With snow falling at Anfield and Liverpool up 1-0 against city rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby Sunday afternoon, Croatian defender Dejan Lovren was booked and called for a penalty in the 76th minute after the slightest of hands was put on Calvert-Lewin. Wayne Rooney would convert the penalty and the match would end in a 1-1 draw. It appeared to be a very soft penalty call but with Lovren’s recent reputation, he will once again be the scapegoat for Liverpool as the Reds should have easily scored another goal or two. But at the end of the day, it will be Lovren’s foul that everyone will be talking about.
Lovren foul at 1:43
In a pivotal Serie A match with first place in Italy on the line, leaders Inter Milan played out a scoreless draw against reigning champions Juventus on Saturday. Juventus controlled the attacks with eight shots on goal compared to Inter’s one but neither side could fins the back of the net. With Napoli also drawing on Sunday, nothing changed in the Serie A top three. Inter Milan remain in first place with 40 points followed by Napoli (39 points) and Juventus (38 points).
Ivan Perišić was given a “6” grade as he “wasn’t noticeable” while teammate Marcelo Brozović also got a “6” as he “missed the net on a late chance.” Juventus’ Mario Mandžukić was “in the right place at the right time all night long, but he failed to capitalise on chance after chance. Hit the woodwork then blazed an effort wide. Kept pressing and while his workrate can’t be faulted, his lack of finishing made it feel like two valuable points dropped.” He received a “6” grade on the night.
Serve was held in Spain on the weekend as both Real Madrid and Barcelona won. Barca keep their 8-point lead on 4th placed Real Madrid. Luka Modrić played 71 minutes in a 5-0 win over Sevilla as Mateo Kovačić looked on from the bench and Ivan Rakitić played the full 90 minutes in Barca’s 2-0 won over Villareal.
@Anonymous & @Elvis
Let me bring you Americans up to speed.
“E pluribus unum,” Latin for “Out of many, one”
This is an old motto of the U.S. of A. which they eventually realised didn’t suit their stupid nation.
Recently I saw a smart American ask the question, “we have the pluribus, but what is our unum?”
Of course faith can not be America’s “unum,” because there is many different faiths in that place, so, taking into account that America is a multi-cultural country, the “unum” is the nation with many factions Lol!
So what the old American motto meant was, “out of many nationalities and races, one nation with factions,” this is the stupid American way Lol!
Even today you can hear stupid Americans uttering things like “unity in diversity.” These American morons are of course Croatia’s masters.
We also know that modern Croatians prefer the American way, as is evidenced in some of the absurdities that Croatians speak of a true Croatian patriot and prototypical Croat in Ante Pavelic, and all to appease their white Protestant and Jewish masters. And with that being the case, in Croatia’s bid to impress their American masters, it is indeed possible for a black man to become a Croatian national.
He can call himself African Croatian much like how in the U.S. they call themselves African American.
Of course a black man can never be your prototypical Croatian, but none of you guys are either!
I’m the only prototypical Croatian left in the world.
Surely no one is so stupid to believe that America helped Croatia win their dependence so they can keep their nation white?
Fag? Cause I don’t identify people by their skin color. Elvis I hope I have the chance to run into u and the nameless fuck listed above in person. I’d love for u to call me just a fag then. Take cover behind your screen pussy.
A Croat took his life a couple of weeks ago.
Adame your just a fag.
@ really Adame
How the fuck do you just give your identity
Away? Why do you even call yourself a Croat?
You are the problem because you are faux
Croatian.

“Race is the only judge of identity”
You sir are part of the worlds problems
@adame
Race is the only judge of identity. There is no such thing as black Croatians. Where do you live? A nice white suburb?
@fake zee. How old are you twelve? Grow up!
i sprinkle, when i tinkle
Don’t watch the pro league but from what Ive read Kalinic seems like a solid player and he was linked heavily with a move to the prem in the summer. If subasic’s form doesn’t improve or if he looses his starting spot, which is definitely possible given his recent performances, kalinic shoud be given a chance to play
Oh didn’t know he was actual Catalonian. That potentially change things. He can try to roll with us then even go to play for Catalonia if that ever happened
Anyways ya bout subasic… would Kalinic be ready for the best big stage? How’s his season been thus far
@serb. Why do you say that?
