Luka Modrić was subbed off vs. Juventus Sunday after a serious head collision with Locatelli. Hopefully no fracture to the orbital bone with the World Cup <60 days away. AC Milan vs. Juventus ended 0-0. Modrić received a 6.5 rating from SempreMilan in his 80 minutes on the pitch as “He was never bothered by Juve’s press, finding a way out of every situation, and we also saw him make several runs on the counter tonight. Let’s just hope the knock to the head is nothing serious.”
Franjo Ivanović scored a late brace coming off the bench and received a 8.4 SofaScore rating in Benfica’s 4-1 win over Moreirense Saturday. It is Ivanović’s sixth goal of the season and first multi-goal game in Portugal. With the victory, Benfica remain undefeated in Portugal (and in 2nd place) with 22 wins and 9 draws.
Mateo Kovačić got the start and played 58 minutes in City’s 2-1 FA Cup Final semifinal victory vs. Southampton at Wembley.

Not sure if you guys know this but soccer is played 90 percent with the lower body, 8 percent with the head, 2 percent with the chest, and 0 percent with the cheekbone. 0 chance modric misses wc
Apparently Modrić has amnesia and still thinks he’s a 19 year old kid playing for Zrinjski.
Modric had surgery on a broken cheek bone and according to reports will be out for 5 to 6 weeks. He is expected to play at the WC, however fitness will be a big problem.
Our players of late seem to be getting injured with the WC just around the corner.
We can just hope that there won’t be any further injuries in the coming weeks.
We have enough depth to get out of the group phase, and these guys will get better as the tournament goes on.
Our players should fake injuries until the world cup starts…Also, isn’t it strange how players are becoming more injured than before? Mostly, around their knees, I wonder if its because they are playing more matches? more demanding? or another theory is how the stadiums are built with the pitches being used for multiple purposes.
Game is a lot faster. More running. More movement that is hard on the knees. Players seem to require more physicality and fitness to play in the top leagues (so maybe they’re overtraining).
There are a lot more oafs who don’t know how to play football but are simply just great athletes (who injure others and/or blow their own knees).
There are guys like Marko Pjaca who are skilled but just too big to play the way he plays (at that weight), without blowing a knee or rupturing a muscle.
Kačavenda had an explosive first step, but those turns he used to make on that first explosive step were maybe too much for his knees.
Not sure how Stojković and Luka Sučić messed their knees up. Stojković runs a lot, but Sučić doesn’t though.
I dunno. That my guess.
I’ve read that too
That since Igor’s ex-team and Real Madrid introduced their new multi-purpose pitches (eg football, but also NFL, concerts, etc) in the last 3-4 years that those two teams have also faced the most ACL injuries
Not sure I buy it as they are only on those pitches for 90 min each home game – while they spend most of their time on solely purposed training ground plus away games
Looks like it’s been confirmed that Luka Modric has a facial fracture and will need surgery. Reports saying he should still play the WC but with the Batman mask as Dannyj noted below.
I saw reports that Vuksovic had internally bleeding in his knee. Ffs…we can’t catch a break with these injuries. If we don’t have a healthy Gvardiol or Vuksovic then we are finished. He has an MRI today and that will dictate his eligibility.
After I thought, all we have to do it say healthy seemed like: Modric, Vuskovic, Pasalic, and Musa received injuries in some degree in a time span of 72 hours.
If we lose even one: Musa, Pasalic, and Vuskovic, and Modric in one week that would be a huge disappointment
It looks like Vuskovic for sure, from latest comments on Croatian sports. I haven’t read anything to confirm, crossing my fingers it is not true.
Was really looking to Vuskovic’s world debut.
Vuskovic ‘for sure’?
Where are you reading this?
HSV fans are claiming this is a conspiracy by Tottenham to keep Vuskovic benched for the rest of the season, so that Spurs aren’t pressured to sell him once they are relegated.
Spurs ITK saying Igor ex-team have in loan contract that THEIR medical staff have sign off when/if Luka returns
Igor’s ex-team is incentivized to bench Luka until the WC as his value can SKYROCKET their vs only incremental benefit if he keeps playing for HSV
Plus if HSV get relegated Luka is less likely to say he wants to go on loan to play w Mario as he ain’t playing 2nd division (if they don’t sell him in the summer)
Yes I am hearing a lot of recents Spurs talk re: Vušković.
My guess is they are planning for potential relegation, and they probably want Vušković playing for Spurs in the Championship (since he’s young, high value and relatively low salary).
Guys like VDV and Romero (and others) will demand to be sold, and Spurs will have to sell them, but at the same time they will try to do whatever they can to get promoted the following year.
It makes zero sense for them to sell Vušković or to loan him out.
The only thing that could change that is if Vušković himself makes these demands (for a transfer or loan) but he doesn’t seem to be the type to do this to his parent club and he’s also under contract until 2029 (so it’s not easy to play hard ball).
Most of the contracts – before Levy left – included clauses that the players salaries get cut by 50% if relegated
I think the only contracts that don’t have the 50% cut are Xavi Simons and Connor Gallagher (signed after Levy left)
I know the arguments why they want to keep Luka – but the ITK can’t see him playing in the Championship
Barca and Madrid will be after Luka – maybe even Liverpool , Chelsea, PSG – those clubs will go for one CB – so Romero and VDV might not get the clubs they think they will – as Luka is a much better investment (they can also sign Senesi on a free)
I think Romero’s contract is longer and VDV is still 2 years left – one of them will have to stay in the Championship as they MUST go straight back up (or the financial situation is abysmal)
I think we think that about Luka bc he’s 18 y/o – but he’s already more mature than most of the NT players lol – and he won’t forget they pissed on his face last summer signing Kota Takai for 5m and saying he’s ready to step into the Prem – that’s the only reason Luka was FORCED to go on loan
Contract length doesn’t mean anything beyond securing a big fee – all the young CBs that have been sold eg Leoni, Huijsen, Jacquet all had 5+ years left on their contract – when they were sold
Did Locatelli do it on purpose bc he’s bitter Italy are out while Croatia never fails to qualify ?
I mean he knows Modric is going to the WC and he ain’t
It’s not an impossibility that the envious Italians tried to hurt Modric
Nah. It probably has more to do with the fact that Juve can still catch up to Milan over the next four games.
Take out Milan’s most impactful player, and suddenly that six point cushion doesn’t look so impossible to close.
Guys, if Prince luka is injured like that. I’m gonna need to be held like iggy when we are losing
Luka gonna come in with his Robin mask
Gvardi gonna go all world after his Batman appearance last time
Dutch-watch
Looks like Solanke was indeed faking it to stay fresh
While Dutch have lost their starting LW Xavi Simmons who TORE his ACL and is out for 9+ months and misses the WC
Let’s pray no major injury – while everyone else dropping like flies
Modric doesn’t need to go into that aerial challenge w 5 games – it’s crazy but that’s who he is always 100% – let’s pray God is on his side once again
Let’s everyone just go and swim and play relaxed for a while
Modric FINALLY listening
He’s gonna skip Milan’s final 4 games and go chill and lounge at the pool with some non-alcoholic pina coladas
But he’ll be ready for the WC
Crazy Modric – was gonna give 100% to the end lol – he didn’t miss even a game this year – this was the wake-up call he needed – he’s not invincible like he likes to think he is (none of us are)
Modric with quite a head-to-head collision just now. He was down for a bit and is now coming off.
Could be a fracture, I’d say he’s out for the rest of Serie A season.
Terrible. Just saw it. Does anyone have any update?
The good news is he was on the field after the game, shaking hands, etc but he was holding his face and looking very groggy. Probably a concussion . . . Maybe out a week or so? Just guessing. . .
Reports out of hsv that vuskovic has a torn patella in his knee that will put him out 4 months. Ended up being more serious than when they originally thought it was just a sprain but realized upon further imaging. He’ll undergo surgery in the next week. Bummer.
Timing could not be worse.
That’s got to be early World Cup trolling by a Serb???? Wtf
It’s always some new account that comes on here to spread lies.
But Vušković is probably out for the rest of the season.
I’m thinking out for rest of HSV season. But any indication for WC?
They say he is having an MRI today, and that Tottenham has become directly involved, including with their own medical team, via contractual rights they have under the loan with HSV . . .
We should know more in the next 24 hours.

