I was going through our YouTube channel this week when I ran into this little hidden gem. I haven’t watched it in probably 2-3 years but it really got me laughing. So I wanted to share once again since most of you in Prva Generacija are in it. CroatianSports.com officially launched in October 2011, eight months prior to Euro 2012. Now we’re two months away from Euro 2016. Boy, does time fly.
Great to see the video again!!!!!
Maminjo, that was a pretty good analysis bro, well said!
i mean do those cunts even know what happened?
Im sorry im ranting but serbs are the most degenerate race on the planet.. abso cunts
Fuck me those Serbs will seriously never learn
There really is no point talking to them
u catch a random serb on the street
“a random serb cunt appeared”
and ask them about vukovina and they’ll be like mihajlovic was – oh it was terrible cos serbs suffered
fucking cunts, absolute cunts with no grasp of reality
@Slavonac
I think Perisic can…but he’s only one player. He showed it a bit in that Italy game in Italy, where he was torching them, despite the distraction from our fans.
However, you need a few of these guys on the team, and it’s better if they are the veteran players.
Back in Euro 2008, we had Niko and Robert Kovac. We also had Simunic. They were all hardcore patriots and all of them were the older, veteran players that these younger guys would probably listen to or get influenced by.
Today, we have Modric as our veteran. The guy is a mouse. Rakitic is another, and he’s equally timid. Srna is just a budala, who only knows how to party and draw attention to himself on the field and in the locker. Probably a fun guy to be around, but not a guy that can get you to come back in a game.
The only other guys on the team that have potential (due to their toughness) are Mandzukic and Vida but those two are just dumb jocks. I love them both, but they’re front line warriors, and not ones to lead with their brains. Their physical play and relentlessness may become contagious, but we need some more players who can verbally charge up our team.
Our favourite fashionista himself!
http://www.espnfc.us/liverpool/story/2846426/liverpools-dejan-lovren-i-am-a-little-bit-cleverer-now
Is “cleverer” even a word?!..
@Ravni Kotari
“You try being that slow, while being so good.”
Very well said!
I still can’t believe 47% of nearly 650 voters think this team can be better than 1998’s.
Which players today could even step into that team?!
And before people start saying Modric and Rakitic think of who they’d replace…
As Iggy would ask, “Why would these cunts be shocked?
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-04-08/serbia-shocked-over-croatia-s-stance-on-opening-eu-chapters-ims0eq3s
I don’t know about you guys, but Carli is our best defender. He hasn’t been untouchable last 10 years for nothing. Super intelligent player. You try being that slow, while being so good.
@Rob I
Ha ha Theo Selamidis actually run an academy in Melbourne these days.
Stipe is fighting for the HWC soonish.. here is a lovely vid of him

I now love Perisic and I believe that he is a consistent performer, but I do not believe he is that leader, the guy that can lift the level of the game and make others follow his lead.
good points. Easy to look good when in the lead. Much different when you have to chase a game or go win points as opposed to protecting points.
Perišić has that.
But it seems like he is alone on an island with this team.
@Slavonac
unfortunately we do not have those qualities with this team of players
in a tournament, it is not always the “big name” players that make the difference, although…it is them that can most likely be the better players.
After all these years of following our repka, the most revealing thing I feel we lack is character/leadership. We are usually thin in this category, which affects a lot of how well we play.
when we look back at teams that do have great leadership, we usually see they get results, even when they are not the best on paper.
I’m more concerned with the lack of characters that can lead than I am about the few areas we are weaker…even if we were to have a very good starting 11 and 3 or 4 great subs, you still need people to lift you when you’re losing, we need fighters to sacrifice their body and win balls, we need role players that stick to their assignments and we need our better players to perform at their highest level, like they do for their clubs!
Just goes to show how weak we are at the position. Most don’t trust the player who may be our best defender. Sadly, he’s also our biggest name defender at the moment. I don’t think the ref would have thought twice about calling the pen on Corluka or anyone else. It was against Brazil in Brazil after all.
Equally painful was watching the soft Neymar shot trickle over the line as the aging Pletikosa tried to dive out of his lead boots.
Affirmative.
So, he’s on two pages??????
When you go on CroatianDictionaryForDiaspora.com and type in “kiks igrac” Lovren’s picture is the first to come up.
I agree with most of you on Lovren. The man is error prone big time. There is a reason why he is on the bench. There was a moment in yesterday’s match where he had a decent chance, his header goes straight to Weidenfeller then he decides to truck him in the 6 yard box! Surprised he didn’t get a yellow. Guy is a bonehead. Double yellow waiting to happen. Deserves to be on national team, but not as a starter.
