All good things must come to an end.
CroatianSports.com’s HNL writer, Colin O’Hara(vić), is hanging up the boots and having his jersey raised to the ‘Digital Dom’ rafters. Colin was an original Prva Generacija member of CroatianSoccerReport in 2008 and began writing articles on Dinamo Zagreb and the HNL on a weekly basis in 2012. Colin tallied 347 total articles over the years and has been a pivotal player in getting CroatianSports.com where it is today.
Outside of HNL recaps every Monday morning, Colin had the privilege of interviewing Croatian striker, Ivan Klasnić, when he was on summer tour with the Bolton Wanderers in Tampa Bay, Florida.
However, Colin’s Hollywood moment at CroatianSports was his “Croatian Soccer Tyrant Imprisons Fans” article following a Dinamo Zagreb match at Maksimir in 2013. Colin was detained by Croatian police until 2AM and wrote a wonderful piece painting a picture from Zagreb that fateful day.
Families grow. Priorities change. But Colin will always have a home here at CroatianSports.com. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Colin. But I know this will not be the last time we hear from you.
Enjoy your new Casio buddy
Hvala na svemu, Colin.
It’s sad seeing Ivan Klasnic today.
Not sure if this is related to his kidney condition, but he ‘looks’ like his health is deteriorating.
He just looks so different now when you compare him to this video.
That’s some sad news but good luck on the next part of your journey
I do remember that maksimir article now and of course all the HNL stuff
I hope ante got you a timex watch for retirement!
All the best
Enjoy your golden years, stari
You did a fabulous job Colin, you will be missed!
Full credit to Colin for contributing to the growth of this site.
Also Ante, any more of those CSN shirts kicking around? I’m sure there are many readers who would buy one if available. Great shirt.
CSR Nation, I’m touched. Thanks Ante for letting me be a part of this for so long. Will remain a regular visitor to the site, but looking forward to the next gen of writers and contributors.
Vote for Gvardiol for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month!
https://rookie-award.com/
He’s a finalist, and if he wins it, it will add even more fuel against Dalic’s beloved Lovren/Vida partnership.
It can be rookie of the year and still dalic wouldn’t change up the center pairing
DCC would have been the one to break it up
I would love to see;
Sosa/gvardiol/dcc/stanisic
Ya it’s a lot of new stuff
So maybe
Sosa/Gvardiol/vida/juranovic(if he’s healthy)
I think Sosa and Gvardiol have to be a lock on that left side.
No sane person out there would sub them out from LB and LCB and put someone else there. They’re our two best and most in-form (and two of our youngest) defenders.
For that right side, I would love to (eventually) swap out Duje with Pongracic, just for the speed factor.
Duje is good, but his slower speed kinda concerns me. Once Pongracic gets more games in for Dortmund, there is no reason for anyone other than Stanisic to be ahead of him.
I also think that Stanisic should be starting at either RCB or RB.
Juranovic can start at RB if we want to run more offense at RB.
Essentially I would go with any two of Pongracic, Stanisic and Juranovic at RCB and RB. I would have Duje off the bench, unless he is in full form and outplaying Pongracic and Stanisic.
Vida and Lovren off the bench as depth players, or just cut them since they’re pretty much done. Cut Skoric too.
Uremovic is a young capable backup, along with Bradaric and Duje.
The back four decisions are just a no-brainer here.
Colin is too busy being a Rowdies fan boy…. Turning his back on the repka and the greatest domestic league in Europe, the Prva HNL. Sram te bilo!
All the best, buddy! 😉
Apparently he’s leaving to join rivals SerbianSports.com
What the hell man!
Thank you!
Thanks for everything Colin! Your work here is influential to all of us and I can speak for all of us when I say I always enjoyed your weekly Prva Liga writings. Best of luck with everything legend!
