UPDATE: Gvardiol suffered a broken nose and picked up a pretty mean black eye Wednesday night. He has been cleared to play in the World Cup and is expected to wear a mask. There were no signs of any breaks/fractures in his skull. Croatian hard head. 🙂
The concerning news of the day is Joško Gvardiol, who is slated to start in the Croatian back-4 at the World Cup. Gvardiol went up for a header Wednesday night and slammed his face against his own teammate. He was subbed out immediately in RB Leipzig’s 3-1 win over Freiburg. Reports out of Croatia are saying Gvardiol will have an X-ray/MRI in the morning to see the extent of the injury. Now, there’s a lot going on here as Gvardiol could have a concussion, broken nose, or orbital fracture; or a combination of all three. But it seems like just a broken nose.
If he picked up a concussion, he should be fine for the World Cup. However, a broken nose would mean he would have to wear a mask and any kind of orbital fracture could see him possibly ruled out of the World Cup. Gvardiol is a big boy but it looked like he was part of a losing UFC title fight effort as he walked off the pitch. Gvardiol is one of the keys to Croatian success in Qatar. If he’s not able to play, that would be a huge loss. The most recent reports are saying he has a broken nose, per NewsInFrance and a quote from Dalić in Jutarnji.
We are now exactly 2 weeks away from Croatia’s World Cup opener against Morocco on November 23rd and one week away from their lone friendly – against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh – on the 16th. The 26-man squad has been made official, but who is in finest form?
Wednesday night in Serie A action, Nikola Vlašić easily took ‘Man of the Match’ honors with a goal and assist in Torino’s 2-0 win over Sampdoria. He has found a nice, comfy home in Northern Italy and has been the Nikola Vlašić we all know he can be this campaign. He has gotten out of the bright lights of London (West Ham) for Torino, who are expected to finish middle of the pack. It will be interesting to see who Dalić plays on the right flank, but if Vlašić can be aggressive at the World Cup with the confidence he already picked up this season, we should expect a goal or two from him in Qatar.
Marcelo Brozović came off the bench for a second straight game for Inter Milan Wednesday night in a 6-1 win over Bologna. Brozović is coming off a month-long thigh injury that he picked up in September. He played 30 minutes against Bologna, and even though he may not be 100% yet, this is a great sign for the World Cup as he has two more weeks to get stronger.
Both Borna’s assisted on game winners this week as Borna Sosa supplied a corner kick at the death which was headed home for a 2-1 Stuttgart win over Hertha Berlin. Borna Barišić sent a perfect low pass to Rangers teammate Malik Tillman in the middle of the box for a 1-0 victory over Hearts. Sosa is expected to start in Qatar alongside Ivan Perišić. Both are crossing wizards, but will the Vatreni have a point-man ready to meet them on the other end?
Luka Modrić had one of his worst games for Real Madrid Monday night in a loss to Rayo Vallecano. But who cares as long as he is healthy?!
Mateo Kovačić played the full 90 minutes for Chelsea in a Carabao Cup match against Man City where both sides looked to play their B-squads. City easily handled Chelsea 2-0 with the Londoners looking like a shell of themselves. We will see what happens after the WC, but Kova may have to get out of West London for the sake of his career. Chelsea are bad.
Correction on my last post…round of 16 game.
I never understood why Perisic wouldn’t be a PK taker. He was subbed out early in this game.
Here in Canada they are showing the 2018 QF game vs Denmark.
We really could use 2018 Rebic at RW not to mention Mandza (and his flops) 😁
When Rebic plays well, he gives us a dimension we are missing. In the first half Perisic actually played RW then he and Rebic swapped positions at halftime.
I forgot that Broz was subbed out early this game but Rakitic’s solid play filled his shoes.
The stress is watching this PKs and the memories….awesome.
We had tin Jedvaj and filip bradaric in our 23 last time
Two guys in relative obscurity now
Not saying it can’t happen with any of the guys now
But I believe our bench guys are definitely deeper then 2018…
Didn’t bradaric assist on the biggest goal in croatian football history?
