Luka Modrić got the start and played the first 65 minutes in Real Madrid’s 6-2 La Liga win over Malaga Wednesday night. Modrić had a big day, assisting on Raul Albiol’s third minute corner kick header and adding one of his own in the 63rd minute, striking a low left-footed shot from 22 yards out off the right post and into goal, barely making it over the goal line.
Real Madrid are playing fantastic football at the moment, despite being one goal short of being in the Champions League Final with a domestic season which was always going to see them finish second, behind Barcelona. Luka Modrić is finally contributing the way he was planned to after his transfer in the summer, stringing together passes, shooting from the outside and running at opposing defenses.
Modrić goal vs. Malaga
In other news around Europe….
Darijo Srna and Eduardo are off to the Ukrainian Cup Final after defeating Sevastopol 4-2 Wednesday night, where they will meet Chornomorets on May 22nd. Chornomorets defeated Ivan Strinić’s Dnipro side 2-1 in the semifinals.
Modric is getting better and better
@Torcida Split
Loser. Hajduk won’t even make fourth place. lol
Split je naj boji grad. Hajduk je naj boji. Bog i Split. Sv. Duje i Hajduk.
@ TO HR
Serie A clubs aren’t run as poorly as Hajduk, but I was more referring to the fact that a lot of them aren’t financially sound. A lot of the time they have to sell players simply because they can’t either afford them or the club needs the money. Similar to some Spanish clubs and some English clubs a few years ago.
@ Ziva
I heard the same things about Rebic, they call him the next Boksic. I agree with you that it’s hard to think someone is going to pay that much for a young player, but look at Kovacic. Part of Kovacic’s big transfer fee was Mamic’s negotiating skills (telling reps from other teams to F themselves) and that Kovacic has so much potential. Also, forwards generally transfer for higher sums especially if they’re expected to produce off rip. I read an interesting interview with the Zuzul brothers. They said pretty much that they won’t transfer a player unless they can make big money off him and the player is going to a big club they want to be at. That’s why they told Mamic to piss off. I would expect something in the ball park of 6MM euro for Rebic only because some much is expected of him. Now, if HNS wasn’t so corrupt and they started using Rebic for the repka, well his stock would go through the roof because he would be seen on that international stage (ie Kalinic although he’s been some of what of bust from what Bilic was calling him; I just think he needs his confidence back, horrible problem for a forward to have).
good, lord another fake account.
I told you guys that if you really want to carry a conversation with me than get a hold of me on my twitter account (@ziva_istina). I have yet to fully embrace twitter, but I will engage.
Rebic…….I have not watched much of him, but those who have watched him in Split have told me he is a cross between Olic and mini-version of Boksic with his physical style. We will see. It’s just hard for me to believe to a team would pay anything more than a few million dollars for a guy in the NHL not with Hajduk or Dinamo.
The above person must be pretty pathetic to post under another users name.
Rebic is a runner. Kind of like an Olic-lite in that area but he actually has some skill. He’s very physical and strong too.
He’d do well in EPL and in the Bundesliga (assuming he can start).
@Mate
I did not realize Serie A clubs are so badly run like Hajduk. I always figured Serie A was in good shape minus the game fixing. Interesting post.
I wish I could post during work because then maybe more of this would be relevant, but here’s my two cents for this whole discussion.
Concert in Cleveland did change location, I’m forgetting why, but undoubtedly because the Slovenian hall didn’t want to catch any heat, so we moved the concert to the Croatian Centar where it was pretty much outside underneath a tent. Still good time.
Ziva, I’m loving the posts, but playing national team has something to do with getting transferred. That’s why Dinamo and Hajduk use it to their advantage and get all their players on the roster. This undoubtedly had something to do with Kovacic and Radosevic. Another good example is Eduardo and Mandzo. The french striker that went to Arsenal, Olivier Giroud, was originally supposed to go to Bayern; papers were already drawn and everything. They cancelled the transfer last minute because they wanted to sign Mandzo. Eduardo almost broke the goals for qualification for Euro 2008, gets signed for big money to Arsenal. So, yea, Halilovic is a stud, possibly next great, but playing at a major tournament at further stages will get him further faster. Another example is Eden Hazard. Let’s hope Halilovic is that good that quick.
