ENGLAND
Dejan Lovren played the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea Sunday. He could be blamed for poor coverage on John Terry’s 5th minute goal following a corner kick, but Liverpool rallied to find an equalizing goal through captain Steven Gerrard. Although the Reds didn’t go down in defeat, the draw was not enough for Liverpool to keep pace with Manchester United for England’s last Champions League berth. With a Europa League campaign on the brink, will Liverpool management blow up the team this summer? And will Lovren be on the way out of Anfield?
Is the goal Lovren’s responsibility? (2:10)
Andrej Kramarić rode the bench Saturday as his Leicester City club defeated Southampton 2-0 to move them up to 15th place and three points clear of relegation after sitting in last for nearly the entire season. Kramarić was brought to Leicester to help them get out of the rut. They’ve been just fine without him. It looks as if Leicester is staying in the Premier League. What part will their Croatian striker play next year with English experience already under his belt?
SPAIN
It was the quietest of weeks in Spain for the Vatreni. Ivan Rakitić was left off the Barcelona squad in their 2-0 win over Real Sociedad Saturday. Other notable Barca players such as Marc-André ter Stegen and Jordi Alba were also given rest in front of Tuesday’s second leg Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich in Germany. Barcelona hold complete control over Bayern with a 3-0 first leg victory. Look for Rakitić to get the start. Real Madrid were once again without Luka Modrić (knee injury) and it showed as they drew Valencia 2-2 Saturday. The draw takes them out of the La Liga title race with Barcelona, as the Catalan club now only needs one win in their last two games to take the title. Mario Mandžukić got the start for Atletico Madrid and played 61 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Levante. Atletico only need three points to secure a Champions League group stage berth next season. They host Barcelona Sunday.

Hamburger SV squeaked out an important point at home to Frieburg on Friday in a 1-1 draw. Former Dinamo Zagreb striker, Ivica Olić, started and went the distance for HSV in the draw. Ivica put on his usual workhorse performance but only managed to get one shot on target in 90 minutes of time. However, Ivica did play a part on the equalizing goal which just might save Hamburg from relegation. Ivo Iličević was left off the roster sheet by Hamburg in the draw.

Wolfsburg clinched a top three Bundesliga finish following a 3-1 win over Paderborn on Sunday. Former Hajduk Split prospect, Ivan Perišić started and plyed 83 minutes in the win. Ivan didn’t play particularly well, however, the Croatian international was able to break free down the left side and assist on the second goal with a beautiful bending cross with his left foot. Wolfsburg have two more Bundesliga games before they face Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal final at the end of the month.

Bayer Leverkusen put on one of their worst performances of the year in a 3-0 loss at Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. Former Dinamo Zagreb defender, Tin Jedvaj started and went the distance at center back for Bayer in the loss. Tin wasn’t at fault for either of the three goals but he wasn’t on top of his game. Jedvaj has done much better at right back this season for Bayer Leverkusen.

Inter Milan’s Mateo Kovačić saved the best for last as the former Dinamo Zagreb prospect assisted on the game winner in the 84th minute of a 2-1 win over Lazio on Sunday. Kovačić started as a left winger and went the distance for Inter Milan in the win. Mateo didn’t have much of a game as he finished without registering a shot. However, after Lazio went down to 9 players, Mateo put a tiny flick on a through ball to set Hernanes free for the breakaway game winner. Marcelo Brozović came off the bench in the 91st minute of play.

Former Hajduk Split defender, Ivan Strinić started and went the distance for Napoli in a disappointing 2-2 draw against relegated Parma on Sunday. Ivan wasn’t at fault for the two Parma goals and assisted on the equalizing goal in the 72nd minute of play.
Šime Vrsaljko returned to the Sassuolo lineup after being sidelined for over a month because of injury. Sassuolo came back from two goals down to beat Cesena 3-2 on Sunday. Vrsaljko started as a right back and went the distance in the win. Šime played well and wasn’t at fault for either of the two Cesena goals.
Duje Čop and Cagliari will need a miracle to stay in Serie A next season after registering a 1-1 draw against Juventus on Sunday. Duje started and couldn’t get anything going in the draw. Cagliari will need to win their final three matches to have any chance of survival. Igor Bubnjić and Stipe Perica looked on from the bench as Sampdoria beat Udinese 4-1 on Sunday.

you added Al Capone in the Mamic discussion, not me!
You lied by saying that I said Mamic was Capone and even admitted that you might be wrong. Again, this record keeps playing over and over again.
…”See how it sucks when you’re misquoted?”
sorry Ante but I took a direct quote from you, no misquote…you just didn’t like the fact I used your words to prove my point!
you simply called me a liar for your own benefit!
See how it sucks when you’re misquoted?
“You lied”
I did not lie, its how I read it. I have no reason to make things up and I do not, have not and will never make things up to support my argument, I have integrity and just read your example as a comparison, I think others may have as well…I could be wrong.