No it was Pivaric. Where the hell did he disappear to?
Saudi Arabia
I don’t think bradaric saw a moment at the World Cup
I don’t know if jedvaj did either
I think caleta played against Iceland if memory serves me correct
Oh pivaric. Google says he is at lokomotiva
Yeah, Pivaric just sort of disappeared. I know strinic got hurt but I always thought Pivaric wasn’t that bad. Wasn’t all that great either but heroes come and go.
Just reading in SN that Sosa and Jakic have minor injuries but should be OK for the WC. Both expected to miss Bundesliga matches this weekend.
Nabijen kanadu na kurac
We better kill that chernik with 5 komada 5 komada
Its funnt who arrogant some of these tsn and youtubers podcasters from canada are ill just say play to your strength control the ball like the Paris game vs france and i think semi finals are ours then what happens.
I have a feeling thrid place for us for some reason.
If that is the case, we need to duct tape Lovren’s hands and arms to his side to have a chance, and not lose by in box penalty kicks.
Gvardiol in a mask
https://twitter.com/footcroate/status/1591125906554175488?s=21
No way he won’t play and play hard
We need majer with his
Cause those two together really are Batman and robin in stature
Corluka on the sidelines with the water polo cap
Man that’s legendary now when you think back lol
Canada is not a strong side. I’m so tired of Canadian fans and casuals arguing with Croatian and Moroccan fans on Twitter that they’re contenders to win the group. Their midfield and defense are extremely poor and I’m tired of hearing otherwise. If Croatia can handle Mbappe and Benzema, why would Canada pose any threat.
That being said, Morocco will be a tricky side. Definitely a team we should be beating, but Dalic has to be careful. Going all-out for that first game is really important.
It looks like Lovren and Gvardiol will be starting in the middle, which isn’t ideal. I know we played well in our 3-1 win against Austria, but watch the highlights; Austria should’ve put at least 2 more goals past us, and I’d put the blame on that Gvardiol-Lovren pairing.
It seems like soccer is such a low scoring game, and a goal so hard to come by on the professional level, with the exception of the Germany/ Brazil final. It seems easy to have a generally “inferior” team, beat a “superior” team on a particular given day unfortunately. A little serendipity, luck, and god’s partiality, is generally a prerequisite.
Further to Jo’s note, I can’t believe how many pundants have us 3rd or 4th? It’s shocking. Dalic isn’t smart enough but I’d be posting these all over the room and have the boys see what these morons are saying- one Canadian reporter has Canada 4- Croatia 0- LOL the old saying “don’t get mad, get even” AJMO MLADI
Lolol 4-0. Where is this??
If anyone should be cocky it’s us
They have no real big stage experience
I’m a Canadian and for sure they could be dangerous but come on do something first before you talk shit
We fell out of form but now are battling and have been in fine form
Luck favours opportunities and I feel we will create plenty
They have dangerous pieces but even missing rakitic we should be able to control the midfield even against Belgium
We should be able to play the way we want
4-0. Do something before talking that kind of smack
Canada did well but do you think Mexico does well rolling into Edmonton in February lolol
Just play our game
HNL gonna represent
Yes, most of the Canadian media is getting caught up in the excitement. There are a few dumb pundits making outrageous claims- most, however, are realistic about their chances. Croatia looked good in the last 3-4 games and are deeper than in 2018. I like our chances to progress to the quarters (with some luck, further!). That said, like my dad used to say: “ ponekad magarac prvi završi”. So don’t underestimate anyone- even Canada.
I think we really need to assess the mental health impacts these COVID lockdowns had on Canadians.
