Just over a week ago, media in Croatia had reported an impending deal for 20M Euro from Tottenham for Alen Halilović and Tin Jedvaj. Early this morning, news came out of Italy stating that Jedvaj was completing a physical for Roma. With the news many turned to Tottenham to see what they were going to offer Halilović. Soon after the Jedvaj news, reports also came out the the Tottenham deal seemed to be sunk. Current reports are that Halilović’s family were after a 1.2 million Euro deal along housing and schooling fees. Tottenham was not able to hit the mark, only offering 800,00 with a home. With the deal now cancelled, many are looking to other top flight clubs, like Arsenal, to reengage Dinamo to see what they can get for Halilović.
While the news may be troublesome for some Hrvati, others are happy to see the youngster potentially progress with Dinamo for a few more years. With the transfer window still wide open, do you think both youngsters will still sign with big clubs or wait it out for another year?
Both Vecernji and Sportski Novosti have confirmed the deal has fallen through.
Update: Jedvaj to Roma for 5M Euros. More details to come.

You guys should be wearing my “The Croatian Sensation” paintball jersey.

.
I think this topic has been beat to death.
I never owned a sports jersey until I had kids.
In an attempt to indoctrinate my children to soccer I tried to “soccer” up my house.
I bought some jerseys some without some with Croatian names on the back.
If you have kids in America and they watch American Football or basketball, they are going to identify with very little.
I remember seeing Mark Pavelic when I was a kid and identifying with him over any other athlete.
Now matter how athletic your kid may be, most are not going to be 6’6″, be able to squat 600lbs or be an Olympic sprinter.
If Modric, Prosinecki, Suker, Boban etc. grew up in America they would most likely not become superstar athletes because of how America is.
@Toni:
They were blond and blue eyed, but I don’t know what their backgrounds were.
the rest is NEARLY ALL TRUE THO !
ROFLLL
i mean for one thing, im only 31 !
RE: “Iggy i doubt very much youv’e ever been layed, on the internet everyday posting comments about his juicy cunt & cock, im guessing your a 40 year old trans gender nerd with a half vagina half dick who has no life other then to stay indoors and view tranny porn and post on this forum every day”
^^
This is only about 50% true !!
@ Ziva
Ok, OK! I will take you on as a mentee and support you through your jock sniffer sniffing fetish.
As a Hrvat who lives in Cleveland you get half price on your first session.
I am here for you buddy.
One time the “I don’t speak Croatian,” line didn’t work. And I heard the Cop say to his partner, “We got to arrest him and take him in….”
It was complete bullshit. And doing a tour of a Croatian police station wasn’t on my agenda that summer. So I ran and got away.
Funny thing is I saw the Cop a few day’s later at my friend’s place having dinner (Croatia is a small world). We both knew, but didn’t mention it. I was speaking Cro and got to know him though, and he was a good guy.
Iggy i doubt very much youv’e ever been layed, on the internet everyday posting comments about his juicy cunt & cock, im guessing your a 40 year old trans gender nerd with a half vagina half dick who has no life other then to stay indoors and view tranny porn and post on this forum every day
Context is everything. I was at a game. They didn’t care. They saw a fat navijac and boooom.
Antwerp
That’s how I rode the tram for free in Zagreb; not that that’s anything special. How those trams operate is a mystery to me.
Cro cops? Whenever they stopped me as a kid, I would pull the ol “I don’t speak Croatian,” line. I would say it in English. And pretend I don’t know what the hell they were talking about.
They then figured I was a tourist and just let me go. You get leeway if you are on vacation. 🙂
@nije
come on brate you are acting gay now plus no need to bring in the Ustasa in the conversation, they played an important part in Hrvatska and do not not need to be part of this discussion
NN
nice smile but I’m taken. Sorry brate you have to go find yourself a single Ustasa….
Looking up to cops?! As GoldenChild said, you people definitely are not from California. Come here and you’ll change your mind quickly.
The cops in Croatia are worse. However, they’re good in that they give you a free ride to the hospital after they beat you up in Osijek and then once you’re out of the hospital take you to jail in Zagreb and them beat you up some more. It’s soooo much fun…… .
