Joe Sakic & Luc Robitaille Rule !!! Go KINGS Go !!!
@Mihovil – Ha, You have no idea how much I love and respect Lemieux. Not only do I consider him one of the greatest players in the game, he is such an outstanding person. He is a god in Pittsburgh. He had such a hand in saving the Penguin’s franchise from leaving the city and has done so much charity it’s crazy. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him once and he is the nicest guy. Also have had the pleasure of seeing him play many times as well. He plays a different game out there.
Joe Sakic is another player I grew up idolizing. Those two are some of the most classiest athletes out there. Glad we can agree on that ha.
@Colin O’Haravić
The Habs. Sakić je Kralj !!!!
Colin, the best player I ever saw play was Mario Lemieux. Second on the list might as well go home. A long story short, back in the day my buddy lived in a condo that a few NHL’ers were living in and my buddy used to take care of their stuff when they were out of town. Anyhew, they would leave two tickets every time Mario was in town. I had the pleasure of watching him play many many times and I have not seen anyone that good before or since. It was a joke how good he was compared to the others out there. When he came back to win the scoring title the 92-93 season when he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma I could not believe it!
I met him @ a hockey tournament last year and he was a pleasure to talk to and he is a class act all the way and so is Sakić.
@Tom
I quit a long time ago. Next time I will add it to the list though.
🙂
Artest oh sorry META what the fu– am i thinking ,needs to go !!! He names himself PEACE but he looks like he wants to start a war when he is playing . Trouble is written all over his face. Bynum seems to be like a spoiled kid . Parking in handicapped spots is crule!!! Just because U make Big $, U dont have to be a jerk to the average joe & for Kobe , he thinks his s– t dont stink. I love the Lakers but the son of Dr. Buss needs to wake up & make some changes !!! Make us proud of our LAKERS !!! PLEASE !!! Bog , Hrvati , i Hajduk !!!
@the anonymous 1,
Fisher was not underrated thats for sure. Yes, he sucked this year and will suck the rest of his 2 – 12 month career. Lakers did him dirty by cutting him loose for a role player just so they dont have to pay his 5 mil salary next year. Owners son getting stingy.
@Alen,
I said….
“Lakers will probably lose in the second round. With a little luck, they make the Western finals. Mike Brown doesn’t have a clue.”
you said…
“Denis always tells me that Lakers are bound to make a huge run but now he says their lucky to make it out of 2nd round if anything. Man what’s going on with people being hypocritical these days?”
I never said lakes would win the championship. If healthy and firing on all cylinders going into the playoffs, I think they can come out of the west. With Kobe banged up, Bynum banged up, Artest out for who knows how long, and Brown as a puppet coach, Lakers will get rocked in the second or third round. What is hypocritical about that?
Lakers-OKC was fixed. Jordan Hill, Ron Artest, and Steve Blake star for the Lakers while Durant and Westbrook shoot a combined 10-50….. Lakers win with Bynum riding the bench the entire 4th and 2 overtimes… haha.. ya right.. I dont even need King Bronk for this one… Even Durant and Coach Brown had a chuckle in the second overtime.
Novi Uniforme slabo Very no good
@ Mihovil , U forgot one more thing . Marlboro !
@ Allen
No one is asking you to become a master of the Croatian language here, but using Google Translate wouldn’t hurt for such simple terms as “mali hrvat”
mali = small
hrvat = I hope you know what that means at least…
that is all.
@ The Anonymous 1
If the Knicks could somehow swing a trade for Nash and make a true tandem of him and Lin, I think it would make the Knicks a top 5 team in the NBA. Nash lives in NY, he plays in a soccer league here in the city, could team back up with Amare and would just be a perfect fit here in the Big Apple. I’d bring him on for 2 years and expect realistically one more and let him mentor the shit outta Lin.
Sorry I don’t watch every Tottenham game, I have a life sorry Mali whatever the hell that means Hrvati. GTFO
Denis always tells me that Lakers are bound to make a huge run but now he says their lucky to make it out of 2nd round if anything. Man what’s going on with people being hypocritical these days?
Jeremy Lin won’t play in the first round, it’s all but confirmed. Knicks-Heat would be a pretty tight series that can go to six but that’s about it. Knicks are a dangerous team but they struggle at rebounding and can play too sloppy to put together four wins against a team like the Heat. They can take the Pacers though so get that 6th seed.
LOL yeah go tell D-Rose to get healthy to have any shot of beating my Heat.
My Bulls will make the finals.
too many chiefs not enough indians
Growing up who didn’t like watching LAL.(depends how old you are) Magic leading the way having the entire crowd in the palm of his hands with his razzle dazzle showtime entourage. The closest thing we ever saw to that was the run and gun Phoenix Suns, and they were far far away from even being close to the showtime era of the LAL.
