Isuse. What is their deal? Last year they were dismissed from Europe by Ružomberok. This year it’s the 4th best team in Albania Dinamo City. (4-3 aggregate)
Hajduk won the 1st leg 2-1 at Poljud. Dinamo City leveled 1-0 at home to force extra time. Hajduk would score first in extra time to take control and then concede 2x in 2 minutes to cough up their European campaign. It hurts. But are we shocked?
This falls on Sucic, like many have pointed out there’s enough time to look into dates and make sure they don’t interfere. All he had to do is advise his sister don’t do it early June pretty simple Stuff.
Overall i have been disappointed in Sucic and unfortunately starting to realize he wont live up to his potential. The kid is loaded with talent but he’s underperformed to date. I would say at Salzburg he didn’t do as well as he could have. He had some great moment but not consistent. Last season at real was ok nothing great and already week 1 this year in la liga he’s not playing.
Something is missing between the ears, i hope i am wrong as i am a big fan of his talent and would have bet a few years ago he will be the next big thing but i am beginning to doubt that.
I dunno Vlad, Sucic was named player of the season at Real Sociedad last season. His club seems to think he is a big deal.
Now that’s not La Liga player of the season, but still. I wouldn’t write him off for one mistake. He is still young and has to develop further but that should come I think.
I personally liked what I saw, even though he had a hard time finding the net.
His main issue was timing his runs correctly for Croatia. That I think was inexperience playing with his teammates. We have to bare in mind, Dalic has barely given an inch when it comes to youth players until about the last couple of years or so.
Having said all this, I understand Dalic’s decision to suspend him temporarily.
I think it’s unfortunate that Such set himself back with the squad. But in both cases they were weddings. Who knows how difficult his family was in this conversation, this shouldn’t happen but it can.
Sučić is the anti-Kovačić.
Every year, I constantly hear about how good Kova is (for Chelsea, for Man City) and how he’s their best midfielder. I hear the same when he plays for us…but whenever he’s out of the lineup (for club or country) there is no dropoff in the team’s performance.
Sučić (at Euro 2024) had a higher impact for us than Kova has ever had. He was involved in all our goals and needed to start.
He’s an intriguing player and although he’s had injuries and his career has gone a bit sideways (similar to Rakitić’s career at the same age) I am expecting him to be a late bloomer like all Croat prospects.
Lastly
If Croatia made to Nations League final – the semi final and final – would have been played instead of qualifiers in June
How dare Luka’s sister schedule her wedding when the Nations League final could have been
Doesn’t she love her brother ? I guess not very much if she doesn’t even plan to attend her brothers games in person and put “family first”
She is as Self-absorbed as they come
I’m sure Gvardiol’s 2 sisters would never do something so stupid for Josko – because they love their brother (and know he’s their meal ticket for globe-trotting to NYC, HK, London etc)
“Family first” is a LAZY argument
FIFA calendar with ALL the dates where NT games can happen is available until 2030 – it’s published 8 years in advanced !
You want to book a wedding June 11 2030 – you shouldn’t there could be a NT game so do it the next day/week !
Luka sister is self-absorbed and entitled by selfishly booking her wedding on a day Luka and cousin Petar could be playing
Typical dumb young generation – they think NT games should be rescheduled bc of their little wedding and tiny dingy lol
Luka equally dumb for not being involved in the scheduling and telling her to move it when he completely free rest of June and July (summer break)
Why didn’t she put family first and Luka’s work over her own selfishness when she chose a date a year in advance ? It’s a matter of having it TWO days later
One theory, she is envious of her brother and is trying to sabotage his career (which she has achieved now he’s missing the World Cup)
Lastly, it’s funny people from outside trying to say “family first” when cousin Petar was invited and declined to go because he prioritizes the NT over his cousins wedding
If the wedding not important enough for cousin Petar to attend over the NT why is it important for you?
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_International_Match_Calendar
Yes she should have rescheduled the wedding around it. But ease of the harsh comments bud. Family in almost all cases should come first. The only person who says otherwise doesn’t have children of their own.
Dalic rarely rotates in the younger guys unless by force or desperation like rakitic/brozovic leaving or gvardiol in his first match at the euros
The interesting thing is this was the perfect qualifying group to give some of them a shot given there are minnows in the group that a guy like vuskovic could safely be started against to try out
What do you expect from the dumb nosepickers?