People might find Ziva diffcult but without him this site would be boring. He challenges the status quo and that is a good thing.
@Mate……….don’t really care if I am difficult to like or not. Don’t really see how discussing sports and some other topics and having a different opinion would make me a person that is difficult to like. but, fair enough.
Heck, if any of us ever met I’d be the first to shake hands and buy drinks.
@nije
I can see that. 🙂
NN
YUP 😉
wow, this is the stupidest line of the year, come on are we chidlren on this site
“@ Ziva – you write a lot of good stuff and are up to par with me if not even more in cro news and sports but on this subject you show insecurity in yourself and low self esteem.”
Dude, I’m just going to say one more thing, and I already know what your response is going to be, however: you are one difficult dude to like. I generally like your posts but you are one difficult dude to like
@Laku Noc……jersey with no names on the back are fine and recomended if you need to have one.
@Mate……cool. I just think a first responder should be held in higher regard than athletes. That is all imet by that list.
And yes, I played a sport, Trained hard. Simply put: I wasn’t good enough to be a pro, which was fine because I put more effort in my educational opps……… and by pro i mean the ability to collect a high 6-figure or 7-figure salary or prize money. Playing minor leagues or in smaller leagues in Europe for peanuts doesn’t make one a pro. I’ve had that discussion with a family members and a few other who I know who played in the HNL for a bunch of smaller teams then bounced around the Slovenian and BiH leagues and played for a few season. Dudes were barely able to collect a salary to survive. Following ones dreams is ideal, but at some point who have to realize you are not good enough and its time for a real job and real wage.
cross= cro
anems = names
stupid autocorrect haha
@ziva I don’t own any basketball Jerseys and I stopped buying cross Jerseys with anems on the back of them unless they’re given to me and so what if I do I wear it because of the crest on the front of the Jersey not the name on the back.
Ziva, no one over the age of 4 idolizes a cop, nobody. If they do, you need to have a talk with that person. You can respect someone you know that is a cop, but cops aren’t necessarily the most successful people by social standards. Nothing wrong with being a cop, but I don’t anyone says to themselves when they’re young, I want to make a really mediocre salary and act like a tough guy all day, and have a crew cut, yea, a crew cut
Ziva, have you ever played a sport, I mean really trained for a sport, tried to become a top top player
Edit: My spelling.
Well, I don’t have that extreme of a view about “worshiping”
As for the police…..I’ve never had an issue with them because I dont put myslef in situations that can become “iffy” or would give police any reason to do something.
In Cro, its a different story. Those fuckers can be bought off without any issues for speeding tickets, drunk driving, etc…
Looking up to cops? Come to California, and you’ll change your tune pretty quickly. It’s common knowledge that most cops are there because they got made fun of in school and need to wield a weapon to feel power. With the current global situation around the world, I look down on cops for following most governmental orders. (i.e. Brazil). Worshiping anything is stupid. You have people still going to church to listen to the priest speak, while he goes in the back and bends over a little boy.
Ziva, I understand where you get your old school mentality from, and I appreciate it. But I think your definition of worship is highly distorted, mostly because of how you were raised.
DEFINITION:
Worship is an act of religious —->devotiondeity<—-
Am I devoting my life to only buying this player's jerseys, wearing it everywhere I go, praying to the jersey every night, sleeping with the jersey, leaning on every word the player has to say, dressing like the player, acting like the player?
No.
Your lines of "supporting" and "worshiping" something are pretty facked up in my opinion. Other than that, you're alright in my book.
Ernest- agreed on the personality of a lot of athletes and not giving a crap. I’m sure people don’t wear jerseys cause these guys are super nice and great people. We know most of these guys are arrogant and don’t care about us but we like what they do for the game, our teams and so on. I don’t know what kind of attitude i would have if everywhere i went i was being bothered by fans media etc… I’m not the type to go ask someone for a autograph or for a pic cause i like the people to have their privacy just as i do. However i see nothing wrong in wearing an athletes jersey.
