Martin Baturina has been nothing short of perfect for Como in January! In his last four Serie A matches, Baturina has 3G/3A. Saturday night in Como, Baturina slammed home a low shot from 24 yards out to beat the keeper and added a silky assist to Douvikas in a 6-0 thumping of Torino. Sorry Vlašić. Baturina did all of this in only 68 minutes on the pitch. He’s very quickly living up to all of his potential in a top-5 league after being benched most of the first half of the season by Fabregas.
Baturina has a total tally of 4G/3A in 14 Serie A matches this season. Let’s see what he does in February.
Igor Matanović has been a goal-scoring machine for Freiburg in 2026! Matanović scored his 3rd Bundesliga goal Sunday night in four January matches. Not to mention his game winner in Europa League Thursday versus Maccabi Tel Aviv. The only blemish on his January docket is a missed penalty vs. Koln that would have earned him a brace. Who will win out spot as Croatia #9 for the World Cup in 5 months?
Luka Vušković received a MOTM honors and a 8.5 SOFAScore rating in Hamburg’s 0-0 draw at St. Pauli Friday night. One tackle won, two interceptions, one blocked shot, 2/2 ground duels won, and 10/12 aerial duels won.
Ante Budimir (above) scored his 9th goal of the La Liga season in a 3-1 Osasuna victory over Rayo Vallecano Saturday. He deflected the ball into the net following a skirmish in the box. Budimir now has 3 goals to his name in January as Osasuna move to 9th position on the La Liga table.
Luka Modrić played the the full 90 minutes in a pivotal Serie A match vs. Roma in the Italian capital Sunday night. The match ended 1-1 which means good things for Inter as they now lead 2nd place AC Milan by five points. Modrić assisted on the lone AC Milan goal following a corner with a perfect cross into the box for De Winter. Modrić received a 7/10 grade from SempreMilan: “Definitely a MOTM shout, given just how hard he works in both phases of the game. At the back, he had many interceptions and in the attack, he was one of the few to actually create something. The cross for De Winter on the goal was lovely.”
Luka Sučić got the start and played 82 minutes in a 3-1 Real Sociedad victory over Celta Vigo. DCC also received the start but picked up a straight red card for Sociedad in the 45′ after VAR intervention.

“English 2nd League”-Watch
Crnac’s Norwich beat #1 Coventry 2-1 today
Massive win for Norwich (3 wins on a row) now 4 pts clear of relegation
Coventry stay on 58 pts, #2 Middlesbrough on 55 pts, while #4 Sergej/Pandur’s Hull 50 pts (with one game in hand)
Prpic not even on bench today
Do they really need Thiago Silva to beat Gil Vicente? lol
Sad
The Polish guy that he’s backing up is very good though. Literally the top rated player every single game for Porto.
Hopefully Porto sells him and Prpic can slide in.
Baturina if he can play like this for HNS , then he can do something. I was super close to the field for Dinamo/Hajduk and that kid can fly but then he plays on national team and he looks like he’s got a “pant load” . Just bloody run, he has it , just has to let loose.
Como is one of the top “pressing” teams in Europe.
Our National Team tends to slow down the play a lot, so maybe that is why he looks good on Como but wasn’t so good for the National Team.
At the same time, Hoffenheim is the the TOP pressing team in Europe. This comes as a surrpise, as Kramaric plays for them (and he’s not really a fast player and is usually blamed for our slow play on the National Team).
But it seems like we could roll out both Krama and Baturina on the field, and play a pressing style would not be an issue.
Again, this is Dalic’s job to review all tape (for Krama at Hoffenheim and Baturina at Como) and get the best out of them.
For those that watched the full Rijeka vs. Belupo match
Can you comment on new U21 RB Teo Barisic debut (came on for entire 2nd half)
Mart? Others?
Also, Dinamo announced Valincic is back to FULL TRAINING so just a matter of time till we see him back proper (God willing there is no set back) – haven’t heard real update on Mono Lisica other than he is training (but full training but training) so maybe couple weeks behind
I see where Matia Barzic has jumped up big time on the Sofifa online platform rating to a “potential” rating of “82”.
Jumped up by 4 points.
I realize these online platforms are not precise, and I understand this one is tied to some kind of gaming. Nonetheless, this site seems to be closely followed by football fans and it provides a very detailed rating for each player. (Only Hajduk and Dinamo players are covered from the HNL).
It is rare to see a player take that kind of jump up (by 4 points). This places him within the 15 top ranked Croatians for potential.
The list (for “potential”) goes:
Gvardiol 88
Vuskovic 87
Modric 84
Durdov 84
Prpic 84
P. Sucic 83
Ivanovic 83
Baturina 83
And so on . .
Barzic is now at 82 along with Kovacic, Stanisic, and Sutalo.
Defender. 21. About 6’3”. Right foot.
He is playing on loan in La Liga 2 for Cultural Leonesa. I realize he is on the Croatia U21 team, but I don’t think he has played much for the U21 squad.
Does anyone have anything to add about this player? Any comments?
Maybe yet another one to put on the radar for Vatreni WC 2030 . . .
That’s a weird mish-mash of a list.
I also don’t understand the methodology. Modric and Durdov are 84 for ‘potential’? As in, future potential?
Anyway, I doubt this list means anything other than it being a tool for agents to pay and promote their players on.
Like…is Barzic even any good at all?
He’s a diaspora Croat from Spain, which is really uncommon and likely helped him because it’s such a unique identity with football culture on both sides.
But his resume is bad (playing entirely in B divisions his whole career, and currently on one of the worst teams in the Segunda division)…and he’s already turning 22.