I see a lot of people talking about how hard the path is, I thought that too, BUT if Croatia were to win the group and a couple minor things happen (wc is never chalk) the bracket opens way up and the run the semis becomes very manageable. The key is win the group
https://predict.fotmob.com/wc2022/wheel/ba134db2-91f8-44d9-bcaf-e56cba30fbea?ts=1667682176818
Here’s a quick simulator
In my simulator we got third
But how I know it’s bull is
Spain was 4th in their group and Australia won their group
Gtfo
Spot on.
If we finish second in the group we gotta go thru a Brazil in the Quarters then Argentina in Semis
If we win the group we can play Serbs in the quarters and England or France Semi
That would be awesome
To go at Serbia on the world stage and then bear France
Not saying that would happen but that would be insane
Portugal will be our opponent in the quarters.
They’re in form and there’s no way they lose to the Serbs again (if the Swiss don’t take the Serbs out first).
Disagree strongly
One game elimination,
Serb can overcome portugal in a one off … legit possibility
Anything is possible, sure…but I’m saying it’s unlikely for them to beat Switzerland AND Portugal to get into the quarters.
Switzerland just beat Spain, Portugal and Czech in their last three Nations League games. That’s three wins in a row (2 against elite teams who were all trying to win).
Switzerland also eliminated France at Euro2020 and almost did the same to Spain (and ended up losing in a PK shootout).
It will be very hard for Serbia to win against the Swiss. Serbia has been playing well this past year, but so has Switzerland (and against better opponents). What the Swiss just did in the past year (one win against Portugal, and two wins against Spain) is more than Serbia won in their history against top opponents.
I like Serbia’s top talents more…but overall, the two teams are a wash. That’s a coin toss match.
Portugal always fools around in qualifiers and regularly finishes second in qualifying.
I watched the game that Serbia won in Portugal, and the Portuguese were playing for the draw (the same way we tried to draw in Greece for Euro2012 qualifying).
They let Serbia have possession, and Portugal were mostly just playing long ball.
Portugal playing for a draw, then goalkeeper error from Portugal, and a beautiful late header from Mitrovic…and Portugal loses.
I doubt this happens again. Portugal will go hard at them, and Serbia’s defense won’t be able to handle it.
You know team displaced Albania will be all out against the Serbs. Who was it that scored and did the Albanian eagle or whatever?? Now that’s classic trolling
@ =u=
the “their players don’t play in the major leagues” is a common mistake made by many casual sports watchers. What we find through sports is often a real good team in a competitive but not elite level, can be pretty good. Just look at all the ncaa upsets of higher seeds by lower seeded team that won their conference. This is proved by the fact that they finished first in concacaf . This team is no joke. the lower league player argument, don’t be fooled.
This was the argument people made against mexico in 2014 world cup that their players just play in the mexican league.
In terms of lovren, houston we have a problem. This guy is definitely starting. Tragic really. Dalic was finally forced to push the issue at get new defenders in in champions league cause of Lovren’s injury. He did so, and croatia went 3-1-1 against france, denmark, and austria, holding both denmark and france scoreless on occasion. Lovren returned for Austria and of course was responsible for the goal.
The bottom line is, if Lovren is playing expect him to give away about .5 a goal a game. Dalic always falls back to this comfort position. Granted sometimes we think we know so much more from the outside. Dalic watches sutalo and erlic very closely I’m sure, and they haven’t exactly lit the world on fire despite our sample size of 2 games for each of them in nations league
@MART
https://croatiansports.com/decision-day-who-is-dalic-taking-to-qatar/#comments/488629
Thanks MART, good to hear Jakic is okay.
I think the schedule favors us.
Morocco the first match is ideal.
They are a very good side that I would not want to play 3rd and having to produce a result.
Canada vs Belgium match will be positive for us no matter the outcome. Courtois coming off sciatica issue not quite his all world self. Hungry hard running Canada could present Belgium problems.
DeBruyne is who he is, but current Belgium is not Man City. Lukaku may be more of a hindrance coming in out of shape than simply getting a rhythm without him.