I live in Cleveland and I agree with Ziva on some points. The fact of the matter is, athletes could care less about you. Sure root for the team and in our case, get lost in the Repka. Im a big victim of cheering for the repka hard because it pulls at my heart strings. However, the individual athletes, while they could be good or bad guys, dont even know you exist. Stop worshipping athletes, celebs, musicians, etc. The truth is, theyre adults just like you are but are humans od mesa i krvi. (thats what my dad always says lol).
@ Ziva – you call us jersey chasers/hero worshipers we call you insecure/low self esteem Istina….
I’m cool with that
Agreed on the Bynum signing…..I think when he is healthy (big IF), he is more valuable than Dwight Howard.
no, just the opposite. I have so much faith and self confidence in myself that I don’t see why I would ever wear the name of an athlete on my back. To me, it’s a form of having little repect for yourself.
I appreciate your comments.
Is this a crazy topic??? Sure, but we don’t have much else to discuss in this dead period for Cro soccer and sports.
Lebron will prob be back in cleveland after next season. In that crappy weather again chasing championships with kyrie irving and Bynum if he pulls through. Nice gamble on the cavs end, nothing to lose signing him if hes a bust, huge reward if he stops being a bitch.
@ Ziva – you write a lot of good stuff and are up to par with me if not even more in cro news and sports but on this subject you show insecurity in yourself and low self esteem.
One more example…….do we have any Cleveland people here????? Before the summer of 2010, people in Cleveland were all over the place wearing Lebron James jerseys. LeBron decides to upgrade his work environment (better weather, better co-worlers, better leadership, better work-related atmosphere) and moves to Miami (hey, anything is better than living in Cleveland, right???). What happens next, we see the once jock sniffing, hero worhsipping fans of Lebron in minutes change their view of the man because he took a better job and they begin to burn his jersey. If that doesn’t teach us a lesson, nothing will.
@mate…..it really does make me wonder who someone was raised that they would wear the last name of someone else on them. It’s really is a form of hero worshipping. Listen, nobody is a bigger sports nut than me. But, there is no way in hell I would ever wear a jersey with the name of someone else on it. No chance. It’s jock sniffing and hero worshipping of someone you don’t know. I laughed at all those morons out in New England last week as they waited in line to return Aaron Hernandez jerseys….and what they did they…..they exchanged it for another jersey. I can’t write comedy any better than that.
By the way, everyone go on index.hr/sport/ and check out lokomotiva s new jerseys. They’re not that bad
@Mate……I look up to the police. Always there when I need them. I use them and hire them when they are off duty for private events in order to have security around.
@nijo bitno……wearing another man’s last name in bold letters on your back is a form of “belittling” yourself. That or you are an attention-starved person who wants others to check out what you are wearing.
Ziva, I get the idea of having differing opinions but shitting on someone for having a different one generally isn’t cool. And yes, saying someone’s parents failed them is a little shitty.
I know you’re probably just kidding and trying to get a rise out of people (it worked) but damn….I stvarno imas neki kompleks
No kompleks…..samo istina.
I think the only people who don’t agree with what I am saying are the same people who walk around wearing jerseys that have the last name of an athlete on them or are willing to self-degregate themselves and walk up to complete strangers and ask for a photo or autograph.
Which leads me back to another story……I had a friend who saw Stimac and Bilic (over 10 years ago) at a cafe when they were still friends and talking to each other. Dude walked over and interupted their conversation and asked if he could get a photo with them. Stimac right way told him to get lost. And my friend, still to this day, thinks Stimac is a “loser” for doing that. I keep explaining to him the only “loser” in question was he himself because he walked up to two strangers and asked for a photo.
Who the hell would look up to a cop? Are you serious or just messing around now?
