Luka Modrić got his first Serie A start of the season Friday night in a 2-0 AC Milan victory over Venezia. Modrić played 74 minutes and was given a poor 5.5 rating from SempreMilan. ” I would assume he’s still not back in prime physical condition, so that can maybe be used as an excuse, but he looked a little bit rusty if I’m completely honest. There were some poor giveaways and his movement wasn’t as lively, for lack of a better word. I might get hate for this, but not shy of a pass tonight.”
Joško Gvardiol played 75 minutes and assisted in Man City’s 4-1 win over Palace Friday night. He came off the pitch for substitute Mateo Kovačić. Gvardiol was given a 7/10 grade from Manchester Evening News as he “Spent large chunks of the game near the Palace box and worked well with Semenyo in the final third.” Kova didn’t have much to do in the 15 minutes he was on the pitch with City holding a 2-goal lead. City are now perfect through the first two match of the season with Gvardiol already bagging a goal + assist in that span.