Meanwhile we have defenders who are several years younger than him, that teams are actually will to pay millions of dollars for (Mlacic, Jakirovic, Kumar, etc.)…but this Barzic guy can’t even score a transfer to a first division club?
He could easily have scored a loan to the HNL, where they could give him exposure and transfer him to a team (like Prpic to Porto)….but I’m not sure if this guy has it.
I think, for 2030, we will have at least one of Prpic, Mlacic, Jakirovic, Kumar, etc…break out.
But we will also still have Gvardiol and Vuskovic as starters, which (to be honest) gives this Barzic character a better shot at playing for Spain than for Croatia, ha ha.
2030 👍
Matanović is starting to break out. Remember that he’s still very young. The penalty he took was poor because of inexperience. However, the goal he scored was exceptional, especially since it was the rebound of a shot he had just assisted. And he drew the penalty handball as well. He also did a lot with his positioning to help his team open up space. The guy can clearly handle a lot of responsibility on the field.
I also think the recent comments from his coach (saying that Matanovic is starting because he’s doing the things he’s supposed to do outside of trying to score) is better news.
I saw him walking on the field here and there (when he played for us) but it sounds like his German coach wants him to press, play defence, and do everything he can on the field (in addition to scoring).
This is what gave us our biggest success (at 2018 World Cup) when we had Perisic, Rebic, Mandzo constantly pressing and tracking back.
I would like to see guys like Matanovic, Ivanovic, Baturina, Sucic, etc all do this, so we can build a talented (yet aggressively pressing) team in the future.
Anonymous recalls Jose saying about a month ago that Franjo’s number #1 attribute is working for the team with his off the ball work both pressing defense so can’t start build up from back and getting back to help FB
@Ante
What is the source of the 60% unemployment rate coming from ?
Official sources peg it at 5-6%
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_unemployment_rate
You missed the youth unemployment rate of 67%.
Thank you for your interest but my wife often discuss what’s happening there.
Still does not excuse the laundering of dirty money from the United States into Kenya.
Here’s the rest of stats you missed. Cheers.
Kenya Unemployment Rate in 2025
General Unemployment Rate
The unemployment rate in Kenya is projected to reach 5.20% by the end of 2025.
This represents a slight decrease from 5.40% in 2024.
Youth Unemployment Rate
Youth unemployment remains a significant issue, with rates expected to be much higher than the national average.
In 2024, youth unemployment was estimated at 67%, affecting those aged 15 to 34.
Ante – the math still doesn’t math
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Kenya
17m people b/w 15-34 (2019 census)
10m people b/w 35-65 (2019 census)
If it was 67% (for folks b/w 15-34) and we assume ZERO percent (for folks 35-65) than the overall unemployment rate would be 42.3%
i.e. (((67%*17m)+(0%*10m))/27m)=42.3%
As such, given the overall unemployment is 5.4%, the 67% sounds WAY OFF
Anonymous follows the math – and the math never lies
Please clarify
Youth Unemployment in Kenya
Current Statistics
Unemployment Rate: Youth aged 15-34 in Kenya,
face an unemployment rate of approximately 67%.
This is significantly higher than the national average.
Population Demographics: About 35% of Kenya’s population falls within the 15-34 age range, which translates to a large number of young people entering the job market each year.
Employment Challenges
Skills Mismatch: Many young individuals lack the necessary skills for available jobs.
Over one million young people enter the labor market annually, often without adequate training or education.
Informal Sector: A large portion of employment is in the informal sector, where job stability and pay are often inadequate.
Only 10% of the workforce is in formal employment.
Initiatives to Address Unemployment
Entrepreneurship Programs: Initiatives like the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) aim to empower youth through entrepreneurship.
This program has helped launch over 86,000 businesses, creating approximately 125,000 jobs.
Training and Support: Organizations like Generation Kenya provide training to young people, achieving an 85% job placement rate for their graduates.
Conclusion: Youth unemployment remains a critical issue in Kenya, with a high percentage of young people struggling to find stable employment. Addressing this challenge requires targeted interventions that focus on skill development and job creation.

Fat Ante bringing out stats. Probably sweating his fat ass off
Matanovic averages a lot of shots on target considering he hardly starts. He’s a tall forward similar to Mandzukic which was an accurate comparison to a previous comment. He’s still finding his place and has rhythm now. He’s 22 and needs to keep this pace up to get a start in June. He is faster and good at sprints. Be a much better selection than anyone else at the moment. He knows how to find space and use his size. No flashy goals but neither Mandzukic (besides the 2017 final vs Real Madrid) by far the best goal ever in CL. Modric has a beauty assist today too with that crisp cross.
Kotarski
Gvardiol
Vuskovic
Stanisic
Jakic
Modric
Vlasic
Sucic
Baturina
Perisic
Matanovic
This lineup could be dynamite if all goes according with a healthy squad and the right chemistry and players molding. Gvardiol and Stanisic won’t miss out.
It’s a good lineup, but Kotarski can’t start for us after all those gaffes in Champions League this year.
Where jaga
Jaga replaces Perišić and we play with two Central Attacking Midfielders (Baturina on the left and Jaga on the right).
Essentially just steal Como’s playbook and play the most attractive football in Europe.
(Also, Vlašić can’t start. I just noticed him in the lineup above)
Think it’s prudent if we wait until mid March (when the squads for the friendlies should be announced i.e. 10 days in advance) and see who has been in form over the course of the ENTIRE season – to have a view
As e.g. it looks like Baturina has turned the corner – but this has to remain his FLOOR going forward and he has to be CONSISTENT – same with Vlasic – same with Igor – same with everyone
There is too much “X scored in the last 3 games” he needs to start in June! Let’s see who’s actually be playing well over the course of MONTHS
Clavicular
What are people’s thought on him from an entertainment perspective (not a political perspective)?

