Ivan Perišić(right) is all smiles after scoring a double against Hamburg on Saturday
Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund, fell for the first time this season as they couldn’t overcome three goals from Hamburg in a 3-2 loss. Croatian international, Ivan Perišić, received his second start of the Bundesliga season and didn’t fail to disappoint. The 23-year-old winger would find the back of the net twice within a 15-minute span early in the second half. Just minutes after the restart, Ivan would score a wundergoal from just inside the box. Ivan received a pass from Robert Lewandowski and calmly lobbed Hamburg keeper René Adler for what was the equalizing goal at the time.
Hamburg would answer with two goals within five minutes to double the lead. Perišić caused Adler more problems after scoring an Ivica Olić-like goal just after the hour mark. Ivan followed a Dortmund counterattack and positioned himself well for the rebound to tap in his second goal of the season. The former Club Brugge star searched for an equalizer but couldn’t get the hat trick in the loss. Perišić finished the match with six shots, four shots on goal.
Ivo Iličević(center) getting mobbed by teammates after scoring against Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund bombed Hamburg with 28 shots but it took only 3 shots on goal for Hamburg to reach the back of the net three times in the win. German born Croatian, Ivo Iličević, started and played 69 minutes for Hamburg in the win. The 25-year-old, former Kaiserslautern star scored his first goal of the season after a beautiful assist from Rafael van der Vaart in the 55th minute of play. Iličević was set free with a through ball to the left side and blasted the ball near post from a tight angle to give Hamburg the 2-1 lead.
Milan Badelj(left) in action against Dortmund on Saturday
Former Dinamo Zagreb captain, Milan Badelj, started and played the full 90 minutes for Hamburg in the win. Badelj played well as a defensive midfielder and frustrated the Dortmund offense. The Croatian international picked up a silly yellow card in the 37th minute of play after bringing down Mario Götze. Hamburg stopped a three match losing streak to start the season.
Mario Mandžukić(R) gave Schalke 04’s Kyriakos Papadopoulos a friendly love tap on Saturday
In a battle of undefeated teams, Bayern Munich extended their perfect start with a 2-0 win at Schalke in front of 61,673 at Veltins Arena. Super Mario Mandžukić started and played 70 minutes in the win. The former Dinamo Zagreb striker was held scoreless for the first time this Bundesliga season. Mario finished with one shot on goal and played a part in the first goal.
Ivica Olić finally on the board for Wolfsburg
Croatian workhorse, Ivica Olić, scored his first goal in a Wolfsburg uniform in typical Ivica Olić style to give Wolfsburg a deserving 1-1 draw against Greuther Fürth on Saturday. After going down 1-0 on an own goal, Thomas Kahlenberg would strike off the crossbar and Ivica as always was in the right place at the right time to head in the equalizer into an empty net. The former Dinamo Zagreb striker is still looking to find his form after recovering from injury last summer. Wolfsburg have scored only two goals in four Bundesliga matches.
Ivica Olić scored another Ivica Olić-like goal
Srdjan Lakić came on for Thomas Kahlenberg in the 87th minute of play. The former Kaiserslautern striker didn’t have enough time to impress.
Ivan Klasnić made an appearance on the Mainz bench for the first time but failed to reach the pitch. The 32-year-old Croatian international has been fighting food poisoning the past few weeks and will be looking to make his Mainz debut on Tuesday at Schalke 04.
SPAIN
Ivan Rakitić scores with his behind Monday night
Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitić scored with his backside Monday night in Sevilla’s 2-0 victory over Deportivo la Coruna. The 24 year-old jumped in the air to block a clearance from Depor keeper Daniel Aranzubía and the ensuing ball went off of Rakitić and straight into goal. More of a goof play than anything else. Sevilla now sit tied in second place with 11 points from their first five games.
Luka Modrić got the start for Real Madrid on Sunday and played the first 60 minutes before being subbed out for Ozil. Real Madrid defeated Rayo Vallecano 2-0.
RUSSIA
Stipe Pletikosa started in goal for FC Rostov in their 3-1 defeat to Spartak Moscow. Stipe will be disappointed to not do better on Spartak’s first goal from distance. Pleti made three saves, and allowed three goals. Rostov lies in 12th through nine games.