Dalic says Luka to U21 to maximize minutes lol
Well U21 only have one game Turkey (day after NT Montenegro game)
So to maximize minutes Luka could play 90 minutes against Faroe, than go to U21 to play 90 minutes Turkey
But Dalic and nosepickers too dumb to figure it out 180>90 minutes
Never mind Luka still fighting for a spot to stay at Tottenham and Dalic throws him under bus like this
Propovijedas da je obitelj na prvom mjestu. A onda ti igrac stvarno stavi obitelj na prvo mjesto. Dalic je u krivu ovdje.
I disagree! Luka Sucic could have easily told his sister to schedule the wedding in the summer when I don’t have National team duty. This isn’t the birth of his child or a death in the family. Many teammates told Sucic not to go including the captain so not really surprising by this move from Dalić.
Family first.
HNS, Modrić and Dalić can go eff themselves for advising Sučić to not go to his sister’s wedding over a qualification game that he likely wasn’t going to even start in.
The veterans on this team in a similar situation would easily be given the time off without consequence.
Totally disagree,
Dalic did the right thing. Playing for the Vatreni is a privilege not not a right.
No matter if it was family or not having a wedding on a Monday is just plain stupid and attending after you were advised not to by Mondric is even more stupid.
national team is not as important as family. sometimes there are things much more important than your job.
I agree Davor, one hundred percent. But the reality is those who don’t have kids of their own will have a difficult time understanding this.
My only hope is that, in Sucic’s case, it’s a short suspension.
Dalić will use this to avoid ever having to start Sučić (even if he has a great season).
He’s already doing whatever he can to justify pushing Vušković down to the U21s when he probably should be a fringe starter for the senior team.
He already has his lineup for World Cup 2026 ready.
Interesting that Dalic has called up Sutalo for the upcoming qualifiers, yet the guy is injured and most likely has missed the pre-season conditioning and playing time for Ajax before the first match on 5 September against Faroes.
I don’t expect Sutalo to be in the starting 11 so the CB’s most likely will be chosen from DCC, Erlic and Pongracic ? Gvardiol and Stanisic are also possibilities.
Luka Vuskovic will be playing for our U21.
Luka Sucic as expected has been omitted and media reports suggest it could be long term?
Dalić doing his best to delay the inevitability of Vušković starting for us. Only CBs ahead of Vušković right now should be Gvardiol (if he’s not playing LB) and Šutalo (if he’s in full form). The rest of these CB callups are just filler.
Dalić doesn’t want to make the tough decision, so he’s kicking the can down the road and trying to justify a U21 appearance.
Olić doesn’t know what he’s doing anyway. You could give him Gvardiol, the Sučić cousins, and Baturina, and our U21s will still go nowhere with Olić in charge.
Embarassing spectacle by Hajduk fans. If you’re still upset about losing 3-1 to an Albanian team, don’t show up to the next HNL game, instead of behaving like animals.
Sučić is a weird dud. Obviously has skill but is socially awkward and always seems to pick up some odd injury when things are going well.
Why ask for Modrić’s advice if you’re going to blow him off? I guess that was not the answer he expected?
SN confirmed Anonymous’ suspicion
Dalic / nose pickers announcing team Monday 18th (while England will wait Friday 29th) as they need a vacation from their vacation
There will be the moronic non-binding standby list too 🤦♂️
Interesting, SN makes point Ivusic has been terrible so TBD if Dalic sticks w him or chooses Letica or Ivor Pandur (!!!)
Wouldn’t it be a funny if Dalic follows Anonymous advice on the keepers? 😎
Well the youth integration going well with the wedding boy indefinitely suspended
For those who don’t read Croatian..wb (wedding boy sucic) asked dalic if he could go. Dalic told him he can’t stop him but to think twice about it
Sucic talked with teammates and modric. Modric told him if he was him, he wouldn’t go and mentioned how his sister delayed her wedding several times for his national team games
Sucic took in the advice…and then decided to go to his sisters wedding
Which still no one can explain why their is a wedding on Monday
We discussed this a few months back on here and indications were that Dalic was going to drop him. DCC also got dropped for a similar thing a few years back.
I agree 100% with Dalic and would not call him for the upcoming qualifiers.
