SPAIN
It was a Croatian bonanza at the Bernabeu in Madrid on Saturday as Luka Modrić and Mateo Kovačić got the start for Real Madrid while Duje Čop got the nod for Sporting Gijon. It looked like a runaway game for Real Madrid as Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice for his side within the first 18 minutes of the match, but a rare mistake from Modrić in the 35th minute gave Sporting their goal with an errant pass out of the back. This made the game 2-1 going into halftime; and with Real Madrid looking for a third, which never came, Sporting got what they were looking for. Croatian striker Duje Čop got his chance to step up to the spot in the 78th minute to tie the game, however, Čop fired well over the crossbar and Real Madrid would escape with a 2-1 win.
Čop misses penalty 10:20
Mateo Kovačić had another solid game on Saturday, playing 81 minutes in the Real Madrid midfield. He hasn’t been on the stat sheet much this season, but his play has only been getting for sharp with all the playing time he has received.
Kovačić vs. Sporting Gijon
Modrić bad pass 3:06
Ivan Rakitić got the start for Barcelona on Sunday but only played the first half as his side continues to spiral down the La Liga table. Lionel Messi would equalize the game at 1-1 in the 57th minute but Barcelona wasn’t able to find anymore goals and would have to settle on only one point. Barca now sit six points behind rivals Real Madrid going into their El Clasico match this weekend. Šime Vrsaljko once again rode the bench for Atletico Madrid as they defeated Osasuna 3-0 on Sunday. Vrsaljko has had glimpses of first team football in Spain this season, but the opportunity to play 90 minutes every weekend hasn’t been there for him yet.
ENGLAND
Dejan Lovren and Liverpool got the job done on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Sunderland. The victory keeps Liverpool one point behind leaders Chelsea in the Premiership race. Lovren played the full match, picking up a yellow in the second half, but will mull over a fantastic diving header in the first half off a set piece which flew just past the far post. The Liverpool defense wasn’t tested much as Sunderland only had one shot on goal. All in all a great day for Lovren and Liverpool minus the injury picked up by Coutinho.

Juventus are still atop in serie A despite collecting their 3rd loss of the season in Genoa on Sunday 3-1.
Mario Mandžukić benefited from Higuain’s initial absence to gain some continuity and was again a starter for Allegri. The former Bayern star fought as usual but found himself always marked by 3 men. Nonetheless he managed to collect two chances in the second half that he eventually failed to convert. His powerful header in the last minute should have deserved a happier handing, but even if he netted it nothing would have changed as the 3 points were gone at that point. Marko Pjaca hasn’t come back in the ranks yet.

Palermo dropped points at home against Lazio following a 1-0 loss on Sunday. Josip Posavec was a starter for the rosanero. The former Inter goalkeeper conceded a goal that drove much criticism. If it’s true that the ball crosses his legs, it should however be noted that the conclusion came from a short distance. Is he at full fault? I would not say so. Could he have saved it? Certainly yes, but had he managed to it would have been a fantastic save. Other than that he stopped some long distance shots with composure.
Lazio goal
Udinese came back from Cagliari with empty hands following their 2-1 loss. Stipe Perica came on in the 62 minute and failed to leave a mark of any kind. The former Zadar striker was never served but also missed the desire he had displayed in more than one occasion. Andrija Balić did not make the squad.

Milan continue their positive streak as the beat Empoli way 4-1 on Saturday night. Mario Pašalić played his second match of the season as a starter. The former Chelea midfildier squandered his chance to become a future starter as he looked too shy and slow. He stayed out of the game until he was subbed off with 11 minutes to go.
Ante Budimir sat on the bench the whole Sunday Afternoon as Sampdoria got one point in Crotone.
The Monday night match will see Fiorentina-Inter face each other. Ivan Perišić, Marcelo Brozović, Hrvoje Milić, Milan Badelj and Nikola Kalinić should all be featuring from the start. Marko Rog and Ivan Strinić will also have a booked calendar as Napoli host Sassuollo at 7 pm.
France
Danijel Subasic was in net for AS Monaco in a dominant 4-0 home win over Marseille on Saturday. Subasic made three saves, one in a point blank 1-on-1 situation, to pick up the clean sheet. Monaco and PSG pulled closer to first in Ligue 1 with a Nice draw on Sunday, as the former sides sit one point back from Nice after 14 matches.
