The Andrej Kramarić vs. Bruno Petković debate will be an interesting one amongst Croatian fans in 2020 – and even though both have been producing in recent months – one striker plays in Germany while the other plays in the Croatian Prva Liga. Kramarić scored a wonderful header in the 87th minute to beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1. Kramarić played the ball outside to Hoffenheim teammate Sargis Adamyan and ran quickly to the middle of the penalty box to receive the crossing; cooly heading it into the bottom-right corner of the net.
If Kramarić continues to play like this, the Vatreni will be in great shape come Euro 2020!
Kramarić Goal @ 2:50
Kovačić gives the ball back to Willian for the goal
Kovačić got the start for Chelsea and played 68 minutes in a 2-0 victory over Spurs Sunday night. Kovačić was given credit for an assist on Willian’s opening strike even though the Croatian didn’t do much except pass the ball back following a corner. Kova is heating up with Chelsea this season and was a given a ‘7-grade’ vs. Tottenham from SkySports as he “delivered a couple of exquisite through-balls as Chelsea dominated from the first minute. His second-half withdrawal was a tad surprising, but Jorginho’s introduction meant the visitors continued to command the ball as they played down time.”
Atalanta and European journeyman Mario Pašalić thumped AC Milan 5-0 Sunday; giving Milan their worst defeat in over 21 years. Pašalić is still owned by Chelsea but seems to have found a true home at Atalanta this season. Pašalić scored against Milan with a slight deflection and assisted in their win, which moved the club only four points behind a Champions League berth. Pašalić also hit the crossbar with a blistering shot. Croatia van definitely use him off the bench in 2020 if he plays like this.
Atalanta Match Highlights vs. AC Milan
In other news, Ante Rebić is being completely wasted by AC Milan this season. He rides the bench nearly every game of a club that is sinking faster than the Titanic. Rebić needs to get out of his loan spell in Milan ASAP. Luka Modrić played the full 90 minutes as Real Madrid played out a scoreless draw against Athletic Bilbao Sunday; dropping them two points behind leaders Barcelona.
Thanks for that Maminjo
That explains where he gets his good looks from haha
^
Croats are wannabe Americans.
You know what sucks about Croatia? All that stupid grafetti that i see in Zagreb , Split, and Zadar. Sramota! Do these assholes think they are in the South Bronx?
@Anonymous
Well it’s a good thing we have someone with pro football experience such as yourself, clearing this up for us on the comments section of a Croatian Sports website.
Suba
His father Cesare Maldini is Slovenian.
He was born in Trieste during the Italianization period, so anyone with a Slav name had to change it.
During that time, barely 50% of Trieste’s population even spoke Italian, about 10-15% were actually Italian citizens and over 25% were ethnic Slovenian.
I just joke around that he’s Croatian because his apparent birth name was Mladič, which can’t be Slovenian (it’s either Croatian or Serbian, and due to the proximity of Trieste to Croatia, likely Croatian).
Lots of Italian sources claim this, but it’s obviously a touchy subject.
What you “Croats” don’t get is that players play for money, that is the main thing players think about, the game is secondary.
Imagine Rebic and Jovic stayed at Eintracht, where could they be now with Bayern and Dortmund both looking far from dominant? They’re not thinking about that, they’re thinking about the money they’re making and not fucking playing time.
You guys have never played at the highest level though that’s why you don’t understand the players.
Maldini is not half Croat
Never heard that
Boban is not a miracle worker he’s quite aware that ACs screwed and it’s gonna take time to rebuild
Rebic should have never joined he should return to Germany and resurrect his career if he wants to continue to play for the repka
@Rafael
Imagine they sign Ibra and Mandzo?
That would give them some bite…but it would be a short term move (but a pretty good one if they can get them with minimal transfer fee cost).
They should definitely be looking at young players, and they should absolutely look to raid Dinamo for some of that talented and great value youth.
Olmo at 25 million Euro is a steal.
…So is Nikola Moro if you can snag him for 15 million.
They should also go after Brekalo as well, since I can see him wanting to leave Wolfsburg soon.
Vlasic would be a great addition for Milan, but the Russians won’t sell him.