Sorry parents you’re going to actually have to parent your kid and get their ass to school
Or you could be like Zlatan and buy them bikes and make them ride every day no matter the weather (Zlatan was on Bilic pod last week and was fire and Bilic and his elite psych-analysis almost made Zlatan cry – it was a split second – then Zlatan regained character)
Since everyone else is doing it
@iggy – what’s your view on Australia banning social media for kids?
The Government needs to step in because parents are failing? And kids can get around it easily w burners etc
Shouldn’t it be up to parents to parent their kid (not to fry their brains being on screens 10+ hours a day) instead of using phones like baby-sitters for their kids??
Anonymous is of the view that parents should be put in prison if they are de facto abusing their kids (brain doesn’t stop developing until early 20s) by allowing social media excessive exposure ‘screen times
Anonymous doesn’t care about the “well dad all our friends have phones and on Tik Tok” blah blah blah – you’re the parent not their friend
Anonymous is also against sleep-overs but that’s another post for another time
If we are looking for guidance and are true Croatians, let’s see what the popes have said about immigration and other things especially BEFORE Vatican Council II for guidance to give us the peace of soul to keep watching the Cardiac Boys of Zlatko Dalic!
I’m not a fan of the social media ban, cos i dont think its evidence based. There are some harms kids face from social media, but there are also significant benefits, particularly for kids who might be marginalised irl. Say, for example, you’re an autistic kid in a small outback town, having social media connections can be really important to those people.
My understanding is the studies show that kids generally on a 4 to 1 basis get more positive than harm from social media. So, yes, there will always be anecdotes of the girl who died from anorexia thanks to instagram models and the like, but there’s also unstudied positives.
A few years back a guy Jonathan Haidt wrote a book called The Anxious Generation which was total moral panic about social media and kids, and ever since then governments have been using that moral panic as an excuse to harvest data etc. But when ive seen Haidt on podcasts with ACTUAL researchers, they confront him about how all his data is wrong and he has no answers.
So, yeah, im against it because it doesnt seem evidence-based and frankly i worried about all the marginalised kids who will miss out on positive things that could lead them down a dark path. Imagine you are a latin kid in Minnesota right now, using social media to connect could be hugely important to avoid ICE, for example. So yeah i mean by all means go after the companies for their toxic algorithms but outright ban doesnt sit well with me.

Matanovic has now scored in four of his last five games. . . . That is a very good stretch. . . . . Starting to make a statement in a top-5 league.
That header he scored the other day was fantastic. Let’s hope he stays on a roll after a disappointing start.
Can anyone comment on his potential? Does he have the potential to be, say, as good as Mandzukic?
If Dalic was picking the team today, it seems he would he go with Budimir and Matanovic as his strikers . . ..
(Musa is not playing in a top league).
I second this. But Budimir and Perisic should be our subs. Enough dragging the past out. Let the youngsters get a shot. Matanovic and I don’t know who else.
Technically Matanovic is better than Mandzukic, he is quicker and I have seen him score goals with both feet. Mandzukic was a good goal scorer, very good with the headers and much better defensively.
Matanovic is young and still has some way to go but he is progressing in the right direction. Hopefully he can keep scoring and keep his spot in the starting 11.
Dinamo wanted him at the start of the season, but he decided to stay in Bundesliga, so Dinamo went and got Beljo. Initially this looked like a bad career decision because he was stuck to the bench, however thankfully this has turned around in recent weeks.
By the way Matanovic missed a penalty in today’s match.
Marts assessment is sound
Igor’s coach said a month ago the reason he wasn’t playing is bc he didn’t do enough off the ball and defensively
Guess he’s added that if he’s now playing regularly
So he’s doing well, improving but still has room to get better
I remember that first game for the NT when he had like 10 chance Igor was a master of finding space – it seems his conversion rate isn’t great yet – so improve that and defensive/all around play and he should be a good one
Mansukic best quality was his mentality and his wanting to fight and battle (he was crazy in a good way) – haven’t seen that in Igor yet but we need that injected from Mario to Igor then he’ll be lethal
I haven’t been watching Freiburg games, but I hear that Matanovic still squanders a lot of chances.
I did notice today that (on SofaScore) he had a 6.0 rating…which is weirdly low considering he scored a goal.
Nevertheless, he has a nice scoring streak and I hope it continues. He’s 22 years old and has potential to become our starting #9.
It’s true i started it i guess, lol. And the responses were predictable.
Firstly, just regurgitating of whatever JD Vance, Kristi Noem and Trump said “but something something Somali Fraud”. I mean, that is obviously made up bullshit but even if it IS true, what does that have to do with armed gestapo thugs terrorising the US population? I haven’t seen these guys arrest any fraudsters or in fact criminals of any sort, all i see is militarised thugs abusing and murdering US civilians. There are police forces for arresting people, you know?
Secondly – and i knew this would happen – an outpouring of pro-right wing nonsense from all the “big Catholics” on this site. The same people who are oh so religious and love Jesus, and then vote for the rapist, pedo-protecting narcissistic man-child pissbaby who could not POSSIBLY be any further from Jesus’ teachings.
There is a special level of cognitive dissonance for those of you who go on and about Jesus and God and then vote for the exact opposite of everything Jesus taught. We all know if Jesus was in USA today he’d be murdered by ICE or deported to CECOT and all these huge “Catholics” would be cheering it on. Absolutely shameful. I think you guys are actually the worst of the bunch.
Iggy….
It is what it is.