(Goals at 0:35, 2:35, 2:50)
Vedran Ćorluka and Dario Krešić both helped Lokomotiv Moscow earn their second consecutive clean sheet in their 3-0 win over Terek Gorzny. Kresic and the defense were rarely tested in the one sided affair and Grozny only registered one shot on target. Lokomotiv’s 3rd consecutive win moves them into second in the RPL, two points behind the pace of CSKA Moscow.
Gordon Schildenfeld was dropped from the squad in Dinamo Moscow’s 3-2 victory over Amkar Perm.
Tomislav Dujmović came on in the 83rd minute of Krasnodar’s 6-1 thrashing of Mordovia Saransk. Tomislav was on the field for one of Krasnodar’s goals. Mordovia moved to last in the Russian Premier League after the loss.
UKRAINE
Photo: Shakhtar
After a convincing 2-0 win over Danish champs Nordsjaelland in their Champions League opener earlier in the week, Shakhtar Donetsk continued their dominance of Ukraine, this time in the Ukrainian Cup round of 32, versus hated rivals Dynamo Kiev in a 4-1 win.
Darijo Srna got the start and played the full match. The Shakhtar captain assisted on Fernandinho’s 76′ shot into the top corner of the net following a blocked volley attempt after a corner. Srna rocketed the pass into the Brazilian, who danced around two Dynamo defenders, before slotting high for a 3-1 lead. In the 84′ of play, Srna capped a wonderful day for Shakhtar as he blasted his free kick over the wall and inside the left post for the 4/1 victory. Srna and his troops are playing a perfect season so far. Not only are they into the last 16 of the Ukrainian Cup, but they won their first Champions League game and are 9-0-0 to start the domestic season.
Eduardo was inserted off the bench in the 80th minute but had little to do as the game was already settled. Dynamo’s Ognjen Vukojević received the start but was ultimately subbed out in the 74′. Niko Kranjčar was rested for this game and remained on the bench after a dismal performance midweek in Champions League, losing 4-1 to PSG.

Nikola Kalinić got the start for Dnipro on Sunday and scored the lone goal of the game in the 15th minute, helping Dnipro defeat Zhemchuzhyna Yalta in the Ukrainian Cup round of 32. He headed home a corner following a corner kick. Defender Ivan Strinić was rested for this match after Thursday’s 2-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League group stage. Kalinić was rested for this match.

ENGLAND
There wasn’t much action from the Croatians in England this weekend. Nikica Jelavić missed Everton’s 3-0 victory over Swansea on Saturday due to a knee knock he picked up last Monday versus Newcastle United. Jelavić is expected to return on September 29th vs. Southampton. Mladen Petrić returned to the Fulham bench after sustaining a minor injury but did not play in a 2-1 road victory over Wigan. Next up for Fulham- Manchester City.
France
Dejan Lovren in action against Lille on Sunday
Olympique Lyonnais remained unbeaten but dropped points in a 1-1 draw at Lille. Former Dinamo Zagreb defender, Dejan Lovren, started and played the full 90 minutes for Lyon at CB. Dejan played well for most of the game and wasn’t at fault for the Lille goal in the 8th minute of play. However, Lovren looked a little lost running back to cover and still struggles to mark attackers in the box. Olympique Lyonnais will face unbeaten Bordeaux on Sunday.

Italy
Pescara’s Ante Vukušić fights for the ball with Bologna’s Alessandro Diamanti(right) on Sunday
After losing their first three Serie A matches, Pescara picked up a well deserved point in a 1-1 draw at Bologna on Sunday. Former Hajduk Split striker, Ante Vukušić, started and played the full 90 minutes in front of 22,491 at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. Pescara came back from an early deficit and played with 10 men for just about the last half-hour after keeper Mattia Perin was shown a straight red for bringing down Alberto Gilardino in the box. Ante finished the match with two shots on goal, but nothing to trouble Bologna keeper Federico Agliardi.
PORTUGAL
Danijel Pranjić received the start for Sporting Lisbon on Monday but was subbed out late in the first half. Reports imply injury, but it is not known how serious. Sporting came back to defeat Gil Vicente 2-1.

