16 year-old Borna Ćorić and 15 year-old Ana Konjuh both won the US Open junior titles this weekend in New York, NY. The #4 ranked Ćorić came back to defeat Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to grab his first ever Grand Slam juniors title. The win also propels him to the #1 ranked junior male player in the world.
Ana Konjuh also came back to defeat American wild card Tornado Alicia Black in a third set tie break 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8). The Grand Slam win is now the second of her career after winning the 2013 Australian Open.
The future of Croatian tennis is bright at the moment; on both sides of the draw.
Actually, did I say Djokovic won a junior slam??? Can’t you fucking read you stupid dipstick? What about the points I made don’t you get? How does playing well as a junior have no bearing on senior performance? You’re saying it doesn’t matter if you’re the #1 junior player or the #200 junior player, both typically have an equal chance at being great senior players? Are you retarded?
actually djokovic didnt win any grand slams as a junior
neither did nadal
federer won 1

This guy be trollin
@Ziva & Iggy, thanks for letting us know that winning a Junior Championship does not guarantee winning a Senior Championship. Did you figure that out all by yourself? Wow, you guys are fucking geniuses!
Was Djokovic an average Junior player, or was he very good?
Is it true that the vast majority of great pros were at the very least very good Junior players?
Why is loyalty based on citizenship piece of paper AOK, but loyalty based on RACE if you’re White is somehow ‘the greatest sin’?
You can’t answer my question but keep pretending you hold the “moral high ground”, correct? Your “moral high ground” rests under my heal. You say what you’re told to say to not be called a “raaaciss”. Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.
It’s good to win juniors but it really has no bearing on seniors performance whatsoever. That being said that greek aussie guy kockinmyarse or whatever.. i have seen him before and he is actually impressive and talked about in aus so beating him is a good result
yeah ziva, it’s do or die.
i have a feeling it will be a close game but we will fall short. Bogdanovic has been playing great but Saric needs to step up.
wait and see with the hoops team…..if they lose tomorrow, they are eliminated and come home.
how about our basketball team? Why isn’t anyone on this site doing any coverage of it.
we lost our first game vs the spaniards but put up 3 impressive wins right after that. We need to give these guys some recognition. Beating Slovenia today was a huge upset in the tournament and if we can beat the czech we will be in really good shape. Bogdanovic looks like a real nba player, hopefully next year he decides to join the nets.
Good results, but good results at the juniors level doesn’t always translate to senior level success. Jelena Kostanic anyone????? Mirjana Lucic?????? Both won grand slams at the junior level and never came close to that success at the senior level. Djokovic never won at the juniors level.
Cilic won a juniors title and now he is making bogus excuses to hide his doping results.
WOW!
This has been a big time Sunday for Cro Sports.
Croatia 76 – 74 Slovenia!
World – Class is who we are.
When do this phenoms take the leap to the senior level ?