@Ziva – thanks brate i’ll take that advice with me and put it in the trash can lol i wont even recycle it buddy hahaha
@TheGoldenChild – people like us are not so infatuated with ourselves and our own egos, that we can actually put on a jersey with Petrovic’s name on it and not feel like we our belittling ourselves. People that are insecure and have low self esteem think like Ziva…
Ziva, stvarno imas neki kompleks
@nije bitno…..sure you can look up to people. Look up to police officers, fire fighters, doctors, people who work and lead legit nonprofit organizations, teachers, parents, etc……
But, if anyone looks up to pro athletes (people they have never met) as role models, then that right there is a sure sign your parents, relatives and society have failed you. As Charles Barkley said “I am not a role model”. The truest thing he has ever said.
Since your such a big hater on glorifying anything or anyone i had to ask that question. Thanks for the clarification….
@nije bitno’s comment
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3rtyerfHZ1qir45xo1_500.gif
No not at all. I was just wanting to see if anybody was allowed to look up to any one person or can be inspired by any one person in your opinion.
Mentors are great. I’ve volunteered in the past and mentored high school and college kids.
You aren’t going to come back at me and say wearing the jersey of a pro athelte is a form of mentorship or a thank you for being a mentor, are you?
Ziva – let me ask you this, what is your opinion on people having mentors?
Hate to admit it but Ziva does make a valid point about an adult male wearing a jersey with a athlete’s name on the back.
Any adult male wearing a basketball jersey has issues.
You guys can keep convincing yourselves its OK to wear the name of an athlete on our back (and in most cases someone that is much youngeer than you).
I can see you guys are jock sniffers, which is cool because athletes need people like you to sell their junk. Probably have also gone out of your way to beg for an autograph or even a photo with an athlete or celebrity. That may be even worse than wearing the jersey of another adult. What is the rational behind getting a photo/ink to paper…”my life is so worthless that I will waste time in my day asking for a photo or autogrpah of someone I don’t know”
Bitno has a valid point. It’s the glorification of a person that has created the brand. Even though you don’t have their name on the back of your shoulders, you definitely have it somewhere else on your body. Wearing a jersey with a name on it, is basically saying “I support this brand”. Ever since MJ, every player tries to make a brand name for themselves.
Jerseys I own with names 98 Asanovic never to be worn. Perisic Dortmund hanging on office wall. Jelavic Everton Long sleeve (wear it during winter games)
Yeah so, I have a Petrovic white NJ Nets basketball jersey that I own and wear, so what, who cares? Wanna fight about it?
Those are not just Labels those are peoples names. Giorgio Armani is his name and his brand but puts his name on everything. Many successful athletes wear the Jerseys of other athletes. So to answer your question, yes! if i was a successful athlete i have no doubt in my mind those people would wear my jersey.
Anthony Marrow wore Drazen Petrovic’s jersey in the 3 point shootout, was he hero worshiping/jock sniffing??
Ti si iskompleksiran….
@nije bitno……you can make up whatever excuse you want for jock sniffing and hero worshipping. I think there is a significant difference between wearing clothes that has a label (Hugo Boss, hanes, Nike, Calvin klein, etc…) and wearing the last name of a professional athlete, in many cases younger than you, on your back in bold letters. Again, if under the of age 18 you are OK to wear such gear, but any adult wearing another person’s name on their back has some serious self awareness issues. Then again, when you see the people who wear this type of gear, its not a surprise. Ask yourself this……..would the same person whose name you wear on your back also wear a t-shirt/jerszey with your own name on his back. I doubt it.
The only jersey I have with a name on it is my Islanders one with Gillies on the back. It’s not jock sniffing but a political message to Ranger and Flyer fans. The simple site of it makes Ranger fans wet their pants.
@Faux Cro
What nationality are they?
If we have to field a team of foreigners then fuck it why even watch. Hollow victories.
sgt.krastavac – i was joking no need to have a word with them either. It’s one of the most stupid things Ziva says on here and i fuck with him on it.
Everybody wears shit with peoples name everyday why would a jersey be any different? look at the deodorant, cologne, suites, clothes you wear.
Versace, dkny, ysl, davidoff, calvin cliene, tomyy hillfigier ETC… i understand a lot of us don’t wear this type of gear but you do spray yourself with their trademark scent everyday (UNLESS YOU JUST STINK, OR YOUR JUST CHEAP AND WEAR AXE) you wear shit with peoples names on it anyway why does a jersey make any diff?