Told you BEFORE the Hungary election EXACTLY what would happen with Osijek
Maminjo – you told us Osijek would be fine and nothing would change ?

🚨 𝐍𝐄𝐖: NK Osijek owner Lőrinc Mészáros is facing serious allegations in Hungary after opposition leader Péter Magyar claimed he and his family could be preparing to leave for Dubai.
Mészáros, the richest man in Hungary and a close ally of Viktor Orbán, is accused of being part of a wider effort to move major assets abroad ahead of a potential political transition.
Reports suggest any asset freeze could heavily impact Osijek, with the club potentially losing €7-8M per year.

Final matches Saturday 07:30 Pandur vs. Norwich and Wrexham vs. Middlesbrogh
Could segicic really challenge for a spot this go around??
Hey Niko unsure sigur watch segecic
Marco Pasalic not in the Orlando City squad again. Anybody know what’s happening there?
Injury is apparently more serious than first reported.
He may be out until the World Cup.
Might be a good idea to start looking at replacements who are in form right now like Stojkovic, Segecic, Jagusic (if he gets minutes at PAO), and Ivanovic (if he gets minutes at Benfica).
Good replacement options at least, but Marco Pasalic passed the smell test when we played him in these recent friendlies. Would prefer he comes back at 100%.
Jaga massive photo dumb on IG !!!
“Having a good time in Greece”
GF is there to support him (poor Jaga all alone in Greece no parent(s))
LV store, food, gladiators, black cat, ruins, GF as* in denim shorts, etc
He dumped it all
Enjoy
Saranic G and A today
😊 😊 😊
Ivanović gets one! Hopefully he can build off of this.
Nevermind there is his brace!! Way to go Ivanović!
In 15 min!
If he can get 3 or more goals in last 3 games he might still go to the WC
Kovacic in the starting lineup for man city today
Segecic on 🔥 🔥 🔥
Making a case of grabbing a WC spot (Jaga’s spot ☹️)