Save: 2:30
Germany
Andrej Kramaric played the full match in a 1-1 draw at Borussia Mochengladbach on Saturday. Kramaric played behind the lone striker, as Hoffenheim came out in a 3-4-2-1 formation, instead of their usual 3-1-4-2. Kramaric had a quieter match than usual, firing three shots off target, creating no chances, but completing 31 out of 31 passes. Hoffenheim are now tied for the 4th and final German Champions League spot, with 22 points in 12 matches.
Tin Jedvaj was an unused sub for Bayer Leverkusen as they lost a tough one 2-1 to Bayern Munich on Saturday. Jedvaj started at right back in Bayer’s midweek Champions League match against CSKA Moscow. Through 12 matches, Leverkusen are 9th in the Bundesliga.
Ante Rebic remains out of the squad for Freiburg, who lost 4-1 to Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig on Friday, as he returns from injury. Freiburg are 10th in the Bundesliga after 12 matches.
Alen Halilovic was not in the squad once again for Hamburg, as they drew 2-2 at home against Werder Bremen on Saturday. Hamburg have four draws and zero wins in 12 matches this season, leaving them 20th in the Bundesliga and 6 points from safety.
Ukraine
Domagoj Vida played the full match at the back for Dynamo Kyiv as they easily won 4-1 at Volyn on Saturday. With Shakhtar winning at Dnipro on Sunday, Kyiv remain 8 points down after 16 matches. Shakhtar have dropped just four points all season.
Russia
Vedran Corluka started at the back for Lokomotiv Moscow in a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Ural on Saturday. The draw leaves Lokomotiv 11th in the Russian Premier League, only two places out of the relegation zone, as they’ve drawn 8 out of their first 15 matches.
Next Matches:

Did anyone watch Davis Cup….
Hahahahaha Croatia with another NOTHING again. Typical . Croatians think they can actually win something….Please… go cook a pig. Yooz are good at that!!!
@Crnkovic
Be a thinker, not a stinker.
Now, whoever believes, assents to someone’s words; so that, in every form of unbelief, the person to whose words assent is given seems to hold the chief place and to be the end as it were.
– Saint Thomas Aquinas
Summa Theologica – Second Part of the Second Part – Question 11
So you agree with the words of Bruce Lee, but Bruce Lee’s words don’t agree with Mohammed’s words, so for you, who holds the chief place, Mohammed or Bruce Lee? You can’t agree with both! Muslims believe that the Quran is true, Bruce Lee would disagree!
“They are just different ways to try and encapsulate a reality which will forever remain just beyond our capacity to understand.”
So what you’re saying is Mohammed never understood, it was beyond his capacity? Islam generally shares more in common with Arianism than it does with Catholicism. The Islamic faith is as corrupt as Arianism was.
But you did have some good advice for all Mohammedans, they should stop acting like 5 year olds and start asking some questions about Jesus! For example, the second coming, why Jesus, and not Mohammed?
I coundn’t care less what this Bruce Lee thinks.
“What is Truth?”
John 14:6
Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.
Jesus also said,
Matthew 8:22
But Jesus said to him: Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.
How can the dead bury their dead?
We have become cowardly, faint hearted, and so often, for some reason or other, we keep silence. We let ourselves be overcome by human respect, and cease to show ourselves as true followers of our Lord before the world. Why? Because we are cowards! Oh, how we need to renew our Faith, to rekindle our hearts in the sublime principles of our Holy religion.
– Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini
Is it good that I truly believe that Mohammed is a false prophet? Yes or no answer please.
