Ivan Perišić scored the game winner for PSV Saturday in the 76′ of a 2-1 victory over Fortuna Sittard. The Croatian winger collected a perfect through-ball in the box from teammate Mauro Junior and cooly slotted home past the goalie for the win. The three points will keep a 10+ point advantage on 2nd place Feyenoord for the Eredivisie race. Perišić now has 3G/7A in 16 Dutch League matches this season. There are some rumblings out of Italy that Inter are looking to bring him back to the club this year.
Ante Budimir bagged a brace Saturday with his 7th and 8th goals of the La Liga season in a 3-2 victory over Real Oviedo. Budimir equalized the game on two occasions for Osasuna. After having a 42′ goal disallowed due to a hand ball, Budimir made up for the call by heading home a cross only moments later in the 45′. In the 75′, he would slam home a half-volley from the middle of the box following a free kick. He definitely makes the best of his service in the box. Hopefully, he can stay in form and challenge to be Croatia’s #9 starting striker at the World Cup.
Igor Matanović scored his second goal in three matches Sunday evening; slotting home a 62′ equalizer for Freiburg in a 2-2 draw versus Augsburg. It is his fourth Bundesliga goal of the season playing in 15 matches.
Nikola Vlašić has cooled down after scoring five goals in six matches in the November/December Serie A window. He has yet to make the scoresheet in four January matches. Torino lost 2-0 to Roma Sunday night.
Luka Modrić came of the bench to play the final 10 minutes of AC Milan’s 1-0 victory over Lecce Sunday. He should have had an assist as his 50-yard down field pass put Nkunku on a break-away but the French international couldn’t get the proper shot on goal. With the win, AC Milan trail Inter by three points for the Serie A lead.

Pandur CLEAN SHEET 3-0 w/ 6 saves – Hull now 4th only 3 pts behind 2nd place
Kotarski 5 saves – let in a goal – but Copenhagen fought for equalizer despite playing w 10 men for 55 min
Biondic USG in Munich for Bayern Wednesday too
Baturina, Sucic, Perisic, Budimir, Krama, Matanović…all rounding nicely into form.
Modrić, Vlašić, Vušković, Jakić, Erlić already having great seasons too.
Just need to make sure that at least a few of our other guys (Kova, Stanišić, Livaković, Šutalo, Ivanović) can come back from injury and/or get into peak form.
Pero has scored 1, great all round game, won the ball on multiple occasions, good passing, biggest distance covered for sure, two other opportunities to maybe score, chose to pass instead of shoot, first time round thuram should score. 45 minutes best inter player
ETA until Arsenal try to buy him? 😉
I wish
that was delicious
Pero scores a worldly
Anonymous = GOAT
Wow!!!!!! What a strike by Sucic!
Awesome.

Pandur faces Preston North End today 14:45 in big battle #5 vs. #6 in the table – a win for either side would be massive
For those of you that can read (maybe 10% of folks on here) – here is SKY SPORTS starting line-up for Inter vs. Arsenal

Ivanovic vs Juventus (probably will sub in around 75th minute)
Perisic vs Newcastle
For the morons (@Az and @Mate1) who are posting fake news about Pero’s playing time (despite still not being able to figure out in a week how to look up total minutes of all the Inter midfielders and rank them lol)
Sky says Pero is starting vs. Arsenal today OMG OMG OMG
https://x.com/InterMilanFRA/status/2013615707829723502
Please recall Anonymous told you morons last week that Chiuvu is saving Pero for Arsenal as his profile suits best vs. Arsenal midfield
Yes – Anonymous is THAT GOOD they are predicting games in advance which one Pero will start
Also – while we’re at it – please refer to Anonymous eye test report on Baturina’s cameo vs. Bologna where Anonymous takes you thru in detail the body language/mentality/psychology assessment and told you morons he would be starting the next game – it was all PREDICTABLE based on the Bologna cameo
Yes – again – Anonymous is the GOAT of all GOATs !!!!!!
