- Luka Modrić returns from a groin injury and plays 79 minutes in Real Madrid’s 5-2 victory over Celta Vigo. Modrić received a 7/10 grade in his return as he “Showed his class with some terrific long-ranged passes. The creative heartbeat of his team.”
- Mateo Kovačić assists Lukaku with wonderful through-ball and adds a goal as Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-0
- Ante Rebić assists on both AC Milan goals in 2-0 win over Lazio, including Zlatan’s goal
- No goals for Andrej Kramarić as Hoffenheim lose 2-0 to Mainz
Some Kovacic love……
Vida might be out for next month and with CC in dog house maybe gvardiol pongracic will pair lovren in next 2 games as for up top gotta work with what we have krama budimir livaja maybe brekalo gets a call and pjaca gets in form
Rebic is only looking good since he’s paired with Zlatan. Ibrahimovic’s vision and positioning is so good that it’s easy for Rebic to find him. Once he leaves, Rebic will definitely not start or just never score. Might even go to another club or league. He’s still overrated af.
He was playing well and got a nice assist before Ibra even got on the field. But he was even more effective after Ibra came on, allowing him to play the left wing.
Some people thought Zlatan was feeding off Rebics talents last year which was fucking comical. Best thing about Rebic getting 2 assists is that he’s hopefully becoming slightly less selfish.
He’s a good player but in no way is he lifting Zlatans game. Clearly the other way around.
I feel for Kova- he has played behind the King Luka for so long and it must have been tough to develop and think of playing when you have to sit on the bench especially during 2018. Now , the time has come. Luka has a bit of time but it’s becoming apparent that the savez has an identity issue with both so it should be clear that Kova has to get the time and we have to move forward- hate to say that about the greatest player Croatia has ever seen but the young must play and the legend should see the writing on the wall- i love Luka for his play and his dominant national belief that Croatia fought for independence and we should never forget the sacrifice so many lives have made to say that Croatia is a free country- Hvala Luka but Kova looks ready to make the next leap
How can I get in touch with Maminjo…I need to ask him something? Can you guys here from CroSports give him my email?

From Managing Madrid:
Luka Modric—9: The Croatian is simply world class. He dictated all of Madrid’s good play and help facilitate the progression out of the back. It must be pure joy to play alongside Modric — whenever you are in a tough spot, just pass the Croatian the ball and he’ll find a way out. Produced an incredible bit of individual skill, beating four Celta Vigo players in one dribbling sequence, before shooting with the outside of his boot. The shot was parried, but gave Camavinga the opportunity to score his debut goal.
Rebic is a hot cold player never consistent player and is a remadona from what buddys in split tell me.
What he did at euros is not exceptable he gave up and acted like a child thanks for 2018 wc he was on hot streak with franktfurt and had momentam.
Id rather give pjaca a chance again if he has good season with torino. Rebic je debil imo.
Stats of note
5 passes into final third – 1st
6 progressive passes – 1st
4 tackles – 1st
21 pressures – 1st
4 carries into final third – 1st
2 shots – Joint 1st
7 progressive carries – 2nd
9 loose-ball recoveries – Joint 2nd
2 shot-creating actions – Joint 3rd
Budimir is the only #9 who provides an athletic presence up top. It’s not that he is the savior per say. It is that he his skill set would fit in well with our rejuvenated attack around him.
Did you see Rebić with two smooth assists yesterday?
Work out the issues and get my man back in the fold for October and November.
I find the sudden love for budimir on this site pretty funny as though he is suddenly the savior target man after Croatia plays well with him upfront for ten minutes against Spain
Give it one budimir start and a dud performance and the crowd will flip right back to treating him as a never was
It reminds me how after a 19 year old josip radosevic debuted and the next day cro sports poll showed him as overwhelming favorite as our future cdm
Because of Sosa’s inclusion most are suggesting they’d like to see him given a shot, makes sense to me, unsurprisingly it doesn’t make sense to you.
No Croats claiming Djokovic is theirs today?!
Some Modric love, it just never gets old……
Oh yes. Luka Modrić was well and truly back. We knew he’d been back in training for most of the past week, but we didn’t know if Modrić would start this game. Not only did he start it, but he played 78 minutes and put on a master class. The biggest non-goal celebration cheer of the night came when Modrić was substituted off to a brilliant standing ovation, one loud enough that you’d have thought there really were 80,000 fans inside the ground. They even chanted his name after the Camavinga goal, applauding the debutant for his effort and special moment, before “Modrić, Modrić, Modrić…” rang around the Bernabéu.
Rebic with two assists!
Evander took a dive.
Rebic pulling up with the two assists. Too bad he’s not starting or trying for us.
Great run by Modric just now, shot, save, gets of the ground and looks like he is getting a tap-in but Camavinga taps it in … and celebrates like he just scored from centre ffs/lol.
If Budimir disappoints for us, how about trying Vlasic or Pasalic as false #9’s? Vlasic is a bulldog!
