AC Milan beat Crotone 4-0 on Sunday to stay atop the Italian Serie A table. First, Zlatan scored a brace for Milan and then Ante Rebić matched him later in the game with two of his own. Rebić got the start and played 77 minutes in the victory; scoring his first goal of the game in the 69th minute with a header off a corner. One minute later, Rebić would bang in the ball from the middle of the box with the Crotone goalie out of position. Rebić remains on absolute fire following his short stint out with COVID and a dislocated elbow. Mario Mandžukić was subbed in during the 77th minute.
Rebić Scores Brace For Milan
There were tons of rumors that Ivan Perišić was not happy in Milan and would be moved this winter transfer window. That time has now passed and the 32 year-old Croatian winger looks to have regained his starting spot back. Friday night, Perišić got the start in Inter’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina and scored a tap-in goal off a run down the left flank to add some insurance. Perišić played 80 minutes while CDM Marcelo Brozović went the distance in the match. Inter Milan remain two points behind leaders AC Milan in Serie A.
Perišić Goal
Andrej Kramarić made sure he got his name on the scoresheet Sunday in Hoffenheim’s 3-1 loss to 4th place Eintracht Frankfurt. Krama got the start and played the full 90 minutes, assisting on Ihlas Bebou’s 47′ goal with a pass at midfield. Bebou did all the work with a 50-yard run through the Frankfurt defense. Kramarić didn’t score against a surprisingly good Eintracht team this season but left his mark with the assist. With the loss, Hoffenheim only sit five points above the relegation zone. It’s time for Krama to leave for a bigger club int he summer.
Modrić Backheel To Benzema
Luka Modrić looks like a kid playing football with his friends in between classes. 35 years old. No problem. Modrić had a cheeky back heel pass to Benzema on Saturday that caught the internet by storm. Real Madrid beat Huesca 2-1 and Modrić was given a 7.75 grade from ManagingMadrid as we saw “Some Modrić magic came out today and it was quite something. Had some good link-up play with Benzema and Asensio. Finished with a low (for him) pass completion rate of only 77% but also had three dribbles, one aerial won, one key pass, one tackle and was dispossessed twice.” Real Madrid sit seven points behind leaders Atletico.
Well said Maks.
Dear God. Use grammarly or something.
Rebic can suck deez nutz. All of a sudden you dum cunts think rebic better than Josip? Wit Brekalo we win european cup. like my buddy always says Rebic will leave u scratching your head. Did u see russia world cup? he missed many goal shots. wit brekalo we wood of beat france
Good news about Budimir. Having an extra finishing threat will be very helpful for us in those games where we struggle to put shots on goal
@Markus – they can alternate as they did at the world cup. It was pretty confounding for teams like Nigeria and Argentina that weren’t just parking the bus. It worked against France too, but the reffing called a foul on Rebić every play he was involved in…
Budimir with the match winning goal today. I know he’s not exactly a world beater, but I for one am happy to have a little depth.
My question is Rebic or Perisic on the left wing? I feel like Perisic is a tad more adaptable to move to the right but I’m not sure.
Krama seems to have the CF locked with Perisic and Rebic on the wings for sure. He’s playing similar to Benzema by dropping deep to collect the ball and create for others. This strategy very much suits Rebic and Perisic who are willing runners towards goal. Let’s hope they can stay healthy and in form until the summer.
.
Good for Brekalo to have a pressure free tournament if he’s asked to come off the bench to provide a spark. Unless, Brekalo really develops further during the 2nd half of the season.
Kramaric with an assist today in Hoffenheim’s loss
It seems that Gvardiol is experiencing some growing pains. I’m not watching the game, but to be subbed off after only 22 minutes without injury is cause for concern. In 2 of the last 3 games he was subbed out early. Hopefully he learns from the message the coach is trying to send.
How about 4-3-3 for our Repka with Rebic-Kramaric-Perisic. Rebic can do all the dirty work for Karma to capitalize
Rebic is still probably working his way back to full fitness and Ibra was also on 2 goals; gotta think long term. But Rebic all over the highlights, seems like man of the match for me. Mandza almost scored a header after Rebic and Ibra were subbed.
They sub out Rebic with 2 goals 🤦♂️ always hate it when managers do that
wow another powerful one timer from close range from Rebic.
.
PS: Crotone (Milan’s opponent) are pretty garbage
…and a second goal, 1:09 later !
Rebic with some neat passes today, really hope he can strengthen this part of his game. Set up Leao, then Hernandez before a neat pass that led to their 2nd goal. 2 goals and 3 assists this season.
.
Plus he just scored a header where he held off two defender as I was writing this!
Ante – Would love to have a drink or coffee. Would of been easier when I was living in NYC (10 minutes outside of Astoria) but I’m in New England now so if you find yourself in and around Boston ever – or if I find myself in LA, I’ll give you a buzz.
@ Armada,
.
I love you too. But seriously, if we ever meet, first round’s on me. You’re a stud here on the boards.
.
Like I said on the podcast…Croatia First. I root for Dinamo and Rijeka and Osijek in Europe. How could you not?
Big win by Genoa and Badelj
Still explains why Dalic still picks him in the Croatian squad
Congratulations on Osijek and Bjelica on a stellar season so far
A strong slavonija means a strong croatia
I like Genoa. Theyre alright to watch. TLN in Canada had that game on
Badelj pass. Where’s Pjaca?

That sucks Iggy, maybe try a VPN.
That tic tac toe with Modric….gold
Geez even a 14 second video clip on Twitter by Bein is geo-blocked for us Aussies.
Good to hear that Kulenović is scoring goals.
.
Another reason why it’s critical to stay in the HNL as long as possible.
.
Gvardiol probably would have wasted the year on the bench at Leipzig if he went right away. Now he could probably play for our senior squad, at least as a reserve.
.
Hopefully Marin can get his career back on track. What an idiot move, going to Monza.
.
Lovro Majer spent many years at Lokosi, right up to his early 20s and the guy is awesome right now. Hopefully Marin does the same thing, and doesn’t start suffering from “Halilović syndrome” where he’s desperate to join a big “name” team asap.

.
What a pass by Modrić.
Spoke too soon, Rijeka with 2 goals at the end to beat Loko. Muric with two PK’s (one being at ’90) and Kulenovic with the game winner also in the 90th. Of course I lost my stream around the 80th minute and thought the game was done hahah
.
@Poglavnik
.
Osijek deserve the title. Between end of last year and then this season, they been the most consistent, best coached team in the league with Dinamo. Would be nice to see Slavonija get a title. Kohorta and their fans deserve it.
Anyone who watched the Salzburg or Lokomotiva games can you tell me how Sucic and Marin played? Sucic subbed out early and Marin came in for the last 20-30 minutes I think.
Halfway through the season and Osijek at the top of the table! Very impressive.
2-1 now. Joj.
Safe to say both Hajduk and Rijeka won’t be in Europe next season…
Oh look, it’s Hajduk North playing against Loko. Down 1-0 to football giants Lokomotiva.
Osijek off the counter, 89 minute Mierez. 2-0 Osijek.
Hoping Rijeka doesn’t shit the bed vs. Loko in a bit.
What did Mujakic did in the Hajduk game to get a red?
Thanks for the link, Armada.
Good job, Kvartuc! Props for setting up the site and providing a great forum for us in the diaspora to discuss our takes on Croatian sports and sports figures. You and your team are doing a great service.
Oh good on u Ante : )
eyyy Kvartuč, nice piece with @CroatiaFooty. Even though your a west coaster and Hajduk navijac (double whammy haha), you and your boys do a nice job of keeping this place going. Cheers to you guys!