Also
Niko Kovac face a depleted Tttenham team (only 11 fit first team players)
Odds are high that Niko gets a strong result (and further cements his positions as next Man U manager lol)
If Pero starts – Anonymous will be focused on the Arsenal
Who cares about these African teams? Morocco we beat, Senegal hasn’t made a QF since 02. Those are the only two teams to make it that far. I guess Ghana in 2010 which was a nightmare for them. Algeria in 2014 was solid against Germany too. Besides these three. Who else is a threat? No one. It’s pathetic.
African teams World Cup highlights. 1982 Algeria beat Germany and chile playing sensational football. Austria and Germany cheated to knock out Algeria. FIFA changed system after that to prevent it happening again. African brilliance stopped by European cowardice. Cameroon 1982 unbeaten in group stage drawing Peru, Italy (who went on to win the tournament) and the other team in the group I can’t remember. Very impressive
1986 morocco played England off the park but couldn’t score in 0-0 game. Beat Portugal 3-1, qualified for second round, played eventual finalist Germany, game went to extra time, deflected lothar Matheus free kick wins the game for Germany.
1990
Egypt played in tough group with England, Holland and a tough Ireland side. Drew with European champions Holland, drew with Ireland, lost 1-0 to England in final match, off set piece at the end. Solid
Cameroon, beat world champions Argentina on opening game. Beat top Romania team with Lacatus and hagi etc in next game. Went to second round. Beat top Colombia side, valderama, rincon etc. played England in quarter final. Outplayed England for entire match. Eventually lost with two penalty calls right at the end. Stunned the world
1994 Nigeria smashes eventual semi finalist Bulgaria 3-0 in first game. Plays classic very even game against Argentina next, loses 2-1. Beats Greece easily to qualify for second round. Plays outstanding match against Italy. Far better team throughout. Lapse of concentration in final minute let’s baggio in fir equaliser. Bad mistake. could have gone all the way to final
1998 a few good results Nigeria 3-2 Spain. Morocco 3-0 Scotland but no proper run
2002 Senegal beats France, beats Denmark, draws Uruguay, beats Sweden to get to quarters. Loses quarter final in extra time golden goal
2006 nothing
2010 Ghana goes to quarters, penalty miss right at the last kick of the game means they miss out on semi final place on African soil.
2014 Algeria again plays wonderful football. Goes to second round. Goes toe to toe with Germany in excellent game. Marginal defeat against the eventual champions (who beat Brazil 7-1 in semi final)
2018 nothing
2022 morocco draws Croatia, beats Belgium, beats Canada, beats Spain, beats Portugal, plays France in World Cup semi final. Has clear penalty at 0-0 not given. Foul and yellow card give THE OTHER WAY. No VAR in sight. Loses in the end
So we can see that African teams have brought flair and have been competitive throughout World Cup history. Many times they’ve gone home with regrets having outplayed the opposition only to lose with lapses of concentration, failure to take chances or outright being cheated.
I could write an essay here on the history of Africa and it’s relationship with Europe and the deep psychological scars which holds africa back. On the history of colonial and racism. On the history of exploitation, slavery and trauma which deep down makes Africans feel they don’t deserve to be at the top. But I won’t.
What I would say is that I love the World Cup. We all love the World Cup. Why do we love it? I love seeing what different countries bring. If it’s Australia great! Let me see what they got! If Kazakhstan great! Let me see what these guys are about. It’s not all about eating at the top table. You’d rather have a mini tournament with Brazil, France and Spain only?? An international super league only for ‘the elite’ lol.
While you’re writing that essay…
could you write one about Northern Africans and their history of Islamic colonialism, slave-trade and racism toward sub-Saharan Africans?
(which was visibly on display at the Senegal/Morocco match in how those young Moroccan ballboys treated the Senegalese and how it was just accepted)
I could yes.
