20 year-old CSKA Moscow midfielder Nikola Vlašić scored the lone goal of the match in a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League Tuesday night. Vlašić hustled to get to the ball in the second minute following a poor Real Madrid back pass in their own end and lost Varane to slot home inside the right post.
In arguably the biggest match of his young career, Vlašić showed up in front of his home CSKA Moscow fans to beat the reigning Champions League holders. Luka Modrić came off the bench in the 58th minute as Real Madrid struggle to score with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Vlašić is currently on loan from Everton, where he was under-utilized last season in England.
Vlašić Goal
In other news around Champions League Tuesday night, Andrej Kramarić came off the bench in the 54th minute for Hoffenheim in a 2-1 loss to Manchester City. New Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovač led his side to a 1-1 draw against Ajax. Mario Mandžukić started and played 78 minutes for Juventus in a 3-0 thumping of Young Boys.
Croatia does have a Kroos.
His name is Ivan Rakitic.
Gotta love Truth’s sarcastic posts on topics such as these. I really think “over the top”, fake leftist twitter accounts are hilarious. You need to embrace twitter Truth!
@ Maminjo
Ante Rebić has speed.
Quick agile feet is what you mean by “foot speed?”
Modrić has quick agile feet.
Kovačić has the full package along with Perišić and a healthy Pjaca.
It seems all Spanish players for Spain have quick agile feet.
I feel you can train agile feet but not speed so much.
Mandžukić has a whole different athletic make up that seems to allow him to contort his body in mid air to finish goal scoring chances.
Rakitic has power in his game as well.
What a goal today!!
@Ivo and Truth – I know we’re way off the sports topic here with homosexual talk but – yes it is a defect. Ivo I agree with you. Why? Because two dicks can’t make a baby and neither can two vaginas. Talk to mother nature and biology, not my rules.
Also (and please correct me if I am wrong) but most religions don’t agree with it (not to say that’s the be all and end all) so we know religions take on homosexuality.
Now for science/evolution folks- IF you think we came from animals (primates etc etc) there is 0.000001% of animals that have sex with the same gender and it’s usually based off of confusion or curiostiy and it doesn’t occur again. Something like zebras, dolphins, I am probably wrong about the animal but I do know its leas than 1%
Homosexuals existed in ancient Greece, Rome, etc so it’s not new BUT rather than treat it as a debilitation of some sort western society promotes it. Why? Break down the family structue. Cultural marxism.
A family is the strongest organization in the world. Break down a family and people are easier to control.
Put it this way – if the whole world were gay, human civilization would end. You can’t procreate naturally. We would stop making people naturally.
Sorry that’s my rant.
@ ivo
Science has shown that a wide spectrum of sexualities id’s not a defect and actually enhances the competitiveness of a species for survival.
For example, there are theories that homosexual genes could also be linked to those that help us relate and cooperate with other. In addition, sometimes it’s better if not every male of a species for example is competing for a limited pool of females and can instead put their efforts elsewhere. Or, in many cultures for sometime you would have a dominant male with several wives in which case it could’ve helped harmony for females to be able to have some attraction to each other. There is an evolutionary reason why homosexuality has continued in the gene pool over time and amongst species
This is why Vlašić being big and strong is important. Not fast, but can still jump on the wing or push forward and attack.
Rebić also lacks footspeed, yet he’s an effective attacker/winger because he knows how to use his strength.
Add Pjaca to this group, and we will have the strongest attackers in each tournament (with Kovačić feeding them from deep).
@ truth
So what? the gay craze is media driven.
A lot or people still consider it a defect like me
.
@ Vuki
Post the finished product here.
Add to the group genius while simultaneously enlightening some of our less evolved fellow posters.
@ Zlatni Hrvat
Damn homie .. you used the “BUST” moniker on a talented and hungry 20 year old nogometaš.
Vlašić is strong and runs with hunger.
He anticipated that corny Kroos back pass.
He was on his horse early and then had more to do late with the finish.
Vlašić needs to shift his training to allow more core explosiveness in his running. He does look a tad bulky, but he has speed it’s just not electric.
You put him at 10 behind Rebić 9 and then you got direct attacking in the final third.
BUST?
No way.
Everton is the BUST.
Vuki, that goof Aleksander Holiga wrote a bunch of stuff on mamic etc. I think he wrote it for the Guardian.
Hey guys, so I’m doing a research paper on the corruption of Croatian soccer for a business ethics class. I want to make sure I get things right and don’t just used biased articles. I was just wondering if anyone had some really good articles about the different events that occurred. I think I have a few good ones, but any help would be appreciated.
I remember when blanka vlasic and her family disgraced themselves by coming out in support of “u ime obitelji”
That was a clear losing battle as gay rights is taking over like a title wave
With brekalo and vlasic this appears to be a full anti gay Croatian winging attack of the future
Which is why Vlašić is better in Central midfield.
He’s not so fast, but he is big, strong and operates very well in tight spaces. He still goes up the wing at times, but he’s largely been playing in the middle. He’d be great in Serie A or La Liga.
CSKA uses him properly and they are reaping the benefits.
I watched the second half of game and found Vlasic a bit slow. He is a bulky guy, but that is just a first impression.
Vlasic will be a bust so what if he scored a goal by a Real Madrid defensive error.
Kroos is limited.
Casemiro is pedestrian.
Modrić at 33 can’t carry the midfield by himself.
Should have played Kovačić.
Kovačić is better for Modrić than Kroos.
They can’t wrap their minds around supporting Modrić.
If Kroos was Croatian they would have benched him.
Lol .. Real Madrid could us Vlašić as well. Direct all out running and attacking the final third. Also Rebić for that matter.
They should double down on Croatians.
Real Crodrid is the only path for them to compete with Barcelona.
Tbh who gives a flying fuck about Madrid? You that obsessed with Spanish clubs doing well?
I couldnt give a flying urination about how any of those clubs go, only thing i care about is the Vatreni.
^
Let’s see what he does this season you moron, fucking dumbass.
World cup was Rebic’s coming out party you moron, before Rebic Modric was surrounded by “scrubs” in the NT, what did Modric do then ya muppet?
Modric did quite well without Ronaldo at the World Cup you moron. I’m sure he will continue to do well wherever he is.
U21 list came out today;

No space for Coric, Majer, or Balic. All don’t really feature for their respective clubs. I’m assuming Moro is still recovering from his knee injury. CB pool looks sick but no one really there as a natural RB. No Petar Bockaj either
No Ronaldo No Real Madrid.
Modric last season 1 goal 6 assists, Real gonna need a lot more from him.
Can he up his 1 goal a season average?
Can he get more than 6 assists this season?
If Modric is FIFA player of the season, let’s see what he can do without Ronaldo, I’m guessing not much, that’s why he wanted Inter switch, he knows.
So wish Perez let Luka go to Inter.
Fuck him and Madrid for not.
Vlasic turning into a beast! Love it! We need that rambunctious attitude.
Meanwhile, Everton and their stale midfield gets eliminated by Southampton in their EFL Cup game today.