I agree with the 4-5-1 formation, this current team has all the players that suit and would excel that system our coaches have to get away from thinking mandzo and jelavic starting at the same time is good

My line is from Ukraine on my mothers and pure 100% Pure fucking Dalmatian on my dads side. His DNA is only found in Dalmatia and a couple spots in Italy.
My dad is from Lika, mom from Medjimurje back generations as far as we know. As Croatian as they come. Turns out though, if you actually step back and undestand how old modern man is you realize the last 1,000 years means fuck all.
Based on my DNA submitted to the National Geographic, the results are as follows and I quote;
“The man who gave rise to the first genetic marker in your lineage probably lived in northeast Africa in the region of the Rift Valley, perhaps in present day Ethiopa, Kenya, or Tanzania some 31,000 to 79,000 years ago. Scientists put the most likely date for when he lived at around 50,000 years ago. His descendants became the ONLY lineage to survive outside of Africa, making him the common ancestor of every non-African man living today.”
You, me and Sammir are brothers! LOL
@Denis, Toni
The best banner so far on the website. Ilicevic is showing a skill set I have not seen from a Croatian attacking midfielder in some time. He is explosive and can score! As Perisic gains confidence we may have the width we need to allow our central talent to create and score goals. We need to go to Skopje with an attacking crew. Is it just me or are our boys representing in all the major leagues in Europe? Our best players are in there 20’s and NOW is the time to step up. I would play some variation of a 4-5-1 and dominate from the start. Thoughts on formations?
On a political note what makes Croatians unique is our culturally diverse history. Invitation to educate yourself on the rich history of the Croatian people. Plus 50% of us live outside of Croatia which makes us even more cosmopolitan. RESPECT.
Elivis,
Duly noted. and I agree.
Moving on.
Ok Ante, but just so you know Sammir sucks!
Boys,
Take it to the Forums

ARMADA87
There is no in-between eh Armada? What are you then?
Go take a tour of the Museum of Modern History in New York City and learn something.
Better yet, send a sample of your DNA into the National Geographic Genome project per link below and then you will truly find out some facts regarding your lineage……that is of course unless you have some unique theories on the conspiracy that is the National Geographic?
https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/
Facts are your friend.
I think you’re all either “Yugo scum” or “dirty Ustase”
That is all.
So according to you we all looked like say Wesley Snipes in Africa in the beginning or were we man-apes?
Shall we accept that ancient Egypt was a black civilization when King Tuts DNA has been proved to be Western European?
A theory eh? Wow. Good luck to you.
@Anony,
That is a theory. A politically correct one at that. However, You just repeat what the T.V. tells you. At one point I can claim that we were all apes on the plains of Africa picking each others butts.
Those apes we were restless and curious picked themselves up and moved on. Creating and engineering along the way. The truth may not be comfortable but that’s life.
And dude don’t mention the KKK. They are Romney Supporters.
What the Croats were before they were Croats does not matter. We evolved and changed for the better.
Ignorant response. They came from Africa originally, as did all races. That is what makes your and HAET’s ignorance so stunning.
Typically, when you begin to delve into facts with racists, they spin out of control in terms of their “logic.” See response to article re African entrepeur as a case in point.
It always surprises me in 2012 to recognize people who are that uninformed and close-minded.
I’m out.
What the Croats were before they were Croats does not matter. We evolved and changed for the better.
@ Anony
Good for that African. Let him invest that money in his own country and make it better. He is not my burden.
The fact that more whites are not killed is because of white flight. Whites avoid black people all of the time. They over pay for real estate to get away. Code word: good school district.
No one said any race is perfect. Let me ask you if Blacks are so good at sports do you think that just maybe people of European decent might have an edge in something else?
Hey Elvis, have a read of the link below and tell me Africans cannot compete….
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/international-business/african-and-mideast-business/the-backbone-of-africa-entrepreneurs-who-refuse-to-quit/article4565485/
“I see Croats as a unique mix of European peoples….” what were Croatians before they were Croatians?
@elvis
Not that I don’t agree with your stance. But I figured you may appreciate some stats…
Regarding race and crime. 94% of blacks are killed by blacks 86% of whites are killed by whites. Per 100,000 individuals black on white crime is only slightly higher than white on black crime.