If I am Boban, I target those high talent young players. They are all undervalued despite being pretty damn proven for their respective ages in UEFA U21 competitions, Champions League, Europa and National Team service.
No point in wasting money on players whose values are overstated simply because they are Italian, Brazilian or French.
Juventus got where they are by buying low on quality veteran players (like Tevez, Mandzo, Khedira, etc) and jumping on great value youth players before they blew up (like Pogba, Vidal, Dybala, etc).
Croats are generally huge Milan fans and all of these guys would love a transfer there. These guys (Olmo, Moro, Vlasic, Brekalo) are all gonna be fantastic players whose value will double in a couple years from now. Boban and our boy Paolo Mladic need to go all-in on them.
@Maminjo
Well said.
I bet they sign Ibra. And Milan should take a shot at Dani Olmo.
Milan is a shadow of what they once were.
@OU812
I’m not German you idiot.
@Rafael
Oh I know.
My argument is that Boban is an intelligent guy, but he’s looking like an idiot for taking over this mess.
Things happen, and there is never a guarantee that every move you make will pan out. It just looks really bad that his biggest move is looking like a serious flop.
He entered a situation where one mistake will end your term. This could already be it.
He doesn’t deserve it, but people don’t care about that.
I like Boban (and our half-Croat Maldini), and I hope they succeed… But they needed to hit like three homeruns right away, and they have a couple of strikes already.
@Elvis
You mean ciganka.
@Maminjo
Milan are in a big mess. Maldini and Boban report to Ivan Gazidis. The man responsible for destroying Arsenal. Gazidis reports to Elliott Management who will not spend top $ on real A class players.
Boban and Maldini brought in Rebic when Giampolo was coach (offensive oriented coach) Giampolo failed quick and as a result didn’t want to integrate Rebic. Thereafter, Pioli played who he feels is best to hold the fort. Rebic was never going to succeed at a shitty Milan and his lack of success there has nothing to do with Boban. Milan are shit. And unless their ownership group wants to buy 3-4 tier 1 studs they will continue to be shit. Boban is a smart dude but Milan were in a huge mess before he got there.
Well they did vote for a Cigan as Miss Croatia a couple years back.
@Luchador
You Nazi prick.

He’s retarded – more should be made if this assault.
Give Boban some time, geez! They will loosen the purse this upcoming summer and the team will be better.
What the fuck did Dele Alli do to Kovacic today at the end of the first half? Is he a fucking peder?
gbvh-Didn’t watch, as I don’t really care about club soccer (unless it is Brekalo v Rebic 😉 )
…but what a joy it is to watch Modric play. Pure soccer, as it was intended to be played.
…bad tie for Real today though, lost some important points.
…concerned that even though Vrsaljko was back training with Atletico last month, I haven’t heard a word about his progress. No sightings on the bench, nothing on social media.
honestly, clowns like these are part of the charm of this website.
still laughing.
Someone you know at the club…we are honored with your esteemed insight on this site…even if you’re full of govno!!
you are funny.
good night. not addressing one word of your ignorance.
ciao.
Mandzukic is B grader. Anyone that thinks Juve would be better of with Mandzukic doesn’t know football and hasn’t played the game at the highest level.
All Juve need is a new striker. I hear they’re looking at Reus from someone I know at the club!
@Luchador
LOL.
Man, bro. I feel sorry for you.
can you imagine signing ronaldo and regressing over both years?
but let’s pinpoint inter.
hahaha.
yes. and juve is so much better without mandzukic in the fold, too?
look at them running away with the league!!!!!!
oh and how did they fare today??
Mexico has produced some decent footballers and hosted a classic WC…don’t be ashamed
Maybe you already are a Mexican, Luchador and nothing is wrong with that.
@Maminjo
“Why bring in a player, who your team’s coach refuses to play?”
Boban is Croatian, and like I’ve said before, Croats are the dumbest people in Europe. Boban would’ve brought in Rebic because Croatia finished 2nd in the WC and Rebic played a role in that result, it’s as simple as that. Rebic is a fucking B grader like most Croatian players.
Have you noticed how much better Inter look without B grader Perisic and A grader Icardi?