I said, “I did not change a word”….I did not say “I changed ONE”, please stop making this up…here is my direct quote…” I did not change a word”!
dude, get it straight…you either quote me correctly or don’t quote me at all, I’m surprised that a guy who comes across as bright can “LIE” or overlook shit without verifying what I really did say! go through my comment, its not that far up, you can see what I said!
“Riddle me this, what’s the difference between this sentence: the Serbs did not win the war AND the Serbs did win the war. Exactly.”
I have no clue what you’re trying to say here.
You lied because you said I compared Mamic to Capone when in reality I used the example of placing blame on system vs individual. I called you emotional, princess and off of your rocker because of the diatribe after said false accusations made against me. You even at one point said “I only changed one word”. Riddle me this, what’s the difference between this sentence: the Serbs did not win the war AND the Serbs did win the war. Exactly.
“You know full well what you and I have both personally attacked each other about in the past”
you, in the past and present, me…I think maybe 2 years ago I was rude and quite the asshole to you…which I have said I regretted…and I don’t want to venture down that road again.
you keep going down that road Ante, calling me a liar, a princess, off my rocker…its quite the difference than me calling you assumptive, I at the very least backed up why I said you were assumptive…and the last time I checked, which was 5 minutes ago when I went to take a piss and then wash my hands….I’m not wearing a tiara (princess), I never ever lie…don’t know why and how you threw that one out there….but for some reason other than anything I can explain, as much as I’ve held back from attacking you, you enjoy thinking you’re smart by slinging the stupid comments about me.
if I’ve attacked others, I don’t believe I have name-called as you do….I’ve argued my point and stayed with it, there’s a big difference.
in your comment where you quoted me above, I cannot find an insult although you may take it that way…I’m describing what you have been doing, you assume you know what I think…assumptive!
Oh bullshit. You know full well what you and I have both personally attacked each other about in the past and I’ve read you attack others on here as well. You’re not any better either. When I said accusations, I meant this:
“u like to think you know somebody else’s thoughts, as if you have some special powers that make your assumptions, a fact. I think you can afford others the same le-way you afford yourself…you’re so assumptive and yet, you tend to think everyone else is emotional, irrational, a princess, a liar….have you ever once thought you may be wrong?”
….ohhh…and I’m sorry I had to say that, I hope you feel better knowing I’m sorry for what I said!!!
Ante…it always amazes me when people use the references to religion, as you have on a few occasions, and yet behave as if you have no clue what it means to live a religious life.
saying a few Hail Mary’s won’t save you…actions speak louder than words…you’re very hateful, you think people are intimidated by you and yet, people like me avoid the trash talk, because I know its where you live and thrive…you enjoy being offensive, its in your soul….
I suggest you stay away from re-iterating you’re a Catholic, you could never be one…especially with how spiteful and vengeful you are!
(Slavonac I just read what I wrote and IM SORRY. When I wrote accusations, I did not mean that you’re a rapist, child molestor, mafia member or Super Bowl winning QB.)
And in other news…
13.5.1990. Zvone Boban! Ustani Zvone, Hrvatska te zove zove!
You are literally guilty of all of the accusations in your previous posts. Literally.
” if I used the Patriots, you would’ve said he’s Tom Brady”
you like to think you know somebody else’s thoughts, as if you have some special powers that make your assumptions, a fact. I think you can afford others the same le-way you afford yourself…you’re so assumptive and yet, you tend to think everyone else is emotional, irrational, a princess, a liar….have you ever once thought you may be wrong?
I’m not saying you’re wrong about everything, but sometimes you are clearly wrong and just refuse to back-track and say…ok, I may have been wrong!
I have no clue why you’re diverting this conversation down to child molesters now…
you said: “your constant point is that it’s the systems fault”
thats part of my point, you are assuming I think its only the system…and with that said, I’ll assume you think Mamic is the reason for Global Warming!
you’re a strange cat Ante! In some strange way, I enjoy your sarcasm and humor…even the stubbornness is quite funny, something you have in common with my pokojni stari… but man, you have no idea how much that’ll come back to bite you in the ass…I think you should not just tell me I’m fucked, you can also look in the mirror!
No, your constant point is that it’s the systems fault. I am not wrong in asking about Capone. My “mistake” is that I used him while talking about Mamic though if I used the Patriots, you would’ve said he’s Tom Brady. You jumped the gun and made the assumption. As a Catholic myself, were aware of the child abuse issue on a daily basis. Would you have then said I equated Mamic to a child molestor?
I don’t insult you Ante, who’s emotional here?
Liar, princess…off my rocker?
I’m trying to make an argument without insulting or getting goofy, you tend to resort to name-calling and thinking you’re funny…I can do the same, trust me…I just don’t want to go down that road!
the context of the conversation was in regards to Zdravko Mamic being unethical, criminal, his success while he is shady….
you then said “Agreed on its also the systems fault as well but who was to blame for Al Capone?”
while we were talking about Mamic…so were we comparing Capone to Mickey Mouse?
admit you made an error for once!