Canada will not run us off the pitch, with our squad depth you will have to deal with us at our best. No part of the pitch will be an easy area to deal with. The same way folks will not be ready for Canada, Canada will not be used to the ball flowing all around them from our strong technical players who will have fresh legs all around to run for them.
The Belgium match will be another opportunity to establish who we are.
Just like beating France and topping our UNL group. Again, I am counting on our depth to come through as I hope key veterans did not have to go the full 90 against Moracco and Canada.
Also be great if a few of our young studs catch fire and announce themselves on the world stage.
Majer – magician
Vlasic (the big pickle)
Jakic – puts in a shift at CDM
Sosa – goes up and down the left
Gvardiol – who is that mask man
Erlic – tower of power
Šutalo – lock down
Sučić – generation NOW
The World Cup is the ultimate stage in football.
One or more of these boys has to breakthrough.
You make a great point. I’m so sick of these worry warts and defeatists like “the truth”. Take a step back and think about how the other teams are looking at us: “oh shit, Modric, Kovacic, Brozovic, Majer, Perisic, Gvardiol, Sosa, the team that just topped France & Denmark in Nations League and made the ’18 finals and got Bronze in ’98 in the last 6 world cups which are the only ones they could have played in in their history.
Dejan is
God.
I watched LIVE the press conference when Dalic announced the 26-man squad for the WC and questions from the media after. The way he was answering the question about the starting 11, I got the impression that Lovren will start the match against Morocco.
Main thing is that he shouldn’t start against Canada and Belgium regardless of how he plays.
makes our defence unsettled and shaky
so the other day i mentioned the positive…well now its time to mention the negative and why it’s so unlikely for croatia to perform this world cup..
this is the route of death
firstly, croatia is in arguably the most underrated group and arguably a group of death. It is underrated because these are not your usual staple names
Firstly there is belgium. Number 2 in fifa rankings. enough said. More importantly though
Canada: massively underrated because of their lack of pedigree. But for those who are not following, Canada did not sneak into this tournament but instead topped the Concacaf tables finishing in first with the highest goal differential (+16) and beating Mexico 2-1, the US 2-0, and Costa Rica 1-0. They are lead by a superstar who will be fit. The website would feel different if Croatia had Mexico as its third team.. Well turns out it has the team that beat Mexico.
Morocco: Morocco can lay their claim to best team in Africa, finishing their group 6-0 with the second highest goal difference amongst 10 groups of +19.
And as has been covered, even to emerge out of the group leaves a perilous path.
But mainly, I know people are penciling in easy wins against Canada and Morocco. Think again
You clearly don’t follow football closely. This is far from the group of death for several reasons.
Canada has never competed at this stage and only two players have experience at legitimate clubs, leagues and competitions: Davies and David. Besides that, it’s a team of MLS lower tier mediocre and below average players. Not to mention they only have faced concacaf nations. Defeating Mexico, USA or Costa Rica isn’t that impressive. Also, they rely heavily on stars. I never hear any mention of players besides the two big notable names.
Belgium isn’t he same level prior to even last Euros. One reason is that Lukaku has a tendon injury he suffered in late October. That’s a serious injury that will deplete his competitiveness. During his time from 2014-2018, he was a recking force and unstoppable. Now he has hardly played this year. De Bruyne and Courtois still worry me of course and are still in top shape. Not to mention that the back line is old and washed up. Croatia has better and fresher defending than Belgium. All the top defence are over 30. Castagne is a key and solid player. Besides him, that’s it. Mertens is old, Wistel can’t preform, Hazards are shitting the bed. It’s the trio of De Bruyne, Tielemans, and Hans Vanaken that are all solid and preforming. Upfront with Trossard and Lukebakio are the top picks to start. Belgium is overrated that depend heavily on Courtois to keep them standing. They are dealing with a multitude of injuries too.
Morocco is the only team that I’m concerned with. Our first game must be a win or it will be a tight group. Morocco has the capability of tieing Belgium or us. Hakimi, Mazraoui, Boufal, and the starting goalkeeper are all playing at top leagues and clubs. There’s other half decent players.
