Josip Stanišić, who is currently on loan at Bayer Leverkusen from Bayern Munich, scored the opening goal of Leverkusen’s 3-0 thumping of Bayern Saturday night. It is Stanišić’s first Bundesliga goal of the season and the victory puts Leverkusen five points clear of 2nd place Bayern Munich with 13 matches remaining in the season. Stanišić did not celebrate the goal as Munich still owns him and he may come back to the club in the summer. Leverkusen has been on fire this season with an undefeated 17-4-0 domestic record.
Andrej Kramarić scored a wonderful injury time equalizer against Koln to force a 1-1 draw Sunday night. With four minutes remaining in the match (90’+3), Krama chested the ball to himself in the middle of the box, set, and left-footed a wonderful shot inside the right post for the goal. It is Kramrić’s 8th goal of the Bundesliga season. Not bad for the 32 year-old.
Ante Budimir scored his 11th La Liga goal of the season Saturday in a 1-0 Osasuna win over Real Sociedad. He headed home a corner kick in the 49′ to score the lone goal of the game. Budimir is now tied with Antoine Griezmann on 11 La Liga goals. Only Bellingham, Dovbyk, Mayoral and Morata have scored for La Liga goals than Budimir this campaign.
Mateo Kovačić not on the squad list and Joško Gvardiol remained on the bench as Man City defeated Everton 2-0 Saturday.
Luka Modrić started on the bench Saturday and came on 70 minutes through as Real Madrid dismantled Girona 4-0. The win puts Real Madrid five points clear of 2nd place Girona with 14 La Liga matches remaining in the season.
Lovro Majer plays 74 minutes as Wolfsburg lose 1-0 to Union Berlin.
Apparently HNS sought out Petar Ratkov to play for them, and he has chosen Serbia instead. He would have been eligible to play for HNS as his mother is croatian
https://www.instagram.com/p/C3QlgAurcAg/?igsh=eDdmbzdrNWx1NjI1
I doubt we sought him out
He’s just saying that to poke Croatia/Croats
He has always supported Serbia, all his idols are Serbs, etc etc etc
https://en.nogomania.com/read/Serbia-Croatia-or-Bulgaria-Petar-Ratkov-finally-reveals-why-he-chose-to-play-for-Serbia
Why would HNS want him to play for us ?? He has similar goal record this yr to Simic on the same team and we don’t even give Simic (with his pedigree) a chance
His poke his so primitive and obvious it’s embarrassing – hopefully his football isn’t as primitive and obvious
this is not correct. HNS did reach out to him. And he is a serb. that part is correct.
We also have players who support Serbia or maybe it is better said have no problem with Serbs. War ended long time ago and most of these players were not alive for the war. they do not car. Look at current national team and number of players who go to Beograd to party and use serbian singers at their weddings and children’s parties.
@Davor
“Look at current national team and number of players who go to Beograd to party and use serbian singers at their weddings and children’s parties.”
What do you think about that?
Not caring about the Croats that went before them is really pathetic, who do you think they’re trying to impress?
“they do not car”
Do they train?
Budimir is so consistent for Osasuna
What’s up with Kovacic though? Also 2 last games played like 5 mins…
Man City are probably afraid the pickica is going to get injured again. They want him healthy so they can offload him at the end of the season.
He’s good. He became a Swifty
Hi is a sub for Man City and will start the odd game when one of the regulars are injured or need a rest. He is not consistent enough to be a regular starter. His fantastic play during the World Cup got the move to Man City. Hopefully he can play just as well as he did during the World Cup when the Euro’s come around. I thought he was our best midfielder during the Waaaaaorld cup.
Best midfielder during the World Cup. ?
KDB is back

Nice assist from Pasalic.
