Croatian super-midfielder, Luka Modrić, has made UEFA’s ‘Ten Best’ list for Euro 2008. This is the first time a Croatian has made the all-tournament list since Davor Šuker did it in the 1998 World Cup- the same year he also won the Golden Boot award.
Croatian press have praised Modrić for his results this tournament and have made it clear that Tottenham have made an extremely smart decision in buying the former Dinamo Zagreb star. Modrić will start playing for his new club when the English Premiership season starts up this August.
Goal.com has the complete story which includes the other 9 members of the Euro 2008 all-tournament list.

Dario Cvitanich sighting in Buenos Aires.
small world it is indeed. As I walked through the busy tribunales section of Buenos Aires, Argentina running some errands I looked up for a split second and crossed the street on Viamonte and Avenida Uruguay and low and behold waiting for the light to turn green was Dario Cvitanich. He was with a grey haired man in his fifties and I wasn’t sure at first if it was him but I turned and called his name and he
looked up.
I told him I was of Croatian lineage and congratulated him on his new life with Ajax of Amsterdam. The guy was delightful and humble as can be and thanked me for my kind words. My parting words to Dario were I hope they call you up for the Croatian national team… to which he responded I hope so too… and then I smiled and said… “Dario, don’t do what Bilos did ok?” He smiled back and said…
No way, it would be an honor for me. And then I told him how proud Croatians were and that was in his blood as well and he should never forget it. We shook hands and parted ways.
Very pleasant chap this Dario Cvitanich. You get the sense that he’s on cloud nine for all the good things that are happening.