I’d say we are the best shaped squad in this group! Besides Gvardiol with a broken nose, Brozovic out and a few others I might be missing that aren’t big parts. That’s it.
Rankings don’t mean jack shit. When the whistle blows, all bets and what’s on paper are off.
Have faith man…not saying we’re going all the way but we got lots of youthfulness and still a mix of a few performing vets four years ago.
If anyone know courtois weakness’s it’s luka…
No one is easy but we can beat Everyone in the world…
Group of death for me is Brazil, Swiss, Serbia and Cameroon.
Not to be forgotten, the one dude on Canada plays for Porto and scored against Atletico last week or the week before, whenever that was.
I think we can beat Spain or germany in round of 16. We are a better team at the moment. Who is next after that? Argentina? Would be huge. Would be a huge test of our desire and ability but we can do it again. Yes canada and morocco are very difficult tests, it’s the world cup. That’s what it’s all about. Each game is like a final. It’s harder fr us fans than the players. Because we are plotting with paper and pens, the team is preparing on the pitch to win. They can make sure, we just have to have faith and wait nervously to see which version of Croatia the world will see. Huge. Difficult. World cup. But I have much faith in this team compared to previous years when we still suffered from mental midget syndrome. Remember?
“dudu look” “oh dudu look”. STFU you two faced F#GG#T. Why are you still here imbecile? How can you be loyal to Croatians and justify the end of the the race they belong to? STILL CAN’T ANSWER THAT QUESTION? What’s it going to take to get you to stop lying thru your f#cking teeth?
Luka with two crap games this week apparently
He is probably not Really there and is focused on Qatar
No way he can just drop off form
So much
This has to be it
Also time for the luka is injured posts to come out…
“Apparently?”
He left to a standing ovation yesterday. Certainly was not crap. Did you watch the game or going by apparently?
•••••
Managingmadrid.com: Luka Modric—7: Important in building out of the back and keeping the pace of play in Madrid’s final third. Somehow missed a full on sitter after being set up by Vinicius Junior in the second half, but it was the Croatian’s reverse pass from inside his own half that set the initial transition attack in motion.
Erlic, Šutalo are ready
Actually with the right partner, Lovren is serviceable as well.
Gvardiol will have the best technology with that mask and he will be ready.
Modrić is healthy and in shape.
That miss today was good to get out of his system before he joins Croatia.
Lovren is serviceable? How so? The only service he brings are disastrous ones. Conceding penalties and getting yellow cards every tournament.
Lovren has bad luck, but he’s a beast in the air, is a good tackler, and a good shot-blocker. He isn’t generally a smart player, but he’s a physical force. It’s a good sign of our depth that he’s on the bench.
I agree that he brings toughness, but he’s too easily outsmarted.
Anyone that wants a penalty, can get one from him.
Modric misses a sitter mere seconds after an outrageously great outlet pass. • Commentator said the pass was 2.5 million times more difficult than the shot.
Best depth we’ve ever had coupled with the worst goalkeeper we’ve ever had- I hope Modric has his mental psych training to get Liva ready to go- that kid always looks late for class – I don’t get it but that’s what we have in goal- best scenerio – no shots.
Tomo Butina was the worst at Euro2004.
Plete had a couple of bad tourneys too.
Hopefully Livaković can make a few stops.
Your right –
I tried to forget that guy from 2004-
Livaković played quite well in the return match against Chelsea. If he plays like that, then you’ll have to take back your statement. However, Ivusić or Grbić may beat him out for the starting spot. Both of them stepped in and got the team important wins when it was their turn.
You really think Ivusić or Grbić would start at the World Cup?
That ship has sailed. This is Liva’s spot now. Maybe after the World Cup, but only after a bad spell from Liva or injury.
