🇭🇷🏆 Dinamo Zagreb are headed to the UEFA Champions League!!!
A fantastic bicycle kick by Bruno Petković and a 117th minute extra time goal by Josip Drmić sends the Croatian champs to the promised land!
It was all Dinamo in the 1st half as Bruno Petković’s monster bicycle kick put the Modri up 2-1 on aggregate, however, everything changed in the 2nd half. Dinamo lost steam and Bodo/Glimt were playing like it was the Champions League Final. The Norwegian side finally got what they deserved in the 70′ when Gronbaek danced through the Dinamo defense to get a low shot on goal. Livaković was leaning the wrong way but still should have done better to stop the ball.
The match ended 2-2 (agg.) to force extra time and it looked like penalties would be inevitable. But three minutes from the final whistle, Josip Drmić would pull the entire Bodo/Glimt defense to him at the top of the box (including the keeper) and had the poise to wait, wait, and wait some more for the perfect opening. Drmić would score on an empty net. Bočkaj would add an insurance goal moments later. And Dinamo are through to the Champions League group stage 4-2 (agg.) once again!
We tried the petkovic experiment at the euros remember
It was a monumental failure
Let’s not go back there
He was too slow and cumbersome
Great individual effort from petko
He can do some great stuff but all we need is a guy that can get hot and score for a month. And maybe colak is that guy
I don’t pretend to know much but how is there no one better at keeper with Croatian blood anywhere
I know we are hard on him but you need your keeper to make that timely save

Not apologizing for the defending, it wasn’t great but wasn’t easy either. Going in harder almost certainly ends up with a free kick just outside the box. Livakovic, on the other hand, geez, I don’t know how any of you can defend that. That was pathetic.
Agreed.
100% correct he could have kick saved it with his left foot it was 2 feet away from him?
He will never come up big for us if he’s starting in a few months we are DOOMED!
Does this confirm liva as starting keeper and petko gonna weasel his way in on one golasso?
No to both, Petkovic got lucky with that goal he is no Ibrahimovic to be frank. He won’t pull that off a second time.
And Livakovic is no starting keeper he still lacks confidence in goal despite how you argue that goal against him
To be honest that game was won strictly due to Drmic who should be starting every single game instead of Petkovic in my opinion. He is much more confident on the ball than Petkovic, and has way better vision and positioning.
Baturina knows what #10 at Dinamo means:

Do you think Ronaldo sees a luka highlight and says man i messed up leaving madrid
In hindsight Ronaldo leaving probably changed the dynamic a lot and gave more room for guys like luka to be more creative offensively and lead without a douche bag getting in his way
Maybe but Ronaldo is no Mordric. If fact I don’t know if anyone is. Don’t get me wrong, Ronaldo is better overall but Modric has been better in the later stages of their careers.
Tooooooooooooooooooo ..
This is a big time result.
Along with the money even more nogometaši in the CL.
Can’t believe Čačić has time to coach Dinamo and be a tv repair man?
I have respect for that work ethic.
Well done Dinamo. Second half was very poor, they simply ran out of puff and were physically spent. For the Bodo Glimt goal the main blame is with Dino Peric and Ademi. Petkovic and Ivanusec had good games and once again Ljubicic struggled big time at left back and yet Cacic keeps on playing him there.
Spanish ref was OK, the first half handball was not a penalty for Dinamo because the ball hit the body of the defender first, before rebounding on to the hand. That is the rule.
He is actually one of my favourite referees. Personally I think he did really well.
Regarding Colak:
I can say I’ve barely watched him play and when I did, I didn’t see much. With that said, he’s scoring important goals lately and consistently. There’s nothing better than a hot striker at the right time, kinda like when Nikica Jelavic heated up for a year and a half…this could be good for us!
Ljubicic is out of his Element in these big matches they are going to destroy the kids confidence.
But nice that they play with the big boys!
Dinamoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
We did it.
Bring on those euros. And a dream, if Luka and Real come to Zagreb again.
Well, when we ask what European league Dinamo belongs in…here’s $19,000,0000 for qualifying for Champions League!
