All of us at the Croatian Soccer Report would like to wish Eduardo a happy 25th birthday and a quick, complete recovery. It's obviously not the best birthday under these circumstances but you have much, much more soccer to play in your life. Keep your chin up and see you on the pitch soon. Sretan Rođendan! -CSR … [Read more...] about HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDUARDO!!
Uefa.com has made it official-Eduardo WILL NOT PLAY IN EURO 2008. He sustained compound fractures to his tibia and fibula of the left leg after an atrocious tackle by Birmingham's Martin Taylor. No disciplinary action has been taken yet by the Premiership on Taylor, but I'm sure they'll come up with something good within the next 2 weeks. Hopefully Eduardo makes a full and … [Read more...] about EDUARDO HOSPITAL REPORT
I have been in a heated debate with my good friend, Ben "Argentina" Correas, who is a firm supporter of this blog, on the FIFA Ranking system and on where teams in present day soccer deserve to be placed in the ranks. We both agree that the current system is flawed and does no justice to where teams really should be ranked. I would love to have feedback from all of you soccer … [Read more...] about SOCCER TALK: FIFA RANKINGS
Croatia fell 2 spots down to #12 in the February 2008 FIFA World Rankings. Greece moved up to #10 and England took the 11th spot with their 2-1 win over the Swiss at Wembley earlier this month. The top nine remained the same from January. This means absolutely nothing for Croatia and only furthermore proves my point of how horrible the FIFA Ranking system is and why it needs to … [Read more...] about CROATIA FALLS TWO SPOTS IN RANKS

The city and venue has not yet been named but my guess would be the capital city- Ljubljana. Stay tuned for more Euro 2008 news and rumors as it approaches. … [Read more...] about FINAL FRIENDLY ANNOUNCED
We all saw how the new 2008 Croatian dark blue road jerseys looked against England back in November. They remind me of the 1998 blues with checkers only underneath the armpits. The home jerseys, which have always consisted of the red and white checker design, have not yet been officially released by Nike, but these pictures show what they are probably going to look like. … [Read more...] about POSSIBLE 2008/2009 HOME JERSEY DESIGN??
Croatia manager, Slaven Bilić, released the team roster for the Netherlands friendly early Tuesday morning. The game will take place February 6th in Split. It is the first in a series of friendlies for both sides in preparation for the Euro 2008 tournament in June. There have not been any unexpected roster moves for this game except for Bilić saying that many younger, … [Read more...] about BILIĆ NAMES SQUAD VS. NETHERLANDS
