
Good to hear Vranjes is coming to Hajduk as that will improve them 20% from the team they were in the Super Cup. Looks like a fierce battle for the title this season. Hajduk still need a striker. I also think watch out for Belupo, Osijek, Karlovac as some of there preseason results looked decent.
What do I make of Kranjcar's reaction to the match fixing question?
Firstly, I thought it was a stupid question for him. Not everyone has such an interest, or dare I say fetish, for match fixing as you do. He has nothing to do with match fixing so why bother him about it. He did answer a stupid question very politically though.
Great job fellas, the site's gone through a tough period after the failure to qualify for the WC but you've managed it well.
The site of Harry Redknapp wearing a Crottenham shirt while reaching down to pick up another one is priceless.
Bronk,
The reason Kranjcar said nothing has been proven is because nothing has- there's something called due process. Arrest doesn't equal guilt…
Kranjcar had the right reaction. In fact, he should have not said anything. He doesn't play anymore in the HNL, so it does not impact him. The question was legit and so was kranjcar's answer.
Look at it this from Kranjcar's point of view. He usually speaks with reporters who cover the team on a daily basis or with websites and blobs that are bigger and have a respected reputation. He sees a young kid at the microphone who looks like he is in his young 20s, so I doubt Kranjcar is thinking these guys are actual journalists. He probably has never heard of the website and has no clue what to expect. He gave a bland answer, as he should. I say this with no disrepect aimed at the guys who run this website. Croatian Soccer Report or or any other name, Kranjcar would have had the same reaction.
Nobody is going to say anything on this. These guys are all aware of the rumors and are aware of the funny business within cro soccer, but they will not say anything publically. And why should they.
Fantastic stuff guys, pretty awesome to see that ESPN article-nice find Ivica. The momentum this site has gained over the past few months has amazed me. Keep up the good work!
@king bronk
I too think Kranjcar was uncomfortable with the match fixing question but I'm not sure what to think of it.
Oh wow you guys are being followed by the big boys now. ESPN and the Sun is a pretty big deal.
@ante k
After you threw that crottenham shirt at the crowd there was a girl that had the shirt that was screaming for an autograph. Since you were the only one around, did you give it to her…
Anyways, great questions and nice simple interviews. When Harry was ready to go, you got the point and stopped the interview. You guys just keep outdoing yourselves.
Ya he didn't say much about match fixing but it was obvious he was uncomfortable with the question.
I thought his statement that nothing has been proven is laughable with the 22 arrests. It was fantastic that the question was asked. Thats true reporting…not just raw raw stuff. Great Job! You just keep asking those tough questions!
What did you guys make of Kranjcars reaction to the match fixing question?
Good stuff with the videos. For those of you that dont ever get tha chance, its always interesting to get the behind the scenes angle on some this.
The locker room or media zone after a game is always tough to grab and get a meaningful interview. Well done.
As for the idea of having the Croatian SuperCup played in the US or Canada. I hate to be the nay-sayer, but a couple of problems why it would not work.
1. Dinamo is currently in the qualifying stages of the champions league and there is no way they would be able to play a european match on Wednesday and then fly to NYC or Toronto for a Saturday SuperCup match and then fly back for another mid-week match. The reason it worked for the Italians is because neither of the two teams had to play a mid-week european match and the italian season starts late.
2. I'm not sure if you get more than 5,000 people outside of Toronto for such a match. Yeah, each city with croatians would have about 100-200 people making the trip and that is it.
When the U-21 team was in the states and Canada (with Da Silva, Modric, Corluka) they had about 500 at their matches and that is a generous figure.
Can't wait to check out the videos! I'm on a 3 hour conference call with a large client so I will have to wait until noon EDT to watch… thanks in advance!