Americans voted for purging illegal immigrants, and now it’s happening. When removing this many people, there is going to be negligence, injuries and death with an operation this big. Unfortunately, this was a powder keg waiting to happen for many years and it never should have been allowed to get this bad.
Left leaning voters had zero issues keeping the border wide open (allowing unvetted people to enter freely) and they were fine with potential voter fraud as well (because it benefitted them politically). Now, they are screaming murder…not because they actually care about poor Alex Pretti’s murder, but because they see this as an opportunity to swing power back to their side (especially in these upcoming midterm elections).
Obama conducted a similar widespread operation (with ICE detaining roughly 350,000 people per year over his 8 years in power) and it resulted in 56 people dying in ICE detention facilities during those years.
When you decide to conduct such a widescale operation like this, there will for sure be deaths. People are stupid, untrained, and someone will always make a mistake. Nobody deserves to die, but this is what’s going to happen.
Now, the World has become so disgustingly partisan where you have left wing and right wing cheering on the deaths of people like Charlie Kirk and Renee Good.
I’m not going to bother posting anything political again on this board.
Hopefully Ante just immediately deletes anything non-Cro Sports related from now on.
Maminjo you’re being a hypocrite you’ve posted many times on non sporting issues and now you want them banned because people are disgusted in the American political landscape.
How many times have you insulted Canada and now you’re offended that people are piling on Trump ?
Glass houses and rocks come to mind!
Nothing wrong with making fun of Canada in jest.
Also, I’m not offended people are piling on Trump. Pile away.
I’m just responding to Iggy hijacking the comments with his random political rants, insulting Croats while pretending to be one.
Sit down Maminga
You’ve embarrassed yourself enough today
Can always count on you to equivocate and justify everything the establishment does 100% Maminjo. Would it be so hard to say Alex Pretti shouldnt have been executed?
There’s so much wrong with your comment that i’ll be glad if you do indeed stick to not commenting on politics from now on because your abject ignorance on this topic contributes nothing. On the one hand you say we had open borders under dems and then also “but Obama deported more ppl!”. Well, which is it?
And there’s another point i want to make which you seem oblivious too; even if we take at your word the comment about, look, there are untrained dumb ICE officers who are Proud Boys and they are gonna make some mistakes, panic and shoot ppl for no reason. Okay. Fine. But then do they need to be secreted away and face no accountability? Does the regime (Vance, Noem et al) need to come out and immediately call the innocent party a domestic terrorist, slander them, say they deserved it and that ICE were acting defensively? What other American administration in history would act this way? It’s the reaction that is arguably as bad as the killing. To not call out this administration right now says everything about you as a person. You choose to emphasise the things you do in this moment.
As for asking for these posts to be deleted, super hypocritical. Everyone on this board is happy to talk politics if it’s Russia or Saudi Arabia, but suddenly this is too close to home? This is a World Cup year and im seeing multiple threads on boycotting the World Cup because America has become a third-world shithole and looks like Fallujah now, how is that not relevant?
I laughed when Trump whined about “why cant we get Danes and Norwegians immigrating rather than Somalis from their shithole country?” I can answer that, Don – the answer is no one from a social democratic country with free health care and education wants to move to a third-world shithole like USA. Your country is the shithole in this comparison. Well done to making USA the most hated and shittiest country on the planet in barely a year. Enough winning bigly yet?
Iggy,
RE: your comment…
“Would it be so hard to say Alex Pretti shouldnt have been executed?”
Didn’t you read my post? I referred to it as a murder. I also said that nobody deserves to die.
RE: your comment…
“one hand you say we had open borders under dems and then also..but Obama deported more ppl!”
Yes we had open borders, but it was under Biden (not Obama).
My comment about the deportations under the Obama years wasn’t some argument of who deported more between Democrats and Republicans. It was just me using data to show that people die whenever you run a large operation to deport millions of people (which both Obama and Trump are doing).
Honestly, your mind is so poisoned from partisan politics that you can’t even comprehend what someone is telling you.
You really need to get off the Internet and see a psychiatrist.
Maminga, straight out of mom’s basement kicking butt
Lookout
You are a fake Croatian especially as you don’t live in the USA. Stay down under as you are one big shame to Croatians worldwide talking about Catholics the way you did. Start your own site and spew your BS somewhere else. If I want to read stuff like your stuff, I will go to CNN.
Does Croatian sports.com has ICE because y’all need to get removed from this site man
Are those those fat fucks who hide their faces?
Looking forward to it.
P.S. How’s the fight against MS-13 going?
Oh ya too chicken shit to go after real gang members but instead let’s go after nannies and fruit pickers. GTFOH
Well, according to right leaning news outlets, about 70% of people being detained have criminal records. A lot of it being sexual assault.
According to left leaning news outlets, the number is 47%.
They have been arresting MS-13 and Tren de Aragua members. Not sure what the stats are on those, but I’m sure ChatGPT could pull some out.
You need to chill out and watch some cardiac WC Croatian games from ‘18 or ‘22. Viva Zlatko!
It’s refreshing to see our young bucks getting notice and starting to play up to their potential. Baturina is on a mid level club improving and should seek a transfer. Serie A is lacking in talent.
Baturina, Jakic, Vušković, Erlic, Matanovic, Ivanovic all need to get out because aren’t getting many minutes nor starts. They are scoring when they get opportunities to play. However, some are on lower end clubs and don’t get much starts.
Sucic: Needs to get a transfer
Vlasic has cooled down and been quiet the last few weeks. Pasalic as well is slowing down and not getting starts.
