Ante Rebić is absolutely on fire! After a fantastic goal last weekend, Rebić did it again Sunday in a 2-1 victory over Genoa. In the 13th minute, Rebić sent a left-footed rocket from 18 yards out as his momentum was taking him away from goal. He looks as hungry as ever; and this is all without Zlatan due to a red card suspension.
However, Rebić did miss a sitter in the second half; crushing the ball over the crossbar. He should have easily had two goals in this match – but with Euro 2021 two months away – he is in absolute perfect form. There’s only seven matches remaining in the Serie A season and AC Milan trail Inter Milan by nine points. Mario Mandžukić came on with 30 minutes to play.
Luka Modrić and Real Madrid missed a golden opportunity to keep pressure on leaders Atletico as they played out a scoreless draw with Getafe on Sunday. Modrić was given a 7/10 grade as “he suffered in the midfield and often couldn’t find a way to move the ball forward (a bit uncharacteristic). Had to drop into defence to help the backline multiple times which limited his influence. Finished with one shot, two dribbles, one aerial won and one tackle.” Real Madrid now travel Atletico by three points.
Mateo Kovačić is still out with a hamstring injury but Chelsea got the job done without him; defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup semifinal match Saturday. Chelsea will now play Leicester City May 15th for the FA Cup title.
Andrej Kramarić has been cold. He played 90 minutes in Hoffenheim’s 0-0 draw vs. RB Leipzig.