Yes because I asked a question about Capone that is reference for who is at fault…the system or the individual…same thing can be asked for the Patriots. Is Mamic now Tom Brady? And I thought I was emotional.
Liar Ante?
all I did was copy and paste your comment, I did not change a word…now I’m a princess and liar?
You’re a liar. I never said that. I asked a general question and you made the assumption and accusation. My question was who was at fault for Capone…the system or the individual…and you went off your rocker.
“Agreed on its also the systems fault as well but who was to blame for Al Capone?”
“princess”?
ok, I’ve already said you’re intelligent, probably smarter than I am…no problem but here you say one thing and then I check…and see that you are wrong…you said:
“I didn’t compare Mamic to Capone”
but here you used Capone as a comparison…I’ll add the definition of a comparison for you:
-the considering of two things with regard to some characteristic that is common to both, as the likening of a hero to a lion in courage.-
: the act of looking at things to see how they are similar or different
: the act of suggesting that two or more things are similar or in the same category
“Agreed on its also the systems fault as well but who was to blame for Al Capone?”
are you saying you didn’t use Al Capone for the comparison?
can anyone else here tell me how they read Ante’s comment?
Notmy Realname,
not only did Simic say that but his facial expression and use of language, said it all…he described him as a “kreten”.
his description of him was really based on how Mamic behaves and although I do agree with him on everything he said, even he wasn’t really clear as to why Mamic should be outlawed. Most of the comments were emotional and based on how Mamic speaks to people in the media…he said he was shocked that Croatia allows such an asshole to succeed…which is what I have asked Ante…who’s fault is it that Mamic has succeeded…he then compared Mamic to Al Capone.
Ante B has forced me to read up on Mamic, I consider Ante somewhat intelligent, but also stubborn…so when I read what he says, I believe there is truth but I also believe his stubbornness doesn’t allow him to back off when he might be wrong or when the issue he is talking about really has more to do with the system than it does about Mamic being a mafia….like Al Capone was!
Also, a lot of what Ante says is true but not illegal…and…there are far more people involved that allow and make things happen than just him…but for some reason, he acts as if Mamic has everyone in the palm of his hand…which would include government officials, the President, FIFA delegates, the Pope, the chief of police.
people have spoken about the fact that Dinamo has been funded by the state, while Mamic has profitted and nobody can account for the transfer money…I have some questions about this…how can this happen? who would allow this to happen? where is the accountability from the state? can some of these allegations be bullshit?
Whoa there princess. I didn’t compare Mamic to Capone. I asked a simple question and you went off the deep end. Calm down my God you’re nuts
Ziva,
Yes, he’s successful in a shit league. That’s what I wrote. I’d love it if any Croatian team could perform like Basel does, but there’s no competition in the domestic league which makes it difficult when competing against better euro teams, as we all already know.
The best analogy I could provide is, how much did Mamic sell Cop for? How much did Hajduk sell Cop for? I think that you get the point.
Plus, Dinamo have a plethora of top prospect in their youth system. Players that are expected to be better than Kovacic & Halilovic.
I would disagree. For a small population and to be able to make it to champion league twice and europa league in the last five years is a success.
Have they been successful past the first round of course not but did anyone really except they would? No team from prva liga could get out of first nound. Nothing to do with intimidation, this is just nonsense.
Succesful in what?????? In a shit league??? Yes
In Europe, no????
I can argue with the amount of talent Dinamo has produced in the last decade, they should have much, much better results in Europe. But, in Europe Mamic can’t intimidate opponents and have preferred referee assignments like ke does in Cro. Again, let me note that even without that intimidation and referee nonsense, they would still win the league.
Would jadan, mali i nemocan hajduk like to have their own version of Mamic. I’m sure they would if it meant better on the field results.
Samo naprid.
Slavonac,
Good rant! What happened to Šimić telling you Mamić was an idiot? It doesn’t matter, because he obviously is not and nor is Šimić as Šimić is obviously making his own play for control of the team.
I, personally, do not think that Dinamo would be as successful as they are and have been, without Mamić. I think that Hajduk would love to have someone like him on their side. Dinamo without Mamić would probably be weaker than Rijeka, atm.
Living in ZG myself, everyone knows that BBB are just a bunch of Hooligans and sheep ready for some šišanje.
I am not a fan of Mamić myself, but he is superior to Canjug and without him I think that Dinamo would suffer for a couple of years. Dinamo has won 10 consecutive championship’s, albeit in shit league, but it just/still proves that he has got good systems in place. Love him or hate him, the man and the team are successful and that should count for something.
iPhone sucks sometimes….damn auto correct!
It just seems as if you want clear examples you’ll get the general response without any real “hand in the cookie jar” type of experience.
Being unethical, influential (or persuasive), powerful, able to get the result you want seems to be a crime. I have had to spend my time reading web pages decicated to Mamic the criminal and yet, the only examples I’ve seen of his criminal acts are the same ones Ante talks about BUT just as Ante has done, many have speculated but never proven anything criminal about him.