We don’t have much active players showing talent in the champions league. Seeing Sucic get a goal against a top team like Arsenal was beautiful. Also we don’t have many defence displaying any talent besides Vušković. Caleta-Car and Pongracic are so so and Sutalo has been terrible all season. Erlic is reliable. Jakic is injury prone. Any updates with Livakovic? Are we all accepting he ain’t playing until March?
We have a lot of very young defenders, but a little too young for this tournament. Vuskovic, however, is good and we need to start him in the March friendlies.
It’s great to see this sudden surge in quality young midfielders and forwards.
Baturina, Petar Sucic, Jagusic, Matanovic are all playing great. Just need Ivanovic to start cooking too.
L.Sucic with the start and D-cc. D-CC ref card first half.
Iggy started it.
Hey fat Ante, what are you 12?
Waaaa he started it. Grow up you sick fuck
Matanovic goal 44’ now HT
Wedding Boy starts – maybe seeing Baturina do so well- will give him the motivation/kick in the butt to do well himself?

P.S. England-watch Jarrod Bowen goal+assist yesterday for West Ham
CC @Maminjo
@Vlad
From your list of keepers: Liva, Kotarski, Ivusic
Liva – still no club – looks like the Turks are screwing Croatia by shelving their #1
Kotarski – guilty, till proven innocent – he needs to put together a string of consistent performances with minimal mistakes (being too aggressive or poor decision making) – Mrmic told SN he didn’t like what he did for Napoli goal
Ivusic – lingering pubic bone issues (from NT hotel three-way duties with Dalic & Musa) – so not looking good – he was too hot/cold anyways to be a shoe-in
x.com/TheCroatian_/status/2014375429830746591
Semper – lost his #1 and was benched for two games (now out injured with an inflamed knee) – imo he’s been a “2nd league” or below keeper his whole career so not sure why people think he’s a shoe in (and Pisa will go back down)
Meanwhile
Pink Pandur made three nice saves yesterday (on the goal Pandur was fouled by the Swansea player no clue how it counted) and Hull tied for #3 in the “English 2nd league” 😉
***.skysports.com/football/video/36399/13498475/hull-city-2-1-swansea-city-championship-highlights
To be honest I don’t put a lot of thought into the keeper position cause I truly think Dalic won’t call anyone else. Like I think Ivusic sucks and shouldn’t be called but unless he’s injured or not playing he will.
Kotarski same, I don’t know what’s going on with Livi I thought he would be sold by now but if he does get sold and plays he will be starter. If not the I guess dalic will have a decision to make. But by no means am I a huge fan of Livi I just can’t so who I would bench him for.
Semper and pandur I haven’t watched in a long time do I think Pamdur should get a chance in march for sure. If he is playing well and on a team that is on the verge of being promoted that’s is a good sign.
The list the other day is a mix of what I think Dalic would do and who should be there.
Šemper is a good keeper but has obviously been having an injury issue (these are often signaled by a drop in performance first). When he recovers, he will likely be a starter again because of how bad Scuffet is. But yes, Pandur should be considered for the repka ahead of Ivušić who is injured anyway
Moderator, I feel threatened
Croatia is loaded with CB prospects.
On top of already having Gvardiol and Vušković.
We have Prpić at Porto, Jakirović and Mlačić at Inter Milan, and Mijatović and Puljić are the starting tandem at Bayern’s U19 team.
I’m watching Istra vs Hajduk, and 17 year-old Raul Kumar (one of the stars of our U17 team) is starting and playing very well in a hostile Poljud.
Hostile?
Place is more than half empty.
I think they announced attendance at 11,000 something?
Everyone on this site talks in WWE Michael Cole hyperbole voice.
Still loud and hostile, especially during that VAR review on that Hajduk goal.
Now Istra need to hold on for the win.
Great experience for a 17 year old kid.
“Still loud and hostile”. lol 11000 people.
Amazing the crap people say on her.
Yes, so amazing (SMH).
Try watching the games, then comment.
You missed 2 more CBs at Bayern (training camp for Bayern II in the US)
x.com/BayernLuxNews/status/2010645697251385502
Roko Mijatović (Croatia U17) – missed 1st half with knee injury
Raphael Pavlić (Germany U17 for now) – being promoted to Bayern U23 (guess that’s the same as Bayern II) for the rest of the season [of course the German international gets priority over the Croatia international – hopefully Raphael is keeping his true intentions close to his chest]
Kumar apparently on many teams radar – he CB partnered Jakirovic at the U17 WC

Mea culpa – you mentioned Mijatovic
There is still Pavlic there too (I think they have more at the 15 age bracket too coming up)
2034 Tentative Starting XI with be 10 CBs (1/2 being German diaspora) – which will be the yang to the current ying i.e. 10 AM/#10s
Only one is German diaspora (Mijatović) and just barely, because he was only born there because his dad (Andrija) played there and they only stayed because his dad was offered a job afterwards.
None of the others are diaspora. Maybe you thought Puljić was (because he plays for Bayern) but he’s born and raised in Croatia.
Lol if the Somalis have defrauded the US to the tune of 9 billion dollars (which I’ve seen no evidence to support and which I’m sure is just another trump outright lie) then get the FBI to arrest the big people behind that fraud. Why go around detaining 5 year old Hispanic kids. It’s absolute nonsense. Be serious
They were arresting his father who was an illegal and the father fled and abandoned the child. What were they supposed to do let him freeze outside? Be accurate with your reporting
You can dislike Trump AND by be critical of Somali fraudsters.
It doesn’t have to be one or the other.
But let’s not turn this into a politics thread.
What part of my wife being from Kenya and how the Kenyans were being taken over by rich Somali money do you not understand?
How does a 3rd world nation come up with the business acumen to take over Nairobi and destroy the locals?