@POGLAVNIK in capitals. Firstly you should find another name for this site because that one is taken and it could lead to confusion and misunderstanding, which we don’t want do we? Secondly, I’m certain that if we were to enter into a conversation about religion your head would soon be spinning with concepts and ideas that your brain can’t handle. What is truth? As bruce lee said in the film Enter the Dragon – “it’s like a finger pointing to the moon, don’t concentrate on the finger, or you will lose all that heavenly glory”. As a metaphor or allegory, all religions are merely fingers pointing towards what is divine and important. They are just different ways to try and encapsulate a reality which will forever remain bust beyond our capacity to understand. What is god? Is it a he or a she? Does Jesus represent the likeness of god or did god merely choose one form. Christianity generally shares more in common with Hinduism that it does with islam. Institutionally Catholicism is as corrupt as you like. Islam has it’s problems as we can all see, why can’t you people stop thinking like 5 year olds and start asking some questions about life. It’s really pathetic. I’m proud to be a croat but I’d never show this blog to any of my non croat friends. I’d be too ashamed of the ignorance on display. BOG (i hrvati)
2things…1) if I ever fight on behalf of Libya to protect US interests, please don’t consider me a Libyan!
2) Hns website kinda doing a Croatians around Europe article now. Trying to steal Croatiansports’ fine clientele.
Does that parrots mother have Croatian roots?
If I have a parrot and teach it Croatian. Is it a Croatian?
Another Fucken fake

link to sime goal plz 🙂
@Bolan Ne Seri
I’ll ask look at me Idemo what he meant when he said it to me. There might be some confusion here.
@Look at me Idemo
What did you mean when you said, “He admitted he doesn’t speak Croatian in Croatian…..you’re a special kind of stupid” to me?
Nice goal by Vrsaljko
POGLAVNIK,
What the hell do you mean by “He admitted he doesn’t speak Croatian in Croatian…..you’re a special kind of stupid.”
If by he you’re referring to me, you need to stop posting on this subject now.
As for balije, it is used for Bosnian muslims. Some use the term for all muslims.
Ante B again you show that you know it! Jean Michel Nicolier!
We can also look at Josip Ilicic, just because he plays for Slovenia, doesn’t mean he’s not Croatian, he’s a Croatian that plays for Slovenia, just like the Libiyan Muslim is a Libiyan living in Croatia.
The Libiyan guy wasn’t fighting for our Croatian culture, which as BZ says correctly, “is steeped in Catholicism.”
There is nothing to suggest that if he had married a Serbian woman and lived in Serbia that he wouldn’t have fought for with the Serbs. His fighting for Croatia was incidental.
If Croats can’t lift up Poglavnik Dr. Ante Pavelic in Croatia, there is no way I’m going to give a shit about some Muslim soldier who incidentally fought for Croatia! That’s my opinion!
What a pleasure it was to watch Inter vs Fiorentina!
Beyond just watching Perisic, Brozo, Kalinic, & B-team Badelj, I really like watching Ilicic…just from a soccer fan perspective.
Brozo had a few too many ungorced errors, but his knack for finding the net recently cannot be denied.
Anyone else a fan of Perisic’s defense? Attacks rarely grnerate on the side he is playing.
@POGLAVNIK- no doubt every Croat would say person #2. Here is the litmus test: If a country, say Germany, decided to overtake Croatia & kill every Croat in Croatia & Bosnia.Nobody would be calling the German soldiers now living in Croatia “Croatians”
To be Croatian has nothing to do with a border, but rather DNA & a culture historically steeped in Catholicism. Even if you gave up Catholicism, we cannot deny it’s important role in creating & protecting our great people & culture.
I don’t know what you’re saying you stupid idiot!
jadna ti majka bila…….opusti se…..predaj se bogu
Bolan Ne Seri said,
“Idemo, vidi se da je glup ko kurac. Mali priznaje da nezna pricat a onda protiv druge pametuje.”
He admitted he doesn’t speak Croatian in Croatian…..you’re a special kind of stupid.
@Idemo
I’ll try again, who are they and what are they? You said they’re not sure of who and what they are! You eat too much shit.
You are a Yugo, you just don’t know it yet, you could say you’re not sure!
He admitted he doesn’t speak Croatian in Croatian…..you’re a special kind of stupid.
I respect his effort and small mistakes if any
ako sam ja yugo ti si moj kurac……jump over to google for that one to
@Idemo
Bolan Ne Seri said,
“Idemo, vidi se da je glup ko kurac. Mali priznaje da nezna pricat a onda protiv druge pametuje.”
Idemo, you replied,
“Ne sekiraj se, govoriš i pišes mnogo više od puno ovi “veliki hrvata”
ovi tipovi što stalno jedu govna okolo ove teme od ko je veci hrvat nisu sigurni ko su i šta su.”