There has to be truth to the allegations, there can’t be so many people making this shit up but yet again I ask, who’s fault is it, if he can pay off so many people and get the entire city of ZG to pay for the team of Dinamo and then he keeps the profits, who’s the dummy in all this? Something is wrong with this picture…it can’t be that easy and there is more to this!
To compare an unethical, corrupt and very arrogant man with a murderer is simply silly! Al Capone and Mamic used as a comparison just baffles me and in the end, if Croatia is so dumb to allow a man to reign for 12 + years, and can roam the streets of ZG while murdering, paying off officials and filling his own pockets and the expense of the city of ZG says a lot more about the country than it does about him!
The conspiracies just seem to get better all the time…..ask Capone…..this was priceless!!!
Slavonac
Well said. You always back up your points. Interesting how some of the other know it all on this site are quiet when you post.
You think that’s a fair comparison?
Agreed on its also the systems fault as well but who was to blame for Al Capone? The individual or system?
…on another note…25 years ago tomorrow Zvone Boban made Croatian history…a great Dinamo moment:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=59&v=uXr1Z-MiApo
being around soccer….and being involved in soccer are two very different things Ante. I’be been “around” hockey since I was a kid, it hasn’t really exposed me to the operational parts of the game and I have never taken an interest outside of the NHL whereas in soccer, I’ve been obsessed about it and had up until one point, followed many leagues, several of my friends played abroad and I can tell you, Mamic is only corrupt because the system in Croatia has allowed him to be that way, not because he has some higher power than anyone else.
I read he profited during the war, I’d love to learn the facts about that…maybe there is something that needs to be revealed.
every bit of information I’ve read about him has some truth, I believe it to be true…but then the greater question has to be HOW? how have people allowed him to be so successful at being a criminal?
an example….Mamic’s Dinamo was funded by the state….why is this his problem and not Zagrebs/Croatia’s? do you know how many times I’ve heard that….I’m sure its true, but how is he the fall guy for this?
“money buys power, it can also buy you fear and ultimately, silence”
I believe this to be true as well, but yet again…is that system so Goddam stupid to allow one fucking kreten that much power? where is the responsibility in those that have allowed him all this “POWER”?
some referee’s get involved in match-fixing and from what I know, I may be wrong, Mamic mocks them and then all of Split accuses him of being the perpetrator in the entire scandal!
Mamic insults a government official calling him a “Croat-Hater”…which he is….and yet, those types of public comments can lead to prison….yet the prick is still not in prison….is this his fault or the system?
here’s one that really gets to me….Corluka left for Manchester City (£11.4m), Luka Modric for Tottenham (£18m), and Eduardo to Arsenal (£11.8m)….
what kind of a system can’t account for the money? if you or anyone else is going to claim he fucked the players for their contracts…which, lets be honest, they all knew what they were signing….what type of people would allow money to go missing?
can they all be corrupt?
doesn’t the city of ZG hold any responsibility in this, its their team right?
Croatia entered the EU, don’t you think there should be European laws they’d have to adhere to…and yet we have this guy terrorizing the people….or….do the people allow this and don’t mind him getting the bad publicity while they all reap the rewards of corruption?
Mamic is not alone in all this, thats why I don’t give a shit!
And there you go again, saying the same thing but longer. I haven’t been around soccer that long either. Only since 1989 when I was 8.
hahaha….Ante, if you’ve noticed…there are tons of soccer controversies every day. Croatia is not alone and also, Croatia is and will be a target for match fixing…and I’m sure people will blame Mamic for that to!
the level of corruption in Croatia allows for shit like this to happen. the level of corruption within the system, the government and the entire infrastructure of Croatia is flawed and yet, you tend to “want Croatian sports to be run the right and ethical way”….I would be happier to hear you say you wish Croatia as a Nation would operate in a more ethical way…I really couldn’t care less to know that Mamic has his fingers on an agency that has made many players multi-millionaires…and then only to look at the rest of the league where they could add up the entire transfer fees from every single team in the last 10 years and it wouldn’t compete with what Mamic has done!
but hey…”as long as Croatian sports is to be the right and ethical way”….we’d be ranked 72nd in the world, we’d have some other power hungry idiots running the system and nobody would get paid….because today, Mamic is screwing up Croatian sports!
you haven’t been around this sport very long, I’m pretty confident of that. many clubs are run by the fans…in Argentina, every club is run by the fans and there are controversies every day…you just don’t know about it so this comes across as foreign to you. in Italy, so many people have been involved in corruption, scandals, match fixing…its happened in Germany, so many financial scandals in Spain…but I guess the fact that you don’t follow the game and only follow Dinamo’s BBB only makes you aware of Dinamo’s problems…not the fact that it is an international problem!
Your justification for everything seems to be “well, it happens everywhere.” I don’t give a flying fuck if it happens everywhere. Two wrongs do not make a right. Call me a dreamer but I want Croatian sports to be run the right and ethical way and so do the fans who don’t get paid.