Hey Ante,
I did not know that you were writing for the SUN. After watching your video with Harry Redknapp and reading this (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3059613/Tottenham-close-to-signing-Stipe-Pletikosa.html) article I just put one and one together and figured it was you the wrote the article. That or the SUN is reading Croatian Soccer Report and stealing from you guys.
CroCrew~
CSR made ESPN.com!
@Slaven
I dont know…that dos eqies guy is pretty damn cool! Did you know he had a staring contest in the mirror with himself……and won!
fellas….you absolutely killed it once again, hats off to you.
How great was it when Vedran switched hats with the young lady.
HAHA! Pure class!
Greetings Dijaspora!
Big hello from Zagreb, Croatia! Great job about this page, very good videos!!
Keep watching croatian football and football players and i hope we all will be proud of them!
remember, CROATIA LOVES YOU ALL!!
Anonymous,
You first buddy, come closer Romeo.
Great work guys really enjoyed the videos. King bronk I hope you can see the harsh realities of match fixing. Niko kept his mouth right shut because if he mentioned something suspicious, an 'investigation' would have been launched by FIFA.
By the way guys Eduardo just signed for shaktar for 6 million pounds.
ante B,
just kiss already
Hey guys,
Thanks for the great interviews. I'm a huge Spurs fan and with that I've learned to love our Croatians. The Croatian national team is now my second favorite behind the States. Are the Crottenham tshirts available for sale anywhere online? I would love to get my hands on one.
Great interviews by the way, appreciate it.
Andrew
Well, here we go.
First off I would like to thank the two beautiful ladies who came up from Los Angeles this weekend. You delighted us with your presence amidst the cesspool of socially unacceptable and inappropriate banter that apparently defines us as a group. You are the epitome of patience and thanks for being the moral compass in the dark abyss of our immaturity; it must have been hard-
And yes, that is what she said.
Keeping objectivity in mind, I would like to congratulate the infamous trio of Ante Kvartuc, Denis Svircic and most importantly Dennis Fistonic (HvarSplicanin).
Allow me to address you all individually:
Kvartuc,
Congratulations is an understatement. You have outdone yourself and this is by far the best thing that has happened to CroatianSoccerReport.com. Your interviews alone have transcended Harry Redknapp from a coach to honorary Croatian. CSR is your calling. Stay the course and great things will happen.
Svircic,
Never have I met a person so calm and collected in my entire life. Your knowledge of soccer is impeccable as is your ability to catch an event through a camera lens, especially of the Croatian supporters and their banners respectably. You had told me earlier today that you expected this weekend to be a 9 on a scale from 1-10 (10 the best) and that it turned out to be a 15; I completely agree. CSR is nothing without you. Continue doing what you have been doing since you first started this site.
Fistonic,
Where do I begin? What was once a volatile and bitter correspondence has now been turned into a friendship. While Denis and Ante are the brains of the operation, you are the pulse in the tribine. While all looked bleak yesterday and with the fleeting chants, you were the only one who said "keep going." You are a true navijac and I would be proud to carry my colors and go to a game with you whether it be Croatia, Dinamo or (gulp) Hajduk. You made my weekend when we put up OUR flag during halftime and met the players. I will never forget that as long as I live. Svaka cast!
Thank you all for the compliments. Being a great host requires great company which all of you are. My doors are ALWAYS open whenever you guys are in San Jose. The best part of this weekend was that now I can officially call you my friends.
Please continue doing the outstanding job that you have been doing. I believe in you guys and in your site. Let it be known now, you will change Croatian soccer and definitely have an influence in its future whether you know it or not. I'm proud of all of you.
Thank you for letting me be part of CroatianSoccerReport.com team.
I wish you nothing but the best and lots of success because you deserve it.
HVALA VAM!
ZIVJELA HRVATSKA!
Great day in SF. The only sad thing was not finding uncle Jesse…I know you guys wanted to interview and give him a Crottenham T-shirt.
Just want to agree with everybody and tell you guys, "Well done!" I'm even prouder to wear my (newly arrived) Crottenham shirt, now. It's for real about Pletikosa? The shirt has power. I expect 3 more Croat transfers by the end of the month . . .

Your video is goal.com if you weren't aware. Good exposure, maybe it time you update this awful looking site…. Constructive criticism

