19 year-old Luka Sučić scored another long-range goal Sunday to add to his already impressive mantle. In the 27′ versus Rapid Vienna, Sučić ripped a low shot from 24 yards to hit the side netting. This is the exact playmaker the Croatian senior side needs. Someone who can shake things up on offense with fearless shots from long range that hit the target. Sučić is still a teenager and will slowly be integrated into the Croatian senior side. This is expected to happen after the 2022 World Cup as the Vatreni enter EURO 2024 qualifying. RB Salzburg are 12 points clear of Sturm Graz for the Austrian lead and automatic Champions League berth.
Will 24 year-old Petar Musa get a shot at the Croatian national side in 2022? I would sign him up for Nations League matches in June to shake up Kramarić, Livaja and the rest of the strike force. Musa scored once again for Boavista in a 2-1 win over Famalicao in the Portuguese league Saturday; cleaning up the trash in front of net with the goalie out of position. Musa is currently on loan from Slavia Prague and has now scored 10 goals in 24 appearances for Boavista this season.
Šime Vrsaljko sent in a near perfect cross to Joao Felix Saturday to open up the scoring for Atletico Madrid in a 4-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves. From the sideline, Vrsaljko whipped in a low and speedy cross that could only be met by the head of Felix. Vrsaljko played the full 90 minutes as a right winger in Atletico’s 3-5-2 formation; giving him less defensive responsibility. Can we count Vrsaljko out for the World Cup? Not quite yet.
Joško Gvardiol was integral in Leipzig’s 4-1 win over 2nd place Borussia Dortmund Saturday as he pocketed Erling Haaland, keeping the Norwegian striker at 0 shots and beating him in 2 ground duels. Gvardiol played a near perfect defensive game but provided little on the offensive end.
Marcelo Brozović returned from injury and was ‘Man of the Match’ for Inter Milan Sunday in a crucial 1-0 victory over Juventus. Brozović played 77 minutes while Ivan Perišić got the full 90. Perišić had a quiet game as Inter ‘s strategy was to attack down the opposite flank. With the win, Inter trail rivals, AC Milan, by only three points for the Serie A lead.
Vrsaljko excellent today. If he stays fit he is a massive bonus for us. Really good. And a strong character which is equally important. Fingers crossed
Best thing about this article is Vrsaljko.
Vrsaljko all day over Juranovic. If healthy and in form which is more likely lately vrsaljko is the guy. A back line of :
Sosa. Gvardiol. D-cc. Vrsaljko.
Sucic strike is class he has to be their in Qatar if he’s playing well. Majer and Sucic really give us a dynamic we haven’t had In a really long time. Enough with the Livaja and Vlasic call ups that’s just embarrassing. We have a combination of wingers and midfielders and AM that we can take on anyone.
Perisic, orisic, Brekalo,Pjaca Majer Sucic. That should be our wingers/AM.
Modric, kova, brozo jakic. CM
Krama, Budimir, and try Musa for forward.
Ivusic
Vrsaljko . Gvardiol. D-CC. Sosa
Modric Brozo
Majer Sucic. Perisic
Kramaric
Kova and Modric can take turns starting but shouldn’t start at same time. Modric won’t be able to start every game to old for tournament soccer, 3 games in basically a week group stage. So kova will start in his place.
u gotta be joking with sucic starting? if u r trolling congrats u gave me a chuckle. if not, plz stop commenting its embarrassing
What’s embarrassing?
I remember in the fall when people had the same reaction when I said Majer should start!
Now it’s a given he’s on most people starting 11.
Only thing embarrassing is your stupidity, I’m sure you believe that kova brozo and Modric should all start together and after 3 years of 60% possession and zero scoring c he chances thing will automatically change just cause we believe it !

Dalic still doesnt have a starting 11 and doesnt risk anything i think if he wasnt pushed by media nad pressured he never play majer sosa or gvardiol in team which is insane to me. And why not give musa a chance cant lose anything. Id even call simic if he goes to A football in summer on loan or plays for rb salsburg.
All on Dalic to build in nations league 3 5 2 to me was a fail perisic is a waste a lwb this isnt club football perisic at 33 is still our most dangerous attack option.
I was looking at the draw getting ahead of my self we need to finish first imo then the road to semi is much less demanding if we top group you posiblly get spain germany then portugal uraguay serbia swiss or in quarters maybe denmark semis i know ima ahead of my self you can get france engalnd maybe denmark anythong possible if you finish second then its spain or germany then brazil holland or argentina is the path.