DCC was dropped because he took a vacation with his girlfriend over National Team duty.
This is not a similar situation to Sučić attending his sister’s wedding.
According to the report in VL, Sucic told Dalic that he was going to be back on Monday. Dalic told him if he leaves for the wedding don’t bother coming back. This means that the wedding was on Saturday or Sunday ?
And Dalic please also don’t call up Matanovic – if bubble-tea in Hamburg is more important than training – that’s all you need to know
Anonymous is GOAT
Luka Sucic kicked off the NT because of his sister’s wedding
Bhahahahahahaahahahahahaa
Huge expose in SN – they have never thrown one of our players under the bus this much ever before
Who gets married on a Monday? And posting picks on a tiny dingy.
This new generation is clueless – self-absorbed and entitled – without merit
Everything Anonymous said back than confirmed in SN including Modric telling him his sister moved her wedding several times bc of the NT and Luka still went
What a moron
Good riddance Luka Sucic – we don’t need your kind near the NT
Bati is next – 15-25% probability he is a bust – Anonymous sees his attitude and desire as worse than Luka Sucic – he already can’t start for Como
Thank god we have Pero – clone him
Sorry Maminjo about your boy Luka Sucic – next time pick better !
Luka Sucic suspended from the national team for going to his sisters wedding skipping the qualifying game in June. Caleta- Car did the same thing a few years back and was not called back to the national team for a couple of years. Modric and other teammates advised Sucic not to go as well.
Sučić also did not see the field for Real Sociedad this weekend. His teammate Ćaleta-Car started the match.
Frigan on the bench for Parma to start game today.
Coppa Italia . . . v Pescara.
Hopefully subbed in at some point. . .
Thanks for the update. Didn’t realize he had changed teams. He started the season well in Belgium
Luka Sucic benchwarmer today (and manager made 6 subs), despite Zubimendi being sold for 70m – at least DCC got 68′
Bati mercy sub w 5 min to so (manager’s 6th out of 6th sub)
Anonymous mentioned concerns around both these players, in particular, whether they have the desire to sacrifice all to maximize their football ability
Re: Matanovic “injury” – a bit perplexing – as he has been posting on IG all week the new bubble-tea shop he opened in Hamburg (I wish I was joking but not) – lots of pics of different drinks with nice colours – if it was one post – fine – but it’s like 10+ different posts over 3-4 days – completely inappropriate to be focus on this as the season kicking-off – Freiberg is a 6-7 hour drive from Hamburg so not like he was going back and forth, just spending the week in Hamburg selling bubble tea – maybe he “injured” himself eating too much bubble tea and has a tummy ache?
***.reddit.com/r/fcsp/comments/1mnl082/vasilj_und_matanovic/
***.instagram.com/oakberryde/
It’s called Oakberry – they have their own IG account – Igor is such a moron you see him posting pics of himself in Hamburg a few days in a row sell the bubble-tea – instead of being in Freiberg training every day
I knew Kovacic was injured.
But Gvardiol also not starting for City this morning and not on bench. Apparently injured but I don’t know status. Anybody aware of what happened and what the story is?
I was already to go this morning, but Matanovic out with injury, Vuskovic didn’t see the field, Baturina not starting, Gvardiol injured and out of line up…..Inter and Bayern both have games coming up next, let’s hope at least Sucic and Stanisic play….
Benfica 3:30pm EDT
Matanovic not in starting lineup and not on bench for Freiburg this morning. Commentator mentions a thigh injury has sidelined Igor. I was not aware he was hurt, hopefully minor.
Anonymous never wrong
Baturina not even good enough to start for Como
He’s on the bench in cup game vs. Serie B team
Told you
x.com/Como_1907/status/1956743163437088950
Actually it was Petar Sučić that you said wouldn’t start
The transfer window is still open for 3 weeks – Anonymous will not relax on Pero till it closes !
BTW, many Croatians playing this morning on DAZN in Canada.
Majer playing now. Spurs also playing but Vuskovic not (yet?) on field. Matanovic and Freiburg on at 900 (that is West coast time, noon for gbvh and crew in Ontario) Gvardiol and ManCity at 930. Baturina and Como at 930. P. Sucic and Inter at 1130, Stanisic and Bayern at 1130 . . .
Majer playing really well this morning for Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal this morning. Scored and assist (scored on penalty, roofed it into the top of the net.)