History is extremely important. For example Morocco currently illegally occupies Western Sahara. Morocco played a key role, along with European allies, in the downfall of the epic Malian empire which at the time was the most advanced society on earth, with the best education, healthcare and technology on the planet. It had more students in its main university than the entire population of London at that time. It also had gold. Which the Moroccans wanted to sell to the ever gold hungry western Europeans. Morocco, which is a kingdom not a republic, was supported by the USA in its independence from France and has maintained good relations ever since, allowing the US to use sites in morocco for torturing people among other heinous acts. Algeria, which is next door, has long been a champion of pan africanism, anti colonialism and social progress. Two completely different histories. A bit like Serbia and Croatia. Or Germany and Russia
Hmm. Not bad on the history.
On a related note…
I have become an anti-fan of Moroccan football.
Didn’t like how they conducted themselves against us in our bronze medal game at the last World Cup.
I hate how they constantly try to bribe and cheat their way into victories. Finally getting a tournament after so many years of bribing. Constantly poisoning the food of opponents during AFCON.
Hated what I saw against Senegal.
The towel incident with with the ballboys showing tremendous disrespect to (Yehvann Diouf), their elder, and a football professional. The security and stewards were ushering Diouf off, and should have removed the ballboys from him.
I also hated how the Moroccan media all walked out on the Senegal goalscorer in the postgame interviews. Also hated that the crowd was goading Hakimi to throw the keeper towel away, and he did it.
You can just tell that Moroccans have so much disdain for black players, and are only pan-African if they have hegemony over others in the continent (not unlike how Serbs are pro-Yugo, so long as Belgrade is the capital).
Very happy to see Senegal win it and will be rooting for them at the World Cup against France and Norway. I’m no fan of France, and even though I like Norway…I do want them to be taken down a peg.
Happy to see Morocco grouped with Scotland. Scotland are a very underrated no-nonsense team who won’t take $hiit from Morocco. I expect that to be a very classless match (on behalf of the Moroccans). If Morocco lose their first game to Brazil, they will be desperate to win their second against Scotland and will play dirty (as usual). Looking forward to it.
Ok Maminjo I hear you. I also don’t like some of the same things you’ve pointed out. I think you take it a bit too far. There are other countries who deserve the world cup far less than morocco, have far less football history and do a lot more bribing and much more racist than morocco. USA for example.
Morocco have a history of very beautiful quality football. Their best ever player Timouni is maybe the best player I’ve ever seen. Absolute genius. This current generation are way too hyped up about the whole thing. Most of them born in Europe. Diaz, hakimi, ezzalzuli in Spain, others from Holland, Belgium and France. You know how diaspora people are. Over hyped on the myth of their identity, without actually understanding their own history or culture. Isn’t that right Ziva?
And just one final point here. So I can wrap up this african football talk for the foreseeable future as we aren’t here to discuss geopolitics or history the merits of African football. You know moving to England at a certain age in childhood. You know how they are. You know how they see people below them. The arrogance, every single time. The thought they were already in the final before playing Croatia 2018. Who is Croatia right? Nobodies. I’ll never tire of seeing certain types of people have to eat their words. Never. I’ve got Scottish blood too. I’ve a soft spot for them. But I hope morocco beat them 8-0. You know? All the sneering . Premier league this that and the other. Winston Churchill. The Beatles. They always know best. England have won the World Cup ONCE. The country that invented the game. With the biggest resources. 1966 at home, dodgy refs. But they think they’ve got an easy group. Because it’s mighty England against 3 countries nobody has ever heard of. Rant over.
Great to see Baturina starting to play well. Looks like Cesc is doing some good work with him.
Even though our D looks a little shaky with Gvardiol injured, Stanisic should be back, Vuskovic, Jakic plus either Sutalo/Erlic/CC/Pong should be ok.
Crazy to me that Sutalo has regressed at Ajax….he’s been solid for us.
Well done Baturina. Keep it up.
@Mate, the disallowed goal for Senegal was incredibly soft. Hakimi fell over as he was trying to mark a bigger stronger guy. Both had one arm out against each other. It’s a 50-50 situation. Hakimi fell over because he timed his push wrong. No foul. Ok let’s call it marginal call. No problem. No protest from Senegal.