“Why did they push for a certain coach, yet be so disconnected with that coach on what kind of team/players they should looking for?”
It’s not Maldini, this is all on that fool Boban. Boban is a stupid idiot, that fool belonged on that debate stage the other day, with those other Croatian fools.
Did anyone watch that debate, lol if it wasn’t for the football team I wouldn’t even want to be a Croat, it’d be to embarrassing.
The NT keeps me Croat, if it wasn’t for them I’d choose to be a Mexican, better people, better food, in fact I’m going to be a Mexican if Croatian doesn’t win the Euros.
modric was fucking incredible today.
yes, i know he’s getting up there. man of the match (for me).
i look forward to reading the above posts.
I agree that Rebic never got a chance at Milan.
…But this further cements Boban looking like an idiot.
Why bring in a player, who your team’s coach refuses to play?
It makes Boban look like a fool, by bringing in a player that their coach (Stefano Fioli) does not value.
What’s worse, is that Boban and Maldini pushed for Fioli to be hired in the first place!
Why did they push for a certain coach, yet be so disconnected with that coach on what kind of team/players they should looking for?
Did they even have a 15-minute conversation with Fioli before they went out an finalized the transfer?
Boban does not seem to have control of anything at the club, if he can’t even bring in the players his coach wants…or get a coach who plays the players he brings in.
I think Boban is an intelligent person…but being someone who knows what to do versus being someone who can deliver, are two different things.
I’m hoping he does a lot better in the summer (if they don’t fire him and Maldini by then), but Milan really needs to begin doing something that isn’t laughing stock bad.
Going to all that trouble bringing in Rebic, only to have him sit on the bench behind a bunch of nobody-players because the coach YOU insisted on bring in, refuses to play him IS laughingstock bad.
Boban should be embarrassed.
^^me obviously
Rebic never got a chance at Milan, if you read the Italian newspapers there was a fakenews campaign against him almost immediately (I presume the real target is Boban, as I have seen this circus before.) The fans were dumb enough to agree with the fakenews, and 5-0 is what they deserve. Rebic is arguably their best player, but they are too idiotic to know it.
Rebic is not in good form either, but he hasn’t played. He cannot wait to leave Milan, and will either go back to Frankfurt or some weaker team, cause he can’t play European soccer for teams still alive.
Rebic’s skillset is such that he can help any team even when not at his best. He’ll get back quickly, just put hom on the field to beast.
Mandzukic is off to Qatar it seems. Disappointed he’s not going to another European club, but happy that he will make a boat load of money at the end of his career. Still think he would have been decent for Man U.
Mateo with the Lampard spirit today
Jawing at that mutt.
Geez Milan.
Boban is looking REAL stupid right now.
Walked into a pretty bad situation in Milan, and on top of this, his first big move looking like a complete flop.
You know it was him who probably pushed for his countryman (Rebic) to be on that team.
Now, Milan is in the bottom half of the standing with a-8 goal differential. Nobody would have expected that they would somehow get WORSE this season despite all the hope that Maldini/Boban brought to Milan fans.
Boban should call Mamic for some advice running a team. 😉
The three forwards that started for Milan have a combined four goals all season. Rebic can’t even get on the field over these guys? They all suck. Pretty sad.
milan is a joke. 5-0. pasalic with one.
When did anyone say Rebic was in top form?
Shove the rainbow up ya ass!
@BZ
Ok, I’ll try again, why do you believe Rebic is in red hot form?
#Fakenews scenario to even ask him (or any player for that matter) if he would wear it.
Has nothing to do with the game of soccer.
@BZ
Why are you always talking about Brekalo’s form slump while at the same time believing that Rebic is in red hot form at Milan, are you pissed off at Brekalo because of the armband incident?
Meh.
Who cares what Brekalo is doing at Wolfsburg.
He’s already proven.
Germans are weird anyway. They are of a hive mentality and if you show too much individuality or go against the collective in any sort of way, they’ll bury you regardless of how good you are. 😉
Disappointing, Brekalo riding the pine, again. His slump is concerning. Given he has been given ample playing time this year, he has produced way less than someone of his talent-level should produce.
Hopefully he comes off the bench and produces vs big talent, like we need him to do this summer.