Stop with the Trump Derangement Syndrome it’s as the kids say today so CRINGE.
@ante, you’re so close to having it figured. It’s just that last bit of loyalty to your identity which is stopping you fully grasping it. Yes both sides of the party political divide have the same capitalist/imperialist agenda. But fascism (as we are seeing now with trump and his vigilante mob ICE) is by far the worst side of the coin. Real Christian values are based on the teachings of Jesus. Renee good was not trying to avoid arrest, nor did she weaponise her car. She was driving away from the scene as she was entirely entitled to do as she was not under arrest. You got to let it go. These are bad people. You’ve all been so so wrong for so much of your lives. Because you have grown up with a false identity set. White, catholic, American, Croat, possibly forced out of homeland due to association with ustasha. None of that makes sense. The world view so many have bought into is completely bogus. I’m sorry it hurts. But reality trumps myths. Trump is a paedophile and a performing monkey for the real power brokers. Those of us who ever believed a word trump said let this be a lesson. It’s over guys. Wake up and smell the coffee. And no I don’t support the democrats. There is no white replacement agenda. Christians are not the good guys. Adam smith is a joke. Society does not need to mirror the worst impulses of the animal food chain. Freedom is possible. Dignity and peace are possible. Biden, trump, putin, all of them are very bad actors in a global mafia system. Libertarianism is a joke. It’s anti state but pro business. Business runs the state already. So it doesn’t make sense.
Dude,c’mon, how did Omar go from bein one of the poorest congressional person to 30 million ahead in one year y’all need to stop watching CNN maybe y’all should watch the Croatia / Brazil game in 2022 and get refocused man
My point is on the return of Jesus.
You have failed to understand that. As well you are not educated on all the facts which is why you’re reacting in such a matter.
You want mention Renee who was filmed blocking the road with intention while honking her horn like lunatic.
She was mother of three children in a Lesbian relationship where they would just film themselves agitating ICE agents.
If ICE is truly benevolent or malevolent, I don’t know but what I do know is Christian’s do not put themselves in opposition of authority unless it goes against God’s word.
Her Father who is a God fearing man, even said if she was properly following the Word she wouldn’t have been needlessly killed but sadly was duped into fake activism, that bases everything on emotions with zero facts.
One thing is for sure Solomon stated that there’s nothing new under the sun that history repeats itself.
So that’s where I put my faith, not in politics, governments or even Football but God alone.
God Bless and have a great day.
@Iggy
Are you aware that the Somalis in Minnesota have scammed the United States population an estimated 9 Billion, only to take that stolen money and reinvest it in Nairobi Kenya?
In turn taking over Nairobi and destroying all business’s of natural born citizens?
Erecting massive buildings and taking over whole neighbourhoods as Kenyans struggle with an already 60% unemployment rate?
How do I know this, my wife is Kenyan.
You need stop watching the echo chamber of left wing politics. My suggestion is to stick to Football and the Bible, can’t go wrong.
@Iggy
Note, this is not a rant against the American population or other countries, we are all victims of the Elite Class who have their own Satanic agendas.
My goal is to shed light and help others from the trap of politics.
That being said, do you want to play the political right versus left game?
Since WW2 the states and its allies has been involved in world regime change via war or proxy.
50’s Truman (Democrat) Korea,
60-70’s Eisenhower. (Republican), Kennedy (Dem), Johnson (Dem), Nixon (Rep) Vietnam.
80’s Reagan (Rep) Iraq/Iran war.
80’s Reagan (Rep) Afghanistan and Central/South America.
90’s Bush Sr (Rep)Iraq Desert Storm 1.
90’s Clinton (Dem) Yugoslavia, Somalia and Haiti
2000 Bush Jr (Rep)Desert Storm 2, weapons of mass destruction, which I was involved in two tours.
2011Obama (Dem) destroying Libya killing Gaddafi who only wanted Africans to benefit from their own natural resources.
2014 Obama (Dem) Political que in Ukraine destabilizing the government.
2020 Biden (Dem) Funding the destruction of Ukraine via proxy war with Russia.
2024 Trump (Rep) Continuing the funding of the Proxy war in the disguise of peace.
As you can see through learning and researching history there is no right or left but two sides of the same coin.
Both parties have the same agendas, regime change if any country dares to be against western liberal values or its momentary system.
Either your country will be destroyed via military might or through economic sanctions.
Now your argument of Renee being killed by ICE. If you know the rules of engagement as police officer then you’re aware any threat that perceived to cause grievous bodily harm or death can result in deadly force.
When you plow your car into another human, to evade arrest who’ happens to be an officer of the law, there will be consequences.
No one on the right was celebrating her death like those who were dancing over the grave of a dedicated Christian named Charlie Kirk.
Lastly, the most fascist countries right now have been England, Australia and Canada.
England making it illegal for Christians to pray against abortion clinics, Australia and Canada drawing up laws to call the Bible a hate book are just to a few things to consider.
As Croatian Catholics we are called to neither be right wing or left but stewards of the word of God.
Iggy I suggest you read your Bible and draw closer to the God Almighty, Judgment will be across the whole globe.
Anyone following ideologies and countries who constantly go against his written word will be obliterated during the 7 year Tribulation.
Matthew 24:
The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times
1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.
2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house.
18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.
21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.
24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.
31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door.
34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
The Day and Hour Unknown
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.
41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?
46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’
49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.
50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.
51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Can someone explain why sutalo gets zero playing time this year? He honestly had such a good season last year with Ajax… what’s going on now
He had a fantastic season last year. One of two best players for Ajax and a top Eredivisie defender. Ajax fans were praying he would not transfer to a bigger club in a top five league. He was stellar.
