It was an important insurance goal as Dynamo would score in the fourth minute of injury time. Shakhtar ultimately won the match 3-2 and will move onto the Ukrainian Cup quarterfinals. However, Dynamo still have a three-point lead on Shakhtar in the Ukrainian Premier League standings. Ognjen Vukojević played the entire match with Eduardo being subbed out in the 90th.
“We needed this victory, especially in view of recent unlucky results in the matches against Zenit and Metalist. Now I am sure that the atmosphere in the club, as well as in the dressingroom, will be quite different. Everyone is very happy, it was very important for us.” -Eduardo after the match
