We all saw how the new 2008 Croatian dark blue road jerseys looked against England back in November. They remind me of the 1998 blues with checkers only underneath the armpits. The home jerseys, which have always consisted of the red and white checker design, have not yet been officially released by Nike, but these pictures show what they are probably going to look like. Nothing is official yet and my guess is that we will see the new home jerseys in action for the first time in Split when Croatia plays the Netherlands in a friendly on February 6th.
I don’t like this idea of changing uniforms every 2 years. Nike only made a few minor changes from the last generation jersey- they added checkers to the top and bottom of the backside. If Croatia somehow fails to get out of the first round of Euro ’08 this summer, I claim they end the ‘Nike Curse’ and go back to wearing Lotto!
