Ivan Perišić supplied the lone assist for Inter Milan Saturday in another disappointing result; drawing Fiorentina 1-1. Perišić left a long, lofty cross in the box that was met by the head of Denzel Dumfries. Inter get the point on home soil but have looked like an absolute shell of themselves without Marcelo Brozović in midfield. With the drop in points and an AC Milan win this weekend, Inter now trail AC Milan by six points for the Serie A lead.
Borna Sosa is an assist machine! Sosa sent in a perfect free kick from the sideline Saturday for Stuttgart’s first goal in a huge 3-2 win over Augsburg. With he win, Stuttgart climb out of the relegation zone with seven matches remaining in the Bundesliga season. Regardless what happens to Stuttgart this season, Sosa will be on a lot of club’s transfer lists this summer at the age of 24.
“Luka Modrić played as a false nine in a 4-0 El Clasico loss to Barcelona Sunday. Apparently, Carlo Ancelotti thinks so little of his strikers, particularly top backup Luka Jovic, that he played Modrić as a false nine. I have no idea why he thought this was even on the list of solutions, and doing this clearly confused the hell out of everyone on Real Madrid.
I don’t even want to give Modrić a rating. What was he supposed to do in this situation? He tried his best to help cover defensively and move the ball forward, but it was such an unfamiliar situation. And it is not like the players behind him were doing a good job of securing the ball or moving things forward so that Modrić could stay in a “striker’s” role.” -per TheRealChamps
Mateo Kovačić got the start for Chelsea and played 69 minutes in a 2-0 FA Cup victory over Middlesbrough. The win puts Chelsea into the semifinal round of the competition. Kova had an average game but “drew the ire of Chelsea’s boss. The Blues had looked comfortable in possession and were recycling up the pitch. The Croatian looked to drive the ball up the pitch as he does so well but he quickly gave it away when not under too much pressure.Tuchel was very much left vexed and made sure the midfielder knew it. He was probably just rested but it wasn’t too much longer before he was being replaced by N’Golo Kante.”
Josip Stanišić provided a solid display in Bayern’s 4-0 victory over Union Berlin. The right-back has proven himself a reliable defender for the German giants, and earned a 7.5 rating from FotMob for the match.
Would love to give this a try..

Luka is playing a false #9 role with Benzema being out in the match with Barca. He looks uncomfortable and completely out of it in that spot.
Majer with an assist today… game was not competitive honestly
Do you guys think majer will move quickly to a bigger league as soon as the summer?
Really hard to say, Majer and Rennes might be in the champions league next year, and depending what psg do this summer, they could be legit title contenders if they run it back… so a step up would be what? A final 8 champions league team? A big team in Spain or Italy would be interesting imo
Yea, best case scenario would be for Rennes to secure that Champions League spot, and hold on to Majer for another season.
He would get exposure in the Champions League and it would drive his price higher. It also gives him another year in France to continue to develop.
Would prefer he goes to Spain or Italy. Wouldn’t want him in England.
Also on that last goal sosa sent in a pretty nice bomb into the box on the free kick
Great to have another good dead ball taker
Sosa bombing passes to budimir and other decent headers like pasalic
We should be ok
And juranovic with good crosses on the right
It’s great to have threats from both sides and of course you can’t leave the middle when you have luka the goal scoring machine playing further up
Its quite impressive how broz is really the luka of the Milan midfield
Does he get another big transfer in his prime now? Where to?
Something tells me we will be alright going forward in Qatar, can we keep the ball out of our goal is the big question
Budimir with a assist and goal today
Surely he is our target man for the World Cup if he keeps up this form!