Interesting article in Jutarni List. Blazevic talking about how he should never have let Nikola Jerkan play in Euro 96 with a broken nose and that it was a huge handicap. It’s even worse for a central defender because they have to do much more heading of the ball when defending free kicks and corners (and we all know that everyone’s arms are flailing in these situations and it’s easy to get hit in the face.)
I’d say he has a point but they didn’t have the fancy batman masks back then.
I’d say Josko will be ready to play in 2 weeks but with our depth at D maybe he shouldn’t play until the Canada game.
Decisions, decisions…
Bog i Hrvati
just need him ready for Belgium- if we can’t beat those other 2 -we shouldn’t even be there.
I recall that jerkan had a good tournament
It was stimac who fucked up against Germany
Josko will be fine
Broken nose for a central defender is a huge handicap with all the heading that will come his way from corners and set pieces. The fact is opposing teams will also try to exploit this knowing that Gvardiol has a broken nose.
@ Dannyj
Great point about our depth!
Have we ever gone into a World Cup with legit depth?
Now more than ever with 5 subs, our depth will be a factor.
We got quality coming in to matches that can shift proceedings.
Dalic has a lot more stature when it comes to making adjustments in game and during pool play and knockout rounds.
He may have to choose a line up based on tactics.
The core is there.
But a fine tune tweak here and there could make us less predictable than in the past.
I LOVE that folks are sleeping on us.
I am all eyes on Saudi Arabia warm up match.
I want to see all those X factor guys running for their minutes !!!
Great name for vlasic( the big pickle;)
Guys In Brazil we had Samir and were talking about bringing in that random French dude
Now we are cutting guys like brekalo who would have guaranteed starter in Brazil
As soul champ or Slavonic say we go as Perisic goes
And I think much of the outsiders(who seem to be sleeping on us again, thankfully 😉 do as well
But the depth will be huge
Count on the gvardiols, Sosa, majer, vlasic, orsic to give us this X factor
And course sucic
These guys seem to have the proper attitude to take on big teams
Maybe a bit naive and young but all have something to prove
Even a guy like JJ. His talent is probably not as strong as his energy but I expect him to over perform for some reason
We are going in mostly on a high
You can argue our midfield is not at their peak but maybe a month of rest for broz was in fact a good thing He should get a good half next match and we will see
Not a huge loss at all. In fact, it could be a blessing in disguise. Gvardiol is young and unpolished. Remember he’s great…for his age.
LOL.
Yea, and that 88 million Euro offer from Chelsea is a good transfer fee…for his age.
It’s like double our highest transfer fee no? Even taking in inflation it’s insane
If he plays amazing this worldcip we may see 100+
I mean… yes. You’re not wrong. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make. If you’re trying to say that if Gvardiol was 28 and the exact player he is now that he would still be bought for around 100mil you’re a silly man.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Ckx5Hl7K1FN/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Great news.
Just in, Joško’s World Cup is not in jeopardy! Fantastic news.
One of the best young CB’s itw.
@ Boris
“The big pickle!” Lmfao
Vlasic pickles for our dečki outside the US.
Vlasic pickles sold in Kanada.
Nice to see the big pickle revive his career at Torino and give us hope that he has a bright future.
I’m curious as to what happened to brekalo?
He had a nice season at Torino last year and I was certain his trajectory was upwards even though he’s back in Germany.
Anyone have any insight as to why he isn’t doing anything this year?
Has he been injured ?
Brekalo made a mistake of returning to Wolfsburg, he should have stayed at Torino. That decision has cost him a spot at the WC. Niko Kovac took over as the coach at Wolfsburg at the beginning of the season and according to a recent interview given by Brekalo he stated that Kovac wanted him to stay and that he was needed at the club. However, according to Brekalo the few games that he has started for Wolfsburg have been in the midfield rather than on the left-wing and as such he has struggled to impress. He has not been injured but has been sitting on the bench for most of the time, hence his omission from the WC squad.