Ziva you must be scent worshiping cause you wear Hugo Boss lol…..
@dannyj……..are you saying you want Mamic to bring in a young foreigner who can eventually gain citizenship in Croatia and then play GK for the repka. Are you serious?????
@Laku Noc……spoken like a person who probably does wear basketball jerseys and other jerseys that jock sniff and glorify another adult. Have at it, buddy. One day you will grow up.
my opinion is who gives a shit what people wear 🙂 if it bugs you that much then don’t look at them and quit crying so much
no one has some thoughts on why mamic and friends really try to bring an outsider keeper for the future? someone mentioned one of the wop keepers who isn’t being called up
total sell out, but if we can have sammir why not someone who can actually help us
I wore sunglasses indoors? Yes?
And ?
I also have sexual intercourse with females, thus, not being a faggot. It’s not rocket science, u faggy anon wrapped up bag of shit
@nije, please don’t spit at your parent’s, that’s going a little too far, just have a quiet word with them.
I saw one dude who was wearing a ’98 Lotto home shirt. And I told him he had a cool Croatia jersey.
But he didn’t know what Croatia was! He said the shirt was given to him. And that he likes to wear it because it was comfortable. He was kinda a fat slob though.
@ faux
Nice
I just looked at the a picture of the lineup from 98 being that it’s the anniversary of 3rd place. We will never have that much quality in one team again. And that coming from a horribly optimistic person.
And we didn’t have boksic in the squad
On a related note, two kids in my town always wear Croatian home jerseys.
I mean they ALWAYS wear them. You see them @ the park playing soccer in them. You see them at summer camp wearing them etc.
The strange thing is they are not Croatian at all. I spoke with the father once and he said that they vacationed in Croatia once.
Two brothers, one wears Modric, the other wears Eduardo.
I realized you are right about the jerseys.
Today I gave my Ante Razov Metrostars jersey to a homeless black guy on West 40th street.
@iggy calling people faggots, while you wear your sunglasses indoors
I would love to have a boban dinamo jersey. I don’t think I’d wear it, but that’s some solid memorabilia
Also read the turina thing. Feel like it would of been proper if dinamo and aik split the bill. It only amounted to 60k euro. That’s not a ton of money for any club.
Vrsaljko doesn’t look bad. I watched the psg dinamo game from last year. He played pretty well, I’d even say very well. Genoa really isn’t a power house so if he improves quite a bit and stops fluctuating in form so much, he just might be a very solid player. He could have just had a really sold game against psg but he looked damn good
Wish I still had my Lakers Van Exel jersey… 🙁
actually ziva is right about basketball jerseys.. if u wear those out in public you are a faggot. A FUCKING FAGGOT.
the chick who wrote that article is cute !
P.S. Still a cock down my pants. I know you guys want me to keep u abreast of what the current status is of my genitalia.
THANK ME LATER
What’s worse than a “jock sniffer”? People who post on websites hundreds of times per week. You guys need to get out more.
Speaking of parents and society failing, there was another shooting in the USA. You can’t walk the streets or go to school, the movies without the risk of being shot. Epic failure as a nation. Disgrace.
@Ante B……I read that about Turina. It reminds of the foundations athletes create only so they can pay their family members a six-figure salary for running the “nonprofit”.
Regarding Turina, I don’t if its a disgrace. These type of memorials have expenses associated with them and those expenses have to be paid. AIK is not a club rolling in money, so I don’t think they can just write off 100K. In a perfect world, his family would receive all of the proceeds.
But, I know in my professional life, when I attend a fundraiser for a nonprofit at the request of my employer, I then expect my company to reimburse me for travel and related expenses.
Just reading up on how the Swedes ripped off Ivan Turina’s family. Tragic and disrespectful, a disgrace.
Football.press says:
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, in the next days Genoa will officialize the signing of 21 year old Croatian right back Šime Vrsaljko.
Not a sure thing, but who else could be a decent RB for us once Srna becomes too old?