I dont like Kobe. Can he play ball? You bet your ass he can play. He’s got a few more good years left in him even though his explosivness is not there as it once was, but thats father time for you. I guess I hate Kobe, not so much LAL? Still wish them an early exit in the playoffs!
@Dennis
Derick Fisher? are you kidding me? Those should of been tears of joy when LA dumpt him. If ever there was an over rated player, than Fisher was it.
Didn’t he not want to report to Houston when LA traded him?
Cant stand when pro athletes do that. I would make them all sit at home without pay. Why even trade for a shmuck if the shmuck doesn’t want to play for your organization?
@ARMADA
The knicks have too many indians and not enough cheifs! Steve Nash would be an ideal pick up for the knicks in the off season. Would automatically make them a contender and would be great for Lin to learn from. I actually hope he takes his talents to South Beach
@ Denis
I feel you on the whole Kobe thing. For years and years, I couldn’t stand Kobe but like you mentioned, the dude can ball and ball hard. I think he matured a lot in the last 5-6 years and while he still does make an off color comment or two, the dude is a tried and tested leader, with a bunch of rings. Even with not a lot of gas left in the tank, I think every GM in the league would take him in a heartbeat still.
Ron-Ron really is a headcase though. The Lakers are all playing that “hey, he’s a changed dude” card. Bullshit. Once a nutjob, always a nutjob, I say. I remember a few years back I was hoping he’d come back home (he grew up right outside of Astoria) to play for the Knicks. Thank god that never went down.
My Knicks have been straight killing it lately. Melo? Enough said. If the Knicks can somehow snag that 6 spot, win their first round series and play Chicago/Miami in the Conference Final with a starting 5 containing a healthy Lin, Melo, Chandler and STAT? Allen, watch out bro – I know the Heat have firepower and all, but if we march out a lineup with those guys and a bench of Novak, Smith, Fields, Davis, etc. I ‘ll never guarantee a Knick series win, but that series would be a dogfight, if everyone is healthy.
@Mihovil – hahaha “but at least we agree and like the HNS, pićka, rakia, i pivo!” Add Joe Sakic to that list and you hit it right on the nose! So who is your team in the NHL?
@Curt,
The NBA nixed the CP3 trade because they just had a discussion with the owners about avoiding another Bosh and Lebron to Miami. The NBA doesnt want more than 2 superstars on one team. That is why the NBA, which owned the Hornets at the time because they filed for bankruptcy, nixed the deal. Hornets actually had a better deal from the Lakers.
@The anonymous 1,
Im a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge lakers fan. However, I’m not a fan of the current Lakers players. Ever Lakers fan shed a tear after management dumped Fisher like he was Luke Walton.
I was never a Kobe fan, but dude can ball. Even Jordan said himself that Kobe is the only player that can be compared to him. Kobe is a dick, but he’s somewhere #8 all time greatest players.
Ron Artest is embarrassing this great organization. I hope he gets suspended for the rest of the playoffs and the Lakers cut him. What a clown. Stern will give him 5 games.
Lakers will probably lose in the second round. With a little luck, they make the Western finals. Mike Brown doesn’t have a clue.
http://www.joe.ie/euro-2012/euro-2012-news/video-if-irish-fans-werent-already-afraid-of-nikica-jelavic-we-should-be-now-0023808-1
@Curt
The Lakers used to be the cream of the crop in the NBA. Now they take a back seat to the Heat, Bulls, OKC, and even the aging Spurs. I know they are 3rd in the confrence but come playoff time I really dont see any team being afraid to play LAL. They dont have a snowballs chance in hell to win in the post season.
As to your comment that I dont know jack! All I know is that LAL are shit this year, and will be shit next year and will be shit the year after etc…
As good as Kobe is, he is desending on the downward slide in his career. Bynum injury prone. World “bang my chest like donkey kong and give cheap elbow shots” Peace, well I think enough said on that majmun. Who’s left? Gasol, another aging piece. Enjoy The Lake Show Biatch!
@Ivica:
LOL, I feel exactly the same way about American football in the US.
Hockey doesn’t offend me because I see more parallels with soccer and it is not as poplar where I live.
@Colin O’Haravić
“So he’s a wus if he doesn’t fight, and you say he’s a crybaby when he does fight.”
That has nothing to do with it. It was his antics leading up to the fight. It’s him hacking away @ Bryzgalov’s glove for over an hour while he has the puck frozen like a big sucky baby.
“I don’t get you people. and he broke his stick on the net a FEW YEARS AGO??? Oh arrest him NOW!”
It is a suck maneuver and a penalty of unsportsmanlike conduct. At least it should have been. My point was because of who he is, there is no penalty called on the play as Cindy is Bettman’s Golden boy. Than when he gets to the bench his loquaciousness towards the refs really kicks in and he goes nonstop like it is his job!
Joe Sakic was the man as he was pure class! You’re right Colin, this is probably not the place but at least we agree and like the HNS, pićka, rakia, i pivo!