Not saying the formation should be built around Krama, but we essentially waste him using him as a lone striker. I trust Persic a lot more to adapt and play well in different positions than Kramaric.
Perisic did play CF in Inter’s 352 formation within the last year or so. I agree, he will succeed in any position and is an obvious starter for us.
The focus of the next round of friendlies and UNL games has got to be:
1. Trying out the different goalkeepers (and picking the one that suffers from agoraphobia the least)
2. Trying out the different strikers like Musa, Budimir, and perhaps Roko to see if they can bring something (either off the bench or as a starter)
3. Building more chemistry with that back foursome in Sosa, Gvardiol, Duje and Juranovic
4. Assuming Vrsaljko continues to gain back his fitness, give him some time at RB with the new backline (as his defensive ability on that right side could be better than Juranovic’s)
5. Trying different RW options in Majer, Orsic, and perhaps Brekalo (depending on form)…or tweak the formation a bit so that Krama can start with a frontman up top (assuming item #2 works well)
That is all.
I agree _
but Dalic still wants to go for Lovren and Vida +
so it can’t be help if he wants to not fulfill your 5 commandments
no 1) He will stick with Livakovic or Grbic for sure but not for Ivucic
no 2| Dalic will put Livaja – Kramaric or Budimir I{no other options except Petkovic)
no 3) Dalic absolutely will play Lovren there
no 4) the formation is gonna be 3-5-2 with Perisic or Juranovic will be there
no 5) RW will be between Pasalic or Kramaric {O
Nice goal from Sucic.

Nice goal from Sucic.
Vlasic really needs to loan on summer he just isnt cut for england i guess second stint and flop again.
I agree we need vlasic to get some confidence back. Going on loan would be good. 2 things though.
1. I dont think Moyes would allow it, he might be prepared to sell him though to create funds for some of the targets Moyes wants. Let’s hope that happens.
2. I dont think the problem is between English football and vlasic. Vlasic confidence is completely shot. Early season he started against man utd and was excellent. But since then he has become a shadow of his former self. Scared to try things, scared to shoot (which is one of his strengths).
Also moyes is a manager who doesnt like to rotate at all. He likes to breed confidence and consistency by starting the same players every week. He’ll only change it if he has to. Or if the new player is clearly better than the other options. Bowen is an example of how moyes sticks with one player for years to slowly build them into the best version of themselves. Very loyal very conservative in that respect. So he wont drop Bowen. fornals, benrahma, lanzini are similar types of player to vlasic and are all good. So when you put this together with vlasic poor start to the season it becomes very difficult. Vlasic should talk to moyes and say hey, I need to play, either sell me, sell a couple of the others in my position, or loan me out. It’s a world cup year
Vlasic sucks!
People make so many excuses for Vlasic. Maybe the guy just isn’t good? Honestly think he isn’t a winger or a striker or a AM or a good one! Maybe moyes just can’t justify playing him. The guy paid 35 mill for him so I believe he’s like too but Vlasic susks and belongs in Russia or Ukraine.
It’s a shame Dalic still calls him if he was true to his word on o lu callling players that are fit and playing.
Great to see Vrsaljko with another 90 min. Won 8/8 aerial duels as well. He could be a great option at RCB for Dalic.
Musa goal scoring is only going to increase his confidence. Although, it looks like him and our other CBs will have to wait until after the World Cup.
Really disappointing to see Vlasic as an unused sub again. I think missing the preseason really affected his ability to solidify a starting role.
I know we don’t know if musa is the true goods yet
But if he were a viable option… what sort of system suits him? Can he play lone striker?
That was a gritty goal and still did well with that finish
How’s his heading? We need a gritty poacher who can head( calling all mandzo types)
From what I’ve seen, he looks to be a Mandzo type of striker, but not as aggressive. He’s got some speed, decent with the ball at his feet and he’s got a great header/shot. He always wins his headers and I guarantee he’d have more goals this season if his team actually knew how to cross him the ball. Usually they get lucky with a crappy cross that ends up connecting and it’s always in the back of the net. He’s definitely got a better header than Krama, Petko and Budimir (he’s stronger than Budimir too). If Sosa can connect him with 3-4 crosses per game, I’m saying at least one hits the back of the net. When Benfica sell their star striker Nunez, Musa would be an excellent replacement and he’d be getting much better service from his wingbacks.