Vida could play RB but with he’s offensive not as good as Srna or Vrsaljko.
I want a signed Stjepan Spajic Hrvatski Dragovoljac top signed with Rodo and a picture of him with his desnica high in the sky.
I HAVE TWO JERSEYS WITH NAMES ON THE BACK OF THEM
#1 DRAZEN PETROVIC NEY JERSEY NETS
#2 JACK LAMBERT PITTSBURGH STEELERS
THATS IT THATS ALL FOLKS, MY HAJDUK OR CRO NATIONAL TEAM JERSEYS EITHER HAVE MY LAST NAME ON THEM OR NOTHING AT ALL…..
NEXT TIME I SEE MAMA AND TATA I SHOULD SPIT ON THEM AND GIVE THEM THE FINGER CAUSE THEY HAVE FAILED ME LOL
@ Ziva
got a good chuckle out of that Deadspin article, thanks
@ nije
I still wear my Zuti 98 Lotto away jersey come game day… My parents have definitely failed me… and to wear a name of a *GASP* ‘Yugo’?! I should be burned at the stake for being a jock sniffing, Yugo lover… haha
Is there a sans Drazen Petrovic rule? I don’t wear basketball jerseys but if I did, I’d wear his with pride even at 31.
Someone asked and I responded. Remember, its not the same people on this site all of the time. So, items will be repeated for the common good.
By the way, you know what is more annoying than jock sniffing, jersey chasing, hero worshipping sports fans????? Grown adults who wear basketball jerseys out in public…..here is an examples of some “ballers”

YOUR PARENTS HAVE FAILED YOU!!
😉
Sure, I do…….my hanes t-shirt just doesn’t spell out ‘jordan” on the back of it.
Let me give some of an update dlesson on what makes someone a jock sniffing, jersey chasing, hero worshipper…..
Wearing brand named shirts is fine……..What is not cool is wearing the last name of another person (who happens not to be you) on your back. So, no need to wear a jersey or t-shirt with the name spelled out on the back. Wearing a cro national team jersey or a Dinamo/Hajduk jersey is fine. That is not jock sniffing and hero worshipping. However, if you are above the age of 18, wearing that same cro national team jersey or a Dinamo/Hajduk jersey or any other club/country jersey with the name of someone spelled out on the back of it is jock sniffing and hero worshipping at its finest.
ziva do u have any brand named shirts?
In your mind, if i wear a hanes white t shirt, im worshipping michael jordan, because thats his product
where’s ‘Jock Sniffer’ when you need him…
@Booby V………….negative……the day you see me wearing a jersey with the name of teen on my back is the day you can shoot me. But, I’m sure there are some adults on this website who would have no issues hero worshipping and wearing the last name of someone on their backs.
Kouassi-Maglica-Perosevic could be a pretty good front three…
Caktas-Andjelkovic-Andrijasevic a good midfield trio
Jozinovic-Milic-Milovic-Vrsajevic solid defence
PS: Maglica and Perosevic have been playing together since they were kids, and are good friends…and perosevic could play center foward
@ Anonymous
Giampaolo Pozzo, who owns Udinese, owns Watford and Granada as well. Watford and Granada have become feeder clubs to Udinese.
Who wants to buy my Halilovic Totenham jersey? Ziva?
Did Kelava actually ever join Grenada? Did Grenada sell him to Udenise, or did Dinamo do that?? Will this hurt his chances as a starter, if there was ever a chance at all at Grenada?
You know who is head and shoulders above GPS Kelava…….present day 85-yr old Vladimir Beara (for those of you have never heard of him, google him, might be the greatest Cro GK ever)
Kelava will see some time with Udinese now, as I think Brkic is injured. But I hate to say this, but being a Udinese fan, Brkic (who for those that don’t know, is a Serb) is head and shoulders above Ivan.
I think Hajduk signed Antonio Perosevic, from osijek. If true, it would be a great addition to the team…He’s been really banging them in the past two seasons.
Good one …
Kelava is lost, forgot to turn on his GPS.
BTW, he’s at Udinese.