great great great work guys…page is awesome..im up to date on all my croatian players and news…great interview with harry!…i duno niko kranjcar seems a bit like he had better things to do, hes not very social ive heard also…hes a laid back dude …great jon covering this…i have my tickets for tott n red bull! ill be wearning my cro jersey!
Harry is cooler than that guy from the Dos Eqis beer commercials.
Big props to CSR for this. I remember when it was all just text scores here. Now you've got big shot interviews and video highlights…hvala.
Dude that was a sick interview!
Major Props! You asked the tough questions…real major league reporting! It was very interesting to see his reaction when the whole topic of match fixing came up…He seemed a little uncomfortable to say the least. He couldn't stop holding himself when he was talking about it, like he was on a scary roller coaster. As for his statement that it hasn't been proven yet…22 people have been arrested so far in Croatia in the past few months…where there is smoke there is fire.
Tell him to go to croatia soccer report for the facts! 🙂
excellant interview. its no surprise Niko spoke to you as he did that all the time for portsmouth f.c publications. you tube is loaded with kranjcar portsmouth interviews.
I'm really happy Eduardo's joining Shakhtar. He'll feel very comfortable there, has champions league football there. He won't need to settle much with half a team of Brazilians and Srna alongside him.
Also playing in that league should get his confidence back and get him ready for the national team. i can't think of a better move for reviving him. If Mladen Bartulovic can score 6 from left back, i'm sure Eduardo can manage a few in Ukraine.
All that needs to happen now is for Ivan Klasnic to get himself sorted and for Nikica Jelavic to transfer to Blackburn though there could be work permit issues there. Klasnic may go to Hoffenheim as a replacement for Vedad Ibisevic who is wanted by half of Serie A.
With Kolarov transfering to City for so much money Hajduk may recieve a bid on Strinic or even Ibricic.
Dinamo and Hajduk may look a little bit light by the end of the transfer window. It really might be best to buy something small time as both sides are really going to struggle to attract players.
I'm starting to believe now sticking with Slepicka and Kramaric may be the way forward. I'm not sure there is anything out there which is any better. Hajduk should move on Vugrinec and Alispahic.
You guys were also mentioned on JutarnjiList

Great stuff guys. Keep it up!
Its been awhile since I commented..I've been crazy busy working in Detroit..Just wanted to say great job Ante..CSR was mentioned on Sportske Novosti today which is awesome..You guys are doing some big things.. I really enjoyed the interview with Harry Redknapp..
I like the idea about the Super Kup game in Toronto, New York, Chicago, etc. I could see between 15000-20000 people coming out for that. I'm just not sure how that would work with the Hrvatski Nogometni Savez..
Hope you guys are all doing well and keep up the good work

Great work guys!
Nice job getting the Pletikosa scoop from Redknapp… he seems like a chap that "gets" us for sure.
I would like to thank Ante B and Hvar Splican for the amazing banner and organizing our Croatian fans in attendance.
Ante Kvartuc was on fire from start to finish. Ante called for NIko Kranjcar, I was hoping to land Luka Modric and our buddy Vedran tried to interview Vedran Corluka. Vedran surprised us all by denying our interview request, "I didn't play." Bija je u kurcu, jebiga. Niko Kranjcar was next to come out, Ante stepped up to the plate and delivered. While I was taping the interview with my right hand and taking pictures with another camera in my left hand, Luka Modric supposedly came out and walked right by without any of us noticing.
Then we saw Harry, and Ante again stepped up and delivered.
@Ivo Miljanovic,
I will have Ante answer this question..
We are still up here in San Jose and returning late Sunday night. Monday morning we will update with pictures.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and support
If Croatia ever needs/wants a foreigner as a coach, should be Harry. His devotion to Croatians is beyond doubt. He must have been a Croat in a previous life.
Ante, great stuff my friend. One question though, how come those people outside the stadium didn't have to pay anything for the Crottenham T-shirt? Hehehe. Congratulations for the amazing interview.
Wow, great interviews Ante…and yes we should get Harry a Croatian citizenship…lets just hope the boys can stay healthy this season and kill it in the Champions League!!!

There it is!
Awesome stuff guys! I hope we get a turnout like that next Sunday in New Jersey.
Niko seems like a really nice guy..really great of him to give you guys a few minutes of his time.
What a class act Harry is! Can we get this guy Croatian Citizenship?? If there were one person outside of Croatia that I would want to coach the NT, he is that man for sure.
there is a great british website calle 101greatgoals.com just thought id like to tell you guys that they mentioned you. good stuff! pozz iz kanade
CLASSIC MATERIAL Guys, awsome interviews, top footage, & superb overall..
Good onya ARRY great interview..Makes me proud to be a longtime Spurs supporter..
Ante, also wanted to ask you if you got those XXL Crottenham Shirts, im after 2 shirts, even if you got XL, that might do, Let us know so i can fix ya up some payment, hook us up with your paypal adress & let me know how much you want..shipping would be to the land of Australia..peace
Hi guys, you have a great page and community over there…your reports are very interesting and seem written by pros…also, your campaign for cro national team to play over there is a great idea…but wouldn't be great if next supercup match against hajduk & dinamo were played in la,toronto or some other city with lots of croats…something like ac milan and juve did few years ago…maybe that would be to expensive for our clubs but i think it would payed off to everybody…keep up the good work and:
NIKO kao HAJDUK IZ SPLITA!!!
good shit. What a boring fucking game though
That's great stuff from Redknapp glad to see how he feels about Croatians in general. Good stuff guys.