Whites are also MORE likely to kill a friend or acquaintance, regardless of their race. Overall, Whites are MOST likely to kill a stranger regardless of race, followed by a black killing a black stranger, followed by blacks killing white strangers.
LOL CAVOGLAVE ADAM/EVE…that sounds like Croatian Mormons. It’s not an issue here until someone brings up that interloper Sammir. I could care less about WASPS. This is where I differ from HAET. I am a Croatian Nationalist who believes in an expansionist policy and the preservation of our ethnic stock through sane immigration policies and a government that’s supports Croatian women having Croatian babies. I share no WASP guilt for slavery or giving the natives chicken pox. I see Croats as a unique mix of European peoples who had their history fucked by larger powers trying to assimilate us. Some of you west coast guys who ride Kobe’s dick may not like this but people of African decent are problems everywhere they go. They cannot compete and so fall behind and cause social problems. Croatia doesn’t need them. Our history is full of oppression and yes even slavery but we move ahead.
Conjecture. There are evil people in every race on this planet, as well as good people.
Deal with the individual, first by improving immigration screening and then by dealing with crimes per the individual.
For every crime you mention above, I can point to lots of serial criminals in the US and other European nations for example, committed by WASP’s whose families have been in the country for generations. What does that tell you?
That crime is not racial, there are way more complex issues at work than just where that person was born. Much of it traced back to socio-economic factors.
The day you and your erstwhile sidekick HAET can prove to me that Croatians emerged from the ground at Cavoglave when God created Adam and Eve is the day I will admit you have a case. Until then, STFU and keep this forum focused on sports.
@Anonymous
Enough of the Greeks are awaking to the fact that their culture and people matter. Their government was always a multicultural corrupt cesspool. You really have no idea how bad it is in parts of Athens. All you hear about is how the poor migrants are being beat up but very few of the other stories make the main stream media. The Robberies, rapes, and beatings committed by the invaders on the Greek citizens. Old people mugged for their fucking pension checks and being held hostage in their apartment blocks. Afraid to go out in fear of being robbed and hurt. IT’S THEIR COUNTRY!!! SAME THING GOES ON IN OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. WAKE THE F UP IT’S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
BTW the vast majority of race crimes in the united states are black on white. Rape, murder, robberies, beatings, etc. That’s a fact not a delusion. Is this what you want for Croatia?
HAET is full of passion?!? He is a fucking nut, nothing more.
And where will this “strategy” of yours lead, Elvis? You guys and your conspiracy theories are utterly laughable.
That’s right, point to Greece as a bastion of all that is right in your little KKK world. LOL
For every article you quote like that I’ll find you one where a Croatian man killed his wife or mother or someone else….so what? Delusional.
@HAET
It’s obvious that you are young and full of passion. However, you come on to strong for some of the cattle here. You have to tone down a bit. Most of them will agree with what you are saying behing closed doors. No one wants Africans in Croatia. Cultivate your poltical views. The battle will not be won before the war. Wait until the gates are open and we are flooded with the migrants then counter hard like they have done in Greece.
For some of you, here is the future in Croatia.

End of the day Livaja is still young but keep an eye on him i think something may come of him .. Anyone know anything about that Mario Jelavic that was on trial at Man City?

“You’re the kind of person who takes every comment literally dont ya?”
Hvala Runje.
When you have a chance do yourself a favor and read the book:
Begin, Sadat & the EPL Juggernaut by the author Paul Cleary. It is such a fantastic book! The author goes into such explicit detail on the behind the scenes day to day life in the EPL from all angles. He takes some players with him on his journey with some very crazy results that I will not ruin here. I am still amazed at how much inside information the author was permitted to use when writing this book! You will love it!
LOL @ Vida. Like I said, the PLAY of the HNL is not as terrible as many make it out to be. The other aspects of the league? Laughable, i.e. Domagoj Vida drinking a beer on the team bus and getting kicked out.
Ziva – careful with that sarma. It’s killer.
@Anonymous
You’re the kind of person who takes every comment literally dont ya? Bundesliga’s biggest reason compared to the BIG leagues in the world is because of their shortage of 2 teams. You add 2 more teams to the bundesliga and you will see how much more the league will get watered down. It’s not the only reason, but its a big part.