Yea, I’m curious how Musa would do on a team not named Boavista.
Boavista has been a near relegation team in recent years (and were pretty much in the relegation zone all season)…but in the latter half of the season, they’ve pulled themselves up from the bottom and are a mid-table team.
Apparently, they’re in a bit of a fight with Slavia Prague over their option to buy Musa.
Prague are saying that Boavista did not pay the $250,000 loan fee on time, so they no longer have the option to buy at the end of the season.
Boavista are obviously fighting this, because Musa is their leading scorer and they could easily flip him for a bigger transfer almost immediately (or keep him, considering he’s a big part of their recent ascent). The option to buy is only 3.5 million Euro, so you can imagine why both teams are fighting over this.
He’s tall, young, and scoring goals in a decent league but on a mediocre team.
It would be interesting to see him in the UNL games and what he would do with Sosa crosses and Modric passes in the box.
Musa doesn’t seem to be “header” guy really.
I’m just basing this off his goal stats found on Transfermarkt.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/petar-musa/alletore/spieler/387110/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&minute=&pos=&torart=&stand=
If you scroll down and look at the current 2021/22 season, you can see that Musa only scored one header out of the 10 goals he’s scored this year.
Ante Budimir seems to be the “header” type.
He hasn’t scored much this season, but last season he had most of his goals coming from headers.
The problem I have with Budimir starting is that he’s not having a good club season, and he’s kind of slow to play that pressing style that did us well in the last World Cup.
I’d obviously still want to see more of him, but at the same time, we should call up Petar Musa because he’s having a great season, he’s young (and on an upward trajectory), and he looks to be faster than Budimir (which could be beneficial for that pressing we need).
Kramaric is no slouch with headers either. He’s good at them, but Krama does like to play more like a midfielder.
But if we are considering benching talent (like Sosa) from the starting eleven in favor of Budimir and Musa, then we should probably think again.
We need to roll with our best eleven, and we can always make in-game adjustments if our scoring chances remain flat.
One thing that stands out with Musa is he’s got decent pace too. So he would be more of a threat for through balls from our midfielders. Not just decent crosses from Sosa. Let’s see if Dalic calls him up for Nations League. But I think he would’ve called him for the last friendlies if he was considering it. Budimir hasn’t been in good form at all but Dalic decided to go with the more experienced option. Although, now that we’re not fighting for a World Cup Pot position, maybe Dalic is willing to experiment more.
Is it legal in Qatar to dispute 6,000,000 Jews were exterminated in by Germans?
I’m also ready to see musa
You’re biased because of his last name.
😉
Also, watched Toronto today. Brekalo was good. Very responsible and confident. He is still a player. Brekalo, vlasic, orsic, petkovic, budimir, livaja, ivanusec, pasalic all of these are very good players. They are the same level, capable of winning games but also with some weaknesses
Depending on situation they can be effective. Up to coach to bring them in at the right time
I saw halilhodzic at the draw. He was excited to face croatia. But also scared. He is not a westerner. He knows our football our quality. His morocco will be very good believe me. Hopefully we beat them and they then humble Belgium and Canada. Dont bet against it
Vlasic and petkovic were both fantastic when we beat Scotland. We have the talent. We can do amazing things again. Most important is gvardiol. He changes the dynamic of the team. And majer. Did you see majers pass for barisic against Bulgaria? Pure quality. And confidence. You play your 11 best players. Later you make changes if necessary
Musa definitely needs to be called up.
He’s got more than three times as many goals as Budimir, and has also played limited minutes in the early part of the season.
The guy is red hot right now and is a top 10 scorer in the Portguese league.
Will probably end up in the top 5 at this rate.
Let’s see what he can do with Sosa crossing the ball to him and what our elite central midfield can create for him.
If he presses hard for us, he could be a Mandžo replacement for us.
Musa with another goal as well. Nothing pretty, but a goal nonetheless.
https://streamja.com/VkKwX
I know hes not prso or mandzo but why not call him up what do we have to lose
Well for one, Livaja 🤣
Timo Werner would have missed that.
Vrsaljko if healthy is good for us he has experience is a good defender imo.
I cant wait for nations league will be going v france in split i hope we can finally get a W vs them.
2 friendlies in November in qatar im reading might be an african team and a concacaf team
Ya we don’t need any European teams for friendlies that’s for sure
African and some decent concacaf team
