It was a devastating blow to us all when we found out that Eduardo would miss the European Football Championships this summer. However, now that we know he will make a full recovery within 10 months and that his career is not in danger, we need to start talking about who will replace him for the rest of the year and most importantly Euro 2008. Here are the candidates given that … [Read more...] about WHO WILL REPLACE EDUARDO?
The BBC has reported that Eduardo da Silva is now back at home after being discharged from a London hospital early Wednesday afternoon. His left leg will be cemented in plaster for the next 6 to 8 weeks giving the bone time to fully heal. After doctors conclude that the left leg is fully healed and fit enough, he will begin physical therapy which is expected, if all goes to … [Read more...] about EDUARDO OUT OF HOSPITAL
All of us at the Croatian Soccer Report would like to wish Eduardo a happy 25th birthday and a quick, complete recovery. It's obviously not the best birthday under these circumstances but you have much, much more soccer to play in your life. Keep your chin up and see you on the pitch soon. Sretan Rođendan! -CSR … [Read more...] about HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDUARDO!!
Uefa.com has made it official-Eduardo WILL NOT PLAY IN EURO 2008. He sustained compound fractures to his tibia and fibula of the left leg after an atrocious tackle by Birmingham's Martin Taylor. No disciplinary action has been taken yet by the Premiership on Taylor, but I'm sure they'll come up with something good within the next 2 weeks. Hopefully Eduardo makes a full and … [Read more...] about EDUARDO HOSPITAL REPORT

We both agree that the current system is flawed and does no justice to where teams really should be ranked. I would love to have feedback from all of you soccer … [Read more...] about SOCCER TALK: FIFA RANKINGS
Croatia fell 2 spots down to #12 in the February 2008 FIFA World Rankings. Greece moved up to #10 and England took the 11th spot with their 2-1 win over the Swiss at Wembley earlier this month. The top nine remained the same from January. This means absolutely nothing for Croatia and only furthermore proves my point of how horrible the FIFA Ranking system is and why it needs to … [Read more...] about CROATIA FALLS TWO SPOTS IN RANKS
Slaven Bilić and his team said that this result would show them where they stood in European ranks- and what I saw from this match is that they have a lot of work to do if they want to do any damage in this year's EuroCup. Croatia was playing at home with their 'A' team starting roster while Netherlands were without stars Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robin van Persie and Arjen … [Read more...] about LACKLUSTER PERFORMANCE BY CROATIANS LEADS TO 3-0 LOSS
Croatia will be playing what looks to be like their final friendly before Euro 2008 starts versus Slovenia. The game will take place on May 23rd and it will be in neighboring Slovenia. The city and venue has not yet been named but my guess would be the capital city- Ljubljana. Stay tuned for more Euro 2008 news and rumors as it approaches. … [Read more...] about FINAL FRIENDLY ANNOUNCED
We all saw how the new 2008 Croatian dark blue road jerseys looked against England back in November. They remind me of the 1998 blues with checkers only underneath the armpits. The home jerseys, which have always consisted of the red and white checker design, have not yet been officially released by Nike, but these pictures show what they are probably going to look like. … [Read more...] about POSSIBLE 2008/2009 HOME JERSEY DESIGN??
