In case you missed it last night, Croatian-American Stipe Miocic knocked out Brazilian Fabricio Werdum in two minutes and 13 seconds to be crowned the new and undisputed UFC Heavyweight champion. The 33 year-old Miocic is born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio to immigrant Croatian parents. With the title, Miocic snaps Cleveland’s 51-year old streak of not having a professional champion. Obviously, UFC sits outside the four major American sports.
Miocic KO’s Werdum
What’s next for Miocic?
He’s getting married in a few weeks to his fiance. However, a title defense (most likely in Las Vegas) can be expected sometime later this year.
More from the Crippler on Miocic later this week.

@Ante B, I’m actually in the process of moving there as we speak. Next week I’m shipping 2 40 foot containers from Long Beach and then in 60 days I’ll be there. I’m hoping we start construction on my house in the next two weeks.
Regarding sports radio, I think it has the potential, the problem would be to make money you’d need advertising and on top of that with how things work over there it would probably take a LONG time to get the license. Now something that was over the internet like what Rogan does would probably do really well i.e. live podcast.
This croatian sports racket is a millionaires club
Have we just unintentionally made our millions JP? I say we hop on that shit immediately.
Unsolicited, but that seems like a really good idea to me Ante B.
monkey brazil goat smegma juice drinker, feather plucking samba horse penis suck, brazilian pig mongoloid walking horse cum ape face dancing, juicy brown dog fart eater. Brazil #1!
Mishko,
One of the best podcasts out here. Quick question for you Mishko…you live in Croatia if I remember correctly? Do you think something akin to AM sports radio would do well in Croatia?
Great post match break down by Rogan and crew. The love our Stipe.

@Jarac
You stated your piece because of the “clowns” though, so I imagine it’s adressed to the “clowns,” so you’re saying that me and Rocky mountains are “clowns,” in my opinion there’s only one reason a person would call two people having a cordial exchange of comments “clowns,” do you want to hear it?
@Rocky Mountains
On Stipe Miocic’s wikepedia page, it says nationality American, ethnicity Croatian.
So if you can be an African American, why can’t a person be a Croatian American? You said it can’t be that way, I would like to hear your reason why!
@Lazio
I don’t have a problem with that, I stated my piece.
@ Bobby V,very well said,too much division within the community.We have to embrace one another.Hrvat uz Hrvata
@Jarac
Rocky Mountains bought it up, he’s got his opinion, I’ve got mine, we exchanged some comments, it was all cordial.
Why have you got a problem with that?
I consider Miocic a Croatian, by the sound of Bobby V’s comment I don’t think he’d have a problem with me for that.
Couple of years ago I said who gets a title first for Cleveland, Stipe or Lebron? Stipe did it. Congratulations!
My son graduated from Kent State University in Ohio Saturday night and I was in town and lucky enough to watch the fight in a sports bar there with a group of guys who grew up with and trained with Miocic.
The first thing I heard when I entered was someone yelling “U pizdu materinu” – haha, I knew it was going to be a fun night.
They told me that he always talked about Croatia, his parents speak little to no English and was one of the most positive out-going, down-to-earth person they all have ever met.
One guy played baseball with him at Cleveland State.
They also said that he understands Croatian pretty well, but, struggles to speak it – a few words here and there.
The place went crazy when he landed his punch. I felt like a kid again celebrating and having beer spilled all over me.
Stipe is a first generation kid who almost would rather be considered Croatian than American. It is the same way I feel – although I speak the language, I would never hold that against him or anyone else who has such pride.
We have idiots on this site that don’t understand that it is the ultimate compliment to wanting to be considered Croatian over the country you were born in.
They sit behind their computer and judge who should and shouldn’t be let into the “Croatian Club” – fucking idiots – as if they have accomplished 1% of what this first generation kid just did.
Well done Stipe! You are more Croatian than most of the people born there.
Big congrats to Stipe, bravo!!!!
And nice work as always Crippler!
You clowns always gotta bring up this whole are you croatian bs. There’s 2 reasons for this. One is your a yugoslav/udba/troll and want to divide the community. Another is you want to make yourself feel better because you consider yourself a better/bigger Croat. Both pathetic reasons. Carry on..
AWESOME PERFORMANCE BY STIPE MIOCIC!!!!!
That counter punch was executed with such perfect balance and technique. Makes me proud to be a HRVAT!!!
You can see the country voting break down here.

Eurovision?????
Hrvati voting for serbs and serbs voting hrvati at Eurovision always goes on. Plus, can you really be surprised with how much hrvati love serb music. Makes me sick, but it is, what it is.
Mongoloid going down face first might help his brain, become a soccer player, samba dance instructor, feather plucker/dancer, fluffer.
Now as a people we need to focus on winning The Eurovision.
Sad to see where we finished. Also why do so many Croats vote for the Serb contestant?
Don’t get race and nationality confused. Race is eternal.
Any words from Cro-Cop on this epic win?
You’re American…. an American Croatian if you like.
It’s quite simple. What makes your parents Croatian? Is it because they’re born there?
If so, why do the rules change when applied to the next of kin? Can’t have it both ways.
I didn’t take it as an attack, just asked a question.
My parents are both Croatians, so what is my ethnicity, if I was born in America?
I just stated a fact my friend, I’m not here to discuss America’s racial history. If you went to Croatia, I’d put Ziva’s entire betting account (which would be huge, he’s never wrong) that they’d call you an American first – I doubt they’d even follow up with Croatian, depends how nice the feeling.
Also ironic you bring up ethnicity with a username of Lazio.
My comment wasn’t an attack, just staying the facts. Stipe may fall under different rules in Croatia now that he has cash and a profile, but every other member of diaspora is just an ethnic in Croatia….. unless you’re buying drinks.
Bravo Stipe!
Did you read him on Twitter. He said “Cleveland and Croatia, we did it”. He sure is Croatian.
I think he’s a guy who could be posting on Croatian Sports.
So an African American is an American African?
Why do they put the ethnicity first, answer me that Rocky mountains?
The fact that he’s born in the USA would make him an American-Croatian, not the other way around.
Just saying.
Neka pati, koga smeta, Hrvatska je prvak svijeta
Neka samo suze rone, mi imamo šampione
Stipe Majstore, Stipe Majstore
Looking forward to seeing who he will fight hopefully in vegas next im guessing either overheem or velasquez. Would be nice to organize a trip.