From what I heard Rebic is a stud, but we’ll see. His stats weren’t that great this year, but everyone is raving about him. That tells me one of two things, he’s the type of forward that does more than score goals or his play with the U21s made people notice. I also agree that he shouldn’t go to Tottenham, not because of Corluka, Kranjcar or Pletikosa, but because Modric. Daniel Levy completely botched his transfer (for business reasons I understand) and because of it he wasn’t in good physical condition to start the League. Mourinho said it himself, all Modric needs is a good preseason, and you’ll all see why we signed him. He’s in good physical form now, and we all see what he’s made off. If I was a manager (which I’m not an ex-professional or crook so it won’t happen), Tottenham would be my last choice. You can’t trust that organization. However, for Rebic as a club it may be best because they do need a strong young forward (Adebayor is arguably out of his prime and we all know Bale won’t be there long). Going to either of the Manchesters, although unlikely, would hurt him big time because he wouldn’t play, especially at Man City. Pay would also be better in the EPL considering 90% of Serie A clubs are run about as well as Hajduk.
That is all, sorry for the page long post.
@Horvat
Cuz Mandzo came from Dinamo 🙂
Most of the time, young prospects in Croatia do not nearly live up to the expectations the Croatian media makes. However, sometimes they do.
Lets hope this Rebic kid becomes a great striker. He has some good qualities that can go a long way. He is fast, strong, has good dribbling and a good shot.
If Mandzo became a good player, why can’t he.
Ziva`s comment about Split has too much emotion attached to it. Something happened to him there. He`s just speaking with anger.
I had my car towed in Split last summer for parking on a sidewalk without enough space for pedestrians to walk by (deservedly so, I`ll admit it). Walked to a nearby cop station who called the Pauk Sluzba, got me a cab, and I spoke to the cop who was stationed at the Pauk Sluzba and they threw the ticket away.
Splicani are good folk and are very relaxed. Sometimes they can be intimidating (mainly due to the fact that everyone is like 6`5“) and the chicks are smoking hot (and know it). But you can`t take things like that personally and hate on them. Split is a good place and I make it my base there every summer.
@jm
Completely agree. Vida is like a goon, while Strinic is more graceful(if that’s the right word)
Just read what Mr. Negative – Ziva had to say . What an Asshole ! U talk shit about Our Beautiful City of Split ? Where are U from Dipshit ? Probably some 3rd World Selo where U still piss in a pot , & have no running water ! Split did Alot for Croatia during the war U Pizda ! Go back to your Basement ,& have fun banging your girlfriend Ms. HNS ! Think before U open your dumbass mouth . Also Please Stop saying your a Hajduk Fan ! Your a Fan of Nobody but Yourself U asswipe ! Have a Nice Weekend Jerk ! Bog, Hrvati , i Hajduk !!!
i think strinic is solid enough. i actually think he has some decent pace to him and he has considerably better ball skills than vida. vida seems to move well and is aggressive but i cringe anytime he has to make a decision with the ball
@nije bitno
You bet. Great point.
@Stipe
I don’t think Modric will be leaving.
I know modric is playing well, but idk, i kinda rather see him go to Man United or Chelsea….
@SteveDave bah way to crush my hopes!
@nije bitno good point about having to help cover with our CB situation
@Ziva
Wow. That comment about Split. You know that Cico will be all over you. lol
This is just my opinion. If we had solid center backs we would get more play from strinic at left back. Kind of like what Jarni use to do. He is no where near jarnis caliber in any way but Jarni was able to play forward more cause we had two solid center backs that could hold the load when counter attacks occurred.
Mourniho………he is polarizing, but he usually wins and wins big. He won Champions League titles at Porto and Inter. Enough said. When was the last time either one of those club won a CL title before he arrived.
Yes, he did not win one at Chelsea, but he left that club in much, much better shape than we he took over.
He’s not a long term answer because I don’t think he ants to be around for more than 3-4 years, but if you think you have the team that is close to a CL title, he is the guy you bring in.
@TheGoldenChild
Strinic plays due to our lack of depth at that position. He is average at best.
“Who else is a better option at left back for you?”
Robert Jarni
🙂
@Steve
A lot of guys don’t like him either, but I figure we gotta work with what we got. Who else is a better option at left back for you?
@TheGoldenChild
I gotta be honest with you as I am not sold in the product. However, I love your optimism. 🙂
@Poglavnik
Apparently that is who they are trying to bring in. Could be a rumor though.