🙂
Ha @ Mihovil – Nothing wrong with talking about him. I could do this all day, just might not be the right place. But a fight? at a HOCKEY game? So he’s a wus if he doesn’t fight, and you say he’s a crybaby when he does fight. I don’t get you people. and he broke his stick on the net a FEW YEARS AGO??? Oh arrest him NOW! I saw a player do that LAST NIGHT during the Blues-Sharks game. Anyone still talking about that?
He’s a 50 goal scorer. If you think he’s a crybaby, oh well. I’ll take everything else he’s done for the team any day.
Anonymous 1 , Are u kidding me , that the Lakers suck ? 3rd place in the Westen confrence doesnt seam to suck to me !!! U dont know jack , Pizda !!!
Mihovil go write a book . Damm
@”The Anonymous 1″
“I can see why you and everyone else thinks Crosby is a crybaby. The best hockey player on the planet sticks up for himself, not affraid to take shit from others, oh and did I mention he’s the best player on the planet. Thats why everyone thinks that way of him because he’s the best hockey player in the world and people dont like seeing him being the best and being in peoples face if he has too. Crosby wouldn’t be that way if he had a Semenko on his team. Thats the Penguings problem they dont have anyone to protect their stars. Have to admit though, he did jack in these playoffs.”
I never said he was not a good hockey player. What I am saying is he is a champion whiner and a suck. It is deplorable how much of a suck and a whiner he is and I tell my nephew not to act that way on the ice and I always will.
Why does he need Semenko because another whiner like Gretzky needed him?
“@Miholvil – Crybaby? He was 18 his rookie year and might have been then, but now? You’re crazy. He’s the first to admit that he didn’t handle the media well back then but you cannot say anything about him now. That’s the only argument any Crosby hater has now. You still think he’s the same kid from six yrs ago. Get over it. He is the best in the league.
Cannot say anything about him now? Apparently I am crazy? Did you watch game three? Yep, crazy for calling it like it is and being rational about it. All this guy does on the ice is whine and complain and suck out. It is his job!
Facts:
– Crosby said he did not like any guy on the Flyers team during an after game interview. If that is not a sucky unclassy comment I do not know what is?
-His game three exploits were the most unclassy suck maneuvers I have witnessed in quite some time. Crosby was the catalyst for at least two altercations in a Game 3. Pushing away the glove of Jakub Voracek, leading to a fight with Claude Giroux; and later getting into it with Scott Hartnell before Craig Adams rushed in for the save, earning a 1-game suspension for instigating. Than after the game he says, “I don’t like them, because I don’t like any guy on their team.” He was not 18 years old in game three.
-Smashing and shattering his stick, which is a penalty by the way which was not called, against the opposing goalies net when they played against the Habs a few years ago in the Playoffs for just something to do is clearly a suck maneuver.
-I never said he was not a good hockey player. Go to my original comment.
Why is it that when I say he is a suck and a whiner, which he is, everyone has to reply how great a player he is? Great talented player of course but a massive suck and a crybaby. He does whatever he wants to do out there and the league protects him.
The bottom line is:
1 – Crybaby Crosby is a huge massive suck and a whiner. It cannot be debated.
2 – Never once did I say he was not a good hockey player and in my initial post I said please don’t tell me how great of a player he is on the comments back. As a result of him having talent and being a good player it does not make it acceptable to act the way he does.
“Why are we talking about Crosby anyway? haha”
http://croatiansports.com/?p=8181
Why is it fine for you to talk about Pittsburgh and not fine for me to talk about Crosby?
Rookie of the Month October 2005, Mark Messier Leadership Award Jan. 2007, 2010?!?!? haha
@IvicA
LOL !!! Sorry dude!
Ivica, out of curiousity, what is “your” starting lineup for our next friendly against Estonia?
Ugh. Please delete any posts that mention hockey.
Living in Canada with all the puckheads is agony enough. The fact that every sports highlight show is 80% hockey, 10% curling, and 10% everything else is brutal, leaving websites like this one as the only refuge.
Why are we talking about Crosby anyway? haha

You don’t win all that if you’re not the best. Man. My hatred for Philly is unmatched right now. Can’t wait to see them go down in the next round.
just too throw my two cents about all you Laker fans!! I couldnt be happier that they SUCK this year. Frankly I thought they would suck even more. They aint doin squat in the playoffs!! Kobe couldnt hold MJ’s jock strap. Shouldnt even be compared to his Airness. Just glad they wont be winning any championships this year and hopefully in years to come
@Mihovil,
I can see why you and everyone else thinks Crosby is a crybaby. That’s what a DVR is for. Its Ok I threw up in my mouth a little for you.
Does anyone else think Wayne Rooney should get a refund on his hairplugs?
