Lovro Majer continued his extraordinary season with Rennes Sunday night in a 4-2 victory over Lyon. Majer scored the game winner in 1st half injury time with a wide open look on target following a Lyon defensive collapse. Majer would cap off the game with a simple insurance assist to Martin Terrier four minutes into the 2nd half to cap off a ‘one goal, one assist’ match. With the win, Rennes remain one point out of a Champions League berth for next season. The top three clubs in France will dance in September and Rennes is on the cusp of playing with the big boys. Will we see Lovro Majer return to CL ball?
Borna Sosa with another wonderful game-tying assist in the 90th minute for Stuttgart on Saturday. The guy can swing in the best crosses from the left side of the field. With the 1-1 draw, Stuttgart remain ahead of Union Berlin in a very tight Bundesliga relegation battle.
Ivan Perišić played the first half in Inter Milan’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Torino Sunday night. Marcelo Brozović is currently out with with a muscle knock and Inter looked completely lost without him in the midfield. With the draw and an AC Milan win this weekend, Inter now trail their city rivals by four points for the Serie A title. Inter are definitely at a 52-week low with this drop of points and making an exit from the Champions League Round of 16 this week; albeit it was against Liverpool with a valiant comeback.
Modrić and Real Madrid play Monday night.

A really nice read.
Thanks for link, great.
I dont see how majer doesnt surpass vlasic
You can argue epl over France for sure
But majer is smoking hot
I keep saying he is going to ride the modric train with the look style and initials to a quite large transfer
If he can put the effort of luka and develop more the limit is high for this young stud
Lovro Majer, 8 – Classic Majer. He has very little pace but doesn’t need any as he drifts around midfield picking passes and always making the right decision to start dangerous counterattacks. He was on hand to slot home the third and put Terrier in for 4-0.
I suppose what he lacks for in pace he makes up with iq
I’m sure he can continue to improve some of that with the modern training tho
The iq is a gift so hard to improve on I believe
He should wear #14 for us, just as a good omen.
Having a long haired blonde guy running around with the initials “LM” and a #14 on his back would be great.
If Real paid over 60 million for Luka Jovic because of that first name, they would pay double for Lovro “LM14” Majer.
Kovacic made a huge impact when he came on late, helped chelsea grab all 3 points
Majer another Goal, maybe an assist on the 4th goal as well, I’m not sure how those gracious they are with those in France…
Also questionable for me is the Vlasić call-up. Why him and not Musa or Pjaca? I must be missing something about what special skill-set he contributes
Well he’s just being grandfathered in due to past performances.
Dalić said himself that it’s hard to break into the team, but at the same time, it’s hard to fall out too.
Vlašić does play in a top league (so Im sure that’s being considered) but we don’t really need him at all now, due to the depth provided by Majer off the bench.
Pjaca is not needed either though, and it’s not like Pjaca is doing anything special this season. Just a feel good story that his injury plagued career is seemingly back on some sort of track.
Musa is interesting though due to his age and the position of need he plays in. Being one of the top scorers in Portugal is nice on the resume as well. He should be on the team because he could realistically be useful at this World Cup (if he continues to play the way he has been recently).
I hope Dalić doesn’t pull another “Dalić move” like he did with Gvardiol at Euro2020…where he doesn’t call up or play these younger guys (like Majer and Musa) THEN at the last minute, he decides to flat out start them during the tournament (with little to no preparation).
Surely Erlic deserves a call up instead of sticking with Lovren
Loyalty up to a degree I say
I’m sure he does.
But because he didn’t play on a top HNL club, and didn’t play on the U21 team…He’s being unfairly ignored.
It’s probably not on purpose. I doubt Dalić and his assistant coaching staff led by athlete knuckleheads (like Ćorluka and Mandžo) are actually watching any league games.
I can’t realistically see a guy like Ćorluka scouring through hours of tape to review and assess all the possible solutions we could have at the back. Mandžo even less likely.
They’re going to wait until the media brings it to their attention, especially if Erlić makes a transfer to a better team.

Who else thinks that Erlic should have been called up? He’s been one of Spezia’s best players all season. He plays all game, every game. That’s gotta count for something, no?
NO |l
Ya I honestly haven’t heard of him till the last little while.
I don’t know how skoric is next in line
I guess he just has more repka experience
Yes I think so
Lovre Kalinić looks pretty sharp in goal.
Hasn’t been too heavily tested, but his positioning is great, he’s aggressive on the high balls and doesn’t play scared.
Might be time to call him back up.
Could be smart to recall Kalinic. We don’t necessarily need a goalie to steal a game. Just having one who won’t lose a game will probably be enough to make a big difference.
Meh, I spoke a bit too soon.
5 minutes after I posted this, Kalinic ended up swatting a cross (instead of grabbing it). I hate it when keepers do that shit.
I was surprised to see Livakovic jump for a high ball in a crowd near the end of the game.
Normally he hesitates and completely pusses out in these situations.
Unfortunately, after he made the catch…he flopped on the ground for about an hour looking like he had his ribs broken with a baseball bat (even though there was barely any contact with anyone).
He finally mastered his fear of making contact with an opposing player…and now this experience will give him PTSD the next time he thinks about doing it.
I really hope Ivusic gets hot or something (now that he’s back from injury) and can give us an option in goal. Our GK situation really does suck. Nobody seems to be having a good season at all.
Ivusic gave us this random hope then the injury
Totally teased us
That’s what I’ve been saying
We got the battle of the HNL top brass and grbic
But kalinic pooping the bed that time probably has done it
He didn’t have enough positive repka resume stuff to out do it
But I’m almost game to give him a bit of time again
Big HNL Hajduk vs Dinamo game today. Traveling and will be looking for a link to the game today. Please let me know where to go to find a link for the game. Thanks
