In Wednesday’s second leg Copa del Rey quarterfinal match between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, Atletico’s Arda Turan threw his cleat at the linesman in frustration with his side down a man and trailing 3-2. What’s more shocking than him actually throwing his show is that he only received a yellow card for the offense.
What’s up with that?
Barcelona won 4-2 on aggregate. They will face Villareal in the semifinals. Mario Mandžukić did not play in this match.
I guess I’ll have to find a ‘war crimes’ site to read about soccer..!! Croatian Sports.com is obviously the wrong place for it.
I sympathize with those that lost loved one’s…but I’ll bet none of you loudmouths have..!! So grow up…talk about soccer not fucking politics.

I thought Vukovar was in Slovenia? I’m just all types of confused today!!!!
i remember meeting ziva back at a cro gather in cleaveland a couple years back. it’s kind of funny, he’s not nearly as negative or outlandish in person as he is on the internet
i think the internet gives him his escape where he can be someone he can’t normally be in real life
@soul champ
bang on soul champ, he has his agenda……
@ Ziva misogynistic
As Hrvatska RISES out of deep corners of its basement unconscious, WOMEN will be a part of the movement. It is inevitable, like MANdzukic scoring goals where ever he plays!
Talk about twisting shit to fit your narrative ?
I see you will need a more BASE level seminar this summer to cure soul stunted complex.

Good one…..will forward Croatia. Hrvatski Sarah Palin is the product of partizan blood.wW
@bolan
Vukovar and Srebrenica were both brutal and were probably the two worst atrocities in the war.
Sarajevo being ‘snipered’ for four years straight (solely targeting civilians, and killing 11,000 of them) has to be up on the list and can only be considered as a blatant terrorist act, breaking the Stalingrad record as the city being under siege the longest in history.
The shelling of Dubrovnik with the intent to destroy and send that historic city into the ground makes this ‘top 4’ list as well.
The fact that they are trying to equate these atrocities above to the actions that occurred after Operation Storm (where there were only about a couple hundred civilian deaths) is remarkable.
nothing wrong with that MILF fetish
Ziva, both of your above comments are spot on. The international community is bull shit. They’re the ones that allowed it to happen and now they think people can forget and forgive.
And I personally think Vukovar was worse ten Srebrenica. In Stebrenica Muslims slaughtered Serbs enforce the Serbs returned it to them. Vukovar only defended herself.
Spent many summers with refugees from Vukovar who were staying along Pećine in Rijeka. The best Hrvati I have ever met before or since.
Europa je kurvat !
We are right now dealing with pravoslav infiltration into Croatian life.
We need to move with intelligence during these dark times.
Kolinda is cosmopolitan and will support a foreign policy agenda that forwards Croatia. Despite some here who have a MILF fetish she is NOT Sarah Palin!
Personally, we should have known this was coming after that photo of Ivanisevic with the serb female.
On a serious note…….did anyone really think this was going to be a favorable ruling. How many of you guys follow geopolitics in the Balkans? To me, this is no surprise. The goal of the international community has been to remove any sense of blame from the war.
The bullshit reasoning: because Serbia wasn’t recognized until ’92, all atrocities (Vukovar and Skabrnja) or genocide can’t be blamed on the country itself.
The reason we can’t say anything is because we’re still speechless.
@bolan
I read about it this morning around 7:00 am eastern time and actually was going to post the link to the report but was sick to my stomach with the decision and decided not to. I actually figured it would come down to this. The Hague is sranje.
@Slavonac
Those people of Vukovar and Croatia deserved better.
So… It’s hard to charge Serbia with Genocide in Srebrenica as the act was committed by Bosnian Serb army, and not by the Serbian army.
I guess Vukovar was destroyed, technically, by the Serb-led Yugoslav army… So I guess that’s the logic? I dunno.
I guess what the EU doesn’t want to do is have a poor state like Serbia go further rogue by labelling the nation as a war criminal state. They’d just go in the direction Greece is going and we’d have two Cuba-type countries in South East Europe (ripe for Russia).
Dont forget the torture and executions at the hospital.
It was my understanding after reading the report that it was deemed genocide, however they didn’t put the blame of the genocide on the governments, more so the individuals that led it.
@Bolan…… come on this is the diaspora hrvati we are talking about it. That shit doesn’t register on most radars. Half the diaspora couldn’t pinpoint Vukovar on a map.
I’m surprised the atrocities in Vukovar were not called genocide.
Milosevic self admitted that over 30,000 JNA and Serb militia along with over 100 tanks and air force, ponded Vukovar for 6 months….while the civilians and few military that were defending had little weapons to do so…..my cousin died there….it was tragic and I suggest some of you to learn of the assault those people took…clear genocide!
few buildings left barely standing, all life was dead and burned…what a tragic event and a tragic outcome to this case!
If Srebrenica was deemed to not be a Genocide in that war, then nothing will.
In Srebrenica, they literally took all the men and boys in the town onto buses and shipped them off for slaughter. The last time that happened, everyone called it the Holocaust.
This judgement was always going to be a strategic one that focused on making future generations forget, and move on. They teach some of us to never forget… Then they teach some of us to forgive and forget, lol.
Half the day has nearly passed, and yet no comments about the dismissal of Genocide claim Cro had against Serbia for Vukovar????
But God forbid, Goran Ivanisevic takes a picture with a Serb and the site goes ape shit.
remember when the Iraqi guy threw his shoes at George Bush? it’s a common insult in muslim world to throw ones shoe right?
still crazy
You’d think after a stunt like that Turan was a “shoe-in” for a red card.
But I think the officials decided to be merciful since Athletico were down a man and basically out of the tie on aggregate.