…”FOUR YEARS AGO”…I wasn’t on this site!
“does Mamic have goons?” This article states that the BBB Fan Club has received over 900,000 kunas and nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING RINGS A BELL”….do you know how many clubs have fan clubs that receive money from donations? this isn’t such an isolated incident, it happens in tons of countries!
the agency was unethical BUT was it illegal? thats the question you tend to disregard. over and over and over you repeat the same ‘ol agency piece and yet, if it was illegal, there would have been some action taken…lawsuits…you know…the commies are just waiting to find any reason to put him away but haven’t been successful!
“You bring up the agency that was closed, yet it’s clear to anyone who can connect a motherfucking dot that he pulls the strings and you STILL doubt it”….No, if you have read my comments you would have seen that I have always agreed it was a conflict of interest, I agreed with you…and then when I said Mamic no longer has the agency in his name, your argument shifted…stating he still pulls the strings while my point was that you were wrong…he hasn’t ran it for a long time and if he influences it, its the same shit as any other country…powerful people influence…this is life!
“Your main problem is that through the years all of your questions have been already been answered but for some reason you refuse to remember”
I have always said I believe he is corrupt and has been in many conflicts, I just don’t believe he runs everything and has as much control as many of you have stated.
No, the problem is this. For example, you ask something like “ok, how is Mamic money laundering?” Ziva brought up the stadium yet we e talked about that FOUR YEARS AGO on this very site right after the Dinamo Real Madrid game. You then go on and ask “does Mamic have goons?” This article states that the BBB Fan Club has received over 900,000 kunas and nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING RINGS A BELL. You bring up the agency that was closed, yet it’s clear to anyone who can connect a motherfucking dot that he pulls the strings and you STILL doubt it. Your main problem is that through the years all of your questions have been already been answered but for some reason you refuse to remember.
spoonfeed? you think you add a link to a page that has nothing other than 2 hooligan groups fighting and you say you spoonfeed me? you said Mamic runs the agency that his son runs …you’ve said it many times even though it is no longer true and yet you think just because you said it that you’ve proven something? you might be a bit sensitive towards him and a little to much of a BBB’er….don’t you think?
conspiracy theorists need to do a little more than offer a link to not much more than a fight…which tends to happen in this sport all the time!
Like I said, I abstain because I have reached a point with you where you are clearly in denial and have skeedaddled past being skeptical. I can write til my fingers fall off, I can provide links, I can spoonfeed, etc. but at a certain point, you will deny, deny, and deny some more.
so hooligans attack and fight with hooligans and somehow Mamic is behind this?
“U tom prepucavanju često se znaju i potući gdje god stignu”
Have you ever ventured into Oakland…isn’t it right across from you, where retarded fans shoot as passers in their cars or attack opposing fans? this happens everywhere in Europe…Lazio fans kill Tottenham fans…Chelsea fans are caught on camera chanting racist slurs….one side against the other…so what? in this case, you think anti-Mamic and pro-Mamic are somehow different?
there is organized crime all over the World, so what if one of the cars was an official Dinamo car…how does this make some sort of difference and implicate that Mamic is behind this?
I’m certain Mamic is not clean but what exactly do you think this proves? we are discussing a miniscule thing here while the topic we were really discussing is how corrupt he is and that he controls the league, the NT, the agency, Dinamo, Kovac, Suker…and everyone else between and this article is supposed to support any of that?
Both of these douche bag hooligan groups are criminals…BOTH…none better than the other…whether one uses a gun, a knife, a bat, a chair or even just cold cocks someone not knowing….they are all criminals…I seriously do not understand your reasoning for the link?
I’m sorry. At this point I withdraw because there’s a difference between being skeptical and being in denial.
I think Ziva’s response was a bit clearer. when I read the article posted, I then read below to the comment section and see people question the journalist and counter some of the points made….as in, there are two sides to every story!
Just saw the kind words from San Pedro hajduk. Takoder brate. Next time you see me there, let me know who you are. Drinks on me.
Long snapper from the ole Big D, hvala na toplim rijecima. Spremni
Circumstances always change……don’t get how people can’t see that.
Just because you say something at one point in time when it was factual, doesn’t mean it will always remain factual. Why?????? Because circumstances change.
Sorry decki for being MIA but I was visiting family out of state and as such, my thoughts were elsewhere.
Read this however that should be very interesting and full of proof that Mamic does have his “goons” among others. If it’s not enough, I don’t know what is.
http://www.vecernji.hr/hrvatska/navijace-nakon-obracuna-zvao-sef-osiguranja-dinama-1005003
Also Ziva was on point. That stadium upgrade was nothing but money laundering at its finest. Especially the seats.
Like my friend Ziva said Modric played like a bust under Mourinho. I came on the scene and now Modric is world class. Circumstances change my friends…
What did I say that was wrong………
Well circumstances do change………sit down, I will show you how……
Drazen Petrovic was scheduled to play for the cro national team in the summer of 1993 and probably go back to the NBA., right?????? Well, he died in car crash (I won’t get into the bad choice of women discussion which led to his death, that is another story for another time)……see, as a result of his car crash, circumstances change.
