The entire football world was talking about Ivan Perišić breaking Dutchman Virgil van Dijk’s ankles Sunday evening at Anfield. Liverpool would win the game 4-3 in injury time but the entire Twitter-verse is talking about Perišić’s cutback that would make van Dijk look like he had just learned to walk. Following the basketball “ankle break” (he did not really break his ankle), Perišić would cross the ball into the box to Harry Kane for the goal.
Van Dijk was given a 2/10 grade from 90min.com as “The image of Perišić skinning Van Dijk will live on as a meme forever.” The two will meet again on June 14th in Rotterdam when Croatia take on the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League semifinals.
Croatian left-back Borna Sosa received ‘Man of the Match’ honors Saturday and a 8.4 match rating (FOTMOB) in Stuttgart’s 2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach. Sosa played the full 90 minutes without a goal or assist. The win keeps Stuttgart one point free of the relegation zone in Germany with four matches remaining.
Marcelo Brozović played the full 90 minutes for Inter Milan in a huge 3-1 win over 2nd place Lazio Sunday. Broz received a 7/10 grade as he “Proved why he is integral to Inter, whether it is holding down and retaining the ball in defense, or building up in attack.” Via SempreInter.com. The win now puts Inter in a 3-way tie (57 points) with AC Milan and Roma for 4th place and the last Serie A Champions League berth. Six matches remain in the Italian season.
Joško Gvardiol got the start and played 59 minutes for RB Leipzig in a huge 1-0 win over Andrej Kramarić and Hoffenheim. The win keeps Leipzig two points behind the 4th place for the last Champions League berth next season. Krama played the full 90 minutes as Hoffenheim were shut out on the day.
Luka Modrić is out for 2 weeks with a thigh injury. Real Madrid defeated Almeria 4-2 Saturday and remain 11 points behind leaders Barcelona for the La Liga race.
Mateo Kovačić and Chelsea had the weekend off as the Premiership caught up with games in hand.
Van Dijk is not even a world-class player.
not like Canavaro or Maldini – they are a legend } }

being considered a world-class player
like Totti, F Baresi, Alex Del Piero
Bonucci is a decent player-0
Cannavaro won the balon d’or and you won’t consider him world class.
#$@_& you are dilusinal@$&362
Emoji random punctuation
you did not get that –
a world-class player:
Maldini, Gigi Buffon, Roberto Bagio, Pirlo
being considered a world-class player:
like Totti, F Baresi, Alex Del Piero, canavaro,
Dino Zoff, Paolo Rossi, Claudio Gentile
a decent player:
like Bonucci Gianfranco Zola, Alessandro Nesta