He has only a 6.9 on Sofascore but it is deceiving . . . he has been one of the best players on the field. He is dangerous every time he has the ball, quick bursts of speed, crisp passes.
It would be great if he could get past those injury troubles and be in top form for World Cup. I think he is underrated, and he could be an important piece of the puzzle for WC 2026.
🤦♂️
Majer played against a FIFTH DIVISION side today
Let us know how he does against Bayern
Add Anthony Pavlešić to list of keepers
He just joined Rudes
Presumably as stepping stone (if he can get them back up to 1st division) or alternatively if another 1st division club buys him (if he performs well)
Nice to see him putting in his dues
Obviously the Australian connection w/ Simunic
Luka Vuskovic allocated #16 for the PL season !!!
Nice to see him ahead of Mr. Small Feet #25

Grbić playing very well against Galatasaray. Turkish football looks even more corrupt than everywhere else, and a defender just scored an own goal, but Grbić was keeping his team (playing with 10 men) in the game before that
Anonymous eye test is GOAT
Anonymous pointed out how good Ben Doak against Croatia last year
Well Bournemouth just paid 30m for him to become their starting RW in the PL (Liverpool only paid 600k for him couple years ago)
Anonymous never wrong
Wow
All the Hajduk fans pilling on Ivusic saying how bad he played
“IVUŠIĆ LOŠ?!”
***.youtube.com/watch?v=8dFYeaxt7xQ
Just a matter of time till he gets chased out of Split by the Torcida
There is still time – rotting on bench Liva needs a club – they should bring him on loan – and release Ivusic
Dalic – where is our call-up list for September?
Dalic –
Anonymous eye test is never wrong
Pls pay attention to Ivusic on the 1st and 3rd goals
In particular, the 3rd goal where he thew out a massive rebound as the ball bounced off his pot-belly, than he, for some reason, began to do snow-angels motion face-first on the pitch, while the attacker was doing pirouettes around him before putting the ball in the net
In the 115′ (Dinamo player missed tap in) and 117′ (Hajduk defender saved him by clearing off goal-line) he almost let two more goals in
Are you embarrassed yet that you call this guy up to the NT ?
Please stop making the same mistake
With the 3rd goal the rebound goes to Hajduk defender (18 year old Mlacic ) and instead of kicking the ball out for a corner or throw in he loses possession and Dinamo score.
Ivusic could not do much with the first or second goal. He saved two one on one situations and without him the match would have ended after 90 minutes.
Yes the guy can do better, but when you have poor and inexperienced defenders in front of you it is not easy.
Thank you for clarifying Mart. I am starting to call in to question a lot of this stuff from this Anonymous guy because he seems to throw out random perspectives and stats without suggesting why one should follow these ideas…other than to suggest that players just suck. He seems to miss a lot of things, even from the same statistics he provides.
Starting?
Joj mene joj. Should be banned.
You don’t understand football. No keeper is perfect, and rebounds happen. Manuel Neuer, an absolute legend, gave up a sitter of a goal on a rebound that cost his team the game. The Ivušić one isn’t really that bad. He couldn’t make the catch (maybe spin, maybe wet ball, maybe just shot hard enough), so he recovered to punch the ball out from the Albanian guy’s feet, stopping a chance on goal. The ball went to his defender who did not clear it, instead giving up possession in front of goal with Ivušić still scrambling to get up. The only thing the keeper could do at that point was to try to take the ball off the striker’s feet again. Pathetic, yes. Unprofessional, no. The real problem with Hajduk (and Rijeka, and Varaždin, and last year’s Dinamo) is that their defense is very, very weak. The reason we never saw Ivušić look bad with the repka is that there was a defense in front of him making the easy plays, so he only had to step up when he really was the last line of defense, which he did very well against Slovakia, for example. That’s a keeper’s job. A keeper’s job is not to close off point-blank plays that only happened because of poor defending. Demanding that is absurd. If the keeper passes a ball to his defender and that guy then passes it to an opponent right in front of goal, the keeper can’t do much to stop a goal from scoring. If he saves a goal by punching it to the defender and the defender fails to control the ball or clear it, there isn’t much the keeper can do about the next two touches that lead to a goal.
With that said, I wouldn’t call Ivušić up to the repka because of Livaković, Kotarski, Grbić who is a starting keeper again since last January, and Letica.