@TGC
Yeah, and at times i kind of like the guy too, but like I said he wears-out his welcome, and his shtick becomes tiresome.
I see him more as a mercenary than a man with any stability.
@SteveDave
Absolutely!
A guy like that commands way more respect, than that eye-poking, smug little Port.
@Steve
Nice. Gotta love the stories that are going to start to come out once all the leagues finish. Rumor mill, rumor mill, rumor mill. Either way, I’d still like to see Strinic move up to the EPL, Italy, or Germany. I think he’s got a lot more potential, and hopefully he gets his time to step up to a little harder league and try and prove himself.
@Poglavnik
He’s one of those love hate guys. You can’t deny all the titles he’s won. I personally think he’s a good coach, but his antics make me want to root against him every so often. It’s all a part of who is he and how he does things though, and it’s all seemed to work for him up to this point.
@ ziva didn’t thompson fight in the war? wouldn’t that be classified as an act not just for money?
@Poglavnik
True. Ancelotti being one of them.
Sorry, “I couldn’t care less” is what I meant.
I hate when people f-up that phrase…
Mourinho is becoming over-rated to me. He wears out his welcome wherever he goes. He might be nice and chummy with most of his players but I could care less for the guy.
So many better managers in my mind.
@TheGoldenChild
Menadžer: Juve nije pitao za Strinića već za Antonija Milića

U dont like the riva? But it smells soooo good!
Yes, it was me with the quote…..no imposter (at least not yet). Only good thing about the city of Split is Hajduk and the women. The remainder can be burned.
@Nepoznat @Stipe
I’ve been seeing a lot of skepticism and utter fear from Madrid supporters now that Mourinho is most likely to move. It’s as if they see Madrid going into a dark time.
“If we can’t have utter success with Mourinho, who could they do it with?”
If that’s the case, Modric could step up and be a “savior” for the team just like he was seen at Tottenham.
@Nije Bitno
To je istina!
@Stipe yes there is a chance he leaves Real, however I think he will stay. Especially after how well he is closing out the season and playing these last few months he has earned his place in that squad (no small feat!)
@TheGoldenChild I agree 100% and thought the same thing about it being a ‘promotion’ to a bigger league
For those who haven’t seen Rebic before:

Thats the 4 brigada logo for those who don’t know.
@Poglavnik – i know your not a hajduk fan but they represent!
http://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datoteka:Pauci-Hajduk.JPG
@nepoznat
Good move for Strinic if it goes through. I’m always for players moving up to superior divisions. Better competition means an increase in his quality of play. Also, our players (for the most part) do well in Italy.
Respect the Hercegovci people!!!
Whatever the case, there will always only be one udarna Brigada according to Gotovina and that’s 4 Brigada. Once they are sent it and then calm down, that’s when you send in the 1st or 7th.
I just read it. My bad it was… Većina je bila iz Livna, zatim iz Tomislavgrada, Kupresa, Širokog Brijega, Trebižata, Ljubuškog, Stoca i Bugojna.
I thought it was mostly Bosanci and Hercegovci?
We know that but majority were mandrile (what we call splicani) and people from villages around split.
Agreeds but 4 Brigada wasn’t only Splicani and 1 or 7 Brigada weren’t just Purgeri. All of our Brigade had all regions in there.
I know, I know, but coming from Mr. “Jadan Hajduk” himself it just made me laugh!
@ Poglavnik and Ante, whats the big deal with what Ziva said? This is known by everybody but don’t forget during the war 4 spltska brigada was a beast. Im not a splico by any means just being real.
@Ziva
BEST, QUOTE, EVER!!! 🙂
I f**kin hope that was the real Ziva…
is there any chance modric will leave madrid after this season?
Looks like Marko Maric will be our future goalie. They are already calling him the new Pletikosa.
http://www.index.hr/sport/clanak/novi-pletikosa-mogao-je-ostati-austrijanac-u-hrvatskoj-sam-vidio-kako-se-navija-/677028.aspx
If that’s the real Ziva who wrote that about Split, wow.
LMAO
The City of Split attached a very high interest rate on that money. One big mess……thank god my family is not from Split. Dirty city and the biggest commie city in the Yugo era.