@ Denis . I do not think the NBA takes care of the Lakers , just look at how they blocked the Cris Paul trade to us !!! Politica I think . The Lakers & Boston have won to many titles . They want to give the other big city teams a shot , like the Clippers , etc. @ Tom I wish the Galaxy get 1 or 2 Hrvati to play for them . It would be Great for the L.A. Area Croatian Fans . Da Bog Da !!!
I didn’t see because I had better things to do on Saturday then watch lackluster Tottenham game.
Jelavic on fire!!!!! – Vatreno ludilo kad krene, Vatreno!
Mamic is telling the media that Bilic is leaving after the Euros and he has thrown the name Branko Ivankovic as the replacement. I hope this is not going to happen!
You know it’s a good day when Cindy “CryBaby” Crosby gets knocked out of the playoffs! LOL !!!!!! Yes I was born in Canada and yes he is still a CryBaby regardless of that fact! Sweet!
Please do not respond with how great a player he is. He is a terrific player! His ability is not in question and that is a given. However, he is one of the biggest sucks in sports history as well and his ability as a player has nothing at all to do with his crybaby suck attitude. Oh, and he is overrated as well. Allow me to explain.
He won a Stanley Cup in seven games in 2009. He manages to score 3 points in 7 games in that series. The best player in the world?????? And, he does not even play half of game seven and Malkin ends up winning the MVP. Talbot wins game seven for Pittsburgh, not Crosby.
Olympic Gold 2010 – He scores the OT winner against the United States. Coming from someone born in Canada, that was great, super, fine and dandy. He was invisible the entire game though. The game before that against Slovakia he was invisible as he was the game previous against the Russians. The MVP of the tournament was Jonathan Toews and deservedly so. Someone will say he was clutch for Canada. Sure, but where was he all game? If he was so great his team would not have done been in the predicament of OT to begin with.
I apologize for the Cindy Crosby rant. When I take my nephew to his hockey games and I watch the playoffs with him I make sure to drill into his head not to act like this crybaby individual. I hope he understands what I am trying to teach him.
Either way it is a good day!
🙂
@mali Hrvat,
Yes, I was stunned to see the big goon myself. You are right, he probably suspected that I was Croatian or from some slavic country.
@the anonymous 1,
No, I didnt tell Vlade that I was Croatian.
Security at JFK recognized him right away. They were joking around saying “Thats Vlade Divac, played for the Lakers… how will he pass security?” Surprisingly, no one knew who he was. Vlade went through security a few minutes after I did.
@Curt,
Was that lakers-OKC game set up or what? OKC runs the Lakers out of town and then hits the breaks, shooting bricks like the NJ Nets the rest of the game. Im not buying it for a second, but I will take the W and 3rd in the west. NBA takes care of the Lakers.
I said if Jelavic can score against United he will be good to go for Euro. Jelavic has to bee the top striker in the NT line-up. As far as I am concerned, Eduardo should join Petric and Kalinic on the couch to watch the tournament with the rest of us.
Olic DOES speak English, most of our NT does, even guys who never played in England (Dujmovic, Srna)
Klasnic will return to Germany, with his hometown club St. Pauli. He has said this many times, he wants to end his career there
@Denis:
Good work, but I am sure Divac suspected you were a Croat. First of all you know who Vrankovic is and additionally you look Slavic.
What an odd coincidence you ran into him.
Lakers WIN 114-106 in 2 OT . Great comeback from 18 pts down vs. OKC . Fala bogu !!!
@Tom:
LA already has 3 designated players. I suppose the can get a never will be from the HNL.
Chivas seems to be more Cro friendly.
@Wallace:
We already went over this. Croatian and Serbian are similar, but different languages. If you can read one, you can’t read the other, additionally words for common items are completely different. You already know this, so enough with the BS. I don’t know about the rest of you, but Cyrillic gives me a headache.
Re Bayern:
Olic should have had an assist and goal(poor performance on his part). The B squad of Bayern could be a good team if they played together consistently. Pranjic and Olic were taken out about he 64′ minute mark. Pranjic played alright in the middle of the park and had a nice freekick from about 40 yards from goal.
Did anyone see the Lyon game?
Bolton is careening towards relegation with QPR beating Spurs. Where will Klasnic wind up? Retirement, HNL?
@Allen:
You must be happy. Barton left the field wearing Modric’s jersey.
Petrovic knew the score about Divac. That should be your biggest clue that he is a cretan.
The L.A. Galaxy need to get a Croatian player , so all the L.A. area cro’s can pack the Home Depot Center .
@Curt – Ah, it’s nothing for you to worry about. I didn’t see the game so I can’t comment much on it, but the season is pretty much over. I’m sure they will (as always) finish in second and they aren’t using all their starters to their full potential. It would just be unnecessary. All you should be worrying about is watching your Dodgers. They’re at what, 12-2 right now? Unbelievable!
@Colin , I guess your right . At least i have something to be happy about . @ Nizic , Its good to see your comment , it made me a bit happier , but we have to STOP losing to these junk teams !!!