A good example of this phenomenon was Grbić who was basically a good keeper in France and Spain when he went to Sheffield. Sheffield was defending so badly, that their keeper Foderingham, a veteran professional, looked like a joke. Grbić took over and got blamed for everything even though his performances were statistically better than his predecessor’s. He got loaned out and played well again. The new manager came to Sheffield and said that Grbić was actually pretty impressive, loaning him out instead of having him ride the bench. Sometimes it isn’t the keeper so much as what he’s being expected to do.
Virtus from San Marino, where most of the team is late 30s/early 40s, beat a Moldova team to progress to next round/PO
List of lesser clubs that Hajduk has lost to in Europe in the last 20 years. I’m not mocking these clubs but it just shows how far Hajduk has sunk.
Shelbourne, Debrecen, Žilina, Dila Gori, Tobol, Gzira, Ružomberok & Dinamo City.
Never heard of most of these clubs till they played Hajduk.
How low can we go ? What’s in store in the coming years elimination from club sides from Andorra, Faroes and Gibraltar ? Teams from Hungary, Slovakia, Georgia, Malta, Ireland, Kazakhstan and Albania are just to strong for us.
Hajduk has no money due to wastage on poor performing foreign players. They need to concentrate on developing and promoting their own youth players.
One of the comments on Cro social media.
“Svake godine popis anonimnih klubova koji su izbacili Hajduk postaje sve veći.”
It’s really sad what’s happening to Hajduk. They need to revamp their system soon.
Need Jordan or Magic to buy Hajduk.
They like sailing the coast.
Bamba has no self control. Easy to say now, but he should have been a sub in the 60th minute since there were no scoring opportunities.
He got a straight red near the end of last season in a match that Hajduk probably would have gotten 3 points when they were still in the top 2.
If you watch Livaja highlights from 2021, he’s clearly 25 pounds heavier since. He’s their best player, but he’s clearly slower since last season.
Not blaming Ivušić for the loss, but I thought he would be an improvement in goal. In non-HNL games, he has been below average.
Hajduk simply not good enough. Bamba rather foolishly went for a sliding tackle in the 77th minute and deservedly got a second yellow. Even when 11 v 11 Dinamo were the better team.
We lost it in Split where we created enough chances to win the match by more than one goal. Today we just did not create to many chances, we had plenty of crosses into the box but they were all of poor quality.
Livaja looks out of form and is unfit, carrying a few extra kilos.
Shame about Bamba. He’s one of the only players who looks dangerous on the ball for Hajduk as of late. Hopefully this doesn’t derail his progress.
Frustrating that Livaja goes into every season unfit. I remember the photos from last August were particularly bad. What a player he could be if he took the sport more seriously. Oh well.
So in other words, Livaja is not doing anything to work on his form…. What a surprise! I remember reading an article a year or two back where he said outright, that he doesn’t need to be the fastest player around. Looks like it’s starting to show.
Gypsy…
The Toronto maple leafs of football… except without the massive profits and revenue 😂😂😂😂
I think they make some money.
They nearly sellout every game and ticket prices have steadily increased.
They also make a killing on merchandise.
They spend pretty freely on Gattuso, Garcia, Rebić, etc. They tried to spend a lot on Erlić too.
Just morons with money.
They always drop off under pressure. I just cannot figure it out.
That’s a shame…
lol
Was having streaming trouble so didn’t see the red card. Was it legitimate? It seems to have dramatically changed the outcome of the match.
Went in studs up but I don’t think he made contact with the player.
Second Yellow. This ref is atrocious
I was surprised because the ref let a lot of hard and late fouls go earlier in the match. Didn’t expect a call like that. Also, his failure to halt play when the Hajduk player went down in Tirana’s box was inexplicable. He should have halted play then and there, especially with Hajduk already down a man. But! Hajduk should have won that match. They didn’t create good enough chances, and their defense was once again awful. To Tirana’s credit, they defended very, very well. Hajduk could have scored a few times were it not for excellent defensive plays by Tirana. Defense is what wins out over two legs or more.
Hajduk player gets studs to the head. Yellow Card…. ???
Zrinjski Mostar advance.
Bravo!
Nearly 20 minutes in and Hajduk can’t even get out of their own half lol
