It was a week to forget for some of Croatia’s most noticeable players.
Dejan Lovren looked slow and out of the game as he was (partially) at fault for two Tottenham goals on Sunday before Jurgen Klopp mercifully subbed him out of the match after just 31 minutes. Liverpool would go on to lose the match 4-1. It’s fair to say Lovren isn’t THE problem at Liverpool, but a lot of their derpy defense this season falls on his shoulders. In his defense, he has been playing through injury all year, and has been taking large doses of painkillers to get through matches. The loss leaves Liverpool last among the “Big Six”, but only three points back of fourth in the Premier League.
Lovren to blame at Liverpool?
Klopp slams Lovren
After the match, Lovren deleted Liverpool from his Instagram bio.
Mario Mandžukić earned himself some much needed rest on Sunday (sarcasm), picking up back to back yellow cards in the 26th minute against Udinese. He was first given a yellow for a minor scuffle with Udinese defender Ali Adnan, which seemed harsh. After making his opinion on the call very clear to the referee, he was shown another yellow and sent to the stands. The match itself was action packed. Juventus led 2-1 before the sending off, conceded an equalizer early in the second half and then scored four unanswered goals down a man to win 6-2. Also of note, 22 year old Stipe Perica scored the first goal of the game and his first goal of the season for Udinese. Mandžukić will be suspended for Juventus’ next Serie A game on Wednesday.
Stipe Perica Goal
In Europa League play on Thursday, Domagoj Vida picked up a nasty head injury that left him on the pitch for an extended time with blood gushing out of his head. The good news is he was able to leave the field of his own accord and hopefully will be ready for Croatia’s World Cup playoff on November 9th.
Where was the Klopp love when Lovren scored critical game changing goals?
The truth is, Klopp has finally flopped at Liverpool and he wants to blame players? That’s lame. Who’s next? Liverpool players are like the national team players…play very well for the new coach for a year then back to losing.
Luka Modric—9: Game after game, the Croatian just dazzles. He makes it all look so easy. He orchestrated every attack for Madrid and was a constant outlet for the defense. Had a cheeky dummy late in the second half and then ripped a shot from outside the eighteen only to see it go narrowly wide. Would have been a lovely goal to cap a great performance.
Ukriane was an insight to where Modrić needs to play for us.
We need width.
Strinic provides natural width his entire career.
Had club struggles and an untimely injury before Brazil 2014.
Then had to secure a contract for himself.
Lovren/Čačić beef is inconsequential at this point.
Greece is going to muck up the middle.
Strinic is big and strong going foreward down the left flank.
He can whip in a decent cross of the likes Mandžukić can elevate and head into goal.
If you can’t cross the ball in then you might as well sit Mandžukić.
If some young LB stud breakthroughs over the next 6 months then great.
Greece play-off I am all in for Strinic. I seen enough for Sampdoria to know he can be effective in November.
@Anon-seems everybody keeps going back to Strinic, because they limit themselves to believing in the false dilemma ie Strinic or Pivaric? I say neither. Our team has never reached it’s potential, and it never will with either of those guys in the fold.
Lovren is already being usurped by Mitrovic. Not a fan of Lovren, so hopefully we don’t require his services come next summer.
has the tide turned for strinic on this website
@soul champ. Well said.
Strinic at LB.
Vlašić was on fire today.
Greece are going to play a nasty foul fest, like Portugal.
We need young power running all around Modrić.
Let them fool Luka near goal for free kick opportunities.
Lovren is not well physically and would probably break down against Greece.
If Greece scores on us, it will be via one of Lovren’s brain farts
We got to have corluka and vida as our middle guys but who plays on left side is vrsaljko is on right.
One of our guys have to reinvent themselves as a LB
Or we need to just adopt someone good desperate times call for desperate measures
Guess it will be strinic
Most likely our d is nuff against Greece
I think for this playoff at least our best defense will be our offense
Lukitaaaaaa Magic
My God is lovren bad.
And Mandzukic just got a red card. I think he told the ref to go fuck himself.