A lot of comments here about Luka not getting enough play time, and i agree to some extent. He is not happy unless he plays, but he has also been overplayed in the past. I’m OK with him being rotated, and not playing the full 90 minutes in most games. I’m also OK with him coming in as a super sub at 65 or 70 minutes. As long as he stays fit, and in form, this will keep him fresh and hungry and improve his longevity. Real have so many talented youngsters, who should have already taken over Luka’s position, but his excellent form has prevented it. Its completely understandable that these players need start integrating into the first team, so Luka and Toni Kroos will be relegated to the bench for this to happen. Its a long season for Real, with so many games coming up, especially if they make a deep run into champions league. I’m sure Luka will get enough minutes to keep him sharp and in-form over the next few months. If any key midfielders get injured (apparently Bellingham may be out for a few weeks) , then he should get more than enough playing time.
Well said. That captain guy at that Arsenal team was to potentially be a ballyhooed replacement for Luka when the former was at Real. Didn’t happen. Real has an embarrassment of riches in midfield and I’d take Luka to play any and every day, but with age as a factor — they are of course pushing to get the younger guys in there regularly.
Agreed, at this point, it should work in our favor, for keeping him healthy, because he will be playing 90 minutes for Hrvati.
Muscle memory at this point is his friend, he has seen it all.
If Stanisic was at fault for the winning goal it would have been crickets ? by tuchel.
Josip was unbelievable yesterday and his goal wasn’t even in the top 10 of his best plays of the day?
Intercepting multiple passes and leading odd man breaks all day…solid defending and even some great footwork IE tiki taka when he was being pressured by the opposition.
Alonso made tuchel look like a fool yesterday and it also goes to show how important a good coach is to a young player’s development! The negotiations should be interesting between the 2 clubs for Josip?
Luka not getting run is shameful… there was NO drop off in his play.
If this isn’t ageism at play I don’t know what is ?
Let’s hope this works in our favor with him having fresh legs in June there will be no rust on our classic Ferrari!

Beyond being super smooth and composed on the ball .. Stanisic was physical all match on defense.
He was up for this one and had something to prove.
Bayern fell asleep on his goal but he still made the run to be available to score.
He is improved with Alonso at Leverkusen.
He also has earned all his minutes .. something he did at Bayern before Tuchel.
It is a good sign that he can deal with the adversity and respond with performance.
Curious to see what happens with Tuchel with Bayern next year ?
Stanisic is once again on the ascent and needs to play.
Bayern has to make a choice to commit to him or sell him to a club here he is going to start regularly.
He turns 24 in April and is entering a time where the bench is not an option.
Tuchel will probably get the boot if Bayern do not win the title ?
Ante Budimir, Good decent person. Wishing him luck, hope there is still a continued story to be written, on the national team, and he surprises everyone.
tuchel can suck a d!CK. Stanisic was excellent for munich especially in the champions league. he shut down PSG with Messi. this f@ggot tuchel takes over and kicks out Josip.
sour grapes for the loser tuchel. I’m sick of seeing bias against Croat players. atletico madrid, tuchel, English clubs. they can choke on cocks.
Tuchel probably hates the fact that Stanisic is German born and raised, but chose to play for Croatia.
More on Tuchel….

Tuchel not thrilled Stanisic played against Bayern…
Maybe he should actually learn the rule in England – I mean he coached there – lol
What he’s saying not accurate – there is no such restriction across the board in England
The rule does exists in the league – but doesn’t exist in domestic cup competitions (e.g. Carabao, etc) unless the player has already appeared that yr for parent club in that specific competition in earlier round (otherwise known as being “cup-tied”)
Tuchel should go cry to Bayern management who negotiated the loan agreement – they could have easily inserted a clause saying Stanisic can’t play against them
That’s on them for not negotiating it – and super silly to cry about it (they should cry to themselves they don’t know how to negotiate loan agreements they can live w/)
Pretty much this.
Tuchel is whining about there being no rule in place to protect him and Bayern from their own incompetence.
Stanisic has grown leaps and bounds under Alonso at Leverkusen.
In a title match against his parent club he delivers.
I am actually happy that Modrić is playing light minutes at Real.
It has been a lot football for him these past 6 years.
Real Modrić has faded out a long time ago.
Real Madrid moves for all super stars.
He still looks sharp to me.
He actually can play that role for Croatia through 2026!!
3-0 Leverkusen over BM.
FINAL. Huge win. As Ted says, Stanisic delivered a big message to Bayern Munich….