Cacic not happy with Vida. Throws him off bus.

Time will tell about Livaja, but he is a much better prospect than Rukavina ever was. Rukavina never impressed me. In the short time he and Kalinic were together at Hajduk, I thought Kalinic would be the better of the two.
All good with the toliet. I made my mom clean up the mess. I figured since she made the sarma, she could clean up the resulting mess.
@ ziva
ohhhhhhhhhhhh yeah, he did get that goal. I dunno – my verdict is still out on Livaja. I can see him do something, but I can also see him turning into the next Rukavina (aka the Croatian Henry)
how’s the clean up going after that flooding in your bathroom? fuckin sarme dude, get you everytime …

So an office job is not real work? Really? Really? LOL
I Know but i meant qaulifying a tournament is 1 and half away thats long for footballer, i still trust scifo more than lovren because lovren makes stupid mistakes for croatia and lyon sometimes. Croatia have good young players and good player in good age now just dont have a smart coach!
@Armada……Bolane, halo!!!!! Pa, di si ti. Livaja actually scored last week in Europa game for Inter against one of the russian teams.
@ Dado Prso
Big Joe will not be in the 2014 WC squad, unless he starts taking some HGH/steroids.
Replace Joe with Lovren and Badelj with Radosevic and I think that is the team you just may see. Although, Ilicevic has to put more than one good game together and remain injury free.
How about Stimac tries this team Pletikosa-Srna Carli Joe Strnic Ilicevic Modric Badelj Perisic Mandzo Jelavic!?
The HNL is not a bad league if they get things right and start playing players let me ask you guys would you work work for free like a moron and i dint mean office jobs and eating big mac at work i mean real work and not get payed i wouldnt want to play. I go to most zadar and hajduk and rnk split games and some nice players in hnl remeber no HNL No National Team the 2014 team for wc only 3 diaspora players Joe Ilicevic Rakitic everyone else HNL
I don’t keep track of Inter but has he seen any minutes in big games (a big game for Inter is not playing Hajduk in EL, FYI Hajduk homers – they could of sent out their Primavera team and they would of probably beaten Hajduk) such as meaningful games in Europe vs. a team from the big 4 or league games vs. Milan, Napoli, Lazio, etc.
good call…..Inter is actually giving him a chance with playing time. He might be another one of these kids that Hajduk didn’t know how to develop and be able to make a profit on.
You guys should include Marko Livaja from Inter Milan in this segment. He is regularly playing first team football and scored in Europe midweek.
@Fisto
“Bundesliga is better from top to bottom because there are two fewer teams.”
The Scottish Premier League has 12 teams. That does not make it a better league than the Bundesliga or the EPL from top to bottom.
Other factors greatly supersede the two less teams variable and the quality from top to bottom in Germany is more prolific when compared to the EPL even when you remove the two EPL teams. The EPL has enough goon teams to go around as it does its best to mimic fertilizer.
Thanks for Shakhtar highlights. They are fun to watch.
Bundesliga is better from top to bottom because there are two fewer teams.
Jack,
We live in Nor Cal but have basically spent the last two years in LA every weekend or every other weekend for the wedding and plan to move down here early next year; my wife and her family have been part of Sv. Ante’s for basically the last 30 years and now the next generation of the Ante B. family will as well. Jesus, I will be a tata sooner rather than later. God help us all.
I just watched the Tottenham-QPR game.
It is the 1st / last Spurs match I have watched since our boys left.
They are lucky that they defeated a bottom dweller at home. Without Modric and Rednapp they look like a mid table team at best. (I know that they did have a couple of other injuries.)
I was always critical of Walker when he was picked over Corluka. In an attempt to objectively assess his level of play, I wanted to watch him on a team sans Corluka. My opinion of him has not changed. His passing and defensive positioning are greatly inferior to Corluka’s. However, he is fast and English.
Ice Loves Coco
we need darijo to step up and hit a couple of those for NT
@Ante B:
I thought you were from Northern Ca.?
@Anonymous/Ziva:
I agree about the Bundesliga comment. The Hamburg/Dortmund game was entertaining.
It is a tough/physical league, but there seems to be less reckless goon challenges. The teams are financially sound and their stadiums always seem to be filled.