Now that Pivarić is out of the lineup, our new weakness will be players going at Lovren.
Will be nice to have Ćorluka back.
Stipe Perica just scored for Udinese against Juventus. And then ANOTHER Samir who plays for Udinese scored FOR Juventus. Good game.
And he gets subbed off after only 30 mins
Just horrible
Lovren looks completely lost today
Embarrassing
Lovren having a horrible game today
Maminjo . Lucky dinamo didn’t lose. Hajduk controlled the whole first half . Dinamo played a good 20 min. at the end that’s it . 2 penalties at the end , 1 not called as usual for Cro’s team , but hey no big surprise. Same old , same old thing . Can you say payoff ? I knew you’d couldn’t .
Slav from Canada . Your full of crap . There should have been a second penalty also on your dinamo ref paying pricks
@DannyJ- Perisic is so versatile, he can play LW or Rw with ease. We are all scared to play him on the right again, after we looked anemic vs Iceland. I wouldn’t hesitate to play him on the Right & play Kramaric on the left. All Kramaric’s best goals were from the left, outside the 18.
Still think Perisic at LB would beat any lineup Dalic will put out.
@Danny j. Agreed. Maybe perisic slips back a bit i dunno. Good point though!
They probably won’t start Rebić and continue with what we had against Ukraine, with Perišić and Kramarić on the wings, Manđžukić up front and Modrić behind them.
Rebić or Vlašić will be the first ones off the bench.
Agreed rebic may not be our savior but with him on one side perisic on other karmaric in middle our stagnant offense may just come to life
But what side do u prefer who on?
Where does mandzukic go?
I swear man he got to become a reinvented LB for us
He would go down MVP for us most versatile player
Hezonja has 8 in 12
On a real obscure note. Hats off to tin srbic from zagreb who won the gold medal on the horizontal bar at the world gymnastics championship. Good for him. Always i appreciate our athletes who win. Not that that I’m into gymnastics but nice result.
@maminjo I think you’re overlooking hajduk first half they were a lot better then dz but you’re right 2nd portion of the game was all dZ
That penalty for Hajduk was a weak call! 9 out of 10 refs would never call that but anyways it kept the game interesting!
At least Hajduk can’t say they were robbed cause today they were gifted!
Hajduk very lucky not to lose that one.
It was all Dinamo at the end of that game. Porous defense.
Perisic can move to the right for Re-bitch slap some Greek bunkering.
@idemo. Ya watched it perisic was quiet. Him and rog exchange jerseys after the game.
@idemo
ya nagatomo is crap technically
rog on for the last 15 of Napoli inter
perisic has been rather quiet today has been working back a lot
i find it suspicious that soudani was offsides the first goal but the ref didnt call it
I find it suspicious that hajduk gave two weak goals at the end of the game. Could be they all bet against themselves for a dinamo win. Maybe they should be investigated? Sorry I forgot they just suck.
@Torontofaggot
“refs give tovars a penalty”
cuz it was a penalty u midget Avar. and there should of been another penalty for hajduk right after that
BILI SU BILIIIIIIIIII
And the refs give the tovars a penalty..but no win.
Plavi plavi
Hajduk received a penalty in extra time must be mamic fault
OMFGGGGGG
2-2!!!! fuck should have been a win
Hajduk can’t hold on to a lead must be mamic fault.
PENAL
FUCK
FOR FUCKING CHRIST SHIT 2-1
@maminjo on the “soccer streams “ redddit if youtube is a option they post it ……usually 1-2 hours before kickoff so there’s less of it being taken down
But regarding football from cro I think there’s some dedicated channels to live streaming our stuff
Regarding rebic agreed with everyone. Needs to play.
@idemo
How do you find these YouTube Live games in advance?
Is there some sort of schedule online?

Another great game for rebic, i really want to see him play RW vs greece
Rebić beasting on the LW v Dortmund.
Big draw for Frankfurt and Kovač.
Rebić is definitely a member of the bunker busting beasts.