Two goals for Segecic
Majer unused sub for Wolfsburg again today
No brainer Segecic > Majer
Especially as Sege can play on the wing comfortably
Poor Jaga – but at least his nasty Serb teammate had “nice” things to say about him
Segecic HAT-TRICK!!!!!!
Got to respect the risk taking – taking a step “back” to Croatia U21 (from Aussie senior squad)
And now played himself onto the Croatia World Cup squad
Hats off to- he backed himself and put his money where his mouth is
3rd goal
It’s like prime Messi and the finish

What do we have on our hands here????
Perhaps of some interest . . .
Segecic’s acceleration is described as “explosive”.
That source measures his acceleration as the 5th highest of all Croatian players rated . . (166 Croatians rated).
No one on the national team is higher.
I don’t know if that is consistent with Anon’s eye test . . .
Can you please post the source with the 166 Croatians rated?
Would be interested to see the list
Think it’s fair to say Segecic is explosive from a standing start, but that he doesn’t have a particularly fast top-speed. But that explosiveness (first two-three steps) lets him get out of tight/close space and away from defenders really well. Not everyone can/needs to be Micky VDV (who is the opposite – not particularly explosive – but once he gets going he is fast).
Would rather be explosive and normal speed in Sege’s position
Than not explosive and above-average speed (as you won’t be a position to utilize the speed with ball at your feet as you don’t get past the first man to begin with)
Anon
Go to “SoFIFA FC 26.” (Google it.)
The SoFIFA site comes up. Hit Search.
Enter Segecic into the search engine. Hit the submit button.
His profile will come up. Hit the Croatian flag just below his picture. That gives you all the 166 or so Croatian players on database. (Note, only two HNL teams are covered, Dinamo and Hajduk. So Jagusic is now covered by the data base as he is in the Greek league).
Gvardiol will come up as the top rated Croatian (overall) out of 166. Then Modric, etc etc.
Click on “Sort By Overall Rating Designation.”
A menu comes up. It says “Sort by. . .” Go down the menu to “movement” and click on movement.
New menu comes up. Click on “acceleration.”
Then the site generates a list that say: “Sort By Acceleration Descending.” That is your list you are looking for. You should see 166 players on it. Segecic is in the 5th highest spot.
Not saying the database is the be all end all, not saying they always get it right, but some find it useful. . . .
He can replace Marco pasalic who might miss WC cause of injury!! Sucks
Feel terrible for Marco – just as he’s become more established on the NT – but’s that’s life – hopefully he recovers – if not, next best man in line steps into his place
Segecic, Stojko or maybe Jaga
The thing about Marco – is he has proven to be VERY defensively responsible for the NT – against Gibraltar he made a couple of half/three-quarter of the field sprints back to break-up counter-attacks – not sure any of the three alternatives bring that kind of defensive responsibility to their game (but could be wrong)
England-watch
Dom Solanke just went down knee/hamstring
Either he’s not going to the WC or he’s faking it to save himself for the WC
Stanisic is playing too many minutes – he should load manage himself ASAP

Resale tickets CAPPED at Face Value
FIFA marketplace had to REMOVE all Toronto games and the tickets will be re-listed at FACE VALUE at a MAXIMUM
The beauty ?
All the speculators that bought tickets – hoping to make a profit – are now going to RUN FOR THE EXITS – and list tickets at BELOW FACE VALUE to get them off their books (especially the crappy / nose-bleed tickets)
Anonymous tried doing the same for Texas and Pennsylvania too – but was much trickier to pursue as Mr. T wasn’t having any of it given he’s buddy with Infantino
At least we got Toronto games done
You’re welcome

While tickets to FIFA World Cup events in Toronto this summer were expected to be exempt from the resale cap, a spokesperson for the minister of public and business service delivery and procurement said the cap would in fact apply to the sporting event as well.
“FIFA will be subject to the cap, no exemptions,” said Giulia Paikin, press secretary for Stephen Crawford.
Crawford told reporters on Friday the recap rule takes effect immediately and that his government would be in communication with ticket-selling companies.

Dear Diary ….
Unforgivable from Pandur
x.com/2Dfut/status/2048025498995896664
MONTHS ago – Anonymous gave Pandur the note that he needs to stretch his arms/hands maximum length to make saves – instead of risking that the ball is definitely going over the cross-bar or outside of the post
He still hasn’t cleaned that up – this goal he guessed wrongly the strike would go wide – it didn’t
FFS – Anonymous can’t work like this
Final
Hull lose 2-1
Anonymous is really PISSED at Pandur for that 2nd goal
Wrexham face #1 Coventry tomorrow and can basically guarantee themselves PO with a win
Instant impact and assist from juranovic! Class is permanent despite injuries.
He slept with the FEMALE coach to earn his game time.
Apparently she is one of the ex-Milan escorts – so they go WAY back.
