MODRIĆ TO MANCHESTER UNITED?
There is a rumor flying around England that Manchester United are prepared to send Michael Carrick and £10 million Tottenham’s way for the services of Luka Modrić. The summer transfer window closes on September 1st.
I have spoken to a few ManU supporters and they have said that there’s not a chance the deal goes through as Michael Carrick is beloved in Manchester. I also don’t want Modrić to move to Manchester United or another club of such caliber quite yet. I like how Tottenham has started the season and want to see what they can accomplish should the entire team stay together for an entire year.
Thanks to Ivica for bringing us this news.
WILL TOTTENHAM BECOME DINAMO ZAGREB WEST?
Rumors have started to circulate about Mario Mandžukić joining a red hot Tottenham Hotspur club. The reason this comes about now is because of striker Roman Pavlyuchenko’s unhappiness on the bench. Should Tottenham move the Russian, they would have to pick up another striker.
I would be ok with this move. Mandžukić has nothing else to prove in the Prva Liga and who knows how far Dinamo can really get in Europa League this season. He’d be in good company anyways with Modrić and Ćorluka.
POKRIVAČ HAPPY TO LEAVE MONACO
Nikola Pokrivač has completed his move to Red Bull Salzburg from AS Monaco and will wear the #10 shirt for the Austrian club. Pokrivač and fellow Croatians Jerko Leko and Dario Šimić have all recently fell out of favor at Monaco. Leko was apparently confirmed to be moving to Livorno by the Croatian press, but that was false as he still waits in limbo. No word on what Šimić will do.
Still no word on Stipe Pletikosa, Niko Kranjčar or Darijo Srna.
@Ziva Istina
When anyone asks about Cvitanich playing for the national team, I will email them this:
"we dont need cvitanich…..he does not meet the standards for to play for croatia, plus he cant speak croatian….we dont need him. Croatian he is not."
Good stuff!
we dont need cvitanich…..he does not meet the standards for to play for croatia, plus he cant speak croatian….we dont need him. Croatian he is not.
Regards Duje Cop. They sold him to Nacional and now they signed him back:)
I don't know what Dario Cvitanich intends to do with his Croatian passport, but it appears a bit of novelty item now. He's never gonna use it. Good luck to him in Argentina. He's a decent players, but Croatia have other guys to look at.
Dario Cvitanich is now on loan to San Lorenzo.
Dario does have his Croatian passport.
Didn't Duje Cop play for Hajduk Split already?
Another signing for you.
NACHIONAL STRIKER DUJE COP SIGNS FOR HAJDUK SPLIT
My opinion is decent signing. Apparently he's on worst wages in the squad, but he has potential. He's still only young. I think they should pair him with Ahmad on occasions. I'm sure he'll score.
Cvitanich has a Croatian passport, but does not seem to be doing much with it so he's out of Croatia's plan. If he came over to Croatia lived there or joined a Croatian club might have been different story, but he didn't plus we only needed him when Eduardo was out. Both parties have now move on.
Regards his form. He was mediocre last season considering his reputation he has and the fee paid for him. He scored 9 goals which is okay, but not great in such a poor league. He also scored a lot of his goals in the same games rather than over the course of the season. Regards his future Ajax are happy to sell him to River Plate and he most likely leave before deadline. However Jol says he wants a replacement arriving first. Neither Dinamo or Hajduk can sign this player. He is too expensive and Dinamo already has strikers.
Ps. I forgot to mention… didn't Dario apply for citizenship anyway, even though UEFA won't accept it?
Thanks guys. I knew that he wasn't able to play for us, but was more wondering how Dario is doing/playing?
I see from the Ajax site that he's been active with them.
Why don't we just sic the women from Split or Rijeka on him, and he can accept his birthright the old fashioned way 🙂
I meant Ajax doesn't pay 7 million euro for just any player.
@JP Our friend Dario cannot qualify to play for the Croatian national team. I believe the rule is Dario must be 1st generation(his father) to third generation(grandfather) Croatian. His great grandfather came from Croatia so he is 4th generation. The other way he can get citizenship is if he lives in Croatia for two years. He's in his prime right now and has expressed interest in going back to Argentina to play. If he wanted to play for the national team he would demand a loan deal to Dinamo. There he can get his citizenship and possibly play in Champions League. I don't see him playing for the national team unless FIFA changes some of their rules. I don't think Dario wants to play in the HNL. Cvitanich is 25 so it would be great to have him on the roster. Ajax doesn't pay 7 million euro for anyone. I have seen some highlights and he looks extremely talented.