In the 2nd leg of the ManU – Bayern 1/4-final a couple years ago, Olic and Vidic seemed to be having a friendly conversation as they walked into the tunnel at half time. As far as I know Olic doesn’t speak English and Vidic doesn’t speak German, so how were they communicating so naturally/easily?
This particular question is a sarcastic one.
Regarding the Divac produced documentary, the part when the accident scene was shown w/ Petrovic lying on the street rubbed me the wrong way. Did anyone else have a problem w/ that? cuz I didn’t see the point of showing Petrovic’s dead body in that way.
My favorite part of the documentary was the two young Croats DEFIANTLY displaying the Croatian flag on the basketball court before a yugoslavian game.
Why do so many here have such contempt for Divac? Is it b/c he “disrespected” a flag (Kukoc & Raja say that was way overblown) or are there other more significant reasons?
@Curt – Because they suck? No big secret there… And how are you in a bad mood? Your beloved L.A. teams all won.
Hajduk zivi vjecno -U-
How does our beloved Hajduk lose to these crap teams week in & out ? I am in a very bad way this weekend !!! Torcida what is going on ? Please help ME !!! 🙁
@dennis, did u tell divac you were Croatian?
Rangers may be considered a joke but Jelavic is no dark horse. He was linked with several EPL clubs for the past 18 months. Even the great Sir Alex and Man Utd were linked to Jelavic at one point. This man is a known commodity and he’s been a force to be reckon with.
Anonymous = The GoldenChild there
@AZ
Consistently? He’s almost scored a goal every week. He hasn’t been a dark horse for the past couple games bud. If you’re a coach, and you’re not looking to defend against him, you should be fired. He’s been 1 of the only 3 scoring threats on Everton since he’s come here. If somebody is scoring goals for Everton, which they couldn’t do in the beginning of the season, you have to look at that player right away.
Fuck Vlade and everything he stands for for I expect him to say the same about Hrvatska -u- although you cant take away for what he has accomplished -U-
@Ziva Istina,
Where did you hear that Vrankovic was approached for the documentary?
I agree with your reasoning.
@Denis……..that documentary was and is from Vlade’s perspective. Nothing more, nothing less. Vrankovic had an opportunity to be on it, he selected not to participate.
Most neutrals who saw it will view from Vlade’s side because they have a positive view of him from his time playing in the US, and don’t understand why yugo broke apart so they expect his viewpoint on it.
If I met Vlade, I would be intrigued and shake his hand. SHOOT ME!
good to see jelavic succeeding in the EPL. we need some players full of confidence and having club team success before euros. though i know guys can sit on the bench at their clubs and then “turn it on” for the repka, it is so much better to see them have club success before they head over for the euros. cant see how he is not a lock to start against ireland.
i like modric/rakitic/perisic in midfield. therefore, i see krancjar as a first sub off the bench for a midfielder or even possibly sitting behind the lead striker. let’s hope he gets healthy for the tourney. even though he is getting bashed a lot on here , he is talented and a good piece of the team. we dont have all this depth that we can push away some of our experienced guys. bilic loves using the experienced players so you can bet that if krancjar is healthy, he will be on the squad and will get a chance
Perisic is going to be a tough decision. Do you play him at forward or do you play him at RM. I think he is better at RM.
Damn. If Jelavic keeps this up, he’ll actually be a top-20 scorer in the EPL this season (with only 10 games played on the year). That’s not normal.
Right now, we have two forwards that have crazy form and are scoring at amazing rates: Jelavic and Perisic (Perisic is actually second on his team, only slightly behind Lewandowski in efficiency). I would love to start those two up front for the repka and see what happens.
Starting Perisic as a second striker, allows us to start Rakitic, Modric, and Srna in the midfield, having all four of them out there at the same time. Kranjcar can be the first guy off the bench as a sub for any four of these position (as he’s played them all for the repka at some point). Whoever is playing the worst out of that starting foursome can be replaced by Kranjcar at the half.
jelavic is on fire without doubt…However, will he be able to perform well for coming season consistently? Maybe the reason why he is scoring goals, is because he is practically unknown before moving to everton? The EPL defenders are unknown to his abilities…To put it simply, he is a dark horse..
Given today’s match, i think many markers will be closing him down…and this is where he has to excel in now…by moving to next level!
@Slavonac,
easy easy there buddy. Way to many F words, I have women and children on the site. Smiri zivce, kao da si dalmatinac 🙂
some good conversation on the boards this weekend. well done boys(and girls, no Ana but sheeeeeeeeeeee’ll be back).
Getting a little heated between some of you, but don’t forget that we are all on the same page here: svi svi svi svi za Hrvatsku….