Good to see Stanisic win over a starting spot, on an undefeated team currently sitting atop the Bundesliga mind you.
It’s funny how a lot of those negative posters on this site suddenly disappeared now that the ‘so called’ out of form players are suddenly doing well.
Maybe they weren’t so out-of-form after all.
you will need to wait and see if Stanisic continues to start once the black players return from African Cup. He was not starting for a reason.
He will be starting when the African players return. He has been starting since the middle of December, which is a month before the African Cup started.
The black “players”? There is only one (Kossounou) on duty right now.
Kossounou hasn’t started since December 3rd, and that was almost two months before he left for the Africa Cup (he only went on international duty for them for the recent knockout round, and that was less than two weeks ago).
Stanisic has also been regularly starting ahead of Edmond Tapsoba as well (who is an African player and very often starts for Bayer).
The thing is, that Bayer has no reason to start Stanisic ahead of either of these two (as it’s not in their financial interest to do so). They don’t own Stanisic’s rights, and do not have the option to buy him.
Meanwhile, both Tapsoba and Kossounou are both highly rated players worth 35-40 million Euro each.
So, Stanisic has a lot working against him when it comes to starting for Bayer, but he’s still doing it.
Regarding Bayern L not owning the rights to Stanisic; It may be in the interest for the off the field management to favour their highly regarded youngsters, but field manager Alonso sees Stanisic as a better alternative. I don’t see Alonso changing a successful squad, and I don’t think the fact that BL doesn’t own the rights to Stanisic would affect his decision to play or not play Stanisic.
Yea ownership can’t complain.
The team is undefeated this year and could win it all.
Sad to see Luka brought in at the 70th minute when the game was 4 -0 for Madrid. Bellingham left injured earlier but Luka was not his replacement. He wasted this year having few to spare.
This is not a comment on season-long goings-on, but Ancho took some heat for taking out Diaz last game when he was playing so well. Am not surprised he was the first sub put on today.
Stanisic with a big fvck you to tuchel and bayern.
Stanisic with a goal vs bayern
That is a big goal in what is a huge, huge game. Should do a lot for his confidence, and he has been rounding into form of late.
Sofascore shows Leverkusen playing a 3-4-2-1 with Stanisic as one of the four in the midfield, playing on the right side. Anyone watching the game? Is that correct?
What do we think of that? I believe that is different than how they have been playing him….
I have him playing at right back for us, thinking we will play four at the back….and it seems our best four across the back are probably Stanisic-Sutalo-Gvardiol-Sosa….
Should be half time now….
Livescore is showing the same.
Maybe they want to bring Kossounou back on that left side (when he gets back from Africa Cup), but keep Stanisic in the starting lineup?
I wonder if there is some option to buy Stanisic at the end of his loan term?
Also, Lovro Zvonarek was on the bench for Bayern as well.
Somewhat ironic
The status quo on this site has been Stanisic RB and Juranovic playing RW-back – under the presumption Stanisic better defensively and Juranovic better offensively – maybe we were playing him “wrongly” at RB instead of further up (although I can’t remember him doing much going fwd in previous games for us – but maybe that was instructions from Dalic to sit back and don’t take risk going fwd)
The one run I remember from stanisic in that Turkey match was pretty darn impressive
I forget if we scored on it but it was memorable
Like I say stanisic is the talented utility guy who can play multiple spots and I hope will over perform for Croatia all said and done who we hoped tin jedvaj was a few years back
Budimir header, 1-0 at Real Sociedad.
So budimir is still a legit option for scoring
We just have to figure how to unlock him for us
If we can get the sosa budimir crosses going we may have something
Budimir and pasalic in the box is enough to convert something nice or something junk
Just have to figure this out
Luka vuskovic getting his first action today ( no idea how to watch).. still not sure why riding a bench in the polish league is good for 16/17 year old kid
How the heck did this even happen?
Why didn’t he just stay at home grow up some more
Surely playing at hajduk would be a better thing then some random polish team
But what do I know
Maybe Tottenham is trying to harden him with a yough polish winter?