Second decision. Defender puts feather lite touch on Diaz. Yes the defender should not put his hands there. But the contact is minimal. After the incident there is no claim for penalty from Morocco players. They just get on with the game. Even Diaz who threw himself down is not appealing for a penalty. A full minute passes, then suddenly Diaz starts making a hysterical entitled performance about how it’s a penalty. This is what VAR is for. The whole point of VAR is to allow corporate control over results. That’s why if you are croatia playing against France VAR will intervene wherever possible to punish minor indiscretions, and won’t intervene the way. That’s why they introduced VAR. corporate control of football results. Deep down everyone knows it.
So it’s not about corruption in Africa. It’s about corporate control of football everywhere. Croatia was robbed in the World Cup final against France. That’s not Africa is it. Morocco is europeanising, that’s why it’s getting press coverage and along with that process comes the privilege of corporate protection. ie, VAR cheating to make sure your investment is protected.
As footballers on the pitch, the Senegal players knew that. Effectively what they said was “get that crap out of here, that’s not football, that’s not Africa. It stops here. We walk”. Damn right.
Croatia received many dodgy calls. Where is the surprise? Smaller economy. Is that football? You want to automatically hand a World Cup to France before a ball is kicked?? Someone had to do what Senegal did.
And finally, most importantly of all.this situation is reflective of society at large. People with power making dodgy f**ked up decisions. Are people just supposed to accept it? Ofcourse not. We walk.
Morocco is “Europeanising”?
Give me a break.
They are hosts for a future World Cup. There is bribe money flowing to FIFA from Morocco, and they have faced bribery allegations in every prior bid they’ve made in the past.
It’s ARAB money, and it was definitely present at AFCON. So call it what it is.
These guys would enslave all Senegalese if they had their way.
I just watched a video of Moroccan ball boys wrestling Senegal’s backup goalkeeper to the ground during the match, who was standing next to Mendy trying to protect Mendy’s towel from being stolen by them.
Just pure cigani. All game they are circling him, tussling and falling onto the field, while trying to cheat on behalf of Morocco by stealing Mendy’s towel (which he was using to keep his gloves dry during the rainy game).
Yet the ref does nothing, even though the wrestling spilled over onto the field of play with like four guys rolling on the ground in the box.
There is nothing European about all this. It’s Arab money just buying off the result.
Baturina is freakin’ awesome!
Baturina. Player of the match on FOTMOB.
Idc what anybody says. This Baturina kid deserves a start at the World Cup. Smolcic looks good too.
I notice people are awfully quiet about Baturina now. 😉
Baturina start and goal 2 minute.
The backheel assist was even better
Isaac is on the bench for Verona. Hopefully he get out there
Monday 14:45 Baturina vs. Basic
Someone please watch (if Baturina starts) and report back
Isaac will be playing in Verona. Brazilian Croat
Well if he’s ever good enough for a callup, then he can drop the Brazilian nickname moniker and use his real last name (Tomic)
Re: injuries
Every country is facing them
Wales – Ben Davies broke his ankle – won’t play in PO March
Northern Ireland – Conor Bradley – there best player – season sending knee injury/surgery – best case back in August (won’t play in PO March)
Sweden – Kulesevski – captain/IMO best player – out since knee patella/surgery – zero time-line when he will return – they keep giving him injections as he has pain (never mind start to train on grass) – will miss PO March – might never play again
etc
Point being – everyone has injuries – let’s hope Croatia all keep healthy
I repeat on Josko – he should NOT rush back for the World Cup – we need him in Euro 2028 with all eyes on WC 2030 where we should have a really good chance if man things pan out/develop
*Kulesevski has been out since May
🥲
Just turned 16 y/o Croatia U17 Luka Bartolovic just posted that his dad passed away
Kova loves Jarrod Bowen too ???

Didn’t realize that PSV is on pace to break their all-time greatest season.
They’re 17W 1D 1L right now with 15 games left.
27 wins and 5 draws is their best ever season (in 1986) and they actually played two more games per year back then.