Brbic cant really say much or complain. The city of Split let Hajduk Borrow 30 million kuna to save Hajduk. I think Kerum could do whatever he wants in this situation but if he expects Veliki Hajduk to ever pay them back he better stop low balling them in scenarios like this.
Every year he has about 100,000 people come to Cavoglave for free. Who makes the money? all the people selling alcohol, janjetina, souvenirs and things of that sort. That’s just one free concert. Like i said and you already know, he has done many charity humanitarian events.
Again, he is first a husband and a father of 5. He will not always be singing and he is getting his money. All is legal and under contract. What he sings about is way deeper then this scenario. He has done many charity events and concerts. You cant expect them all to be free. Veliki Hajduk needs to get its act together and do whats best for Hajduk. They are at fault here and i wouldn’t call Thompson bluff on his music. Just through music he makes all those veterans feel great for what they did (cant say the govt does the same) and if they are all for him who are we to sit here and call bluff on him? He will still pack Poljud and any other venue in Cro and outside of Cro.
all correct……….but i don’t want to hear Thompson bitch about the average man/army vet being overlooked by the political leaders………the same political leaders he benefits from.
There is something very wrong being able to get a public structure for basically a fifth of the price for a non-charity related function/event.
Machine gun Thompson is what he is…….a money first guy who parades around as someone who cares about the people of Cro and those who fought in the war. He is money first, always has been and always will be. And there is nothing worng with that. But, I don’t buy his phony act.
Kerum is right wing like Thompson is. Thompson is not hurting the Croatian people by having this concert. Thompson is being a smart business man by taking the cheaper deal. Now, Hajduk and Kerum need to learn how to communicate better and do whats best for Hajduk. They obviously are not on the same page and do not communicate. Thompson got a sweetheart deal and signed a contract, exactly what i quoted above states. Again this has nothing to do with politics it has everything to do with business on Thompsons behalf. What Kerum is getting out of it, I dont know yet?? He may be doing it for political reasons. Would you purchase the same exact vehicle for 400,000 kuna more? I doubt it brate.
and 100,000 kuna for four days is still below market value. The figure should be around 500,000. The stadium is being rented out for 4 days, not just one day.
I don’t blame machine gun Thompson as much as I blame Kerum. Kerum gave him a sweetheart deal and machine gun Thompson is the beneficiary of it. But, next time Thompson sings or talks about how bad the govt is and how bad it is treating its own people, he should shut up because that same govt gave him a deal no other person can get. I guess for machine gun Thompson he can bitch and moan about croatian society and the political elite when it doesn’t benefit him. You wont hear him bitch about this or bitch about Kerum now.
Strinic to Juventus?
http://gol.dnevnik.hr/clanak/svjetski_nogomet/juventus-zeli-strinica-split-sprema-senzacionalan-transfer-rebica—285697.html
Ante B – This person said
“Thompson će uplatiti na ime Hajduka čiji je i vatreni navijač 100.000 kuna te pokriti sve troškove režije održavanja koncerta (koji nisu baš zanemarivi).”
A person nailed this situation perfectly.
Ako dođe do nekakvih oštećenja organizator će ih sanirati i vratiti u prvobitno stanje. Također (kao i puno puta do sada za bolnice) od navedenog koncerta Thompson će izdvojiti novac za donaciju KBC-u Split.
Thompson se i ovaj put potrudio da cijena ulaznica bude pristupačna svima s obzirom na financijsko stanje većine građana, pa bi cijena ulaznica za sjever koštala 50, travnjak 70, a istok i zapad 100 kuna. “
Is that Thompsons fault or Kerums? If your going to purchase something (Poljud) for 4 days and one person is giving you a price of 100,000 kuna and the other of 400,000 kuna what would you pay? The problem here is not Thompson. It’s how Poljud is ran. This would never happen in the states.
Well, yesterday we were arguing about Thompson and his concert that will take place in Split. I argued that the city was giving the stadium for nothing to Thompson and that was unfair and just more of the same from Kerum and the political leadership in Cro.
Well, lookie, lookie here…….Today hajduk comes out and says they are not a fan of what took place and that if normal procedures would have taken place hajduk should have made around half million kuna. Again, for those of you not aware, the city of Split has given Thompson the stadium for free for four days. In any other situation a rental fee would need to be paid, that usually goes to hajduk, and in this case the rental fee for four days is at least a half million kuna.
