A tough blow for Josip Stanišić as the 25 year-old Bayern Munich/Croatia defender partially tore a ligament in his right knee Wednesday in a 3-1 Champions League victory over Chelsea. Stanišić got the start but limped off the field under his own power in the 51st minute. Per FCBayern.com, “FC Bayern will be without Josip Stanišić for the foreseeable future. The defender suffered a partial rupture of the medial ligament in his right knee during Wednesday’s Champions League opening win over Chelsea (3-1). The diagnosis was confirmed during an examination carried out by the FC Bayern medical unit.”
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany added, “He’ll miss a few games. We hope he can be back after the international break.” That is reassuring and will likely mean Stanišić will not require surgery. However, this means that Dalić will be without a defensive anchor come October 9th for the all important World Cup qualifier vs. Czechia in Prague.
This is all Chalobah’s fault for going into a 1v1 on Stani and ruining his Knee there. If we don’t win against Czechia then this will be all on him IMO.

In order to annoy Anonymous most of the upcoming HSV matches are while T is playing too – argh!
In any event, Anonymous is committed to watching Luka’s first half live (assuming he’s starting) at a minimum – as T doesn’t come before the Croatia NT