Then the coaching change. That was probably a factor, looking back.
There was a bit of injury trouble to start the season . . and it has gone off the rails, not playing much now.
Hard to say exactly why this happens. But it has.
How does he get this turned around? We need it turned around quickly. A transfer seems to be necessary . . . I can’t think of anything else that would help turn this around.
Another one is Luka Sucic. Just a short time ago, he was THE FUTURE. Now he is going through a very tough season, and he too had such a good season last year. . . .
Hope they can both get back on track soon.
Luka Sučić, Petar Sučić and Martin Baturina weren’t the future…but even if we get two out of three that’s great.
There is always some new phenom that comes up the ranks every 18 months (Jagušić for example), so if you don’t progress, too bad, someone else will take your place.
I think Luka Sučić still has a shot to get his career back on track, but I’m also a big Jaga fan so I don’t really care anymore. You snooze you lose.
Typo in the first sentence. I meant to say they “were” the future.
All the talk about the world cup, meanwhile USA descending into a third-world shithole run by a fascist dictator. I mean who actually wants to visit such a shitty third-world country and risk the gestapo being set on them? Honestly it’s worse than Qatar, Russia or Saudi Arabia as hosts; absolutely horrible banana-republic.
When you grow up and learn the truth that the Democrats and Republicans are on the exact same Satanic team then you won’t get sucked into the propaganda garbage.
At least there won’t be any tranny’s on the team, sadly Russia who promotes traditional families is excluded for the proxy war that Europe and the United States have been having.
In all honesty the United States and Canada are all under judgement by God for their ungodly values and will reap what they sow.
Cheers.
Iggy, you need to grow up if you think the US is in any way shape or form worse than Russia, Qatar, or Saudi Arabia.
The World Cup will be a great tournament, just as it was in Qatar and Russia. I hope you guys all go to the ol’ USA and leave the politics behind.
In terms of how far the USA has fallen, it’s way worse than those places. It’s actually an achievement how far the cuntry has gone in just one year. Feeling GREAT again yet, America, now that there’s masked thugs murdering US citizens on the streets for the grand crime of… *checks notes* attempting to help a woman being pepper-sprayed in the face for first amendment rights.
Now, look, the politics of EVERYONE on this board are very clear, i know im amongst MAGA here, so i dont expect anyone to shed an iota of compassion over the murder of Renee Good or Alex Pretti. I realise people on the right are completely incapable of caring about anyone who isn’t MAGA and will justify anything Trump does. But if you think anyone who has a slightly ethnic name or appearance feels comfortable travelling to USA for a world cup, you’re kidding yourself. It’s definitely not somewhere i’ll be visiting again in the foreseeable future and that’s surely a pretty widely-held view atm.
The WC in 1994 held in USA was one of the best ever apart from the Final between Brazil and Italy which went to a penalty shoot-out after ending 0 – 0 AET.
I’m not so sure about this WC ? There is talk of countries boycotting (unlikely to happen) not to mention fans on social media calling on fans world-wide to stay away.
They have banned 75 countries from applying for visiting visas to USA and 15 of those countries are participating at the World Cup including Brazil and Uruguay. As Iggy writes if you have a dark complexation and ethnic name you could be arrested at the stadium and taken to jail while they check you out.
FIFA needs to sort this out ASAP, and if the ban is not lifted, I would give more matches to Canada and Mexico and also see if some South American countries like Brazil and Argentina could host some matches. If this is not possible at short notice, I would delay the WC by a year as was the case with the EURO and Olympics when we had COVID.
These US citizens who interfere with law enforcement officials whether they like it or not, ask for these consequences. Unfortunately, we have let people into our country without following the laws of immigration and now our officials are trying to right that problem. As an American, I can tell you that if you visit America during the WC and act respectfully and have your passport, you won’t have a problem with law enforcement. I can’t wait to see Coach Dalic and his boys represent Croatia here in the USA.
Let’s hope ma French brothers get treated better here than in split last year when racism epitaph were hurled along with fire works. It was a scene not be get re visited man
There is a greater power pulling the strings that’s based in the Middle East.
They groomed big sloppy orange to be put in place as the leader of the “FREE WORLD!”once they had enough dirt on him from Gilligans island.
That certain power loses its influence over Donnie if the files were ever released..they will never be released in it’s entirety due to the fact that IZ RAY AL will lose its leverage on influencing foreign policy.AIPAC runs good ole MERIKA lining the pockets of 99%every congressman and senators. They are the only foreign country that doesn’t have to register for political influence or donations in the U.S.ASK yourself WHY?
Let’s all be honest when we heard he was running for president we all thought it was an April fools joke admit it ?
These anti ice protests are really when y’all come down to it are anti white anti American and anti religious protests man
These anti ice protests is just what Tim walz omar and the Somalians ordered because it deflects from the 9 billion fraud case against those low life folks man
I happened to catch the Lazio match just now and was impressed even more this time by Bašić’s play. I can’t recall a single poor touch or misplaced pass by him in the whole match, and he ran the most of any Lazio player and played the whole 96 minutes. Without Guendouzi, Lazio is not the same team and is now unlikely to compete for european play next year, but it’s good to see Maurizio Sarri entrust the responsibility of anchoring his midfield to a Croatian and even better to see him play so well. Bašić will probably have to be a standby guy given we have Moro and Kovačić to play the same position, but if there are more injury problems, he’ll be up to the task
Good to hear
Twin tower Ivisic brothers playing at 3 in college hoops if you’re bored.