So, for those of you arguing yesterday if Thompson was a dinamo fan or a hajduk fan…….well, the answer is very clear that he is not a hajduk fan. Thompson is a fan of money and nothing more……Because of machine gun Thompson, Hajduk is being screwed out of 500,000 kuna. Jadan hajduk, indeed!!!!!!
I had this yesterday, the cro media has this today………I think I need to use a slogan from my friends at Fox News……..I report, you decide!!!!!!
Tottenham the ideal club for Rebic, claims agent – http://bit.ly/ZTxilD
FK zELJEZNICAR – Je, Thompson ce najvirojatnije doci u Los Angeles. Sibenik? sta ces raditi u Krešimirov grad?
and we need Italy v Russia to be a 0-0 draw OR one team wins
Hope 17u can score big against Ukraine next match.
@ Nije Bitno
Croatia has not been friendly to tax right offs around charitable donations. I hope that changes in the future as that is an area many social prenuers could make a difference.
@ Ante
It is more like Real need to play with the Modric system.
We cannot under estimate the politics around the club this season that Modric was thrust into.
Agreed, with his pin point control and passing he needs to score more for club and Croatia.
Ancelotti will get the best out of him. Modric is a dream to coach as he is world class player who competes for the team.
He is peaking in time for our epic World Cup run.
@ nije bitno.. pa hoce li thompson ici tamo kod vas ili ne? i idem za sibenik za cetiri dana. Sijetit cu se tebe
How about those Pittsburgh Penguins???? Where’s the Crippler?? Need some Pittsburgh love in here from someone besides me.
No. The higher the pick the better.
If a team picks you with a lower pick, there is little pressure on the team to play you. If the team’s GM uses up a valuable lottery pick on you, then the team is more willing to go through some growing pains with you as they used up a valuable asset (the high pick) to get you on their squad. The sooner you develop, the better that GM looks.
It’s the same thing with soccer transfers. I hate hearing that one of our players was sold for cheap (ie. Radosevic). The team never feels pressure to play you. Whereas if a team spends quite a bit on you (ie. Kovacic) the team is much more willing to take a risk on playing you more minutes, hence fast forwarding your development.
All the Saric draft talk is still premature. We can talk about Saric’s athleticism and attitude all day, but the real evaluation will happen during the pre-draft workouts. Saric will play PF in the NBA, so that will help him out. He will also kill it in the pre-draft workouts due to his measurements and skillset. It will be interesting to see which team takes him. There was a recent ESPN article that suggested that the Mavs would take him. That would be a good organization to rebuild with, and be a part of for their future. The worst thing that can happen to Saric is being drafted by a disorganized mess of an organization like the Bucks, who wouldn’t know how to develop him.
Worst thing for him would be to go higher than expected. That would create even higher expectations for him.
His problem will be his lack of athleticism. He is not quick or fast. Which is OK if he had a good outside shot. Very streaky.
Not sure how many of you guys follow or have followed European hoops. But, Saric reminds me of Dejan Bodiroga. A very accomplished all around player who did great in Europe. Was the best player in Europe for a decent stretch. he also wasn’t very athletic, but he knew the game. That’s what I see in Saric. But, the biggest reason I don’t see him as someone who will excel in the NBA is his attitude. he is in for a shocking awakening in the NBA.
unfortunate to see sari get in trouble but i still think the guy has talent. and he keeps creeping up the espn mock draft boards. i think there will be someone out there that reaches for him and he goes higher than expected. here s a cool espn article talking about his potential
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/blog/_/name/nba_draft/id/9230683/2013-nba-draft-dario-saric-high-nba-ceiling
Man, AIK has some hardcore fans. They also have a lot of history and a very nice stadium as well.
Despite all of this, It’s shocking to see how bad the Swedish league is (considering the average Swede has a high enough income to actually pay for a semi decent product on the field).
AIK would probably get easily beat out by Lokomotiva Zagreb in a match.
@Crorupt
Great video and loved the Croatian flags in the crowd. Still such a sad situation he has two little girls and his wife is pregnant.
@ nije
I guess I consider myself somewhat of a ‘leftist’ but I’m with you on the Damir Kajin thing. Him and the IDS do some good things for Istra, just so the folks in Zagreb don’t rob us blind – but c’mon, you’re gonna let some Serbian turbo serbo act come and not let a Croat singing about the domovina perform? Disgusting… I’m all for some liberal views, but jesus, they make it sound like he’s singing about satan or killing people.