Can’t be worse than Petkovic.
Just because he scored a goal today? Come on lol, if I scored 1 goal in a pro match would you want me to start? If he’s consistently good then sure, but he only scored a goal. Relax.
Supposedly, Vlasic did very well yesterday.
At the moment, he’s a good player. Let’s hope he takes his game to the next level and becomes a great player!
Yea they’re calling him Eden Hazard 2.0
When Modric comes back, how about trying Vlasic as a false #9?
I say we just throw Modrić up top at this point
Milan 2-0, Rebic 2 assists and MOTM
Could it be that Dalić is an idiot who doesn’t know how to use Rebić and just used him as a scapegoat for the Euros?
No, Rebić just played like shit. He seems to be very streaky,…either hot or cold.
Yes, he was out of form, but our coach also compounded the issue by playing Rebić in the špica role the first few games.
Then we decide to try and outposses Spain, which is a strategy you cannot play against Spain with Rebić in the lineup.
Spain chose to bench their version of Rebić in Adama Traore so that they could play their possession strategy. We didn’t do the same, and we didn’t sub Rebić out until late in the second half (even after it was very obvious that things weren’t working).
I agree with you about Dalic’s slow reaction…not pulling him out sooner, or switching the formation when it was obviously not working. But, trying Rebic up top wasn’t a terrible idea (especially when we didn’t have any in-form strikers at the time). He actually played out of position for Milan often. He even started there yesterday and played pretty good. He moved over to the left wing when Ibra came on, and played even better in his natural position.
Livaja all three gols in 3-1 Hajduk win today.
Lgbtq+ Italy has asked for a meeting with torino to discuss the signing of brekalo since he refused to wear the armband to support lgbtq rights citing Christian values
I’m glad to see the organization pursue this as he must be held accountable and there should be very serious consideration of all club teams unifying to blacklist brekalo
If kapernick can be banned from the nfl for protesting systemic racism and police brutality than surely brekalo can be blacklisted for homophobia
I was glad to see dalic finally took the action i had advocated and dropped brekalo from the repka for his views
LOL, shutup man.
Hahaha! You keep fighting the good fight
Perversion is not a right. ZDS!
Hah! Good joke Mr. Woke. Your logic defies logic. Brekalo is quoted as saying he has no issue with anyone’s lifestyle, but he shouldn’t be required to wear their symbol. What is wrong with that? You wish to discriminate against him for his religious or personal beliefs. Who is more discriminatory, you or him?
I have nothing against homosexual people and never will. They should be allowed to do as they please, but so should everyone else. Yes, support them, but do we really need to wear an armband just to prove that? I find it’s a bit overboard and Brekalo did just fine in not wanting to wear it.
Truth has a point. Brekalo if he doesn’t change he’s done.
They will blackball him.
Would they say anything if he was a Muslim? Homosexuality is sexual disfunction. Nothing cool about it,
It doesn’t matter though. Politically is all that matters though. I dunno
You might have a point there truth. I think you might be correct
I watched the Borussia dortmund game today and was surprised to see Pongračić there. I didn’t realize he was loaned out. He played well and the commentators praised him all game. When he was subbed out at the end of the game, they mentioned that he won 100% of the duals, or something like that. As a few of you already mentioned, his forward passes are very good too. Hopefully he keeps his starting spot and continues to improve.
Kova is killing it at Chelsea(and for the repka). He would have been the man of the match if Lukaku didnt score a brace. Beautiful goal for kova too…I was really impressed with the finish.
Pjaca and Brekalo starting on the wings for Torino tommorrow
Only Pjaca. Pretty sad for Brekalo.
Yup. Had he played, they would have won 6-0 instead of 4-0.
(and hire him for our National Team)
Crnković .. di si brate!
Is there a better 6/8 Brozovic/Kovačić in the world?
Play Modrić as #10.
He is our best player in the final third.
Luka Sučić 😉
How is he doing so far this season?
We haven’t heard too much overall on him here
I know he has some CL duties already
Gotta include Pongračić in these updates.
We know Dalić doesn’t watch games, but he might be reading this site.
Gotta keep pumping up Pongračić.
This is why Krama is benched. He’s so dog shit now. Kovacic is a different breed. He’s filling Modric’s boots perfectly and still underrated. Definitely one of the best mids in the premier league. The only way he’d get minutes was when he left Real. If only he left sooner and got more minutes. Contributed so much to Chelsea’s success and holds the midfield together.
Maminjo, soul champ, danny j, poglavnik, the truth, laknat…I’m still here brothers. Dont worry
We thought COVID got you
I was reading Dalic said that only inform players will be called and history with national team wont matter so looks like vrsaljko wont he getting called for a while shoukd left athletico i guess hes given up. Stansic is still a ? Id like to see him get a A call up and see how he plays.
Also pongracic if he plays for dorthmund get a call up in place of mile skoric.
