Ante Rukavina will not be playing for Hajduk Split this season. The 22-year old striker has been sold to Greek club, Panathinaikos FC, for a reported 2.8 million euros. Rukavina scored 10 goals in 28 games for Hajduk since 2007. He was the alleged savior for the club but it looks like the pressure got to him. We all know that Hajduk has been falling in stature in the last few years both on the field and in management.
This is not Ante’s fault though. How much can you possibly expect from a 21-year old? I hope he does well in Greece and that Bilić calls him up for some World Cup 2010 qualifiers. He has not yet been capped by the national team and it is time to see if Rukavina can cut it on the international scene.
Let;s see this new player. He seems to be good and very talented guy…!! He has to be patient thought and it will be his profit as he will be training next to good players.I hope all the best to him and i love croatian players. Even though the lasts that they ve been in panathainkos were rubbish sorry (e.g. biskan, saric, maric, andric, ….). But they way… u should add rukavina to the votes 🙂 !!!! This year we see panathinaikos..!!! Bye brothers!!
Good… I’m glad Rukavina is out of the quagmire called Hajduk. Now in another atmosphere he will really be able to develop and show his talents.