@ Ziva, does the name Damir Kajin ring a bell? That’s just one guy there are many other reasons why they wont let him sing there but I’d rather not get into that cause I’d get swarmed by all the lefties on this site.
That Pula situation was and is a joke. No clue why they wont allow Thompson but have no issues with other acts.
have you guys seen the video of fans mourning Ivan?

@ Ziva – A person wrote this under comments in that link i sent you regarding Thompsons concert in Poljud. I completely agree with him 100%.
“ako se grad Split ne buni, ne vidim problem.
Problem je recimo u Puli, gdje bi se stadion i platio ali tamo je “na snazi” zabrana jednom pjevacu koji bi na legalan zakonski nacin htio organizirati koncert za svoju publiku.
Do danas taj nedemokratski potez nije nitko obrazlozio.
Thompson u Hrvatskoj nije zabranjen ! ”
Just want to hear your thoughts on that.
@Ante B.
I don’t even know where to start.
Congratulations, I guess…
I was so jaded after losing to Boston in 2011 that I literally hadn’t watched a full game again until this spring.
Hate Bettman, the league and the refereeing so much that i just stepped away.
This from a fan that grew up listening to every game on the radio back when only about 20 games a year were televised.
So this spring i decided to watch the Canucks and I just gave up on the league again.
It’s such a shame that the best hockey league in the world is so poorly run.
And as far as the Canucks go, I just don’t really like this group.
I don’t like being regular season studs and playoff chokers.
Give me the days of being a #7 or #8 seed and playing tough as nails anyday over being Presidents trophy winning pussies!
I’m sure you Shark fans can relate to that! 🙂
Ultras Zrinjski!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck Cocknucks Go ISLANDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fk zELJEZNICAR – Znan, tamo kod vas je malo gore. Svaki dan pogledan sta ima novoga na ovu stranicu.
@ Ziva – You were right. A buddy of mine from Cleveland just confirmed that the Thompson concert was supposed to be at some Slovenian Dom then the serbs cried. They had it at the Hrvatski Dom instead.
“Thompson is fan of all thing croatian that will pay him”
Ziva govoris zivu istinu.
As far as his concert in Poljud, I would like to see him pay for the use of stadium, and, then, let’s see how much will he donate.
koliko cesto dolazite vamo u posjetu?
@Ante B
“I’m not saying hajdukovci are commies” This was a good line and love how you bring the those ass holes SDP in the mix.
@ nije bitno haha not as corrupt ko ovi nasi u bosni hahahah. Hej nisam mogoa dodat sliku. Pisalo mi je ima previse mgpx. Jbg ali nema veze bitno da se mozemo cut.
Swept by the morski psi hahaha
Kings should get this game at home tomorrow to advance.
Hey Poglavnik,
How bout them Cannucks? 🙂
Signed,
A Sharks-Blackhawks fan
It makes his scenario very weird having a concert for hajduk too (if what your saying is true)
Thompson in Vancouver was like front page news here. I’m pretty sure both his Toronto and Vancouver shows were cancelled or he ended up playing some underground venue that the mainstream (jewish) media didn’t know about.
I didn’t believe Thompson was a dinamovac at first either but then again in a world where the leader of SDP, a rodeni Zagrepcanin, commie is a hajdukovac, anything is possible. I’m not saying hajdukovci are commies. I’m just using how weird his scenario is.
I’m not saying Thompson doesn’t do concerts and events for charity…he does.
I just dont like this deal he got from the city of Split and the use of Poljud for nothing.
not as idiotic as us younger men are.
Mladen Grdovic is cool like that so is klapa intrade. They will sing zagorske pisme all day long and maybe a song for dinamo. Thompson had a full on concert with coce for hajduks 100th in posusje. i doubt Intrade or grdovic would do that for dinamo fans. Then again i might be wrong cause these older guys are not as idiotic as ass younger men are. Ziva maybe right too but that concert in posusje was 100% humanitarian (so they say).
@nepoznat………..so, a team is not allowed to bench a player (Corluka) for poor play.
What did they lie to Pletikosa about?????