So Elvis admits that he doesn’t speak Croatian, but thinks he’s smarter than Croats that do, like Helena? You said to Bolan, “don’t stress, you can speak and write more than a lot of these “Veliki Hrvati.” Then you said, “these types that eat shit around this time talking about who the bigger Croat is, aren’t sure of who and what they are.” Who are they, and what are they? All I saw was that Elvis gave an opinion, which you used to show what a “Veliki Hrvat” you are. I think you’re a Yugo, am I wrong?
Zivio Jean-Michel Nicolier!
At a certain point, it is the individuals fault for not learning the language. I grew up with it as a kid, kinda let it go during my middle school/early high school and then retaught myself properly sophomore/junior year of high school. The best resource for learning were those old school chat rooms and ideally having a parent/friend who is a native speaker to practice what you’ve learned. I started by learning slang (ZG) and then songs (for structure, spelling, syntax), then movies and then finally the news. For me the biggest compliment is when my family and friends tell me I sound like I was born there.
Ahahah did google translate give you that literal translation
Oh my man you have me all wrong, if you could read Croatian you would know I’m anti this whole I’m more Croatian than u bs,
And who were the ones I’m talking about? My man you haven’t been here long enough or you’d know, when the NT isn’t playing that’s usually the main topic here
just in this thread we’ve been told Helenna isn’t Croatian
@Bolan Ne Seri
Balije, what are they Muslims? Please explain, I like learning things.
@Idemo
My dick doesn’t hurt because you write in the Croatian tongue, you stupid idiot, not everyone can read it though, but then again you are a big Croat, and writing Croatian is your way of shining brighter than the Croats that can’t!
Who were the “Veliki Hrvati” you were talking about, do you consider yourself a big Croat? I mean you can speak read and write Croatian, and that means something does it not?
sta te boli kurac na koji jezik ja pisem
stupidest question to ask if both are true, true to who? to me Catholicism is true and to Ali Baba his is true and both say nothing else is true. someone else’s truth doesn’t bother me as it bothers you
go to Cleveland and see how many households there are where the parents speak Croatian to each other and the kids but little ivo and ivana bark back in english, you think ivo gonna teach his kids croatian YAAAAAA leave it.
big shoutout helenna.
@POGLAVNIK
U need some better books.
POGLAVNIK, great name. Now you ask of religion and mention Muje. Let’s see what you really know. Over the last 50 years tell me the history of balije. Keep your name in mind when you answer. My thoughts on them were always the same. I learned first hand as a 12 year old in 1990 what they are. As a group, explain to me what you know of balije.
As for who the better Croat is, I say both are the same! Those that judge, I have no respect for and show their idocracy. Those that think they’re a bigger Croat, that’s child’s talk. And shows they have a dense head. The story I posted was of a Libyan, but I can find hundreds of others who are and are not Catholics that came to our defense. Vukovar has a memorial for one. Others have come back to commemorate the fall and walked hand in hand with our defenders and people.
You spit on the Libyan, while the locals appreciate what he did. And his fellow soldiers talk of the balls he had in defending. Do you think the same of our people that have gone to help Ukraine or gone to the Middle East to fight isis?
@Poglavnik
But does my question to those three boys make sense?
You’re an atheist, and my question wasn’t addressed to you.
Psalms 13:1
Unto the end, a psalm for David. The fool hath said in his heart: There is no God, They are corrupt, and are become abominable in their ways: there is none that doth good, no not one.
You’re probably the one thing that me and those three boys would agree on!
@POGLAVNIK
I’d like to say it makes more sense to use evidence and logic as guidance.
And a big thumbs up to Helenna Hercigonja.
Im obsessed with that TV show “Air Crash Investigation”.. it’s hypnotic.. i can’t explain it.. but im an addict. It’s always interesting to see why they go down. Terrible news for that soccer team and all others on that plane, be interesting to see what went wrong. Not the first crash like that in that particular area, that’s for sure.
“Who is more Croatian?
The guy who is Muslim, marries a Croatian, moves to Croatia, speaks, reads, writes Croatian, fights in the war for us so I am guessing he is pretty proud to be Croatian. I can’t think of any Croats that would have fought in that war and didn’t like their country.