Were is Kelava ? udinese or granada ?
Speaking of Genoa… We should poach their goalie Mattia Perin.
Born and raised in Italy, but a solid 20 year old prospect who is frustrated at not being called up for the senior squad. Somebody get Mamić on the phone.
😉
Thanks for the update iggy
There’s a cock down my pants.
Got to hand it Mamic……Vrsljako has done nothing in the last 18 months or so that would make anyone think he can be a success in Serie A and Mamic is still able to land 5-6 million for him. Sometimes a change of clubs can jump start a career.
Genoa*
Vrsljako is supposed to sign for genao today. These Italians really are going crazy for our players. I’m sure Mamic likes the EU…so does his bank account and the Porsche dealer
@Davor
Mate Tomas makes Mamic look like a saint.
Don’t get too excited.
@Davor……he might sit the bench in the EPL if he goes now, but he will be collecting a gaurenteed paycheck. If he stays in the HNL and gets hurt, the pay doesn’t come close to hat he gets in another league.
As for Elez. going on jadan hajduk’s rack record I doubt we hear about him five years from now.
Aussie Croat interested in Hajduk;
http://www.slobodnadalmacija.hr/Hajduk/tabid/83/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/215384/Default.aspx
I would like Halilovic to stay at least another year or so at Dinamo-afterall he has only played a few first team games in the mighty HNL and needs time to get physically stronger. Too early for him to go to EPL and will set bench anyway. At Dinamo he will hopefully get exposed to CL group stages- further enhancing his development. If he does well his transfer fee will sky rocket.
Glad Jedvaj went to defensive training school in Italy and not EPL.
Elez vs Jedvaj, which player will have a better career in rome?
I hope halilovic goes anywhere but arsenal. Even if there are no more croatians on tottenham, I am still a big fan.
COYS FOR LIFE!
To my san pedro natives, u guys know this guy
http://homes.yahoo.com/blogs/spaces/mansion-five-stories-mostly-underground-231816570.html
No chance the half mujo remains at Dinamo for more than a year…..
Actually, not even Mamic would have gotten much for Elaz. Not mich you can do with a player who has no pro contract…..Now, would have Mamic forced this kid and threatened him to sign a pro contract 6 months or a year earlier, like he does with others??? For sure.
Thank God Halilovic didn’t go to Spurs. He’s hasn’t fully developed physically for Premership play. Nor do I see Spurs as the ideal place for youth development.
Dinamo might as well keep him for 2 more years. If he fulfills his promise and becomes the Great Prophet of Croatian Football, then surely Dinamo can sell him for £20 million plus.
Roma is a better place for Jedvaj, in Italian football they will teach him tactical sense and solid positioning.
And about that Elez transfer, in which Hajduk got a mere €400k? C’mon Hajduk should get Mamic to handle their transfer affairs, as he surely would have gotten at least €2 million for the lad.
It’s hard to analyze a ton bc you don’t know all the details, but it seems levy is pinching pennies, again, with this one. Probably another reason they’ll never be a top 4 team (there’s some homer anger for you ziva)
I really don’t know what a player like halilovic should be getting paid or what is market, but for a player they could realistically sell for 15+ million euro in four years, paying the guy 100,000 euro a month instead of less than 70,000 euros doesn’t seem like it should be an issue
They’ll produce where they’ll play.
I think everyone is against Tottenham bc the douche baggery of Levy with the Modric transfer. Guess it depends from club to club. Gomez wanted to leave bayern, let him leave. Villa wanted to leave Barcelona, let him go for pennies. Jesus navas wants to leave Sevilla, he’s gone. Lewandowski wants to leave borussia, hes on for another year. Seems it depends on the club and situation. Money obviously isn’t the issue for lewandowski transfer but the club needs him so he stays, however I wouldn’t be surprised if his discontent affects his play. I think what players and fans expect is a level of professionalism. I don’t think you can say with a straight face that levy handled modric s transfer professionally. Yes, he did what was best for his club, but not what was even close to best for the rest of the parties involved. You don’t want to develop a bad name amongst players and agents; I think it won’t pay off in the long run
The only reason I wanted the two half mujos at Spurs was to hear some of the complaints that come from you jock sniffers. A few years ago it was all “Crottenham” all the time and homer comments about how good Spurs are or could be. Then all of a sudden it was Spurs is against hrvati.