I will share a little story with you guys before I start the Croatians Around Europe write up. A few weeks back, I met Vlade Divac at JFK. The best day of my life…. haha… relax relax.. obviously kidding. If I wasn’t on government property and waiting to catch a flight bija bi ga pljunija. I had to think fast if there was anything that I wanted to ask this two faced f*ck. I approached him as an american fan. Then I asked him if I can ask him a couple questions regarding the Petrovic documentary. The only thing that I wanted to know was:
1) Did he approach Stojko Vrankovic for a part in the documentary?
2) Was Stojko Drazen’s best friend?
Vlade answered this politically by saying, “yes we approached a lot of former nba players” “Stojko was a friend of Drazen’s”
Vlade looked at my like I was a little bitch. I told him that the documentary is all hollywood and isnt complete without a word from Drazen and without a word from Vrankovic. He gave me a speechless dirty look and I made my exit.
Vedran you the man for posting the links up. I just woke up and totally missed the game (bachelor party got crazy last night). I think it’s safe to say that Jelavic will be starting this summer. He’s been on a tear so much. Now I can test all of my Man Utd bandwagon fan friends that I know and say JEEELLLAVVVVICCCC
Here is a link to the Jelavic goals
http://www.3news.co.nz/VIDEO-HIGHLIGHTS-Manchester-United-Vs-Everton-4-4-Premier-League-2012/tabid/317/articleID/251386/Default.aspx
@armanda, bro you should have your own show on espn or tsn!! I’m @ work on suday..your post’s make my day bro!!
What a game between Man. United and Everton! I go to the bathroom for two minutes while the game was at 4-2 and now… 4-4!!! Geez Louise!
Looks like Jela back off to another great great start-U-
Everyone is so gung ho on Niko, should he start? is he fit and healthy? will he come off the bench? To be honest it doesnt really matter! Would I like Niko to be on the NT of course, we need depth on this team and he brings that.
Having said that I think the main focus on the NT should be Mr. Modric. He is our best and most talented player and for the NT to have any hope of getting out of this group, Modric has to step up and show why he is a world class player. If you ask me he has had a sub par season this year for both club and and NT. Any hope for Croatia this summer relies heavily on Luka Modric’s shoulders. As Modric goes so will Croatia.
@armada

There is no need to get emotional, you are better then that. You usually “associate” on these forums with the real troll.
Armada does have some credible comments, not one I would label a troll.
@AZ
Agreed.

Armada , Write a book 87
We’re a lucky team to have so many quality offensively-geared midfielders.
Aside from our starting defensive midfielder, we get to choose any three of Modric, Kranjcar, Srna, Perisic, and Rakitic to start.
The only challenge is figuring out which three play the starting positions best, have the most chemistry with one another, and can provide the best spark off the bench.
It’s a good problem to have.
Here’s my question:
1. Of the 5 midfielders above, which three do you start at LM, CM & RM?
2. Which one is the first off the bench?
@Ante B – Where did you find the game?? And yeah. Totally agree with you about Pivaric. I had a hard time liking him earlier this year and was never pleased with him starting, but the past few months or so realllllly proved my wrong. That kid has a future.
@Ziva
No homer glasses here. I always hope Croatia wins, but I’m no fool. I understand when we have a poor chance of winning. I know we like to bash our players, c’mon you guys are acting like this isn’t a top ten team. Lets see, is it far fetched to believe they will make it out of group, Spain is a great team, Ireland sucks, period. And Italy is good and so are we, I believe we are actually better than Italy, therefore, I believe we will make it out of group stage.
Im watching the Dinamo-Rijeka game. Main conclusion: Pivaric will be the next big thing out of Dinamo along with Kovacic. Fucking, wow.
Armada Armada Armada!!! I can’t wait to meet this guy, he’s very brilliant with these thoughts. I’m happy that more people are speaking out how much of a joke the HNL is. I’m a huge Kranjcar fan but I admit that he’s flawed. Unless he out plays Perisic and Rakitic in the friendlies, how can he merit a start?
@ Dukic
A joke like my team? Aren’t you one of the hillybilly, pro ustasa, trash bags on this site? On top of that, who’s your team in the HNL? Dinamo, Hajduk? Talk about jokes. The entire league is a fuckin joke.
Yes, technically, Niko is one of the best we produced. But c’mon, he’s letting his career go down the shitter. Yes, we can play the Ziva Istina card and say he’s comfortable in London, carved out a life for himself and family and collects a nice paycheck for sitting on the pine. Some folks might think that’s ok and commendable, not me. I lost some respect for him the past few years. I know some folks on here are Niko homers, not me.
@Slavonac
Dude, do you actually watch games? Or do you just watch clips on the internet and troll around football forums? I like Niko Kranjcar. I don’t have a personal vendetta against him. Shit, I hope he goes to the Euro and plays the best month of football in his life! I guess I just hold Niko to a higher standard than most. Before there was a Luka Modric, Niko was suppose to be the next great one and truth be told, he’s been hot and cold for club and NT. Currently, these are the facts: he’s hardly been getting any time at Spurs, he’s been hot and cold for the NT and he’s had trouble with injuries for the past year. I wish that wasn’t the case, but those are the indisputable facts. I don’t know why everyone has a raging boner for Niko all of a sudden now? Even as a bench player, Niko would be missed at the Euro.