That should be good reason for them!
Pretty much this.
If we feel that Dinamo is better suited for Europa, then we can cheer for them to finish third in the CL Group Stages and go directly to the Europa knockout phase.
But if you want Dinamo to eventually become a European powerhouse, then you have to hope they continue to aim for and collect the ridiculous prize money that comes with Champions League football (and have Dinamo continue to reinvest that money into the club).
btw – look who scored yet another crucial goal for Rangers……
Yes, Livakovic shit the bed on the goal, but this is on the coach for “parking the bus” in the second. Ljubicic looks lost and that’s on the coach for putting him in a role that he is not capable of.
I’ve said this several times…Dinamo struggle at left back and if they don’t change that problem, they’ll always have issues. Cacic is the coach, he doesn’t buy the players.
That goal was weak but fuck me, you guys look to blame Livakovic for everything…probably because you didn’t notice that player dribble through the Dinamo defense and shoot when he should never have been able to do that. Livakovic was going right and the player shot left…wet surface…not as easy as you think for a tall guy!
Dinamo stopped working. Simple as that!
You’re up two goals in a game and you stop working while your opponent is out working you. That’s not a coaching problem, that’s a team problem!
agree with you on that one. The goal allowed was not a catastrophe by Livakovic, it actually would have been a really tough save.
I agree- Livakovic is a whipping boy for this site. He should have done better on the play, but as you stated, the defence looked terrible- a la Bambi on ice style. Yes, the coach doesn’t make the roster so he can only work with what he has. That said, he watched the same shit we watched for 50 minutes and was content to make zero personnel or tactical changes so that’s on him. Jebi ga- let’s go Dinamo!
I agree with you too. Although the shot could have been saved, the Bodo/Glimt forward dribbled between 2 Dinamo players with no challenge at all from either defender. That shot should have been prevented from ever happening. You can not stop working and just park the bus for almost the entire second half. Also, Cacic took out the 3 most influential players; Baturina, Spikic, and Orsic.
Hrmic,
Baturina is one of my favourite young players and I have high hopes for him but man, he’s been terrible last week and today so we can’t use his sub as a bad example. Spikic looked exhausted after 30 minutes and couldn’t run…not sure why Osric came out…probably for fresher legs.
I guess Drmic is the reason Orsic came off…good call by Cacic!
Yet another Howler from Livakovic…
If they fail to qualify, then I’m glad it was Livaković that caused it.
We really need to reevaluate our keeper situation.
That’s the silver lining. The English commentators on my stream were saying what a poor effort it was from Liva. I just can’t see us getting anywhere in any international tourneys with him as our keeper.
What a golaazzzo from Petkovic…damn.
First half really good…hit the bar, should have had a penalty also I thought….
Come on boys, 45 more minutes….
An absolute stunner
I’ve never been a fan of predicting scores, especially not for my teams…I’m superstitious that way!
No matter how we look at this game it’s going to be a really tough one for Dinamo. They’re starting the game down a goal against a very organized team. Watching Bodo last week made me realize even more that soccer is universal (especially for European teams) and every club needs to be respected. Nowadays, country’s like Kazakhstan and Latvia have decent clubs that in their best day can beat a heavy favourite because they learn a system and stick to it collectively!
If you ask me, after all the shit talking we’ve done about Cacic, he’s been alright…not too many complaints.
This game has to be a better game for Baturina, Ljubicic, Ivanusec, Spikic and especially Ristovski who didn’t cross a single ball last game. Hopefully we create chances and finish them!
I’m hoping we play a good game and the rest will take care of itself!
I predict dinamo will be up 2-0 at half 😜
My prediction is that Dinamo will win (3 – 1) on the night and play CL. Bodo/Glimt have struggled away from home in Europe this season. CL will be tough, however extra 18 million in the bank will make some of the defeats palatable.
Speaking of Dinamo Zagreb, Nikola Moro (former player) has apparently gone on loan to the Italian team Bologna.
Hopefully he takes his chance and book his spot for Qatar, best of luck to him.