Remember, it was Lovren who had his hands on the back of the Brazilian player at the World Cup. Just by putting his hands on that player invited the dive. (Yes, it was a dive, I know) A defender with a bigger name and bigger reputation would get away with that.
Schifo is reliable. Lovren is not. You know an error is coming with Lovern and it will critical to the outcome of the game.
Lovren will always fail during the most critical time, creating a free kick. I would rather have schifo any day of the week. Remember brazil. Defense has to play with intelligence . Give me the past anytime.
Anyone that rates Schifo over Lovren is stuck in 2012. No sensible person could think that.
If any player had that ratio it would be acceptable, but maybe not lovren still!
What about if for every goal Lovren was at fault for he scored 1.5 goals on average.. would he then be acceptable?
LOL, spose it depends in which games those goals come
it wouldn’t surprise me if someone worked out an algorithim like that for him tho – remember when he scored a lot of goals for liverpool?
though, it does seem to follow his confidence – if his confidence is high he tends to score more and concede less and vice versa
Yeah Lovbot is a bit of a worry. And i used to be his biggest fan. But there are times where you just have to hope his goals at least equal his errors that lead to goals in a game which im not sure is ideal, heh.
Im having trouble finding players on PES 2016 in aussie prime time – and Croatia is licensed now so i want to play! Ziva, do you have any tips for me ?
@Brkic
Has he really been one of the best on the team since the new year?
I watch their highlights every week but i mostly watch Arsenal or lately Leicester when I watch the Prem.
The only player that’s been standing out to me since then (and all year) is Coutinho.
Lovren with confidence = Awesome
Lovren with no confidence = Theo Salomidis
If we had strong alternatives I would pick them over Lovren. The reality is that the position is our Achilles heel and based on current form, he’s our best defender.
Most of the rest are not even playing in top leagues. At least Lovren is playing against world class strikers and has been one of the best players on his team since the new year.
I thought Schifo was awesome against Spain in 2012 but in all honesty i can’t remember a game he’s played in or a good performance from him since.
This is the player Croatia needs to be careful of. Watched him play a few times this year.Saw him score twice from free kicks.
From Wikipedia:
Hakan Çalhanoğlu is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for German club Bayer Leverkusen and the Turkey national team. Çalhanoğlu is considered to be among the greatest dead-ball specialists, as well as one of the best young talents, in today’s game.
is Schifo really in the mix?????
If we decide to go with Vida at LB, then a back four consisting of both Schifo and Corluka as the CBs can be very reliable, so long as we don’t play a team with a fast center forward.
It would be bad to play those two in the middle against Belgium (assuming we play them in the Round of 16) with Lukaku running at our defenders. At which point, Vida would have to be CB along with (potentially) Lovren I guess.
a Schifo/Coruka or Vida/Corluka pairing at the CB spots should be fine for Turkey & Czech. Probably even Spain, if they plan on starting Costa or Morata up front.
David Luiz is a good comparison. Not exactly the same skillset, but both of them very talented, but are very error prone.
Extremely frustrating. It’s the same thing as what we went through with Igor Tudor all those years. I’ll never forgive him for that screwup against Yugo. He’s had MANY in his career that cancelled out any benefit he brought. I think Lovren is pretty much the same thing.
in all seriousness he would be my third choice center half.
1 – Vida
2 – Corluka
3 – Lovren
Having written that fuck I hope we can score some goals this June…
@poglavnik…….you are being too hard on Lovren. Luckily for him, he and his lifestyle are accepted in Liverpool.
Lovren’s bad news.
Naked pool parties, complaints about playing time, fashion designer (?!), and good for conceding at least one good chance a game.
No thanks!
He’s like our David Luiz.
Lots of tools to work with but plays like he’s being controlled by a 10 year old playing Playstation.
*That last bit was a Gary Neville quote…
Another good game from Lovren today. Someone tell that jabroni Cacic to stop burying his players in the media and call him back up.
Hehe cool
i like the guy who had the cro-teddy Zvonimir 🙂
My fridge look exactly like the one Ivan Hrvatska from Vancouver has – and we have the same rule, no pictures or papers on the bottom half! – haha
if you log onto uefa my ticket portal you can see what seat you got for the games
Not to mention how much younger we look! Good throwback!
cestitam momci
God bless Croatia!!! Death to Yugo scum!!
Nice sunglasses, Ante! Still got those bad boys?! Can I borrow them this weekend when I hit up da club!?