Not surprised that they’re doing whatever they can to keep Perišić.
You guys take gvardi and we win the World Cup and he blows his leg for good and forced to retire and never play again?
Surgery
Juice him up as I doubt he is being tested while injured
He’s young and he’s a stud
If I had a daughter I would buy his semen to breed her
Just saying;)
I still have hope
Him and stanisic back we cause sone serious hell again
Boys know we own world cups
They will come to play
Perišic and luka are proof of what pure Croatian will is
I think we’d all take that deal lmao. You’d take any deal to win a wc obviously. Whether he’d take it, that might be another story.
You should consider getting your head examined
Fantasizing that you want to breed a daughter is not healthy
Daughter and semen in the same sentence should have you banished to Epstein Island for life Danny boy;)
BTW, Thankyou Senegal for saving football from corruption. Wonderful
What did they do?
Senegal won AFCON 2025 despite blatant cheating by officials to have Morocco win the tournament.
“Senegal’s AFCON 2025 triumph has been celebrated across the continent as a symbolic victory for football over corruption, with fans and analysts alike hailing the match as a moment of justice. The final against host nation Morocco was marked by intense controversy, including a disallowed Senegal goal and a late penalty awarded to Morocco in stoppage time. In protest, Senegal players briefly walked off the pitch, but Sadio Mane delivered a decisive moment of leadership by urging them back, preserving the integrity of the match. His calm intervention allowed Senegal to regroup, with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy saving Brahim Díaz’s Panenka penalty and Pape Gueye scoring the winning goal in extra time.
Fans pointed to a pattern of questionable refereeing decisions favoring Morocco throughout the tournament—particularly the controversial penalty shootout win over Nigeria and earlier disputes involving Cameroon—as evidence of systemic bias. Many viewed Senegal’s win not just as a sporting achievement, but as a rejection of perceived institutional corruption in African football governance.”
Thanks for the reply. Sounds like they were really up against it, glad they prevailed !
Senegal employed ZLATKO DALIC like tactics of tripping elbowing kneeing Morocco’s players man
Why didn’t Croatia go off the pitch for 16 minutes @ Brazil in 2014 over that BS Lovren penalty on Fred ? They were identical calls basically!
From the extended highlights Senegal deserved to win in any event
Had we gone off the pitch against Brazil we in all probability would have missed the 2018 WC ?? because FIFA would have banned us from the qualifying.
I think Senegal’s behaviour was disgraceful and the African confederation should punish them severely.
I watched the second half and extra time after switching from the waterpolo. Once you see the TV reply’s both decisions the disallowed Senegal goal and the penalty decisions were correct calls. The TV commentators also agreed with the ref decisions.
During the tournament as the hosts Morocco had the refs on their side there is no doubt about that.
Because Lovren is a tool who didn’t know how to defend one on one other then fouling the player. The man’s entire careers has examples of bad defending. Didn’t he have his hands all over Fred like he was trying to frisk him?
What’s happening with Kovacic’s injury? Dude’s been out for a while. Does anyone know?
“The most consistent updates from recent reports (as of mid-January 2026) indicate his expected return is around February to March 2026:
Some sources point to February 2026 or potentially earlier depending on recovery progress.
Others specify a timeline of February/March 2026, with one detailed injury tracking site (Premier Injuries) listing a potential return date of March 14, 2026.
Transfermarkt also notes the ankle injury from late October 2025 with an expected return of March 14, 2026.
Pep Guardiola has described it as keeping him out until the latter part of the season, but recovery could come sooner—no major new positive updates have shifted this dramatically in the last week or so.
A statement from Croatia’s head of medical (early January 2026) suggested he’s progressing well and should be ready well before the 2026 World Cup (likely meaning earlier than summer), reinforcing that a mid-to-late season return for club play is feasible.”