I agree. From my perspective, he was doing great at Torino. He should have stayed another season or two. This would have really established a nice continuity of performance. I guess he went after the Euro sign. I think he was earning around 1.5 million at Torino. For a young player that should be enough. He can always earn the “big bucks” later on. He also had the looming WC. A very short-sighted decision.
Thanks Mart…another example of NIKO’s stubborn ways hampering progress!
Torino wanted him badly, but for them to pay a large transfer fee to Wolfsburg they would obviously want Brekalo to extend his contract (since it expires in June).
Brekalo wants to play in La Liga. Not sure why he think Serie A is no good. Torino was a good fit and it really showcased how good he can be.
Going back to Wolfsburg was a mistake, but I guess he thought teams would be asking for his services after the good Serie A season he had last year.
Now he will just ride this season out, and leave Wolfsburg on a free transfer to whichever team he wants (though he probably won’t get the money he thinks he’s gonna get).
He’ll bounce back next season, the same way Vlasic did this year.
I agree Maminjo I feel he’s just too talented and dynamic not to become a very solid player, regardless of his sleight frame?
With the right system and coach I’m confident he will be back on the national team in a year or less.
T – minus 6 days till our Saudi Arabia friendly in Qatar.
Great opportunity to acclimate to the surroundings.
Vlašić going to play for Jurić in Torino to ready himself for this moment is the gold standard move!
Vlašić will always be an asset as his direct style compliments our technicians in the middle. Now if he gets hot and starts making goal scoring plays as he is capable then we are in business.
Oršić has to be aggressive as he can run at defenses as well.
Majer is the goods.
Sučić is physically ready can he take that leap?
These 4 can have moments to take us to a new level as opposing sides will not really account for them.
Gvardiol will be ready. His injury will bring him hyper focus.
“You mess with the bull .. you get the horns!”
Solid finish from vlasic
He likes that low shot
It’s effective
Let’s see
Perisic livaja vlasic
For the hajduk offence
Then
Orsic petko majer for the Dinamo
Well someone last week or so mentioned here that Gvardiol looked very much like the Gladiators portrayed in the movie “300”. How kismet now that he will be wearing a similar mask! ( a la Majer ). Hope the Gladiator Mask and his imposing Physique adds to his intimidation of our opponents.
Hey bad news guys. Initial mri comes back and seems like gvardiol has a broken vag. Could take years to fix
Apparently Josko likes older women
Send a few mature aged nurses into his hospital suite
He will right in no time
We need Brozovic and Gvardiol if we want to do anything at this World Cup.
I’m confident we’ll get through Morocco and Canada with little problems (especially since we have Majer if Broz is not 100% fit), so that should give Brozovic another week to get fully fit and Gvardiol another week to heal up.
Belgium is the game we can take if we’re healthy. Belgium is overrated, but still a top team. We should be able to take them out, but we really do need both Gvardiol and Brozovic in that game.
The Belgium game is a little over three weeks away (Dec 1), and the knockouts a few days later (Dec 5 or 6).
Assuming no re-injury, they should both be getting better as the tournament progresses.
I’m hearing that Gvardiol has a broken cheekbone. If true, his World Cup is likely over before it started. Terrible news….. I really hope I’m wrong.
Where’d you read that?
https://www.instagram.com/p/CkwS_Ghsc0d/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
I googled it and broken cheekbones take about 6 weeks to heal.
The IG story is 6 hours old. I just posted a new article. Dalic and some French outlet saying only broken nose.
Let’s go with dalic on this one
Lovren is like why is everyone’s stressing
Hey if lovren wants to play like the best defender in the world again then let him;)
I feel gvardiol will be fine
He is young and is in prime time of life to heal quick
Just hope he doesn’t tAke any shots to the face for a bit
If Lovren in his Russian isolation has been preparing to win the world cup, then God bless him. It’s probably his last international tournament, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he brings his best attitude, fitness, and concentration. No more contracts to negotiate, no new coach or teammates to impress. Dejan has nothing to lose.
But we do.