Luka wasn’t lied to ….his contract clearly stated what he could and could not do.
Spurs is in the soccer business, not in the “lets make sure all of our players are happy” business.
And I have a video of Grdovic singing zagorske pjesme and Dinamo ja volim in San Jose. Does that make him a dinamovac?
Thompson is fan of all thing croatian that will pay him.
not that i dont believe you but send me the link with him saying that. i can send you a link of him singing in posusje with a big hajduk grb on the screen behind him while singing torcida razara sa sjevera.
It does but if the guy from his own mouth says, ja san dinamovac then I literally have to take his word for it. That marks another guy from Dalm Zagora who is a dinamovac. Boban and Thompson.
I guess him having a concert in posusje with coce for torcida posusje celebration to hajduks 100 year doesnt hold water either too.
It holds water, but him singing a song for torcida doesn’t?
What about Thompson being on Knjaz’s show admitting he is a dinamovac? Does that not hold water either?
@Ziva I am referring to benching of Vedran, lying to Luka, lying to Stipe… benching of Niko is understandable because he’s not a top class player. Not whether or not they ‘played’, but their overall treatment
This is a guy writing something with Thompson not backing anything up. Thompson backed it up himself singing a song for Torca.
I bet you he’s a clan of hajduk too that the way the guy rolls.
Nope, he’s a dinamovac. Confirmed.
http://www.24sata.hr/news/24sataexpress-kako-je-biti-glavni-dinamovac-u-splitu-221012
“…nasi najpoznatiji clanovi su Marko Perkovic Thompson…”
I know he’s against BBB and Torca fighting cause a few years back before a hajduk dinamo game in maksimir he met both teams at midfield and hugged both while singing lijepa li si. At the same time you don’t sing a song for torcida but your a dinamovac.
Plus, I’m not buying 12 million for Rebic. Seems way too high for a team in cro not named Dinamo.
Ante B – I really dont care what he is but to my knowledge he’s a Hajdukovac.
learn the lessons of Niko, Stipe, Vedran, and Luka??????
Stipe was brought in a 3rd choice keeper. Nothing for him to bitch about.
Niko, Vedran and Luka all played.
Thompson a hajdukovac?!? First I’ve ever heard of that. I know he sings that song about Torcida but he’s a dinamovac and has been!
sent the Modric goal video to a friend and we were discussing it… has anyone ever seen a goal that went off both goal posts AND the crossbar and then went in?!?
Requests were made for Thompson to speak with the media and at least give his version…..he refused. instead, he and his people were setting up logistics and telling people not to let in the media or speak with the media. That type of attitude gives the impression he/we are hiding something.
I don’t know who Rebic is but I highly recommend he look elsewhere… Spurs is a terrible place for Croatian players to go, he should learn the lessons of Niko, Stipe, Vedran and Luka
I think they had a change in Cleveland as well. Someone from Cleveland can confirm. According to what I heard it was originally scheduled for a place near downtown Clev.
The Toronto event was a joke. The organizers were sending emails on the morning of the event and telling people not to share the info.
Norval, Ontario my bad.
I read about the protesters in NY but i thought he still had the concert at its original location. The only other place to my knowledge was Toronto. Instead of the venue he was originally supposed to have the concert, he had it at the Croatian Park. Everything else went per plan to my knowledge.
The price wasn’t the issue. I’m willing to pay whatever for his concerts as well and have. It was Thompson’s conduct and disregard for croatians in the USA and Canada. He cared more about ticket sales than how hrvati were being portrayed by local media. Remember, this was the tour that had a few venues cancel on him because the serbs or jews did a good job in making claims he was singing anti-semetic tunes. And what did machine gun Thompson do?????? Hid in slience and had hrvati is a few cities running around trying to find the concert location last minute. Made hrvati in those towns look like they were hiding in order to listen to “anti-semetic tunes.”
I would pay 100 bucks or whatever it was to see Thompson again on a Sunday night here in LA no problem. Wouldn’t even think twice.
Interesting development in the Marko Azapovic story.

big difference…………The klapa acts were part of a bigger show organized by the city and only used up one side of the stadium. The city of Split ran and organized those events. Since they own the stadium, the profited from the tickets sales, advertising, tv rights, etc…and paid those klapa acts a fee to perform.