To the rest, to clarify on choosing Rakitic over Kranjcar. It’s quite simple. Rakitic has been seeing more first team football at Sevilla (which Niko hasn’t), is more accountable defensively (which Niko isn’t), is our 2nd best set piece taker (Niko is a good set piece taker, I’d rate Ivan better) and he has better pace and speed. All in all, Rakitic is more versatile than Kranjcar. Of course I’d want Niko at the Euro, but I would have him as the first midfielder off the bench, with Ivica Olic being the first striker off the bench.
So Slavonac, since you’re are the grand master of all things Croatian football, what’s your reasoning then for having Niko Kranjcar start then? Since I obviously have no idea what I’m talking about and you’re just a soccer prodigy..
Jarac…..u sound like a guy who will always say cro will get out of the group regardless of who we play. Which is fine, but you lose credibility by being a homer. You are correct, nobody could have imagined 1998, that is what makes sports so great. While nobody could have imagined 1998, plenty of us did imagine 2002, 2004, 2006.
Regarding Kranjcar….anytime you lose a player like him it hurts our depth. We are not a deep team and if he can’t go that means we will have to rely on players that are inexperienced and quite frankly not up to playing at the international level. Plus, who cares if kranjcar is fat or not fat, his mistress doesn’t seem to care. Not sure if his wife cares since she is out of the picture with their kid.
“Kranjcar played a key role in Croatia’s qualification campaign, finishing as his country’s top scorer, and his absence in Poland would be keenly felt”
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/sport/2012/0421/1224315008925.html
This goes to show how important kranjcar is despite being unfit…
O
Angels Win 6-3 . Its about time !!!
Niko is very talented and technically gifted. He’s just playing at the wrong club and definitely the wrong league. many croats dont fit the epl – its too rough too fast. He wont run from one side of the pitch to the other as rednap wants, but do you see Kaka doing that aswell. Niko can be seen to be absent in midfield but he has the knack to pop up from nowhere.
First, we all know who our best player is, lets not pretend that we don’t. That is Modric and yes he is the best technical player as well. Kranjcar is good technically I still see him as a starter for Cro, under the terms that he has produced for the national team, even though his playing time is sparse. Second off to all of you non believers, don’t even put on a jersey. It’s easy to say yea were gonna loose, thats the easy way out. How many of u bastards thought we would do what we did in ’98, nobody did. So, too all of u who like to bash cro, like we don’t stand a chance, remeber what Jarac is saying right now. We will make it out of our group!
Uvijek Vjerni
Perisic is very talented sooner or later will have a big impact for Croatia. As for Krancar great player unlucky at Spurs will shine again for Croatia and for me is just as good as Vandervart.
Lakers get nailed 121 to 97 by the Spurs . NO Defence at all .
Dodgers Win . 11 – 3 record . Best in MLB !!!
Marky Mark – well said!
I think Niko should still start ahead of Perisic, but these friendlies should help sort out the midfield debate.
Niko’s superb footwork and monster shot make up for his lack of speed. Like said above, he is one of the most skilled players on the team. I just hope Modric plays for us like he does for Tottenham because i don’t think he’s done anything spectacular with the NT thus far.
New uniforme NO GOOD
Niko was criticized for his weight when his dad was coaching, but I don’t see anything to warrant those claims now. I’m still hoping he comes back and is able to at least fill the bench role so many of you thought he should be playing before this injury.
To refine my point: there is no debate for the Domivinski Rat. There are pointa of debate surrounding it (was Vukovar sold, war profiting, mafia, etc) but never the war itself.
This is bullshit. We dont talk about the Domovinski Rat because there was nothing to talk about: it was either Hrvatska or Jugo. Imamo Hrvatsku, slobodna je. WW2 however is still up for debate. I prije nego kaj pitas, da, bio sam u jugi ko klinjo i nisam nosio stafetu niti petokraku

Kranjcar pudgy haha!! Im sorry everyone has to have a six pack and be super skinny for them to qualify Armada. I agree with you that Niko shouldn’t start unless he does something off the bench against Ireland or Italy or possibly even in the friendlies but don’t hate on that guy that much. Niko isn’t pudgy at all. He simply doesn’t fit the system.
DOK JE BIJA TITO BILO JE I TRAVE I SITA,A SAD SU DOSLE OVE PIZDE NEMAN NI ZA RIZLE
@ Nizic did you live in jugoslavija?
Armada – sorry to say this but you have very little knowledge about this game and your comments about Kranjcar are embarassing..tele! None of what you have said has any merit to it and if I was a moderator I’d delete your post for the mere fact that you are making yourself look like a wannabe soccer commentator but you should clearly focus more on being a student of the game!