^
Serbs are worser.
Croats are the worst

Not sure wtf ur talking about. Genocide convention? Easy there my guy ur just not understanding my context. If this Spanish kid was black or white would it make a difference? No. It’s the fact he isn’t Croatian so let’s leave race out of it.
How is he a reject? Cause he’s a baby and isn’t an iniesta or Isco yet? Because a couple people on Croatiansports.com said so? If the kid shows he loves the country, learns the language, eats cevapcici for breakfast and has respect, then I’m all for it.
On another note- my grandparents are as Croatian as it gets and dido fought hard against the Serbs for our independence and the one thing they taught me was to respect everyone and accept anyone regardless of skin color or race….y’all are some racist fucks!
KAMEEEHAMEE HAAAAAAAA
Like my favorite 90’s toy says, Olmos the Homo can “eat shit” when it comes to representing our homeland.
Zee// quit trolling
Spanish are very particular about who gets a call up to the National Team.
The Spanish FA, like many European football associations, are run like a old boy’s club.
You don’t leave Barcelona as a youth and not expect there to be some sort of bad blood. These guys will remember this. They would prefer to have players who they developed, through their clubs (and not some “Eastern European” club).
Players like this always have to be extra good to get a call up.
It’s also interesting to note that Dani Olmo doesn’t get callups to the Spanish U19 team…
What changed?
I think the Olmo family came to Zagreb because it focuses on youth player development. It was a career focused move.
Playing for a National Team is a also a very critical career move in football. They may have lost that chance for Spain now, with their decision to move to ZG.
He looks like an okay player so far, but not anything great yet. They are probably trying to get him a Spain call up so they can sell him. I’d Spain won’t call him up, then I can see a Sammir caliber call up (with a few games played) then a quick sale. I dunno, we’ll see.
@idemo. Yes its just a friendly conversation i could care either way. Nobody talks about Nikola Tavares. South African born to a Portuguese father and a Croatian mother. Is that ok because of his mom? I dunno. Ya forgot about that Qatar handball team that was funny.
I’m supprised no ones talking about subasic’s awful game. He just seems way too mistake prone. They should give kalinic the starting spot for the world cup
zee
your comparing apples and oranges, of course they left Croatia to enhance their careers and lives but they left for clubs they didn’t leave to go play for Spain Germany
this isn’t anything new I remember when handball championships were in Qatar, the Qatar team had a handful of balkan players payed to take Qatari citizenship and play for them
I know they are croats I’m just saying though. Or as in every kids dream to play on the biggest stage in the world. Euros and of course the world cup. Did they have a better chance with Croatia. Probably we will never know. Maybe with this young man could political unrest in his native Catalonia have something to do with it. Nobody knows. Maybe like you said his intentions are real. I dunno.
Well zee they are croats I was born in Canada but I know for sure if I could have represented cro for anything I would
Just like kovac bros…. there is no hesitation on that
Now I feel with cro becoming even more brand name in soccer others may try to jump on the train for their careers
Like I said maybe this kid loves cro we don’t know. Maybe his intentions are genuine in that case I would welcome him with open arms
Maminjo i understand and im not arguing with you. Then tecnically i know its a little different but we have had a lot of nt players not born in Croatia proper. Ie. Kovac brothers, Simunic,Kovacic, Pasalic , Rakitic etc. Why did they leave their country of birth? Too enhance their careers or love of Croatia?
People don’t go after Garcia because most people don’t follow Waterpolo as closely as football, nor do they care about it as much.
Everyone here can tell you the names and clubs of every single Croatian National Team football player.
As for waterpolo, you’d be lucky to find someone who can name you more than five waterpolo NT players (and I highly doubt they could name any of their club transcripts without a Google search).