Now, move on.
BH circumstances change of course! 🙂
Maminjo hilarious!!
Hey Ziva since you are so full of knowledge why not fill us in on Halilovic, you recall that crap you were selling us last year on him and how you squirmed at the last minute with your excuses. 🙂
Uh oh. Paradox.
Right leaners are not corrupt but Croatians who are generally right leaners are corrupt.
I think you may have right-leaning values because most Croatians do.
Actually, from a selfish entertaining perspective, it is much better to have Mamic around. The league is so bad and filled with garbage, he is welcomed distraction.
@slavonac……..I am a right-leaning conservative, which by defenition means I am not corrupt
All of them are corrupt.
Mamić simply has the biggest mouth, and has hurt the most feelings so you have a lot of people dedicated to bringing him down…like Živa for example.
😉
…hahaha…excellent example, thanks!
thats a much better way to make an argument…which leads to my next question.
how many of those guys are corrupt? is it far more than Mamic?
i can…….
here is one example….
a few years ago (aprox 5-7 yrs ago), Dinamo decided to get new seats throughout Maksimir. Responsibility of the seats is up to the City of ZG to maintain. Dinamo executed the contract with a local firm in ZG to install the new seats. The price per set was raised 2-3 times more than what it should have been raised; all the money paid for by the city of ZG. Nobody does anything.
Mamic overpays for a player from (insert team here) as a payoff for voting with him in the past or the future.
This shit has all taken place.
money laundering….as is drug money? cash deals in soccer…are you suggesting they are laundering transfer fee money that is normally borrowed money (outside of Dinamo) or in some mafia type deals? I’m confused why they would launder money in soccer rather than to just go to the local thugs and launder it through them? this doesn’t make sense….and….these high transfer fees that Mamic might be paying just may be a sample that he is trying to help certain teams?
I trust nothing in Cro sports either BUT, you’re theorizing again which is something I find to be a bit annoying. why do you insist on theories if you can’t do much more than theorize without offering facts?
All-time favorite Niko goal. Not many players can strike a ball with their weaker foot like that.

Slavonac from Canada says:
so is this last buy he made political or out of necessity to improve his team. I do agree with you, he’s most likely appeasing people for votes but Markovic is gone and I just don’t see why he’d be spending so much money if it doesn’t benefit anyone, other than the league?
Because he is able to keep silent those who could cause him some trouble. Plus, it could be money laundering. Not that it is the case here, but it has been done in other transfers within Cro. A club receives a certain amount, a bloated amount, because according to the contract the players has, the agent or the person representing the club gets a much higher fee than he normally would for a transfer.
I trust nothing in Cro sports and society. Why??? Because nothing that takes place in Cro sports and society has warranted a trust factor.
so is this last buy he made political or out of necessity to improve his team. I do agree with you, he’s most likely appeasing people for votes but Markovic is gone and I just don’t see why he’d be spending so much money if it doesn’t benefit anyone, other than the league?
@slavonac…….he has done this, but for one reason. To gain the votes by the Osijek rep or whatever other club when it comes time to vote on league issues or issues within the savez. This is what Mamic did to ensure Markovic (a person who had dementia) was able to defeat Stimac as savez president. He lines up his people in positions of power or influence and then makes sure they vote the way he wants or they lose his support.
The man is a saint 😉
can someone tell me if this is true or not? this morning, I am flipping through some soccer and news sites to catch up on what I missed on the weekend and I see this:
http://www.goal.com/hr/news/7168/galerije/2015/05/11/7482222/mami%C4%87-je-potro%C5%A1io-milijune-eura-da-pomogne-drugim-klubovima/borna-bari%C5%A1i%C4%87#photo
I have often said that I don’t follow the HNL, is it true….has he helped the league…because if this is true…he’s a bastard for helping and ruining his own image!
although Kranjcar has some value, and believe me, I used to think he could play 20-30 minutes as a sub…I truly think his competitive days are far behind him and other than using him for a set-play or having absolutely no defensive responsibilities whatsoever….he’s not suitable for any league that is considered to be BIG…and I would question whether he could play in the US as well!
I have to agree with all those that I argued with last year, Kranjcar’s ship has sailed and he just doesn’t have much left to offer other than his nice touches, great shot and crossing…but to be able to do those things you have to be able to get into positions where they count and based on what I’ve seen from him in the past 6 months, he’s slower than molasses and I don’t see him ever bringing his game up a notch!
To any of you who care about our homeland. The neo Marxists are about to destory it.

Kranjcar needs to come to play for NYCFC or the Red Bulls. I’ll immediately buy some type of ticket package to support the GOAT!
Don’t see Niko back in QPR btw. Redknapp isn’t there to save him anymore.
I don’t think Jajajlo is even on the radar.