OR
The person whose parents are born in Croatia, doesn’t read, write or speak the language, has never been or rarely goes to Croatia or goes to Croatian events, may not even hang out with Croatians but owns a Croatian soccer jersey and knows how to say rakija, hvala and Davor Suker every 2 or 4 years?”
The second guy is more Croatian, although I find it hard to imagine a guy whose parents were both born in Croatia doesn’t speak Croatian, you’d think they would speak Croatian in the house.
Plus the Muslim guy looked at Croatia as his second home, he was a Libiyan living in Croatia, not Croatian.
Or, I could ask Crnkovic, is it good that I truly believe that Mohammed is a false prophet?
@Idemo @Crnkovic @Bolan Ne Seri
Let me ask you guys a question, are the Muslim and Catholic religions both true?
Some common sense is required to answer that question, which I have a feeling that you guys lack.
It’s sad that nobody could convert the Muslim soldier to the true Catholic faith, the poor guy died believing false things about God, and “his death is to be judged evil because of the retribution which follows it,” as Saint Augustine says in his great book, The City of God.
But who am I talking to, people that can read and write Croatian but believe truth and falsehood are the same thing. Idemo and Bolan, why are you guys writing in Croatian, are you guys the big Croats on this site?
@ Anonymous
I see your logic with that reasoning on a technical basis regarding citizenship vs nationality. The tricky part is trying determine or define how Croatian someone is based on their practices and beliefs whether it be a Croatian by nationality or citizenship.
@bolan
Ne sekiraj se, govoriš i pišes mnogo više od puno ovi “veliki hrvata”

Sad story. RIP.
@ CroatianPerson85
As I explain before on this site: a person born outside of Croatia and not to Croatian parents and is living in Croatia is Croatian by citizenship. Person born to Croatian father anyplace outside of Croatia is Croatian by nationality (blood line).
Some people choose to reject their father’s nationality and take their mother’s or none.
@Elvis and anyone on this site
I think I understand your point but I don’t agree with it. Agree to disagree as they say.
So who is more “Croatian.” ?
The guy who is Muslim, marries a Croatian, moves to Croatia, speaks, reads, writes Croatian, fights in the war for us so I am guessing he is pretty proud to be Croatian. I can’t think of any Croats that would have fought in that war and didn’t like their country.
OR

Who is more Croatian and why based on your logic?
Elvis Grbac prosim lijepo
is elvis your real name? please give me the story…

@Ante K
Rebic plays Eintracht Frankfurt and not Freiburg, they beat BVB 2-1 at the weekend
@bolan ne seri ovaj Preseley sere
More than I care to disclose here Bolan. You expect me to ever honor a Mujo?
Things must be really good for you to not know the language and question people like helenna and spit on foreign fighters that came, fought and won praise of those that were on the front lines for us. What again have you done? Have you even ever visited Cro? If you did, I bet you ordered some “pivos” thinking you’re cool that you knew how to say pivos
Things must have been pretty bad for him to have adopted Croatia with such passion. He fought well and deserves a medal. You know that European Nazis came and fought and died for Croatia to. Do they deserve any respect?
If you read the story you would know he didn’t.
Minor in the sense that it can be corrected through effort. This can be accomplished
By resurrecting the national spirit. She might just be a carpet bagger looking to further her football career so she came to Croatia. Her mother is the main culprit and her bad morals. Many women
Will marry into anything for some financial security. I knew a Polish women who married a 90 year old back man just to get his house and pension. After speaking to her one day she mentioned that she regretted it.
Hispanics have a very large population base in the United States. They have their own Television,
Magazines, newspapers, and communities. Much easier to stay connected. Croatians are few and far
between. Also so many of them take Spanish in high school for an easy grade. Many of them even refuse to learn proper English but they gladly take the welfare.
We can honor those who are not of our blood but we must focus on our own people. Marxism
Takes different forms. First it was the direct repression that we suffered under Yugoslavia. Now it is the forced multiculturalism of the EU. They will never stop until our identity is diluted and destroyed.
Hopefully the Libiyan soldiers wife converted him to Catholicism, if not, that’s a really sad story.