Me, personally, I don’t care where any of our players play their club ball. I just want them healthy and producing for the repka.
Just watched an episode of NCIS for the first time in my life and there’s a chick on that show called Ziva. 🙂
I’m glad to see this transfer fall apart for Spurs.
I like the idea of Jedvaj going to Roma. The Italians invented defense, and he would likely learn more about playing real defense in Serie A than in the EPL. Plus, Roma (like all Serie A clubs) isn’t the type of team that can afford to drop 5M Euro on a player they don’t plan on playing. Whereas, EPL teams like Spurs will drop double that amount and just as easily bench the player for a full season or two (ie. Corluka). As an example, Mateo Kovacic gets to struggle and grow with Inter and we’ll benefit from it. Hopefully Jedvaj will get a chance to play some regular minutes this upcoming season with Roma (despite being young and being sold for much less).
As for Halilovic, I’d rather he go to Serie A or La Liga. I don’t think he’ll flourish as much in the EPL, and may get constantly injured due to the physical nature, but they are likely the only league that can meet his transfer fee. He’ll still be a star either way though. Just want to see this kid develop as best he can.
@Danny
Writing a post about that now. Too much info in one comment.
If it was your son who was a 17 year old phenom would you take less then market rate from Spurs who will hold you hostage down the road?
Bravo to the Halilovic team. Tired of seeing Hravti sign bonehead contracts. Like the second contract for Modric at Spurs.
Love to see Arsenal groom Haliliovic. Is Boro Primorac still blooding the youngsters ?
Not such a bad outcome for Halilovic. Fingers crossed a team like Arsenal pick him up this year or next.
i never said our group sucked……I said I expected us to place 3rd and be in the hunt for one of the final second rounds slots, but that I didn’t think much of our side….guess what, we lost in the second round. Uruguay making it into the finals doesn’t mean we had a hard or easy group.
Hajduk central defender Josip Elez to lazio for €400k. Same guy that tried out at man city.
Uruguay v France U20 final. You were right ziva, our group sucked
to you guys that know more bout the leagues, in theory which league will Tin progress better in?
since we are not opposed to importing some foreigners for the national team, how bout a solid future keeper? if we are going to have foreigners may as well get something we need
Fucking Italian clubs. Half the matches are fixed. Lazio and their capitain, Genoa, and Lecce, are all under investigation as of Today.
Not to sure what was going through Roma officials minds to pay so much for Jedvaj. He’s barely played much for us so far. Being farmed out on loan will be good progress for him though. I am not outraged by this transfer. I think its good business for us. I’m sure Tomislav Barbaric played a few good games for us at one point in time but that dont make him a multi million pound player. I’d like to reserve comment on Jedvaj till he’s had a full season. I’m glad Halilovic not gone as i would like to see what he can do in a Dinamo shirt. Not impressed by this Ivo Pinto signing. We may as well hold on to Sime now that we cashed in on Jedvaj. Far too many foreign signers. Argentine keeper does nothing for Croatian football either and Junior Fernandes probably will be a success but aren’t we just building up his price tag or nurturing him for Bayer Leverkusen. Would rather see Andrej Kramaric given a chance.
Come on Arsenal!
Pick him up!
True. I’m just expecting the worst, and hoping for the best.If the reports are true, Dortmund players much not have much loyalty and want to chase the fame. First Gotze not Lewandowski (maybe)
@zija
Klopp did say he was headed there. Im waiting for the official papers to go through before I start worrying.
except lewandowski is going to bayern after this season. Not so great news. I’ve always had a soft spot for Arsenal due to the Eduardo and Suker days, and they seem to help flourish youth development. I would much rather see Halilovic go to Arsenal then to Spurs
Bayern Munich sold Gomez to Fiorentina. Good news for Mandza