Play like a bust baturina
Remember guys let’s take it day by day but don’t be cynical Croats and toss out a guy who has shown quality many times before
Luka was 27 when labeled bust signing
I’m not Saying he’s gonna be luka but let’s chill
New team, new coach
Yeah there is this realization it’s not gonna be easy as it was for him in Croatia
Now is when the growth comes
He is talented and if the work rate continues….
Keep it up sine
Lots of people also didn’t have faith in Vušković being part of the senior team so early too.
Baturina, Vušković and even Jagušić should all be in the conversation to START.
Jagusic scored again today against Rijeka. Looks like he played well, had a big game. 8.1 rating on Sofascore.
Did anyone see the game? Any scouting report?
Nice assist as well for Baturina. He plays on the left wing but you see him in the center a lot.
What a turnaround from Baturina. From not being called up to looking untouchable in the starting XI
Is Baturina our new left winger? The guy is on fire on that flank!
Como I believe play with two Central Attacking midfielders (with him more on that left side).
Hoping Dalić is watching every Como game to see how he can get the most out of Baturina.
He’s becoming too good to ignore.
2-0 at halftime, Como up on Torino.
Baturina’s goal showed some great skill, beat the goalie cleanly with a low shot to the corner.
In that first half, Baturina also set up Jesus Rodriguez for a glorious scoring opportunity, and Rodriguez missed the net. All he had to do was hit the net. Baturina also should have had an assist.
I would say Baturina has been Como’s best player, even outplaying Paz.
Vlasic has been relatively quiet.
According to many online metrics, Baturina is better than Paz.
Either way, this sets up both Baturiba and Como Nicole for life without Paz next season (after Paz’s small buyback clause is triggered by Real).
Baturina!!
Scores again. . . .
Osasuna posted a vid all of Budimir’s goals
x.com/osasuna_en/status/2014762094424461549
But we have a problem
Anonymous noticed Budimir doing the ball under the shirt pregnant celebration and didn’t realize he has kids – so apparently he has at least two sons
Here’s a picture of Budimir at WC 2022 in Qatar with his two sons (his younger son is the smaller ginger haired one)
https://www.imago-images.de/sp/1020481968
What we see in this picture is 1000x worse than Wedding Boy leaving for his sister’s wedding – Anonymous is SHOCKED that Dalic has allowed this – and not kicked Budimir off the team permanently just for what’s in this picture alone
And folks wonder why so many kids are screwed up these days….
Even Budimir knew it was terrible
As soon as he realized he was being paparazzi’d he try to fix it
***.imago-images.de/sp/1020481978
But it’s too late Budimir – we know the truth – you clearly don’t spend any time with your sons (when the cameras aren’t there) as they are trying to get back to their “real parent” the whole time in your arms
***.imago-images.de/sp/1020481986
And there’s two of them LMAO
***.imago-images.de/sp/1020481987
Once again – folks wonder why so many kids are screwed up these days….
“Vuskovic can only play in a back 5”
He played in a back 4 yesterday (the whole game from the start) – it’s not the first time either – in at least 2 other games Anonymous remembers that HSV flipped mid-game from a back 5 to back 4 change of tactics
Of course to know this – you would actually have to watch the games – not watch short compilations or clips of goals
Mark Goldbridge watched Luka vs. St Pauli yesterday (he is the #1 Man U fan channel guy)
His opinion ?
“Vuskovic looks like a proper player.”
https://x.com/markgoldbridge/status/2014790561610240093
This is coming from a Mr. Man U
Yet
Many on this site are still debating whether Luka should even get a chance to appear in the March friendlies lol
Remember Luka still has another 1440 minutes (16 games club games) to work out the kinks and improve b/w now and the World Cup (Anonymous doesn’t care about 2026 – they are thinking ahead/focused on 2030 that’s when Croatia will have an excellent shot – please refer to Anonymous’ tentative 2030 starting XI with age profiles)
Stop evaluating him statically based on today (at a fixed moment of time) but rather try to project how he will be after another 1440 minutes under his belt
Without Josko it’s unlikely Croatia go far in 2026 – so might as well get Luka proper experience at the highest level (even if it ends up being like Croatia Euro 2008 vs. Turkey) as will serve Croatia for 2030
I can’t recall anyone on this site saying Vuskovic should not be selected for the friendlies.
I think earlier in the season (before the season began) many here were saying they would be thrilled if he could even get minutes off the bench at HSV and how that would be a significant step (since Bundesliga is a much better league than Belgium). They didn’t think he was actually ready for a senior team callup.
Some of us were hard headed and wanted Vuskovic to be called up to the senior team since his days at Westerlo, and not just a callup…but given at least some significant minutes off the bench. So there was a bit of a gap in expectations from people here.
Oh… re: March friendlies.
I think at that point everyone here (except maybe Vlad) has been on board with Vuskovic AT LEAST getting minutes in the March friendlies.
Fun facts
Vuskovic now has 16 MOTM awards in his career
By comparison, Romero (27.75 y/o) has 12 and Van de Ven (24.75 y/o) has 5
How many MOTM does Sutalo+Duje+Pongracic+Erlic have combined?
Vuskovic was also player of the match on FOTMOB.
We could not have hoped for a better season so far for him.
We clearly have four defenders who, IF healthy and playing well, are in a class above, and it is reflected in their market/transfer value: Vuskovic, Stanisic, Gvardiol, and Sutalo.
Admittedly two are hurt (Gvardiol, Stanisic), one is having an unexpectedly poor season so far (Sutalo), and one is a teenager, untested at the WC level (Vuskovic).
But IF they are healthy and close to good form, I don’t think Dalic has much of a choice as to the four starting defenders at WC. It is pretty straightforward.
A Croatian boy can dream of such a back 4 in form
With luka still pulling the strings
Anything could happen