@ Elvis
guess Helennas mother has gave her none of that forged identity eh?
acquiring our language is minor? so why aren’t the majority of diaspora children able to speak to baba and dedo?
Then there is the flip side to your point, if language is minor and someone doesn’t know it then by your view are they not croat?
5th generation latino immigrants seem to have no problem in carrying the language down the pipe line.
@ iggy ne ponasaj se kao peder
Hold on I am getting my BaBa to read it to me.
Croatian dad, Danish mother, you’ve said it before.
Elvis so what are your thoughts on this
http://m.24sata.hr/news/strah-i-trepet-od-lipickog-zeta-gadafija-strahovali-su-cetnici-500903
Let me know if you need help translating since it’s not in english.
how dafuq did u know about the danish thing? i never said that here did i ?
Speaking the language is nice but it’s minor. Croatian
Identity was forged in fire since the 6th century. It’s something you just don’t give away to some Fucken Jamaican. She is taking a spot from one of our sisters. Your greatest strength is your people. The communists greatest trick was convincing some of you that anyone can be Croatian.
Don’t worry about stupid idiot Anonymous.
Iggy is half Croatian, half Danish, he is agnostic and he is not from Judea, there is no way Iggy is a Jew by any definition!
The young lady Helena, if she is Catholic, she’s OK, if not, she shouldn’t be involved in the Croatian womens team set up. That’s my opinion.
why im a jew? if i was a jew would i be brokearse? gimme a fkn break.. do i look like an accountant to u ?
@idemo
i can prove to you im not if you want me to pull me pants down 😉
Helenna Hercigonja can read that, some that can’t read it say they are Croats and she is not
Iggy ovaj kaže da si židov, šta ti imaš na to
Iggy=Jew
how do u watch games on youtubbies?
I don’t care what Kovac does at the club level, I hope he never coaches the repka again. Worst coach Croatia ever had.
I know what a screamer is, even without seeing his goal today, wouldn’t say brozo delivers screamers readily
that’s awesome to see that croatian-jamaican-american girl playing for us !
lol watching inter is like watching a train wreck right now
i hope perisic can get on another team sometime soon
he just gave a perfect pass to his team mate and the guy boots it over the open net
terrible
i see why pepole were saying about kovacic before… he had no one to finish for him
watching the inter fiorentina on youtube…
actually entertaining
whats so nice to see is that we have some continuity with the players playing on same team… with inter, fiorentina and madrid… this can only help
nice job on kovac and his team…. must be doing something right
poll who is most likely to return to croatian team to coach one day
kovac or bilic?
nice to hear on teh boys in italy… brozovic becoming relevant again… just goes to show how much a coach and atmosphere can change players
elvis just choked cause she is cokolino
you can’t fight it anymore elvis… the mix is happening
but none the less she seems like has a good head on her shoulders and its better then another lazy dalmatinac right guys right
Livaja started for Las Palmas today. They’re 2-0 against Bilbao.
Also Strinic 90 minutes in the pitch for Napoli against Sassuola.
The Kalinic goal against winter was a beauty: long pas Badelj, finished by Kalinic.
Screamer aka hard stuck ball…
Perisic and Badelj also with first half assists. Unfortunately Fiorantina reduced to 10 men, so it’s likely over at the half with a 3-1 for Inter.
And now Kalinic with a goal, and Las Palmas are also leading, Kevin Prince scored.
Typical screamer :-0 huh
Brozovic with an early goal (typical screamer from him) in the Fiorentina v Inter match. Nice to see 5 Croats on the field together.
Elvis, she probably speaks better Croatian then you.
Stop thinking with your dicks.
if she was a man we would hear the monkey chants. Anyhow i don’t consider her Croatian. She should play for Jamaica.
She’s more Croatian than pulisic and sammir I’ll say
Elvis,
Nice article. I don’t understand the WTF at all. She looks great and is obviously very intelligent too. We should be happy to have her in Croatia.
Elvis…whats your beef with this girl?
UGH WTF

Ante,
Rebic plays with Eintracht Frankfurt, Niko Kovac’s team. He was on the bench. They beat Dortmund 2-1 on Saturday and are 4th in the Bundesliga.