Matanović and Petković both with goals today. If Matanović can find his form, it will help our world cup possibilities a lot. Petković having a very good season in Turkey since recovering from injury. Clearly the centerpiece of his team and scoring a lot of goals. Also good to see Pongračić establishing himself as the anchor of the defense at Fiorentina who have actually started winning again for a change. If we’re missing Gvardiol and possibly Stanišić, Pongračić is going to have to step up
Pongračić at the World Cup?
Uff.
We have to be realistic. What happens if Gvardiol and Stanišić are both out? As it stands, right back options are Jakić, Ivan Smolčić and possibly Juranović. Left back options are Domagoj Bradarić, Juranović, and Sosa. Vušković has to be considered a starter at CB, but who else? Jakić can play there but is more valuable on the right. That leaves Pongračić, Erlić, Duje Ćaleta-Car, a Šutalo who is having a terrible season and Hrvoje Smolčić who is having a good season in Turkey but has never been capped. Of those guys, Pongračić is having the best season, playing in a top-5 league with no injuries and having increasing success since Fiorentina went to a back four instead of back three. Who would you pair Vušković with instead? Everyone loves to hate Pongračić, and we’ve seen him look pretty bad, but we’ve also seen DCC and Šutalo make horrendous mistakes. I’d say it’s between Pongračić and Erlić for the second CB spot, with Pongračić the more skilled of the two (honestly, he just needs to play for Croatia the way he usually plays for Fiorentina, he has it in him)
JJ played LWB today 2nd time in a row
Bradaric played RWB last 2 of 3
Yes. My point was to imagine who could play in a back 4. Juranović can do either side, albeit not necessarily that well defensively. Bradarić in a back 4 should play on the left.
Vuskovic gets the start 100%.
Worst case scenario, he chokes, and we chalk up the tournament as a development year (as Vuskovic is worth the growing pains for his development).
With Gvardiol out, I would probably still pair him with Sutalo or Erlic over Pongracic. Pongracic just has as weirdly bad record with us for some reason. We can’t seem to win with him in the lineup, and we have a lot of data on that (something like 5 wins in 16 games).
I get that it may not be his fault, but man, that record is atrocious and where there’s smoke there’s fire. I’d just be too worried to start him.
With Vuskovic being possibly less mobile and used to playing in a back three at Hamburg, I would really use these March games to see what Erlic and Sutalo can do next to him…especially against fast skilled Brazilians and Colombians.
I would watch a lot of game tape of Erlic and his season with Midtjylland, and see how much of their Europa success is really attributed to him. I would give Sutalo some slack, despite the poor season with Ajax. Sutalo has speed, so maybe a pairing with Vuskovic would work (and maybe he responds well to the faith his coach has in him).
With Gvardiol gone, we need to take some risks.
We need Stanisic at LB full time, and Jakic has been a solid RB for us in the qualifiers. We can call up Smolcic to see what he can do (as insurance for Stanisic).
If Moris Valincic comes back strong to finish the season with Dinamo, I would call him up too.
Guys like Jakic and Valincic would kill themselves out there for us, and could take the next step in the careers after a good showing.
Guys like Duje and Pongracic are not taking any career steps forward and should just be insurance backups (but not starters).
Guys like Juranovic and Sosa are defensive sieves and cannot play for us anymore. I would not even call them up.
Yeah, I agree about Juranović and Sosa. And I don’t think they will be called because they are not starters at their clubs. Erlić is an interesting case because he has played very well for the national team, scored an awesome first goal and cried from how much it meant to him, and although he plays in Denmark, he’s the anchor of his team’s defense. I like Erlić for all these reasons. He should be tested next to Vušković as well. I’m not so high on Šutalo. Too many goals and point-blank chances Croatia has conceded over the years have directly been his fault. He’s very skilled, but he makes very costly mistakes.
Šutalo likes to take risks and makes mistakes.
Guys like this usually need a “Steady Freddy” type of defender next to them.
Erlić seems to be that type of defender, which is probably why that Šutalo/Erlić pairing worked so well for us when we made that silver medal run in 2023 Nations League.
They were our go-to pairing for 2022 qualifying and Nations League.