This is handing over a public stadium to a person for no fee. Now, if the event was 100% for charity, fine no issue. But machine gun Thompson will be taking home a majority of the profits and that is where the problem begins. Still not as bad as what he did a few years back when he toured the US and Canada.
I would like to see how much all those klape pay to use poljud every summer. Bet you nowhere near 100,000 kuna. I bet you Miso Kovac didn’t pay that much either. To my knowledge i don’t know of any other singers that even sang in Poljud. I still think out of all those domace singers Thompson gave more then any of them even though you say he’s getting it almost free. Unfortunately, this is how business in Cro goes. A few people get the lump sump and everybody else enjoy the concert. Croatia is corrupt when it comes to this.
@majstore……..Hajduk actually has cleaned house compared to what it was a few years ago. The problem will continue to be the former players who are now agents.
not sure…..but, either way that is not the point. He is getting a public facility for free. That is total BS. I listen to Thompson’s music (I like the tunes), I just don’t like Thompson after the shit he pulled on his last tour in the United States.
By the way, a little off topic here……..any more Dario Saric fans here. Everyone was claiming he was the next big thing in Cro basketball. This kid was bust listed all over him. DUI arrest, now another booze-related suspension from Cibona.
Not a fan of hajduk, but it’s sad to see what they have turned into. If I were a supporter, I don’t think I’d want to attend any matches, buy merch or anything like that until I knew that they had cleaned house and I knew that the money was going in the right place to the right people.
I wonder if a boycott to this effect could accomplish anything like that.
In other news, rumours of the sale of Rebic to Spurs are floating around.
Does he get a tax write off in cro for donating to charity?
Well done by Thompson…..donating 100,000 to “charity” is what the crnci in the USofA with their charity associations. They put their family members on the payroll and give them 6-figure salaries and the actual money going to charity is minimal. In a way this is the same thing……Getting the stadium for nothing and then giving a minor sum to a hospital and some money to Hajduk to appease the idiot Hajduk fans who cant think for themselves.
@ ante kvartuc come on? 10 goals from outside the box? lets stay realistic
@nije bitno………umm, want to bet. Renting out Poljud and paying for security and other associated expenses are much more than 100,000 kuna. He is getting a sweetheart deal that probably no other person in Cro would be able to get unless they are buddy/buddy with Kerum. 100,000 kuna is around $17,000 – $18,000 if the math in my head is correct. Poljud is a public facility, not some private wedding hall. So, now we have Thompson indirectly stealing from the public and cashing in at the same time (“Ej, moj narode” indeed). 100,000 to Hajduk and a hospital is nothing considering how he and Kerum are raping the city.
I’m not shocked. Looks at the leadership of that city in Split. Only they can build a new sports arena and within a few years shut it down because of bankruptcy.
Speaking of Surjak……he should be in prison for murder.
@ majstore – that money will go to Surjak lol
Ziva, he is donating 100,000 kuna to Hajduk and an unknown lump sump to KBC in split. I highly doubt any other singer paid 100,000 kuna to sing in Poljud.
So he is donating 100,000 which will in turn be stolen like all of the other money that probably goes into hajduk lol
Actually, that concert is total BS. Thompson is getting the entire stadium for free. He should be charged the same as any other act that would want to rent it out.
I got nothing agianst against machine gun Thompson, gone to plenty of his concerts, but he should be charged to use the stadium by the city.
Add it was left footed…class
http://www.vecernji.hr/scena/zeljko-kerum-besplatno-ustupa-poljud-thompsonu-koncert-clanak-550884
@ Ziva – Look Thompson is being the big Hajdukovac that he is and helping your Veliki Hajduk out. He’s donating 100,000 kuna to Hajduk from the concert he’s going to have June 30th in Poljud.
not often you can hit a goal in off BOTH goal posts!
Dayum modric
We know Modric can score the occasional goal from outside the box, but four is still not enough for a player of his caliber and what they paid for him. He should be scoring 10 of those per season.
But I think him being in the Real system has really improved his outside shooting and confidence. It can only benefit the national team.
I could care less about Real.
So long as Modric continues his good form into next season, and is prime for WC2014.
Modric World Class!
Modric can hit the long shot, now someone needs to teach Shotgun Wedding Rakitic how to head the ball.
allegedly all 4 of modrics goals this year are from outside the box. who says he can’t shoot front the outside?!
Talk about placement.
