Nikica Jelavić received the start for Everton on Sunday after returning from the international break. With QPR’s David Hoilett scoring off a deflection in just the second minute of play, Jelavić and company needed to come back to win this one to keep their fine early season form up. It didn’t happen. Everton equalized in the 33′ when a header off the post came back to hit QPR goalie Julio Cesar in the back and roll into the net for an own goal.
Jelavić had an average game, being subbed out after 83 minutes. He was pulled down in the box in the first half but no penalty was given. It appeared like light contact, however Jelavić would have had a good look on goal if he didn’t hit the turf. The game would end in a 1-1 draw, with Everton hitting the crossbar off a header which could have won it. Everton’s Steven Pienaar was sent off in the 61st minute for his second booking of the match, making it a bit harder for his teammates to grab all three points.
Jelavic pulled down at 1:32. Was it a penalty?

Mladen Petrić struggled against Aston Villa on Saturday as Fulham won 1-0 by way of an 84th minute Chris Baird goal. Petrić got the start and played 64 minutes, managing only one shot on goal. There have been glimpses of greatness from Petrić this season mixed in with dud performances. With the win, Fulham sit eighth in the table with 13 points from eight games.

Nikola Kalinić ‘s two goals vs. Zorya on Saturday were not enough as Dnipro lost 3-2, opening the gap between them and a so far perfect Shakhtar Donetsk to 12 points. Kalinić played the full 90 minutes, equalizing the game at 1-1 in the 43′ with a low shot just inside the far post. It was a well-composed strike from the ex-Hajduk frontman inside the box. With Dnipro down 3-1 in injury time, Kalinić cooly chipped the Zorya keeper on the last kick of the game with a ball that just crossed the goal line to make it 3-2.
Ivan Strinić played the full 90 minutes at defense for Dnipro, picking up a yellow card in the first half.

Darijo Srna (above) started Shakhtar’s match vs. Illichivets on Friday on the bench due to their midweek Champions League clash with Chelsea. However, after going into halftime down 1-0, Srna was inserted at the break and assisted on the equalizing goal three minutes into his day. Srna took down a long cross-field pass on the right flank, made a move on the defender and picked out a wide open Ilsinho at the top of the box, who one-timed into the far corner of the net. Five minutes after that, D. Chygrynskiy scored to put Shakhtar ahead 2-1, and it would end that way.
The come-from-behind win marks Shakhtar’s twelfth win in 12 games to start the season. They are also up 12 points on second place Dnipro. Can they possible make a run at a perfect season? Eduardo was not on the squad for this game after scoring against Wales in World Cup qualifying midweek.
Ognjen Vukojević played the full 90 minutes for Dynamo Kyiv on Saturday and Niko Kranjčar came on at halftime as Dynamo dropped more points this season, this time in a 3-1 loss to Metalist. Dynamo could have been looking forward to their Champions League encounter with FC Porto in Portugal later this week, but now find themselves 12 points behind leaders Shakhtar Donetsk. Vukokević picked up a yellow card in the 55th minute of play.

Bayern Munich continued their unbeaten Bundesliga run with an impressive 5-0 win over newcomers Fortuna Düsseldorf in front of 54,000 at ESPRIT arena. “Super” Mario Mandžukić opened up the scoring in the 28th minute after getting in front of the Düsseldorf defense and smashing in a Franck Ribery cross from close range. ESPN is starting to catch on by saying: “Mandzukic did what he does best, namely scoring from close range for his seventh goal of the season.” The former Dinamo Zagreb striker had another shot at goal and a couple of nice passes in the rout.
Mandžukić goal vs. Dusseldorf
Besides scoring Ivica Olić type goals this season, “Super Mario” has frustrated Bundesliga defenses all season with his speed, aggressive play and just knowing how to be in the right place at the right time. The 26-year-old striker leads the Bundesliga with seven goals.

Wolfsburg have hit rock bottom after falling 2-0 at home to Freiburg on Saturday and finding themselves on the bottom of the Bundesliga table. Croatian international, Ivica Olić, started and played the full 90 minutes for Wolfsburg in the loss. Ivica had a few half-chances at goal but couldn’t get Wolfsburg on the score sheet. Srdjan Lakić came off the bench in the 68th minute but couldn’t get anything going in the loss.