Juranović and Sosa don’t work in a back four. They are essentially midfielders who play in a 5-man midfield.
Neither defend at all, and both have dropped off offensively over the past few years.
We have guys like Marco Pasalic, Orsic, and other winger types that fill this role better for us anyway.
I have to say Josko Gvardiol saying that the injury won’t define him and that he is still eyeing the World Cup Tournament is one hell of statement. Huge respect to this guy for being determined.
But man, you gotta take time to heal. The last thing we want is for another injury or worse to happen. I hope he stays healthy, and if we are lucky enough that he is fit to make it to the World Cup.
I get that World Cups are everything…but man, we need the guy for the next 12 years.
I don’t want him doing anything stupid.
Igor started today and scored.
Maybe he is getting on a roll. . .
@Maminjo @Vlad
Fabrizio must be reading this website too as he just posted about Jaga! 😊
Not a Here We Go yet – but seems real/linked to Werder selling AM Ronald Schmid to Leeds for 15m (which also kills the Baturina to Leeds nonsense at the same time)
April 18 Jagusic vs Vuskovic 😍😍😍
Jagusic AND Covic vs Vuskovic.😉
Covic is four months younger than Vuskovic, nearly two years younger than Jagusic. . . . . and admittedly he’s not getting much playing time for Werder this season. But when he has played, he seems skilled, good acceleration.
Maybe Jagusic showing up there might be good for Covic? Werder could develop some Croatian synergy on the field? They say Werder are high on Covic for the future . . .
And Belinho
Trying to find news about Luka Sucic, anyone knows anything? Nothing on a loan found on my end
Things have soured at Real Sociedad, that seems clear. They beat Barcelona today and, yet again, he did not see the field.
There was a PSV Eindhoven rumour a short while back but it could just have been a rumour. PSV might be a good move for him though. He needs a change of scenery, PSV is stable and going well in the Dutch league, they play Champions league, and Perisic is there of course and he could contribute to Luka S getting back on track.
A very disappointing season so far for Luka Sucic . . . and for Josip Sutalo, both who had very promising seasons the year previous. They both need transfers ASAP. Lovro Majer does not seem to have found his best game either. A few years back he was a very highly touted midfielder, a top midfielder, in the French league. And Livakovic is stuck in no man’s land.
If we can get those four going including Luka S, and the three key injured players (Kova, Gvardiol, Stanisic) heal well and in time, everything should come together for WC 2026.
Still plenty of reasons for us to be optimistic.
Looks like Budimir bagged a couple in a 3-2 win.
Actually bagged three but one called back. All three showed Budimir’s skills, he is a dangerous threat to score when he is in form. He can get his head on a cross and put it in the net as well as anyone, a big target. Bring Vuskovic up on a corner or a set play, those are two big targets for WC 2026 . . . . tough for opposing defenders to cover both of them.
No Gvardiol
Man City IMPLODE – both offensively and defensively
Guehi signed but not playing yet – the other CBs are terrible
Funny
Yet how often do they give Gvardiol a bad grade every now and then. Maybe be now Man City fans will see what happens when he is missing.
Sat
09:30 Luka Vuskovic vs. Kota Takai (aka Mr. Small Feet) – both wanting to put in a good performance as Tttenham will obviously be watching both their CBs closely
10:00 England-watch Conor Gallagher vs. Jarrod Bowen ❤️
14:45 Mateo Biondic (will he get minutes after the 30 min debut)
15:30 Franjo Ivanovic
Anonymous just finished Baturina’s 60 min vs. Modric – Cesc really doing God’s work with him – see 48:15 duel vs. Saelemaekers (uses his body smartly, gets knocked down, gets right back up and keeps fighting and passes it – wow wow wow – so beautiful to watch) and right before he came off vs. Rabiot and he set the tone in the first minute vs. Tomori drawing the free-kick – body language top-notch, urgency top-notch, mentality top-notch, energy/engagement much better, aggressiveness MUCH better – this performance has to be his FLOOR – meaning he can’t allow himself to dip back down again – if this can become his FLOOR (TBD) than he should be able to keep building from here – Anonymous would like to see him try to be more forward-thinking and progressive at times (a lot of times he was passing backwards – but given he’s being played as an inside forward/#10 hybrid on the “LW” there is less space overall (vs. centrally) so it’s somewhat understandably – but next step is to work in 1 vs. 1 going forward and progression the play/ball forward more)

09:00 Pero
09:30 Majer
Luka starts
Kota Takai on bench (didn’t Krama scored a first half hat-trick vs. the other CBs last game and Kota still can’t get a start – OUCH!)