I only wish that my cable provider had GolTV in HD. GolTV not carrying LaLiga games is great, because they play twice the amount of Bundesliga games.
Dinamo jos navek prvi! Sv Ante in LA listened
I’m a Dalmatinac, but I was hoping for Slaven to win today and take top spot.
I was hoping we had something in Roy Ferencina, and that he could do something remarkable with Slaven this season and become a quality coach for us.
But they just lost a couple of critical matches to Rijeka and Hajduk. Hopefully they make up for it and beat Dinamo in a couple of weeks from now.
Pogledajte fenomenalan gol Darija Srne!

Sometimes it really is like talking to a wall. Ok off to mass at Sv Ante. Some of you need Isus
I agree with the Bundesliga comments. Top to bottom, that is the best league in the world for me.
EPL has the most money and is the best league from a TV production and marketing standpoint.
@Colin O’Haravić
“I watch a lot of lower level soccer. HNL isn’t as bad as some of you say it is (playing wise).”
True.
“It’s no EPL, but no league is.”
The Bundesliga, comparatively speaking is a better league than the EPL. If compared from the top to the bottom which is how it should be done, the entire pie should be evaluated, not a piece of the pie, it should be judged as an entity and accordingly.
Don’t let the pomp and circumstance/regalia and propaganda BS of the EPL marketing machine with its constant cover up of a glorified hack league fool ya.
Please keep up the great work on the HNL articles as they are a welcomed addition to this site!
Colin O’Haravić je kralj!
🙂
I watch a lot of lower level soccer. HNL isn’t as bad as some of you say it is (playing wise). It’s no EPL, but no league is.
No I’ll pass on watching a league where they struggle to pay players and idiotic fans. Enjoy your chats I guess, I’ll do something far more productive. HNL is where zombie plays, I’ve watched one HNL game in my life and thankfully I was drinking during it to get through it.
@ Allen
What are we suppose to talk about between NT qualifiers? Just Croatians in Europe?!? Lol
If you would actually spend the time on the weekends to watch the HNL games, some are pretty entertaining. So instead of bashing stuff you have zero idea about, check it out first.

@Ante B,
“I’m a Dinamo fan, not an anti fan of another team”
This is what sports is all about. RIVALRIES!
This is why all dalmatinci hate Dinamo. Its just the way it is.
Before the war, Dalmatinci hated Crvena Zvezda and Partizan the most. After the war, we now hate Dinamo.
Lakers fans hate the Celtics. Man City hates man U… list goes on forever…. Nothing wrong with a dalmatinac saying “jebes zagreb, jebes dinamo,”
As you know, I’m a huge fan of Zagreb. The only Croatian city thats alive year round. Purgeri are funny people too.
@Armada – Rijeka shouldn’t worry about their defense. Hard to worry about it when you have 9 guys on you back line at all times 😉 They’ll be fine.
It finally happened. Dinamo is jaded to winning in the hnl. Even they want the league to be more interesting. I said it before the league started this year, and Ziva disagreed, but I just want to say it again: Dinamo will win the league, but it will be by single digits.
@T.O.Cro I am Colombian, but I have seen many games of Carrasco (mostly South American Youth Championships) in my opinion this guy is a good player, not expect a lot of goals from him (He is more like winger ) but when he get suit up he will improve Dinamo.
In chile he is considered one of the top prospect to the NT, and he was linked with some Italian teams like Udinese and Genova but in the other hand he is compulsive cheater (he could teach Sergio Busquets some Theater Tricks).
You have a bee on your head!
Jaimjevi,
You’re Chilean, right? What are your thoughts on Carrasco?
Allen go home and put on ur Pajamas , and go to bed
I get that how the HNL feeds to the national team with youth but the fact is that the debate of Dinamo and Hajduk is so unbearable and pathetic.
Vidi ga, majmun smece brazilski cigan, majka ga posrala kada je pojela previse banane. sramota u dinamo majicu, seljacina iz dupe, pravi bosanac, jebem mu pas mater, sarajevski govno. http://www.jutarnji.hr/kelava—ne-mogu-vjerovati-da-smo-izgubili-3-0—sammir—mi-smo-igrali–a-oni-zabijali-/1055501/
The HNL feed the National Team if you take care about the National Team you should take care about the HNL.