Hamburg missed a golden opportunity to move up to a Champions League spot in the Bundesliga with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Stuttgart on Sunday. Former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder, Milan Badelj started and played the full 90 minutes in the loss. The 23-year-old, Croatian international was not at fault for the lone goal. Ivo Iličević remained on the sideline because of an injury.

Borussia Dortmund left 80,645 disappointed at Signal Iduna Park as Schalke 04 came away with a 2-1 win. Croatian international, Ivan Perišić, started and played 51 minutes in the loss. Ivan didn’t have a great game and couldn’t get much going from the left side. Dortmund will have a difficult time repeating as champions as Bayern have jumped to a 12-point lead.
SPAIN
Luka Modrić played the full match for Real Madrid in their 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo. It was his first appearance for Real since September and soccer pundits were very impressed by his performance picking him as one of the shining players. He played deeper than he had previously under Mourinho, similar to where he played for Tottenham, and was able to dictate the play and control the game. It will be interesting to see if his performance warrants him a spot on Wednesday against Borussia Dortmund. The win moves Real into 4th in La Liga.
Ivan Rakitić and Sevilla play at home against Mallorca on Monday. Ivan leads the team in assists (2) and yellow cards (5). Ivan and his girlfriend recently opened a restaurant in Sevillla.
RUSSIA
Croatia’s #1 and #2 keepers faced each other on Sunday and both men held their own as Rostov drew 0-0 with Lokomotiv Moscow. Stipe Pletikosa and Dario Krešić both made a few saves, but neither side was really able to test the goalies, as shots sailed high and wide throughout the game. Vedran Ćorluka played the full match at the back as well for Lokomotiv. The draw leaves Lokomotiv in 5th and Rostov in 14th, two points from relegation.
Tomislav Dujmović played the full match in Mordovia Saransk’s 2-0 loss to Dinamo Moscow. Gordon Schildenfeld was left out of the side for Moscow. Dinamo Moscow is in 12th, Mordovia in 15th, through 12 games in the Russian Premier League.

Former Hajduk Split goldenboy(not goldenchild), Ante Vukušić, is still looking for his first Serie A goal after six games for Pescara. The 21-year-old, Croatian international came off the bench in the 54th minute of play in a 1-0 loss at Udinese. Ante had a couple of half-chances in the second half but didn’t really trouble Udinese keeper Željko Brkić. Remarkably, Udinese played with a man down for the final hour of the match.

ohh boy……someone needs to tell Rakitic the era of frosted hair is over with. Dude needs to stop painting his hair. Plus, his hair seems to moving away from his forehead at a faster rate than LeBron’s hairline.
Rakitic has completely Spicked out 🙂

Emir Spahic makes an appearance too.
he hardly looks like a boss…….he looks like the type of guy that would run away from any type of argument with another individual lol. He looks very soft and weak………lol

lol
Warren Barton and Eric Wynalda were raving about Jelavic during the pregame banter.
Barton said Jelavic is a top 5 EPL striker who will probably be sold to a bigger club.
They were surprised how prolific he is considering the lack of service.
Rakitic may not know how to head a ball, but he sure looks like a boss with his top notch girl.
Cheap excusses!

@Ziva- I don’t care about HNL, when have I ever posted about HNL. Could’t care less.
I want to talk about national team and the players on it along with how they are performing.
It’s an epidemic in lika. I feel for all the females in lika and how they have to deal with the men and their stench.
@ziva – I laughed so hard because my Dad’s friend is from Lika and all we talk about is how bad he smells. So, he’s not the only one?
@ziva istina
Are you from lika?
says she was born in serb, is she croat blood though?
actually i remember when i was living in cro people talked about tamara boros a lot. only reason she was so popular is cause she actually beat the asians sometimes. probably top player outside of asia ever.
As Denis said, nobody cares about table tennis or other smaller smarts. So, cro can have a man from mars representing us and nobody would care.
Interest in table tennis in Croatia is the same as men using deodorant in Lika…… It just doesn’t happen.
@ anon. Sopcast is great for streaming games in HD and I think that it’s free…
Ruiwu Tan, great china person. Silly looking as a Croat though.
@Capitals55,
Because no one cares about table tennis.
How come nobody is crying like a little bitch over Ruiwu Tan or whatever his name is. Hes looks as much a Hrvat as Sammir does.
Wow, Everton looked like complete shit today.
Anonymous they’re all like that.