We cannot be relying on ageing players to bail us out all the time..perisic modric budimir kramaric. In fact these are the players that are performing consistently in their clubs.
For upcoming world cup, in terms of younger players performing consistently well in their clubs (top 7 leagues), only stanisic gvardiol and kovacic (assuming he can play in next euro) can make it…but all of them are injured. We could still make an impact in this WC of the three are fully fit.
As for the rest,
Livakovic: searching for club
Semper: dropped for recent games despite playing well
Letica: not playing in decent league
Ivusic: injured
Labrovic: bench
Sutalo: poor form
Vuskovic: only one cap..playing in relegating club. Used to playing back 3
DCC: dunno he will be in starting 11
Erlic: not playing in decent league
Pongracic: poor form for country
Juranovic: despite recovering from injury, he doesnt have chance to sub in to play
Jakic: ocassionally dropped from lineup
Bradaric: bench occasionally and forced to play RWB
Sosa: gone case
Vlasic: form has picked up..need more consistency and less injuries
Majer: inconsistent form and frequently subbed off
Mario pasalic: on bench for past mth except yesterday which he didnt play well
Marco pasalic: MLS
Orsic: no goals and assist for past 2 mths. Cyprus league.
Musa: MLS
Petkovic: where is he?
Baturina: hopefully he has more chances to play?
Sucic P: playing lesser these days
L sucic: searching for new club.
Conclusion we need stansic kovacic gvardiol, they are important. Vuskovic may not used to playing in back 4. We shall see
Some of the players you have mentioned are actually doing quite well.
Vusković is highly rated, and now being looked at by Bayern Munich. I am pretty sure they are not a club who makes foolish decisions.
I don’t think you would be named the best prospect in Bundesliga without being good.
Petar Sučić despite limited minutes is highly regarded at Inter. He is being integrated by the coach into the system, this takes time unfortunately. But he is a very versatile player.
I am also pretty sure Orsic scored on December the 5th. That’s under two months. He is also not a youth player. I am pretty sure he is older along with Petkovic and Mario Pašalić.
You may want to double check these things before writing them bud.
Understand..vuskovic is good..i will put him and gvardiol (injured) as CB starting pairing but he needs someone with experience playing with him as CB as he is used to 3 man backline system in westerlo and current club.
P sucic: if u look at trend..he is playing lesser minutes these few mths as compared to initial months.
He is not like brozovic..take his DM immediately after joining inter. In inter, u need to perform well whenever given chances, otherwise u will be replaced v soon. I do hope he can maintain his performance week in week out.
I have been tracking orsic. His last goal is against bayern…i really hope he can assist and score more in weaker league. Even a goal within 2 months is not good..as he is doing so well in dinamo..i am a fan of him for many yrs.
Re: Pero – u should pull the minutes of all the midfielders at Inter – and then rank them top to bottom – then come back to us…
Sucic minutes: from 1st serie game to last game
90 62 8 90 0 15 21 17 90 88 56 90 45 5 74 0 22 69 3 3 2
Thanks for posting that. There could be some truth to the playing time/minutes for Petar Sučić but when you type in the question it mentions that he is a key player to squad and on rotation. So I dunno what to think, hopefully it’s just the rotation Inter Milan chooses to play to keep there players fresh and manage their fitness levels.
What does that tell you?
Nothing
Again – you need to look at TOTAL playing minutes this season of Pero and all the other Inter midfielders and then rank them