Da Silva dove….no need to make the excuses for the naturalized croatian via bazil.
I think y'all are giving Dudu too much of a rough time over that play. Afterall, it's the ref who determined it was a penalty and not Dudu.
Keep in mind the play is in slow motion, and if you look closely his legs are extended reaching for the ball when Boruc brushes past him.
As a player and a goalie, I've both knocked over players that way, and been knocked down likewise, and it happens often.
If anything, that brush by Boruc caused him to trip over his own feet, which is just as much of a foul. Not every foul has to be Gattuso-like :)The ref made a good call.
I'd think that Arsenal is not worried to much about his "reputation for diving", from one incident!
Also Mr. Ziva Istina, Dudu is a Croatian citizen, period, without the qualifiers, thanks.
Btw. Speaking of "naturalized" what's going on with our friend Dario at Ajax?
Anybody.
I actually can't think of a Croat that has flopped at Club Brugge. Balaban, Spehar, Stanic, Butina, Leko were all a success there. Even Josip Simic had some good days. I think its a excellant move for Perisic. Prob even better than staying with Sochaux. Why he don't get in Under 21 team still baffles me.
Yes, I can confirm Perisic story.
Thanks for the update dinamofan:)
Ivan finally might get noticed playing for a top Belgian club.
Since we're getting hammered for speculation lets give a real transfer.
IVAN PERISIC HAS JOINED CLUB BRUGGE.
This one has actually gone through.
Who is this urwebsiteisclueless guy. If he reads posts properly we all debate the truth of rumours etc. As i said Modric to Man Utd is unlikely. Explained why as well. Also explained that doubt Mandzo would go. However this is reported all over the website. Whoever you are try taking a look on the internet. Obviously this guy can't read Croatian as its all over Croat websites. It is wild speculation, but it certainly didn't come from CSR. However i also pointed out that Pavyulchenko is trying to get out of Spurs somewhat urgently. Surely nobody is denying this. As he explains his World Cup play is under threat. He does play for Russia not San Marino. He does compete with Arshavin, Dagozev, Pobrenjak for a first team place. Not exactly easy to get a first team place is he's a bench warmer at club level. If they sell Pav – This basically means they MAY search for another striker and MAY or MAY NOT have Mandzo on their list. If so as a Dinamo fan i'd be concerned.
Big Ivica has our back.
"urwebsiteisclueless" is a clown. Not worth responding to him.
@urwebsiteisclueless
The "dumb" info and rumors come from all over the internet, info and rumors in which readers and contributors of CSR find and send in. Regular readers and contributors play a huge role with this blog.
Remember, keyword, RUMORS. Rumors, as outlandish as they may sound at times, can occasionally become reality.
where do u get ur dumb info and pointless rumors…mario going to tottenham? modric going to man utd?…ur web site is so 3ed garde with somethings
agreed….
the naturalized croat via brazil needs to stop diving before he gains a reputation and it costs us a legitimate PK with the national team. There might be a challange down the road where the naturalized croat via brazil is taken down in the box and the ref will think he is diving.
If your not cheating you're not trying :)haha Eduardo missed 2-3 good opportunities today. I'm personally not a big fan of diving..I wouldn't mind if each team had a 2 or 3 opportunities to challenge a foul or ball going over the goal line. There are moments in a game that can change the momentum. I believe that if a player dives he should be punished not rewarded with a penalty. Also, if the ball goes over the goal line the team should get credit because it is so difficult to score. I'm surprised they haven't developed some goal line technology yet. I know they were testing some stuff but I guess nothing has worked successfully. If a player dives on purpose and its proven I think they should get a straight red..Its ridiculous and it should be stopped..
Great dive and penalty by Eduardo
Erm slightly worry news from our point of view. When i said nobody has the money to sign Pav i didn't consider Russian team. It appears Spartak would be perfectly happy to sign Pavyulchenko for £10m. £10m for Pavyulchenko sounds like an offer Spurs might take. Also they are set to recieve £2m today from the sale of Chimbonda to Blackburn. Basically what this all means is they are raising money for the signing of Mandzukic and that a bid seems more and more likely.