does anyone know what the best ‘pay’ on-line footy games service is? the free games I get on adhte, etc… are full of ads, take about 6-9 tries to connect and crap out a lot…. totally frutstrating when hrvatska is playing!!!
@allen……because its a topic that people care about. Nobody is here to talk about the HNL. Shit league that nobody cares about. People rather comment on Mamic and influence he has on the game and federation in Cro.
Come on to Croatians around Europe and 95% of comments are about Mamic or Sammir or HNL.
God this site is really starting to suck.
Cro- Serbia is split would be outstanding for so many reasons. Our guys would be more scared to lose that game then the Serbs. They would shit their shorts upon landing in split for practice. We need to see this happen.
If we win, it’s a great celebration. But, if we lose, the typical budale down in split would cause so much crowd trouble that UEFA would bring down unprecedented punishment. Win or lose, it would be something to talk about. We need to see this.
I hope it’s in Split so they can tell the HNS, Sammir and the Serbs what they really think in a packed stadium with that dalmatinski temperament. I’m fine with Cro Bel in ZG.
Serbia – Poljud
Scotland – Gradski vrt
Belgium – Maksimir
Serbia at Poljud is a ticking time bomb! Half of me would love to see it and half of me can see us getting into nonsense and having UEFA up our ars.
I like Gradksi Vrt for Scotland as it is great for the people of Slavonia and they are all in.
Belgium in Zagreb is what it is. I hope we support our boys as a win could be necessary.
Mandzukic is a goal magnet. I know it is the Bayern service but he will get the same from us if we keep 5 in the mid-field. Once he tires, then we unleash the beast that is Jelavic. I love it.
I think it is clear that our beloved Hrvatska has a lot of work to do as it forms itself into a viable democratic state. We have to deal with the root and stop obsessing over the symptoms.
Bog i Hrvatska!
Štimac: Bi li Radošević i Dudu igrali da Mamić ima utjecaja?
http://goo.gl/w4L1n
I’m glad Mandzukic scored and Modric played well today.
In other Croatian sports news, Croatian international Ruiwu Tan won at least a bronze medal in the European Championships in Table Tenis. He is one of the best players in Europe. Let’s hope he wins the Tourney.

@Dukic , you are correct . All this talk about Mamic , & Sammir is making them as big as movie stars . Please let’s Stop talking about these Dinamo trouble makers . Hajduk would never do this to our National Team .

Mandzukic with another goal today.
@ BZ – haha, my favorite line
@Jarac, haha, I’d be scared!
@Matija – spot on
…then again, who would want to live like Mamic? Constantly worried that something will happen to his kids or himself -kinda like Pacino’s character in Scarface.
He’s paranoid to a point where he lashes out like a wounded animal whenever he is questioned. He’s.hoping that everyone will forget who he really is, but knows that will never be the case. He has created a surreal world for himself.
In the end, he will slip up and lose it all – they all do.
mamic cant have an accident cause a certain x bbb hitman is his security , and if u know anythng about the bbb u know who he is. Money talks and mamic has lots of it, So if he went so does the money. Thats why he wont just dissapear.

Evo ti pravi mamića.
prodajem prasce !
Mamic is a comedian, sit on my dick. Lol
Why doesn’t BBB just get rid of Mamic? People have accidents everyday, things happen, you get depressed you shoot yourself in the back of the head 2 times. If someone were to make those same comments to me it would be my goal in life to terminate their existence and let God figure it out.
Mamic is the systemic problem with Croatia, they are a tumor that needs to be removed.
nice web site u guy’s have here, good luck to all players involved in soccer this week
hahaha, man that clip never gets old, I remember me and my dad having laughing attacks watching it when it came out. U think if i was mamic for halloween anyone would get scared, hahah