I don’t want Koacic in that role either. Last time we saw him in that spot Lukaku was treating him like a paper doll.
Pasalic might have earned himself a call up, but doubtful he would play against Italy.
Kovacic hasn’t played the DMF role in quite some time. Has the ability to tackle but coverage is questionable. Plus his small stature doesn’t help. He’d rather dribble at players (not dribble to escape tackles) than pass the ball which again is not great for a DMF. He’ll probably start in his normal role as CAM behind Mandza.
For the future, I would like to see him replace Olic and play LM. Then Perisic can go back to RM. There he has the freedom to go at defenders while creating chances too.
Since we have Perica and Bubnjic, might as well talk about the potential back ups to Modric even though the best options are Rakitic and Brozovic.
Badelj – Had a nasty head injury in Europa league and had to come off. He held onto the ball for too long on occasions while playing DMF. Gave it away which led to a goal.
On the weekend, played on the wing and assisted a goal (90mins). Had a game high 10 tackles!!!
Pasalic – Played 83 mins as DMF and had a game high 4 tackles.
Jajalo – Played 77 mins as DMF and had a game high 5 tackles. Also assisted on a goal.
Think these boys are fighting for a spot with Luka potentially being out against Italy?
if Sammir can earn 3.5 million euros a season in China, Krancjar would be worth 5 million + in China
^ ^
If Ronald McDonald has a wife he better keep an eye on her.
Krunchy will be lurking!
With QPR being relegated, where will Niko kranjcar play next year. I’m sure he wants to play in no city that has a good number of McDonald’s available. Plus, I wonder whose marriage Kranjcar will wreck this summer since he will have a few months to kill now.
You know who has had a scent season??????? Kalinic.
I don’t think he is a national team worthy player, but he has had a decent season. Don’t who else are 4th and 5th options……Duje Cop? He also is not a big game player.
i still have some solid hopes for kramaric. he scored goals every where he’s been. in the epl, the start has been slow, but in his first few games he banged two goals and threatened consistently on others. understandable for him to not play much given great recent performance of the club without him in. but i think things are setting up well. leicester will not get relegated and next season kramaric will have a chance to play more consistently hopefully
Well good for you.
I wouldn’t say he is overhyped. Who exactly hyped him up? I don’t see him ever really bein a consistent factor for the repka. Could be a guy with a roster spot, but not much beyond that.
@ziva the dumbass
No kidding. I was being sarcastic. I was the one who predicted back in January he would have no impact and heard from everyone on this site he would save Leicester. Overhyped.
@ Maminjo
Lol.
I thought NK would turn the page a while back.
Surely after Italy II he will play the young studs?
Then again common sense is in short supply, sve znaju.
@ Svima
Perišić back in a rich vein of form.
God bless him as he is the only true winger we have had in the past 8-10 years!
Someone else mentioned him as a future #9 once we blood the young studs. Dobro idea!
Imagine some real speed upfront?
He is getting better and better on the ball. I respect players who can improve through their 20’s.
Actually it seems many Hrvati have this trait where Brazilians get worse ?
Kovacic based on club form and repka firm doesn’t deserve a role unless at is your replacement for Modric. same goes for Mahir Mandzuka, not based on club form over last few months. Now, he will start, but club form has fallen.
@nyc………not amazing at all that he doesn’t play. Have you watched what his teams has done the last six or seven games. Why would they change from that line up. He may end up being a good player, but you usually don’t mess with a winning formula. They are staying up top which means a huge cash payday for the club. Some time you have to take off the homer glasses and look at why a player is not playing. So, if you were in charge, you would play him regardless of the current results?????
My opinion on a 11 lineup based on not just club form vut national team form. Vs italy in empty stadium Subasic Vrsaljko Vida Jedvaj Strinic Brozovic Kovacic Perisic Rakitic Pjaca Mandzukic. Modric is a ? Dont know if will be fit.
It is amazing how Kramaric continues to see no action whatsover. Once again he is benched. Seems he was over hyped.
Croatians in Belgium and Holland :
Ivan Santini went down with Kortrijk against Standard (4-0). Ivan played the entire game and was close to the 1-1 with a great bicycle kick. But apart from them, it’s fair to say that Ivan played better games.
Another Croatian who got smashed was Antonio Milic. He lost with his side Oostende against Lokeren with 6-1. Antonio played the entire game and even scored for Oostende with a header after a corner. Antonio was not really at fault for the Lokeren goals and it looks like he will be in starting eleven for Oostende next season. We can’t say this about Ante Blazevic who wasn’t even on the bench for Oostende.
Dario Meljnak remained on the bench for Lokeren as an unused sub.
Jakolis played the last 21 minutes as striker for Moeskroen against Westerlo (1-1).
Waasland-Beveren still does it without Croatians but lost against (1-2) against Mechelen. Vukusic is back in Croatia again. Cale wasn’t even on the bench.
Season is already over Stipe Grgig-Bacelic. His team Cercle will play in Belgian second division next year. I don’t know if Stipe will stay in Bruges.