He was not going to play at hajduk. Once he was sold to Tottenham it was there decision where he go to play. He is not that good of a player. Tottenham will realize this soon.
Davor with the positivity again bahahahahahahhaha
Next Balic incoming
Balic. come on people. nobody with a brain believed Balic was anything.
He might be right.
Even though Davor’s opinion is probably entirely based on him just hating on Hajduk players…
Luka Vuskovic didn’t look like a standout in the U19 UEFA Youth League when Hajduk went to the Finals.
I liked many of their other players instead, especially Pukstas and Brajkovic.
Vuskovic has massive size, and has some very good technique too (especially free kicks) which is a novelty…but not the most important thing for him right now.
I’m sure these features were a selling point (and got him noticed in British news outlets like the Guardian), but he needs to have better defensive awareness if he plans on continuing to play as a CB in the future.
It’s great to see a massive CB come and take a free kick for you, but it means nothing if you let guys blow by you for goals.
My point is…that maybe Hajduk doesn’t have faith in him and decided to sell high.
The fee turned out to be 13.8 million Euro, which is pretty insane for a 16 year-old kid.
I really hope Spurs paid this amount because they see something special in him.
Hopefully they take his development seriously, and his camp makes sure they have a plan for his development (and not just bouncing around from team to team).
When Hajduk was trying to sell Vuskovic he was playing first grade for Hajduk and was doing Ok albeit with some mistakes that resulted in goals. Once he was sold, he went back to playing for the youth team. He was not good enough to have a starting position in the first team hence his move to Poland.
It seems like a real weird destination for a team trying to develop young soccer player that they spent a good chunk of money on? let the kid play somewhere in Bosnia or Croatia , a number of teams would have given him time and he’d be better for it!
Vuskovic will be 17 in a week or so and he cannot go to England until he turns 18. I feel a bit sorry for him having to go to Poland, it would have been better if he stayed in Croatia playing for some second division team. I have watched him play for our U17 youth team and he is a very good player and stands out when playing against teams/opponents of similar age. It is a bit too much expecting him to stand out playing against grown up men. I hope that he is given a chance in Poland to play regularly which is vital for his development.
@Maminjo
Spurs are stacked w/ young CB talent
Romero is 26 (who Messi says is best CB in the world)
Van de Van 22 (fastest PL player EVER)
Dragusin 21 (just signed in Jan – as back-up to above 2)
They will sign one more this summer (as another back-up / capable of playing in Europe/CL next yr if they finish high enough)
Top prospects
Alfie Dorrington 18 – been w/ Spurs academy since 13
Ashley Philipps 18 – signed from Blackburn past summer (just went out on loan in Jan to Plymouth)
Neither Dorrington nor Philipps has received even a minute of game time yet w/ senior squad – this is despite both Romero (2x 3 game suspensions red cards) / VdV (hamstring – missed 10 games) being out (rather spurs played a back 4 consisting of four Full-Backs instead)
We need to be realistic – the chances that Luka actually ends up playing for Spurs in the PL eventually is very slim (not impossible – but not only will he have to progress / get better – he’ll have to leapfrog in front of those ahead of him in the pecking order)
Having said that – Spurs are one of the profitable sports teams in the world (they make GBP 4-5m per home game; host NFL games, concerts, F1 track/experience, tours, etc) – and Daniel Levy is very savvy and crazy tight on the pursue strings (Ashley Philipps was GBP 2+3-4) – while the Luka fee is barely a dent in the overall – Levy doesn’t spend money un-wisely – so he has a plan for Luka (like he will any other player)
But buying a player at such a young age is always a risk – so much can happen (inside and outside of football) – so Levy would have definitely made sure the diligence was tight before letting that kind of cash go for a 16 y.o.
Niko,
I looked up the results on Sofascore. Looks like Vuskovic’s team, Radomiak Radon, lost 6-0 to Cracovia in the Polish league today.
They got two red cards in the 6-0 loss. Vuskovic was on the bench to start BUT came on in the 66th minute, played 24 minutes total. He was given a 6.5 rating on sofascore, which was tied for third highest on his team. He won 2/2 air duels, not a lot else to report.