Niko is 27 – prime years for a soccer player. Every single player in this world plays differently under a different coach and system…Kranjcar has a different role at his club team and is utilized differently…he was amazing in several games last year and in the recent past at Portsmouth…he doesnt fit in well with Hotspurs…so what? He is still a very good player (not amazing but very good) whom I think has done more for the NT midfield than most…yes, most over these past 5 years!
Pudgy? – you’re nuts! you have some serious challenges…wtf has Rakitic done for you to call him better talent? I like Rakitic…but you are saying he is better…really…how…what am I missing?
@armada87
youre a joke just like your team.
technically probably the best player we have after prosinecki. he would dominate in italy. epl is all about speed. thats why there are more crnci then anything. nikos best position is behind the striker. and he hasnt played that in a while now.
Niko Kranjcar isn’t a bit pudgy? Do any of you watch him play in the EPL or for the NT? Granted, he’s older now but compare a pic of him from 5 years ago and a pic from his most recent game. You can see it in his face and midsection. Let’s take off those Croatian homer glasses and open our eyes.
I am Not worried about the attack its our defense that is weak bilic cant get it right it was eay for euro 2008 but now its o man. People who shit on Strinic at left back Could it be because of Kranjcar Playing on The left and who ever play left back with kranjcar at LM is introuble, kranjcar is slow and cant back track just saying, id go with Vida Carli Joe Strinic at the back becaus vida defends well even if hes a cb or dm. If Srna was alittle better at defending id put him on RB but better not take a chance so From what i read this morning the euro preview our obrana can look like the following Srna Lovren Joe Carli-,/Carli Lovren Joe Strinic-/,Srna Carli Lovren Strinic-/Vida Scifo Joe Carli-/Carli Joe Scifo Strinic-/Vida Carli Joe Pranjic.-/Carli Vida Lovren Strinic
I have never see Kranjcar overweight ever. Whoever thinks he’s overweight is crazy, the fact is that Kranjcar has been exposed for his lack of speed. He’s simply not a winger and that’s what has hurt him. He wasn’t going to start though so I agree with Armada on that but overweight? He’s just slow and gets exposed for his flaws. Rakitic and Perisic were ahead in the pecking order. The friendlies will settle the debate between those two. Whoever plays better will start it’s quite simple. Perisic would be a really interesting start and I’d be intrigued by him.
Does anyone have any authentic Croatia jersey websites to go to? I know two sites but I want an option where I can pick whatever name I want on the back. It’s always nothing or Modric and I already have a Modric one.
I like niko to he shows good work ethic and would love to see him come off the bench in a supporting roll -U-
@ Dukic
King of what? The pine? or maybe the hospital room? Certainly not the pitch, moj prijatelj…
e moji ljudi ne znate vi nogomet. kranjcar je kralj.
@ Ziva
But is that Niko’s secret? Get a little overweight and out of form, get injured and then come to the NT and kill it? Yeah, he’s done that before, but how many times can he really pull it off? I don’t see it happening. I think we have better, all around talent ahead of him now (Rakitic, Perisic) in the pecking order.
I like Niko too, and he will be used if he dresses. Even if he’s just coming off the bench, he brings a lot of skill and experience.
How can he be our most talented player when he doesn’t start for his club…. I think he’s done..thx for the memories Niko!
if nikos on the bench we are screwed. he is our most talented player.
@ Ante B Thankyou my proud hrvatski prijatel , it looks like we have person that is ashamed of himself not producing a name entering a CROATIAN website and in my opinion needs to be taught some self pride Za dom i _-U- vik spreman
Anonymous,
Nizic is focusing on soccer. What are you referring to? The U? Does it bother you?
@ Nizic
Focus on soccer.
actually, Kranjcar has produced for the repka in previous situations when not playing for a long time or coming back from injury. I have no clue if he will play at the Euros, but that will be in the back of Bilic’s mind. He has produced in similar circumstances.
Niko wasn’t going to be starting any games this summer for us. Supposedly he’ll be healed by the time training camp rolls around. I wouldn’t mind Niko in a sub role for us to give us different looks vs. Spain and Italy, but I wouldn’t want him to start in any 3 of the group games. Coming off an injury + being out of form for ages + hardly used by Spurs = no thanks.
Jeben Titin grob -U- All I want and will be very happy with for our boys to take out the zabari and to enter the quarters if anything else comes after that is just gravey in my book I think it could easily be done but Bilic has to be focused and know who to start mainly Perisic Ilicivic Jela Ola Dudu and we also need a Klasnic Bog i Hrvati -U-
http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2012/04/20/3049397/tottenham-lose-kranjcar-for-the-season
Our first player in starting 11 is injured for rest of season…
Will the rest follow suit? Lets pray for all our NT players fit…in particular modric and pletikosa
Bog, Hrvati, i Hajduk !!!