I also think Spurs will sell even more before transfer deadline. Oops.. lets hope they spend some of it on Kranjcar first. Sooner transfer deadline is over the better as think Mandzo is essential to us.
Fergie should make a real offer (20+ million) if he wants Modric to join. Modric is in the zone right now with the midfield chemistry at Tottenham.
Transfers in January are never as lucrative as they are during the summer. If anyone were to transfer, they better do it in the summer.
It might not be a bad move for Mandzukic to leave now or during the Januray transfer window…. there is no gaurentee Cro will make the WC and his value will not improve in the summer if we are sitting home for the WC.
There is no way Tottenham will keep up this pace. If the rumors about Man U are true, they are tough to pass up. But, Modric will not cause any problems for Tottenham by insisting to be sent to Man U. He did not cause problems for Dinamo when all the talk centered around him and where he would play unlike others who complained and rebelled (Corluka) and basically forced dinamo to sell.
Srna….it basically comes down to him. Is he willing to take substantially less money to play at a bigger club. I dont know of too many people who are willing to take anywhere from a 25-50% pay cut.
Srna also is not going to transfer either as nobody wants to pay him the wages he gets at Shaktar. Atletico can afford the fee but don't wages his wages same as Aguero and Forlans.
Kranjcar is definitely likely to transfer. Maybe to spurs if they offload one of Bale, Jenas, Bentley, Giovanni, Dawson, Pav or Chimbonda to fund it which is hugely likely. Kranjcar to Everton will now no longer happen following their purchase of Dinyar Biladyetenov from Loko Moscow.
Kranjcar scored in Cup game last night, but no goal for Kalinic.
Not sure if Klasnic, Pletikosa will leave. Host of German clubs want Cale, but not sure if deal with go through in time. Rakitic also to stay.
These deals aren't gonna go through quick enough for transfer deadline. I am baffled by the £10m plus Carrick for Modric as Carrick is wanted at Man Utd and costs just as much. Man Utd do need a creative midfielder, but i doubt they'd do this deal.
Mandzo will not transfer as Dinamo will be selling cheaply. Who knows what season Mandzo and Dinamo could have. He could be worth £12m at the end of the season if he hits goals for Croatia and Dinamo. Dinamo would be wise to hold onto the player till after the World Cup. At present we have no ready made replacement. Also Spurs won't get Pavyuluchenko out the club before transfer window. He's too expensive. Nobody has that kind of money that would want him.
Regards Simic, i think surely Monaco can make use of him as a squad player and if not they should release him so he can play with some small club.
As for Leko all i can say is haha. He had offers and put them all off with his big wages. Hopefully he'll move but he's in danger of rotting away in Monaco reserves. That move to Dinamo doesn't look so far fetched now.
If a big enough offer comes along Modric will leave. You don't say no to Manchester United. He's way better than Park anyway and he would play there. Luka will never say he wants to leave because it would kill the Tottenham fans. Believe me its every player's dream to play for Man U, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, etc. There are few clubs that fit in that category. Tottenham has a good team but Man U is another class. I like Luka at Tottenham because no one is expecting them to finish top 4. If they do Modric will play a huge part. On the other hand, it would be nice to see a Croat wearing a Man U shirt 🙂 There are always surprises before the transfer deadline. Looking forward to see where Srna and Kranjcar go.
lol genius pic, but yea Modric seems loyal to Tottenham at the moment and really I don't see any reason to leave. He seems happy and the Spurs are finally melding with him.
I just like the bobblehead Modric pic above.
Yea, Tottenham are off to a really hot start and unless MANU ups their offer to £30, Luka isn't going anywhere. He is playing a massive role for them any they would be dumb to sell him at this point in time. Just another entertaining rumor as the transfer deadline reaches.
Even though ManU has the funds, I just don't see this happening especially with Tottenham firing on all cylinders.
Luka has addressed this rumor by saying,
"I don't know anything about a Manchester offer. In Tottenham I am satisfied and there is no point thinking about other clubs."
"I am signed until 2013 and I am thinking about extending my contract in London."
