I would first of all like to apologize to all our readers as I was not able to post anything for the past two weeks due to my computer being in the shop. Denis did a great job taking the full work load as I was absent from reporting so I thank him for that. Back to business.
Croatia fell one spot in the FIFA World Rankings this month due to their 1-1 draw in Scotland. We have all agreed on CroatianSoccerReport.com that these rankings are skewed and mean very little to how the teams actually shape up. Croatia is now 13th as they were jumped by fellow Euro 2008 contenders Romania.
It should be a slow rest of the month for our international side. I only see Bilić’s contract extension and player injury reports making the front page before a very crucial May, which includes 2 friendlies only weeks before the start of Euro 2008.
It should be a fun time as Euro 2008 approaches so stay tuned for all the latest!
hey joze i made a facebook account…myspace is dying…it wont let me make a CSR account…come to facebook…we are CroatianSoccerReport.com…its a group…if you cant find it shoot me your email…
well he was all but out of zagreb…the only thing stopping him was markovic not signing the papers to release him and he didnt…hopefully that doesnt happen again this summer and well be seeing modric in england or spain very soon…
hey
i’m posting from Australia
i was also annoyed when he stayed at dinamo..after all the rumours of transfers and all the talk he sined a new contract
I told Dennis yesterday when we talked about this, Barcelona is going to be his new home, Ronaldinho is leaving and they need a player like Luka because GIO just wont cut it, if he goes to liverpool (as much as I would like it) he would never play, Xabi Alonso, Babel, Gerrard and Mascherano is an unbreakable mid
Hey Joze,
First off, thanks for the updates and for sticking with us.
The Luka Modrić story has left a sour taste in my mouth because he should have been transfered last winter. However, as you know, a greedy owner has gambled, and hopefully, Luka won’t pay for his mistake.
Myspace might be a thing to look at. Thanks for the advice.
What are your thoughts on EURO, where are you writing us from?
Thanks bud!
hey
I think he will go to chelsea or liverpool at the end of the season.
I guess these stories probably arent worth posting because every day its a new club after him…so far ive counted Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona, Portsmouth, Man City, Man Utd and Real Madrid. It’s anyones guess where he will go.
But great website…keep up the good work!
just a thought..maybe create a myspace for your website and get more people onto the site
hey joze…me and denis were just talking about all the modric rumors…for us this isnt a big deal until the season ends and 2-3 clubs seriously start taking consideration. So we don’t know if it’s even that newsworthy. Remember: Modric should already be playing in the Premiership. So it should happen this summer. Which team? who knows….so Im interested in what you have to say from being a knowlegable fan from our site. Would you like us to post everything and anything or keep it tighter? Thanks Joze
Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Luka Modric has admitted he is “truly honoured” by rumours of a potential transfer bid from Liverpool this summer.
According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur and the Reds are set to go head to head in a race to sign the highly-rated 22-year-old.
Modric has attracted the attention of a number of big clubs across Europe and it is believed his price-tag could be in the region of £18 million.
And the Croatian international admitted any offer from one of the top English clubs might be too good to turn down.
“I don’t wish to discuss possible transfers, but if Liverpool really want me then this is fantastic and I am truly honoured,” he told Croatian daily newspaper Vecernji List.
Modric also revealed he had watched the European match between Liverpool and Arsenal in midweek and said he had been suitably impressed by the style of play, and the result, at Anfield.
“I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal – only the greatest and the best can play such a match against a strong side like Arsenal,” he added.
In addition to Liverpool and Spurs, it is thought Chelsea, Portsmouth, Manchester City and Barcelona are all preparing bids for Modric when the transfer window reopens this summer.
