Stipe Miocic is set to have the biggest fight of his career on May 24th in Las Vegas when he takes on former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos at UFC 173. With a win over Dos Santos, Miocic will surely put himself in title contention for a fight against Cain Velasquez.
More from the Crippler throughout the week…
A little late but Miocic is not fighting Dos Santos as Junior broke his hand. He will now be fighting late replacement and Light Heavyweight Fabio Maldonado. Miocic originally rejected the fight but was forced by the UFC to take it. More to follow in the up coming week.
He will get his ass kicked. Too big, too soon
Your mothers ass
What is Glory?
Cro cop was robbed with the decision last night on Glory 14.
you cunts saying this fight is too soon
ive thought that about nearly every one of his recent fights so far
and he’s surprised me how well he’s gone
who’s to say he wont kick the testes out of dos santos’ mouth ?
RIP HIS FUCKING TITS OFF STIPE !!
someone was doubting was i had said earlier that he will get a top 5 contender and then if he wins will fight for the belt before he won his last fight. I agree it is a bit too soon but again its not, should he off fought a lesser opponent first and then fought dos santos and then cain? No this is perfect, fight against the best or go home. Hoping for a huge upset here but honestly wouldnt be upset if Miocic goes the distance or roughs D.S up a bit just because i dont think he is quiet there yet but i really hope i will be proven wrong.
Wrestlemania XXX or a Croatian fighting in UFC… Hopefully they don’t fall on the same date. That would be like Allen’s version of “Sophie’s Choice.” 🙂
I hope Stipe’s deep bone bruise doesn’t linger like many deep bone bruises do, so he has sufficient time to train. If he’s 100% going into the fight, should be good.
Dude. Check out the opening words by cro cop in this radio interview he did today. HILARIOUS typical Croatian. I thought it was my tata for a second…

will this fight draw more of a crowd or the upcoming Wrestlemania.
Correction:
I meant 4th fight if dos santos wins
@Martin and Dave
I disagree with you guys about this fight with dos santos coming too soon. I think this is the perfect fight to have under his belt, win or loose. Who do you think would be a better suited opponent? Remember, all these guys want a title shot and it’s a perfect stepping stone for each opponent. Although I don’t see the point of a 3rd potential valesquez-santos title if Cain beats him and whoever else Dana throws at him. Anyway, stipe will be as ready as he’d ever be. The more fights under your belt, the more chances you have of suffering from a career ending injury. This will be a great fight

I agree with you. This fight is way too soon for Stipe. I respect he wants to climb up the rankings this fast but his still needs to learn. Do i think Junior dos santos is beatable? Yes i do. He gets carried away with his boxing. Based on Stipe’s last fight he does as well and he admited in a article that he sucked in the first round of his last fight. If he does that again Junior will put him too sleep.
I want him to win and will be chearing for him but i think his still not good enough and inexperienced for this fight. His only chance is if his team puts in a flawless game plan and Stipe follows it to a tee.
But you have to love his ambition and drive.
Do you guys watch the Croatian MMA Fight Nights on CroTV? Some of those guys are legit fighters. They always beat the Serbs.
This fight is too soon for Stipe…as much as I want him to win, he needed a few more fights before going toe to toe with someone like Dos Santos…
With Ziva loving UFC as much as he does, my guess is that his fortified basement money is going to be put down on Dos Santos…
Good luck Stipe…I hope you win, but whatever the result keep your head high…
Wow I thought they were going to do Barnett-JDS, but thank you Joe Silva for setting up this one. My heart is torn obviously Stipe is our guy, but Dos Santos was the first fighter I’ve ever interviewed. Super humble guy and super exciting to watch.
Best man win, this is going to a monumental upset if Stipe wins. Other than Cain Velasquez, nobody has come close to defeating Dos Santos. The resume of fighters that he’s destroyed are endless.
DAMN, if stipe beats DOS Santos he will be in title contention.
Huge fight for Stipe
wow, here is his chance… its almost equivalent to opening up the world cup against brazil, which ironically this dude is from brazil…