Why are people talking more about HNL than our actual national team? Don’t people realize by now that HNL is an absolute dump. Its pretty sad that Croatians don’t even admit to it, yet they still fight on who’s better Dinamo or Hajduk. In reality its all about who’s really worse in a garbage league.
Focus on things more important like actual players on the national team and leave the HNL stuff for Colin’s column if you care oh so much. Pretty ridiculous how people still go back and forth when Dinamo has dominated HNL for years yet people still go back and forth. Pretty pathetic, Allen is semi-outraged but he’s not fully outraged because I’ve lost a lot of interest in soccer but whatever still care for the national team as usual.
Al ga seres u pizdu materinu, al ga i ti drkas do kraja. Yes I hate Hajduk but I won’t root for Slaven tomorrow or stand in solidarity with whomever goes against Hajduk, jadnice. That’s the difference between us
Armada , U r correct . Did I just say that ? Dinamo is not that dominant as years past !!! Hajduk živi vječno !!!
Ziva , did some of the crap that Ante b is saying come out also ? I am a fan not a hater , yea sure . You hate Hajduk , just like all the Dinamo fans .
also….unlike some of you here, I do admit when I am wrong. For the first time in 7 years I am wrong. Usually Dinamo wraps up the league title my mid-October, but it appears that will not be the case this year. So, I was wrong for the first time after 6 years.
true story………..my mom made some sarma……i proceeded to flood my toilet……that is all
Nobody is crying. Just stating the obvious. And I agree with your buddy and you. Dinamo is not the same. Those teams had players like Modric, Corluka, Dudu, Kranjcar, Vuki, Schildo, Pranjic, Ola. Basically our repka. Now? Vida and maybe Kovacic. Still, congrats to Rijeka. I’m hoping Slaven wins tomorrow to make things more interesting but I won’t go as far as you jadnici as to say “I’m with them today.” I’m a Dinamo fan, not an anti fan of another team
@ ante
My boy (another Rijeka fan) and I were just talking about the game and he watched the stream and said the same thing. Dinamo looked like the didn’t show up at all. But TBH, if they did show up – we’re still talking a close game here. This isn’t the Dinamo from years back that were just levels above the rest of the league. Is Dinamo the best? But not by as big of a margin as in years past. Slaven/Hajduk/Rijeka will give Dinamo a run this year, but no way is Dinamo wrapping up the title before the break and winning by 20 points.
Ante b , Don’t Cry . Finally someone beat those arrogant pizdas. No Cop today . Ha, Ha
Kakav wunder strike from Perisic….he’s gonna be a star baby, he’s gonna be a star
Doesn’t feel bad at all because you can tell they didn’t come to play. If Dinamo came to play, they would’ve smoked them. The atmosphere was rocking at Kantrida. I remember those days when we cared
@ Sime
Hvala puno, next week we can go back to talking shit to each other 😉
@ Colin, Ante B. and the rest of the Dinamo faithful
how’s that first loss feelin!? 😉 Colin, so you were saying something about that new scoreboard at Kantrida…. http://www.novilist.hr/var/novilist/storage/images/sport/nogomet/rijeka-pobijedila-dinamo-3-0-prvak-potucen-do-nogu-na-kantridi/1917157-12-cro-HR/Rijeka-pobijedila-Dinamo-3-0-prvak-potucen-do-nogu-na-Kantridi_frontpage_main_news_a.jpg
listened to the game on the radio – i felt like once Cesarec got that early one, that completely deflated Dinamo.
One thing was a MUST after the first couple of games was our backline. Especially after we signed Cesarec, I knew between Benko, Cesarec and Mujanović – along with Culina and Kreilach, the goals would come but I thought our biggest question mark would be our defense. After the first couple of games, I thought it might take us a season to gel back there, but wow – that backline of Caval, Datkovic, Knezevic, Milos, etc. look rock solid now. If they can continue to play like this, Rijeka are a shoe-in for 2nd-3rd.
And last but not least – what a fuckin awesome atmosphere in Kantrida. Packed house, Armada was loud as hell, what more could you want from a HNL game?!
Slaven Bilic doing well at Lokomotiva all the players like him and he is playing nice football, Fuck Stimac BILICU CARE!
