Bayern Munich are coming off a historic season which saw them win the European ‘treble’: Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB Pokal titles. But with former FC Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola now at the helm, more changes are happening at the club than ever before. It has been announced that Frenchman Franck Ribery will be moving from his natural winger position to a “Lionel Messi true #10” attacking role with 21 year-old Borussia Dortmund transfer Mario Gotze being added to the Munich midfield.
But where does that leave the other two Mario’s? Mandžukić and Gomez.
Croatian striker Mario Mandžukić was rumored to be leaving Allianz Arena this summer after the best season of his career, scoring 15 Bundesliga goals and adding on three Champions League goals for good measure. However, that now looks unlikely as Mario Gomez, whom Mandžukić replaced in the Bayern starting XI last season due to injury, now has one foot out the door as manager Pep Guardiola has made it clear that the 27 year-old German striker can leave the club. Front runners for Gomez’s services at the moment are Serie A club Fiorentina, ESPNFC reports.
With Bayern already solid up top with Thomas Muller and now Ribery making the transition to a more attacking role, what will that mean for Mandžukić if Gomez stays with Bayern? Surely Pep has to implement ‘The Baron’ in his plans after the stellar season he just came off of.
Which ‘Super Mario’ will get the short end of the stick in Bavaria?
This’s best picture for the new season in the Bundesliga, (y)
but i think only one is super Mario…. 😉
Mandzukic Of course! !!! 🙂 🙂
I’m pretty sure Tupac was Dalmatinac.
How pathetic, everytime I come across Croatian sports portals lately and if there’s talk about getting a new player, it’s always some non-name afro. There’s already plenty of good Croatian players in Croatia, even after the best ones go to other European leagues, there’s plenty of Hungarian, Argentinian, Polish, Russians, Ukranians, Norwegian, Czech etc etc players that are much better quality players, but then that doesn’t fit in with the afro sports quota, same goes with basketball. Always the soccer and basketball. soccer and basketball, soccer and basketball. Lets import some afro rappers, Croatia doesn’t have enough genuine grill and illiterate stupid look on faces rappers. Lets start a petition, Croatia is not filling its african rapper quota.
as I know Jelavic is a good striker on the National team > not in the club . but the other striker like manza can be top of striker in his club . as my magnificent .. please to fucking Stimac to make Jelavic in the starting lines up !! You are an idiot when Jalavic hasnt chance againts Scotland before .

Well, if Mario Gómez leaves Bayern for Fiorentina it will be almost inevitable that Mandzukic takes the spot – Since Lewandowski is not leaving Dortmund -.
Ribery can’t play as a forward and he is not even near of becoming a lonely centre forward type of player. Same for Robben, Müller, Shaqiri and Götze!
Now, what I think Bayern will do is play a 4-3-3 formation, the same that Pep used in Barça (Using a ‘false-9’ role that will be taken by Mario Götze)
Neuer in the goal; Boateng, Dante, Badstuber, Alaba in the defense; Kroos/Müller, Javi Martínez and Schweinsteiger in the midfield – All of them playing as natural central midfielders- And a line of three forwards: Ribéry on the left, Robben in the right and GÖTZE playing the ‘Messi role’ wich will make him able of playing behind defenders.
Hopefully Mario (Mandzukic) leaves this season so he can keep playing, cause if he stays he is going to be left in the bench.
Ziva you think Mario will be starting again for Bayern this time under Pep?
he wont for sure
i doubt he remembers how be lucky if he gets one from outside the 6 yard box let alone the penalty box rofl
Mandza will be fine as long as Ribery, Robben and Mueller are in that line up. Tap in goals will still be there for him.
Here is a bet…….Anyone willing to put something on the line (money/item (I’ll even buy one of you guys a jock sniffing jersey) that Mandza will not score one single goal this year from outside the PK box.