Still no Brodic for Club Bruges or Muric for Ajax. Muric played 90 minutes for Ajax B in Dutch second league.
@Ziva Istina
hahaha. bas tako
@Soul Champ
Re: Your comment…
“In the past we have shown up at major tournaments with old legs. Now with the talent pool full of speedy young talent with have to roll up in 2016 with real depth.”
Don’t get your hopes up, lol.
We’re pretty much guaranteed to start a 34 year-old Srna, a 35 year-old Pranjic, and a 37 year-old Olic next year at the Euros.
Friends, quick tip for most of you as today is Mother’s Day. Don’t go on social media sites and wish your mum a happy Mother’s Day if she is not on that social media site. I am seeing plenty of wishes so far today from people while their mum doesn’t do social media.
Perišić is our Franck Ribery.
Halilovic is our potential Arjen Robben.
Give the kid some minutes on the wing against tired Italian legs in the second half.
Play him consistently every game after Italy. All the young studs have to get a run out after Italy.
In the past we have shown up at major tournaments with old legs. Now with the talent pool full of speedy young talent with have to roll up in 2016 with real depth.
Halilovic and Perisic are completely different players so why are they being compared?
Most modern day formations nowadays play with a ‘striker’ winger, and a ‘playmaking’ winger, so i hate that Kovac has stuck with Olic + Perisic.
Perisic should 100% be in the team, so i wish Kovac played another playmaker on the wing. Maybe Halilovic, maybe Kovacic.
Yea, just watched a video of it.
Here it is for anyone that wants to see a one-sided beatdown:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOOI5GFq-Us
Hunt connected well on a few punches in the early rounds, but Stipe has such an iron jaw that it didn’t even phase him.
Iron jaw, golden gloves boxing champion, and Division I college wrestler. The guy was made for MMA.
@Maminjo
It was a complete beating.
I didn’t watch the match, but Hunt is a solid fighter from what I’ve seen of him in the past.
He never seems to get knocked out. I recall Cro Cop in his prime giving Hunt a legendary high kick to the head (with Hunt actually walking into it) and he still got up after it and won the match by decision.
He’s beaten some names recently too in Struve and Nelson.
This is still an impressive win by Miocic. I gotta see these highlights.
@Ziva Istina
You’re right. Lots of people, including UFC, was really hyping up Hunt for a victory. His days are done. He might of been good in Pride but he’s 41 years old. The fact that Stipe wore him down after the first round says it all. Total beating on Hunt, especially in the 3rd round when Stipe was landing punch after punch and looking at the ref.
I know some of guys said Hunt was a respectable opponent. But after watching this match, come on. The dude is a pig. Fat, out of shape and slow.
Now, credit for Miocic and dominating win. But, this guy was a pig. He looked like the type of clown you would hire to be the bouncer at a nightclub
Please make a Stipe Miocic victory over Hunt article.
Hopefully the kid did not throw a hissy fit when he was subbed off
I think Halilovic can become as gooda winger as Perisic. Anything beyond that is a bonus. My 2 cents in case you were wondering.
Question for the father school organized fight club fans…….why are so many of the current fighters of the UFC organization bitching about the new sponsorship deal with Reebox that goes into effect in July.
Every pro league in the US has a uniformed kit deal. NBA with Adidas! soon to be Nike. NFL with Nike. NHL with Reebox. Same thing here.
^^^ do you think he will become better than Perisic, I mean to say.
Ok he’s a winger. So then do you think he will become than Perisic?
Excellent??????? I wouldn’t go that far. I don’t disagree that he might sit the bench next year, although it would make much more sense for him to either stay with the B squad or get loaned. Makes no sense to sit a young kid. Dinamo has reached out to Barca and inquired about a loan back to Dinamo.
Different player than Rakitic. Is be happy of he develops into a poor man’s Robben.
But just how good of a player will he become? Better than Rakitic?
Halilovic has been excellent at Barca B. He’s progressing along nicely, and may even be a benchwarmer for the A team as soon as next season
It is Barca B………relax. This is to be expected. When you play young kids against more experienced players, which is the case with Barca B, you won’t get results.
The main goal for Barca B is not to win games, but to develop the talent. Plus, they could win every game in the second division and still would not be allowed to be in the first division.
The little bosandzero will be fine. He needs a year or more with Barca B. Anyone who thought he would excel rig away is naive. Do you recall what he did in the HNL last year????? He didn’t do much. A few glimpses, but mostly sat. So, you didn’t really think he would go from sitting in the HNL to a staring role wih Barca B, did you????? Hell, even with the Cro youth national teams, he was good, but not great. He is not Messi. He will be a very good player, but give him time.
That is the whole reason I don’t like him being called up to the repka yet. He hasn’t earned it just yet.
What is going on with Barca B!?
They lost again today and are well on their way to being relegated.
Halilovic subbed off in the 52′ and his replacement scored a goal.
Not a good start to Halilovic’s Barca career…