@ Denis Just kidding Dinamo have no strikers so many chances no goals
I watched the game. Dinamo didn’t give a shit. Congrats to Rijeka, they actually cared and came to play. Whenever Dinamo got into Rijeka’s box, they passed the ball 378 times and then dribbled 3418 times. It’s no wonder they didn’t score.
@ Denis Rijeka dominated those cheating and no heart losers who will embarass croatian football one more time, no simunic also for them vida bad at cb today,
Its really funny in a way we have a great national team but a terrible coach to put it together i expect to go to 2014 with this team of 30 players to choose from. Some one who mentioned badelj badelj is a good player cm deeplying playmaker we have 3 of them on the national team other countries struggle at that position, Iicevic its a shame he allways hut imagine Perisic Modric (? Radosevic Vukojevic) Ilicevic Strinic Srna at the Backs good wing, instead Stimac wasted the swiss friendly and tried to play a 4-6-0 haha.
Persic, Ilicevic, Olic…. good weekend so far…..
What happened in the Rijeka-Dinamo game. My internet is down. 🙂
as always, very happy to see perisic playing well and score goals probably more so than any other croatian. i continue to think he’s the young player with potential that is the closest to breaking out and realizing it and could be a big immediate boost to the nt (his play already is good, but going to the next level could really change things). he continues to show great goal scoring instincts and creativity (first shot in the highlight film). and out of our nt players, i would think he has be the most likely to ever beat a defender one on one and create, which is also why i like to see his development so much for this different dynamic to the repka.
Wow, beauty first goal by Perisic!!!
Ilicevic nice one too!
3-0… that just happened? I’ll be the first to admit that I was pretty wrong my prediction for that match today. Slaven can take first place if they beat Hajduk tomorrow.
Armada even we , the Hajduk Fans r rooting 4 U this week ! Ajde Rejka ! Beulpo vs. Hajduk , come on Bili, lets kick some Slaven Ass ! I still can’t get over how Awesome the Space Shuttle flyover the L.A. area was yesterday . Beautiful ! L.A. Galaxy vs. Toronto FC tonight . Lets go L.A. ! Bog,Hrvati,Hajduk,Galaxy,i U.S.A. !!!
NK Rijeka up cesarec goal.
Ilicevic is a good player but always injured, which is his main issue. Watch him get injured in 2-3 weeks
watching the hamburg and Dortmund game all three Croats looking good, still surprised how ivo never plays for hrvatska, perisic and ivo both scored great goals badelj looks great playing in that deep midfield role all three should be in the starting line up, badelj is that player we need to play alongside the defensive mid instead of rakitic.
Perisic is a stud. Looks like he’s warming up at a good time with Cro’s two qualifiers coming up soon. Illicevic is looking good too. Anyone know how many caps Ivo has for Cro? I think he’s that midfield option Cro needs to go to the next level.
Good to see “G” Olic bag one today.
I think Croats score more goals per capita then any other nation on the planet in top leagues.
@Armada – Haha you think Rijeka will shut out Dinamo? Please, I don’t even think the refs will let that happen. Until last week, Dinamo was averaging a PK per match.
I’m going with 3-1 dinamo. Going to light up that new scoreboard at Kantrida.
Perisic with a brace and Ivo with a goal. I’m really looking forward to the Hamburg-Dortmund highlights.
Badelj is not a Mamic player…one of the few who wasn’t at Dinamo which is why Mamic never “pumped” him up as much as Sammir for example
@ ARMADA87
Re: the Badelj transfer…
Who were the two unlicensed “agents” that HSV paid a sum of money to?
@ matija
You didn’t hear the news? Mamic took the money from Badelj transfer along with the money he saved from not building the new stadium in Kajzerica and bought himself his own private jet, equipped with a detachable shuttle!
Air Mamic, headed to a airport near you!
Anyone know how long Jelavic is out for?
koj kurac u got the space shuttle on top of your page???
Rijeka 1 – Dinamo 0
Culina bags a late winner
Rijeka move up to 3rd-4th
Ćorluka: Sve teže podnosim bol u tetivi, sanjam dan kada ću normalno ustati iz kreveta!

Hamburg will probably get smashed…just saying