Football is just a lot more sacred than these other sports. Just how it is.
I don’t think the olmo guy is a reject at all. He was captain of the spanish under 17 side. Has it occured to anyone that he might just love Croatia? I don’t see the pundits going after Garcia for taking croatian citizenship to play for our world champion water polo team. I dunno know. If he can play thats good. I have no issue with it.
dannyj
you mean him using us for HIS career
Lots of fake Croats here. I tell people this is a Yugo
Site to keep them away. Croats are white and have no burden. So deal with it.
I just don’t want us using him for his career. We have nuff good kids that can play for us… I don’t know maybe he is awesome maybe u guys know more. But something tells me if he were awesome spain would not let him go
“Maminjo” said: “There is no difference between this Spanish kid (Dani Olmo) and Eduardo and Sammir playing for us.”
Well yes there is: the Spaniard is White. Non-whites have nothing to do with the Croatian nationality. Spaniards are part Visigoth(Germanic) and Croats are part Ostrogoth(Germanic).
Why is it a crime for White countries to stay White but not a crime for Black countries to stay Black or Asian countries to stay Asian??
“Adame” said: “Race has nothing to do with anything except shit talk”
Oh really? So the Genocide Convention that is supposed to protect each RACE from being annihilated BY ANY MEANS in whole or in part is just “shit talk” huh??
“Maminjo” says any White person who God forbid wants White countries to stay White is “scared” AND wants them censored. Now you tell me who’s scared? And why does allowing White people the free speech to live in their own communities or not scare you anti-whites so much?
Don’t forget to add Vrsaljko’s game winning assist to the write-up. First game back after his back injury, and he leads Atletico to a record undefeated streak in La Liga (after they failed in CL without him.)
These foreign rejects see our National Team as an opportunity to advance their careers. They use Croatia like I used to use Heather P. in the 6th grade.
@Anonymous
Stop race baiting.
People didn’t want Gregory Sertić to play for us either, and he’s whiter than Brie cheese.
Re: Eduardo and Sammir…
Eduardo was the first real case of a completely foreign born and raised player who got called up to play in our starting eleven. He didn’t come to Cro that young (he was 16), came here for professional football reasons, and he stated that Brazil was his first choice.
People warmed up to Eduardo because he was a great player, and fulfilled a need.
Sammir was disliked by many people largely because he did not fill a need for us whatsoever, and he was a Mamić player (who was blatantly pushing for a Sammir call up in the media). Sammir should have never been called up, and once he was sold (after a few NT caps) that was it. They got what they wanted.
The whole “black” thing is just an easy (and lazy) argument.
There were many reasons to justify them not getting a callup, just the same as those for Sertić, Olmo, Ibanez, Bilos, Cvitanich, etc.
BTW, I don’t even think Eduardo was even black, lol.
There is no difference between this Spanish kid (Dani Olmo) and Eduardo and Sammir playing for us.
I was against Eduardo and Sammir playing for us, just as I am this Olmo kid.
I prefer Croatians to represent our National team, and not guys who became citizens only because of their footballer careers.
Now, I’m not that passionate about this view, so I don’t really care if Dani Olmo suits up for us or not (assuming he fills a need)… But if we want to be taken seriously as an elite footballing nation, then we need to stay away from the whole ‘rent a Brazilian’ tactic that weaker footballing nations use.
We have tons of talent which can take us to the next level. We don’t need to taint our progress by using foreign footballers who happen to play in our league.
http://www.espn.com/soccer/club/liverpool/364/blog/post/3306373/mohamed-salah-and-joe-gomez-star-dejan-lovren-culpable-in-derby-draw
This video of Klopp defending Lovren’s penalty is awesome.
Definitely a horrible call against Lovren, but his haters are jumping all over him. I am not a fan of Lovren, but I can’t even describe that as a soft foul…it wasn’t a foul at all.
Ask yourself, do we really want Spain’s rejects?
Hell no. So he can bitch & moan (like Edweirdo) when we don’t play him during a Nations League game in his home country?