Id like to before modric retires play a midfield of sucic modric kovacic passing of tourch from luka.
Wish we have a number 9 like someone said we would be real deadly
At first i read it as “a goal assist” and thought yeah okay no biggy but a goal and an assist is a different prospect, lol
Sick moves from kova
We have seen him struggle and seen him do some magic
I think we can all agree he needs consistency
And I think he has a good spot there in Chelsea
The guy has played with the best of the best
If he can turn into some Croatian aging fine wine
5-6 years of him at a higher level
He can never be luka but if he is even 75 percent of him we will be lucky
Pongarcic had the mono? I guess he is fit now it seems
A back line of all bundesliga is fine by me!!
Hopefully we can bounce back from this shit spell
Remember guys without being homer glasses We have above average quality in most of our positions now
It’s enough talent if you add Croatian fire to do something
As long as they all get on the same page
Can rebic even be in the mix with dalic at the helm??
His pressing could certainly be used if he puts the effort
Yo .. MATEO Kovačić !!
This past week he was our unsung hero.
Confidence is the game changer for him.
Saul these nuts!!
Tuchel loves him too.
Prime Kovačić as the Modrić transition begins. I would take that deal any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Could you imagine our attack if we had a legit #9?!
I need to see Ante Budimir in October.
A goal and an assist?! Come on now..
Actually would like to see a 3-5-2 with a back three of Pongracic, Caleta-Car and Gvardiol with two wingbacks – Perisic and Sosa. (Even though Perisic would have to play the right side).
Add Luka, Brozo, Kova in midfield plus Budimir, Krama/Vlasic up front.
Yea, this is an interesting lineup
Wow… Kova goal!! Nice one too, smart play by him. This could be his true breakout season.
All of the Kovacic doubters are going to be quiet until his form dips. Great season so far from him.
Kovacic with a great assit
That was unreal to get rid of the pressure from 3 players outside of his box to that unreal long ball to Lukaku….circa his Inter Milan days
I think my phone has a mind of its own. Wasn’t laughing at Pongracic’s health issues.
Great to hear about Pongracic. He’s had a rough few years
With his health issues
lolo I’d love for Pongracic to start getting some playing time again. Having a Pongracic/Caleta Car CB duo would be excellent. I believe they have familiarity as they played together a bit at RB Salzburg.
I hope Vlasic starts to play well at West Ham.
I’m hoping that we (some day) try out a CB pairing of Gvardiol and Pongračić.
Ćaleta-Car is solid, but I like fast defenders (and Duje sometimes seems a little slow).
Pongračić is roughly the same size as Duje, but is noticeably faster.
Would love to see a “Bundesliga back four” of Sosa, Gvardiol, Pongračić, and Stanišić one day.
commentators were criticizing grbic at 7:38
Yea they criticized him for tipping the ball away, instead of trying to catch it or punch it clear on a few crosses.
It’s well deserved criticism and he needs to work on that.
He looked pretty decent in these extended highlights. Well positioned and pretty good reflexes. The two goals against were largely the fault of the defenders. One striker running through a crowd of four defenders (lol wtf?) and the second one being an own goal deflection from the defender.
He should probably be called up ahead of Sluga as our third keeper. Nice to see us with a few keepers now.
Pongračić starting for Dortmund today, and looking very solid.
Nice long ball pass just now too, leading to a chance.
Gotta start calling up guys like this now that they’re in form.
Broke up two very clear cut chances that could’ve very easily been goals.
Announcers giving him a lot of love.
His defensive awareness is excellent, as well as his long ball passes forward (even under pressure).
I can’t see him NOT securing a starting spot for Dortmund if he keeps playing like this.
He’s doing everything right; winning aerials, tackles, and very comfortable with the ball. Great to see Pongracic getting the start over Hummels.
Grbic was best rated lille player conceded 2 goals non his fault. Like to see him instead of sluga 3 livi ivusic grbic trio healthy competion for number one.
Is Ibrahimovic still playing? Or did the Balkan hothead retire?
You mean 1/4 Cetnik, 1/2 Hrvat Djokovic.
Indeed, T-minus 4 weeks until Cyprus.
This is a great mini window for our boys to keep the momentum going or get healthy.
I would love to see Budimir up top with all these new look weapons flying down the flanks.
I want to see if Rebić can get going at AC Milan?
He has a role to play as well despite any dumb ass comments he has made.
We need all that electric fire power to start away to Cyprus.
Be nice for Russia to drop some points as they play the better sides of our group to make that last match irrelevant.
How cool would be if that last match was all younger players.
They would probably run Russia off the Poljud pitch!
Hopefully our u21 players and our NT members can keep this positive momentum going across the club season, this is an important window of time for everyone involved… health, playing time, and career growth will help with qualification, and WC success
Unrelated cetnik note …Djokovic about to win career slam – would he do it without a hrvati mother. No fuckin chance.
Za Dom spremni
*consecutive grand slam, he’s got a career grand slam already…