That was me above as anonymous. Sorry cpu is messed. Also we would need stricter rules on who can and can’t play for Cro. The UK has strict rules.

@ Adame – I agree with the shit talk remark but I think that’s the whole point. Eduardo came to Cro when he was young, played for us etc ended up with the NT and some people still didn’t like it. If this Spanisn kid ends up on the Nt would you be bothered? Should other Croats be bothered? Even Sammir (wasn’t crazy about the guy) played for the Nt. I could be wrong but I don’t we sped up the citizenship process to get him his papers.
Is there any difference in this Spanish kid playing for us vs Eduardo or Sammir? If so, what’s the difference and why does it matter?
Not taking sides here, just trying to have an insightful discussion. I think too many people are afraid to say why they truly didn’t want Eduardo or Sammir on the Nt and that would make the discussion easier. No one has to agree but there can’t be a discussion if either party is unwilling to come clean with their reasoning behind their decision.
Sorry for the duplicates iPad is fucked up
Dannyj
Not sure what race has to do with it. It’s ok cause he will be a citizen and wants to rep croatia. If it was a race thing then Sammir and Eduardo would’ve never played. Race has nothing to do with anything except shit talk

It was on the other thread
He played for Barca youth and Spanish youth. Must have some skill
Like I questioned in other thread is this ok cause he is white? I am of the opinion I want our boys to play but if he goes through all the hoops and wants to play and is good enough then so be it
Says he is a versatile forward online
Anyone hear about this Spanish kid whose playing for Dinamo? Apparently he’s trying to get Croatian citizenship to play for the repka

Good story about legendary toronto metros croatia when they won the north American championship in the nasl..brings back memories watching pele..toronto blizzard .
Lovren whistled for a verrrrrry soft pen
Mr black… where does krovinovic natural place come? Where do U try him for us?
The good thing bout the older guys retiring will really get a chance to see what is what with the kids
Say modric rakitic corluka retire after World Cup… who becomes our leader/captain?
Why can’t we have a young guy like him coming up in LB position
Anyways he looks aggressive and confident in his highlights but what’s the danish league like overall? Couldn’t imagine it being better then the HNS but still kid looks hungry.
This momak has potential. could drive competition among right back position

I don’t think it was a penalty but lovren playing with the clumsy defending
You guys think that penalty was lovrens fault??
Any love for Lovren? Maybe from Rooney, who got to pad his stats from Lovren’s penalty.
Worst part is, the goal eliminated any chance to see Vlasic to see ANY action.
Pjaca not on Juve’s roster yet, but scored again for the 2nd team. Call the young man up already!
Mr. Black-bravo for being first to post an accurate assessment of Mandzukic’s performance. I’m beginning to realize many on this site make an assessment based upon their pre-existing personal hatred, not based upon a solid soccer analysis.
Other than Handanovic & Cuadrano, he might have been motm.
I’ve watched Juventus vs Inter. Mandzukic was brilliant. Okay, he missed some chances but he dominated his left wing.
Perisic and Brozovic were awful and I say this as a huge fan.
Krovinovic played 90 minutes for Benfica again and scored in their 3-1 win. Dalic should really give this guy a shot in our national team.
I don’t think u understand natural……when crosses are coming in and players are defending in the channel why do they put their hands behind their back……extended is not natural for any “position or interception”
The Juve players arm was in a natural position for the type of interception he was performing. That is the rule. It was not deliberate. Ball to hand. No penalty.
Checkout some Cro music.
http://invictus.kreativisti.org/
That’s not my issue…..I know it shouldn’t have been outstretched……..is diving in and going to the ground “natural”
@Idemo
The player dove in and was going to ground, where do you think his hand should have been?
Ball to hand is true when ur hand is at a natural position….mans hand was extended
@idemo
no way dude that would have been so harsh
Ball to hand. No pen.
Inter should have had a pen
mandzo could have had 4 goals already just cant finish lol
real madrid win 5-0
